The Billionaire's - Calista Fox

The Billionaires: The Bosses is book two in the Lover’s Triangle series by Calista Fox. This is my first book by Calista. Even though I haven’t read the first book in this series, it didn’t take away at all from this book although I am intrigued now to get Jewel’s story.

Bayli Styles has only been in New York for a couple of months. She is twenty-seven years old and is getting a late start to working towards her dream of being a model in New York. She spent most of her life taking care of her sick mother. But life in New York is not easy. Even though Bayli has an agent, work is sporadic, so she is forced to hold down several part time jobs to pay the rent in her very small apartment. She is on her way to apply as a hostess for the new and very fancy restaurant, Davila’s. If she could get this job, it could open other doors for her since it’s clientele was known to be the who’s who of New York.

The restaurant is owned by the famous duo, Rory St. James and Christian Davila. Rory is the temperamental chef, known for his fiery blow ups in the kitchen, and Christian, the brains behind the scene. She and Rory’s first meeting was explosive, literally. They crashed into each other causing Rory to drop a tray of salads. But when they touched, there was another kind of explosion. Electricity arced between them. But Bayli is sent home without a job offer.

He could cook for me any night!!! ...

Later, working as a cigar hostess, she gets the opportunity to meet Rory’s partner, Christian, and they experience the same electrical chemistry. But this meeting went better, much better.

Rory and Christian have been best friends for years and have developed a habit of sharing women. But all of their encounters are casual. They have opened several restaurants around the United States, all very successful. Their latest idea is to launch a cooking show but they haven’t been able to come up with the right platform. Until they met Bayli. She would be perfect. But their interest in Bayli isn’t just professional. They both experienced something with her that has been lacking previously. It’s more than a sexual attraction, so much more. Could Bayli be the woman they have been waiting for, the perfect woman to share their lives?

two men one woman

Bayli has not dated much. There was never time while taking care of her Mom. So her experience is limited. But after hearing about her friend Jewel’s experiences, she is intrigued by the idea of two men. Individually she has intense chemistry with these two men but what about all three of them together? And what about having a personal relationship with the two men at the same time as a professional one? Could that even work?

This is an oh so sexy story about three people that came together at the perfect time, each of their lives at that place where everything just clicked. Don’t get me wrong, they had their problems along the way. And when a seemingly unknown woman comes along and steals not one but two of the most eligible bachelors in New York, there are bound to be some unhappy women. And maybe even men! Bayli is forced sooner than expected to face the not so pleasant part of being in the spotlight. Are these just harmless threats or could she really be in danger.

I did enjoy this. Bayli was such a sweet woman, and don’t get me started on the sexy friends, Rory and Christian. I did think the book dragged a bit at times, that maybe parts of it were a bit wordy. But the sexy scenes were scorching. Let’s just say that Bayli acclimated very quickly to having two men please her with no problem at all. I definitely will pay attention to this author in the future. The next book in this series comes out in December and is called The Stepbrothers. It features Bayli’s other friend, Scarlet Drake. One of her prospective love interests is a rancher. We all know how I feel about a man in a Stetson!

While I enjoyed this book and the three main characters I felt it was just too long. The main characters are great and I liked how they all got together and found their own groove but it dragged, there wasn't enough story to fill the book and the story itself was very predictable.

This would have worked better as a much shorter book then the lack of story wouldn't have been so obvious.

Bayli is beautiful both inside and out but after spending years looking after her terminally ill mother she's trying to get her life on track. She desperately wants to make it as a model and the hostess job at Davila’s NYC could be the break she needs since it's always full of VIP's.

Her interview with the angsty chef Rory doesn't go as expected although attraction flares hot between them. Her meeting with his partner Christian goes much better and again the attraction is hot and instant.

This is a hot read as you'd expect from a menage and if all you're looking for is a hot book then this could be a good option but I wanted a bit more.

I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and St. Martin's Press.

Great beginning and middle. Ending was a bit predictable.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is something about a good billionaire story that can really make for a pleasurable read. Steamy scenes, especially when a MFM scenario is involved. What's not to love?
This is my third book by Calista Fox and I have enjoyed them all. This one has a great plot and well developed characters that you actually like. The hotness factor of the guys is a plus too! And the hot and heavy scenes will make you sweat!
As in any menage, you get the typical back and forth, good girl/bad girl scenario but once that barrier is crossed, it's all in. I loved the beginning and the middle of the story but as it started to wind down, it became very typical and even predictable.
Great writing and the ability to stay entertained and flipping pages in anticipation for more steam is what I look forward to in a Calista Fox story. She always delivers.
3,5 to 4 hot stars
I’m not usually reading erotic even less ménage but when the opportunity arises.. it’s good to go out of my reader’s comfort zone once in a while.
What you should know before reading this book:
-you’ll never watch Master Chef with the same eyes. You’ll always wonder if the only sizzling is happening in the hot pan or below the counter as well;
Bayli Styles had a way to make intimidating chef Rory’s blood boil the heat in the kitchen suddenly cranked up several levels.
-fairy tales don’t only happen in fairy books. Or at least very steamy fairy tales.
Bayli moved to New York in the hope to be recognized as a model but when she meets Rory St James and Christian Davila it will be a whole new level! She would never have dreamt to land such an opportunity as well personally as financially.
Her dark years taking care of her mother and paying huge hospital bills will soon be over. Better than Cinderella landing the prince charming. Bayli catches two princes for the price of one. Bayli 1 -Cinderella 0 😉
-shrimps and oysters can be astonishingly pleasuring to eat (says the author because I still would have to try oysters again);
-always be the best at what you do! Even models can earn brownie points learning their subject. Be a body and a brain! Bayli is a researcher or rather a compulsive researcher. If she has to model for an event about cigars she’ll memorize her subject and will be breathing sexy cigar facts in your ears;
-make sure to have your man at the ready. Or a cold shower whatever best suits you. Because the sew scenes are steamy hot!
So if you like billionaires, cranky chefs, ménages and strong willed heroines this should meet all your desires.
I've read a few novellas from this author and while they were good, they were quick stories that didn't delve too deeply into character development. I'm glad to see when the author does write a full length novel, the character development is there. This is my favorite book I've read so far from Calista Fox and would love to see her write more full length novels if they are anything like this book. I do think the series title is a bit misleading. This was more a ménage a trois than a love triangle. There was some adjustments but they all wanted each other in their lives. You don't need to read book 1 before reading this one, it is a standalone. We do get a little bit of Jewel from the first book as well as Scarlett, who was set up nicely for her own book. I'm intrigued by the pieces of information we got about her and the step brothers. ARC provided by NetGalley.
This is the second novel I've read by Calista and I am happy to say that I enjoyed it so much more than the first one. This is the second book in this series and I was surprised by how invested I was with the characters, their careers, and their affection towards each other.
This series follows a group of 3 girl friends, Jewel, Bayli, and Scarlet, and their not-so-normal love lives. The first book in this series followed, Jewel, but this one follows Bayli. I didn't really like Jewel in the first novel but this one helped her grow on me as a secondary character. So for that, I am glad I didn't give up on this series!
I may not have liked Jewel in the last book but I absolutely fell in love with Bayli from the start of this one, after finding out that she was a fellow bookworm. I mean, how could I not? Her soul was basically calling to mine and it was hard not to give in. I enjoyed exploring her mind and watching her character develop throughout the entire novel. There was ONE time when she annoyed me for having overreacted to something I didn't think was a big enough deal but eventually Calista forced me to put myself in her shoes and my annoyance slowly faded away, leaving me to enjoy the rest of the novel in peace.
The hotties of this novel are Rory and Christian and I will admit, I could NOT choose between the two. Still can't. I didn't really have this problem on the last book, since I chose Vin over Rogen, but oh boy. Calista built two addicting hunks in this one that I refuse to choose between. I loved witnessing their bromance as well. Bromances are something that I can't get enough of. I love dissecting the similarities and differences between them and friendships between girls. The one between Rory and Christian was officially one of my favorite ones that I've read about. I just couldn't get enough of it. Each of their individual character developments were also a beautiful thing to witness. I grew a bit jealous over the attention and fondness they showed Bayli and vice versa. I mean, why is it so hard for me to meet guys like that?! Anyway, I would highly recommend these books for the bromances alone.
Also, did I mention that we get their POV's? Male perspectives are so important to me that I just have to mention it in this review.
Another thing that made me love this book a lot more than the first was the fact that it centered around the restaurant business. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this in a few reviews but I can't get enough of books that revolve around cooking/restaurant business/baking/chefs etc. I just love learning about dishes around the world and this one definitely sated my appetite.
I also love that Calista wove an intriguing plot with so much depth while also sprinkling some of the steamiest scenes I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Basically, this isn't about just sex and I am always grateful for well thought out characters.
One of the things I hold against this novel is that I did find it to be predictable in some aspects. I quickly knew who our bad guy was from the very beginning and I never like to be right about those things. It kind of put a damper in my mood since I didn't get to enjoy the hunt for them as much I'd have liked to. I just found myself skimming over some passages since I wanted it all to be over with. But other than that, I enjoyed everything else so much more that I ever expected to and I can't wait to read Scarlet's story soon!
4/5 stars!
I loved The Billionaires: The Bosses!!  Calista Fox has such a writing style that she just sucks you in from the first paragraph! This book was very enjoyable and I devoured every last page like I was starving!
Bayli moves to New York to try to make her mark in the world of modeling. Unfortunately, it's slow going.  She inquires about a hostess position in the newest trendy restaurant owned by billionaires and best friends, Rory and Christian.  It doesn't go good as mishaps with Rory occur.  She needs the money and definitely wants the exposure this restaurant could offer her. Her only chance is to make an impression on Christian-who just happens to be attending a party she is working at that weekend.
Well not only did Bayli make an impression, the world as each man knew it immediately changed! Both of them are insanely attracted to her, but they also have a project that's been on the back burner that she is perfect for.  This could be her big break! Can she keep her professional and private lives apart??
I loved Bayli!  She has a heart of gold and is so driven to succeed!  She's OCD about it in fact.  When she meets these guys she's knows what she wants instantly.  I liked that she accepted what she wanted and that was because she was comfortable in her own skin.  Yes, she wasn't as experienced as she would've liked, but Rory and Christian were far from minding! Of course both of these guys are like a cool drink of water, extremely forthright, and really down to earth guys!  Christian understood Bayli a bit more only because they had similar backgrounds. I liked both of them!  They were protective of Bayli and truly wanted to give her anything they could. Like any relationship, they just needed to find their footing.  And they did!  Talk about spiciness!! Whew! They chemistry between them was astounding to read!  I was totally invested in these guys because I could feel their passion!
The Billionaires: The Bosses can be read as a stand alone book.  There are overlapping characters from book one, The Billionaires, but you don't need to read that one first to enjoy this.  I would recommend both books in the Lover's Triangle series and I can not wait for book three, The Billionaires: The Stepbrothers!! Pure yumminess!
Hot and dirty ménage? Count me in!
From the first couple of pages, I was sucked into Bayli, Rory and Christian’s world. It was a sexy, sultry place and I didn’t want to leave.
Bayli was out to make something of herself. She sought fame and fortune, but she also wanted love and a life. Rory and Christian have spent their lives proving themselves as brilliant entrepreneurs—Christian running the business while Rory rules from behind his chef coat. Two brilliant minds in gorgeous, muscular packaging sought the one woman that they could share forever and make a future—and they both determine that woman is Bayli.
Menage stories can be challenging to read . . . sometimes you just struggle to understand the depth of the connection between all three of the characters, but that isn’t something that happened with The Billionaires: The Bosses. The friendship between Rory and Christian is strong. They love and respect each other. And Bayli makes them better. The interaction between the three of them was smart and hella sexy. I’m looking forward to more in the Lover’s Triangle series. ~Missy, 4 stars
IMMENSELY HOT, WICKEDLY SEXY, MENAGE.
A young woman is a struggling model, in New York City. Needs another job to make ends meet. Leaving her past behind her, she is ready to start a new life. What she doesn't expect is to fall for two delectably delicious men who make her an offer she couldn't refuse.
Rory and Christian our both arrogant, sexy, brooding men. They share everything, and get their way.... every single time. And when Bayli literally falls into their laps, they come up with a plan. And soon these three individuals have the time of their lives. But deep secrets, jealousy, and a stalker watching Bayli's every move. No one is safe in this wicked game of love.
All in all I rather enjoyed The Billionaires: The Bosses, the chemistry between Bayli, Christian, and Rory was pantie smoking hot. I needed a tall glass of water if you know what I mean. XD
An incredibly HOT threesome story with two incredibly smoking hot guys!
First off I loved the story and the plot. Loved how all three came together and how Bailey and Rory fought with each other. I loved the immediate connection between Bailey and Christian and how he just wanted to act as a peacekeeper between her and Rory.
The only reason I didn't give it 4 or 5 stars was because I felt parts of it were drawn out. The whole...looking for some mystery thing Bailey assists the two guys with left me wondering what it had to do with the story. Parts like that just felt like they were thrown in to fill the book and make it longer.
The writing for this book was truly amazing. It flowed so well and I never got caught up I was just so in to the story. However there were some parts where I rolled my eyes a bit and felt the same old romance vibes but very rarely. A great romance book! I'm definitely going to pursue others by Calista Fox.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the second in a series - and we do get some contributions from Jewel, who stars in the previous book - but it is fundamentally a stand alone. I had some issues with that book, because of the writing style, and it hasn't really changed here. It is nothing serious, just a bit too much catching us up on their background through thoughts, and swapping out of usual words for a more flowery version. The story is strong enough for me to have enjoyed it all the same.
Bayli is an interesting mix of a character, with some parts of her being very confident, and others very insecure. As we understand the challenges of her youth, then it is less surprising, and helped to explain some of the less expected actions or comments. She certainly caught a lucky break with these two men, and takes full advantage of their combined skills! Ms Fox certainly knows how to heat up the pages with ménage adventures.
There is a loose mystery involved, which was rather loudly signalled, but amusing. I wish we had more of their lives pre-epilogue. I am very curious as to whether the super independent Scarlett is going to catch the trio bug of her two good friends and get her own HEA.
I received this book from Goodreads.
The Billionaires: The Bosses is a hot and heavy erotica involving not one smoking hot guy- but two of them! Rory St. James and Christian Davila are highly successful business partners by trade and close, loyal friends by inclination, and they both are used to getting what they want. And what they both want is Bayli Styles.
Bayli just wants to make some extra cash so she doesn't have to worry about making ends meet in her beloved and expensive New York that she now calls home. A hostess position at Manhattan's hottest new venue, owned by the two celebrity billionaires, is sure to help her supplement her meager income and allow her to rub elbows with all the big shots that could certainly make Bayli's modeling career soar if only they'd just turn their wealthy heads look at her.
Things don't go exactly as planed, though, when she arrives at the soon to be famous steakhouse and ends up on her ass (literally!) with the remnants of a personally prepared salad made by none other than the notoriously short tempered chef Rory St. James scattered all over the floor. Talk about first impressions...
After getting the cold shoulder blow off by Rory, Bayli still has a chance to win that hostess job at her next modeling gig. But first she has to do some research... Her next target, and her very last chance to land the job, Christian Davila.
Unknowingly to her, she has made a bigger impression on the hot headed Rory and, soon Christian, than she could ever imagine.
Three is anything but a crowd in this book.
I received a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads
The second book in the lovers triangle series and this is Bayli's book. We have 3 girlfriends who grew up together in wine country River Cross CA. Bayli's mom died and left Bayli with a lot of medical bills and debt. Putting her life on hold to care for her mother, after her death, Bayli moves to New York to pursue a modeling career. She is looking for her 3rd job to help pay the bills and runs, quite literally, into chef Rory St. James. Rory is immediately drawn to Bayli. He and his business partner, Christian, who also sometimes partners their lovers find Bayli to be exactly what they are looking for in their bed and in their new endeavor. Christian envisions a new cooking show featuring Rory as chef and Bayli is the perfect spokeswoman. The 3 find themselves entangled in love and in business.
While I really enjoyed the first book in this series, for some reason Bayli's story didn't do as much for me. I found them in love too quickly with no back history to support such quick and intense feelings. The menage scenes were well worth the read though, so I liked that! Throw in Christian's sometimes lover and full time office assistant who is a woman scorned and not happy with the new girl, and it's not a bad book at all. Solid 3 stars here.
The Billionaires: The Bosses (Lover's Triangle #2) by Calista Fox
4 stars
M/F/M Romance
Triggers: Stalker
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
Bayli is getting desperate. She wants to break in to her modeling or acting career, but just can't seem to get noticed. She sees an opportunity and takes it only to be mowed down, literally, by the one person who can make or break her ability to land the hostess position - Rory.
Rory is intense in a way that would make anyone cower. However, he has a softness to him when nobody is looking, but because he's also a perfectionist, he is usually gruff and mean too. His relationship with Christian is long standing and doesn't waiver, despite being insanely attracted to Bayli and wanting her with all that he is.
Christian is intense, but in a business sort of way. When he meets Bayli and she asks for a job - in a round about way, he admires her. He knows what it's like to work hard and get your dreams. When he sees Bayli, he instantly thinks of Rory and how much fun they could all have together.
The three of them are friendly, but I didn't really get too much chemistry between them. The men are overprotective and the stalking angle is strong. I enjoyed the story and watching these three figure out their relationship.
Billionaire kinky men have been done over and over again. How can this one be any different? It may not exactly be different; it is erotically explosive and deliciously written. Ms. Fox is quickly becoming one of the authors I auto read. I do not even bother to find out what the book is about. If her name is on it, I'll read it. And I will enjoy it.
In this series, Bayli is a determined woman who is intuitive and self motivated. I really liked her. Sure she has two best friends who are supportive and can give her a helping hand. She doesn't want handouts. She wants to make it on her own and she knows what she wants. What she wants is to to be famous through modeling maybe some acting. Is it that models and actors moonlight as waitresses or vice versa? Bayli wants to be a hostess for a very exclusive restaurant owned by billionaires Rory St. James and Christian Davila. When she is flat turned down, it does not stop her. And this is what I love about Bayli.
This story had me laughing from beginning to end... with Bayli. She is a fighter and she can hold her own. The plot devices in this story worked so well for me. I loved how Ms. Fox created these characters and showed their interactions from work to play. The chemistry between these three leap off the pages. Their sexual heat is scorching hawt. The menage is a pleasure to read. Is it realistic? Probably not, but it is so good and fun to read. This book is like fine wine to me. I savoured it to the last drop and was remorseful when it came to the end. This book did give me a book hangover.
In addition to great sex, erotic scenes and loveable characters, there is a nice solid plot. I liked how it all tied together for a story that is more than just three people hooking up. They are building a life together. This pulls me in because it feels more realistic and I love stories where people who work hard can achieve their dreams. This erotic romance is recommended to all menage readers.
This is the second book in this series by this author. The author has a fantastic way of sucking you into the story and keeping a hold on you till the end. This is a very hot, sexy menage read. I really enjoyed the story around the characters. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.
A highly entertaining, sexy, M/F/M romance with a touch of suspense that's a definite must read! The Billionaires: The Bosses is the second book in the sizzling Lover's Triangle series by Calista Fox, and it will have you hooked from beginning to end. With the unique storyline, terrific characters you can't help but love, lots of humor, scorching intimate scenes, intense situations, and intriguing twists, you'll be turning the pages faster to see what happens next. This was a fantastic story, and I can't wait for the next one!
Bayli hasn't had the easiest life, caring for her sick mother since she was a child was difficult for her both physically and mentally, especially since her mother passed away. However, she's strong, independent, resilient, and determined to make something of her life that will give both of their lives meaning. Already working 2 other jobs in addition to her sporadic modeling gigs, she applies for a position at the newest Davila restaurant, but what happens is something that she never expected.
When famous chef Rory St. James and his bf and business partner Christian Davila both meet Bayli on separate occasions, both knowing instantly that she's perfect for both their business and personal interests, they know that they have to figure out how to draw her in, just like she's unknowingly done with them. Christian and Bayli hit it off great right from the start, but she and Rory have disastrous results over and over, which makes her doubt the interest that Christian claims is there, as well as the once in a life time offer he proposes.
Will Bayli be able to get over her insecurities about her past, and give in to the life changing offer, as well as the explosive chemistry she has with both of the gorgeous billionaires? Can Christian and Rory convince her that she's perfect for them, and that they both want her for more than just a fling? Can Bayli handle both of these incredible men, and keep them satisfied with the little experience that she has? What happens when someone else decides that they'll do whatever it takes to keep Bayli away from the men, even risking her life? Can Christian and Rory keep her safe until they figure out who's behind the threats? Or will she be taken out of the picture once and for all? Will they finally get the HEA they all want and deserve? You're going to have to read this to find out! You won't be disappointed!
This is my first book by this author, and in this series, and it went well beyond any expectations I had. This was a terrific story that was steamy, sexy, hilarious, emotional, and the suspenseful aspect was intriguing. Although I didn't read the first book prior to this, I had no trouble keeping up with the story or characters, and never felt like I was missing anything. The author did an outstanding job of including the previous characters, giving just enough about them to understand their association with the current characters, but not enough to give away spoilers in the first book.
Each book can be read as a stand alone, but I would suggest that you start from the beginning. I plan to go back and enjoy the first story, because after reading this book, I know that it will be amazing as well. I strongly recommend this book, series, and great author.
I really enjoyed the first story in this series - seeing how things could ultimately work out for Jewel and her two guys Rogen and Vin.  Gave us a great foundation to get into this amazing story with Bayli, although what's the real likelihood that within a group of friends, multiple girls would find themselves in menages.  But oh well, that's all the suspension of disbelief in reading right?
So to that point, we have a really great set of mains in this story -Bayli, a girl who gave everything to take care of her mother, and now that her mother has passed, she's trying to take life by the horns and make a name for herself.  She's destined for greatness and just needs to figure out how to get there.  Enter Rory and Christian.  Hopefully the answer to her prayers for a bit when she tries to land a hostess job at their new restaurant.  A place where she feels like she'll be seen by the right folks to catapult her career.  Only she doesn't land the job - she lands herself on the floor after Rory knocks into her.
Where we go from there is an expected path but one that's so hot and interesting that it keeps me reading fast and furious.  Both Christian and Rory are taken with Bayli - not just by her looks but from the spark that she has inside - she's intelligent, commanding and she's not afraid of them.  The exact woman that they both need (cause they share of course).
The journey from here is one where they try to figure out how they can be together without compromising this top secret project that they're trying to get off the ground.  A project that will give Bayli the exposure that she's craving to make a name for herself.  There's a lot of tension as to what they need to do to be successful and what that looks like.  There's also a concern around fan bases for the two eligible bachelors since once word gets out that they're linked to Bayli, then there will be fans with hearts broken everywhere.
That leads us to the point of tension in the story.  Bayli has had stalkers in the past and it seems as though one of the more terrifying ones is back - going after her with passion.  Well, we know that the guys will rally around her, and of course when they find that it's not the same stalker who's trying to do real damage to her, the story takes a turn that's yet another turn in their path for them to be successful or not.
It's a sweet story and Ms Fox has been able to craft this plot line in a way that's unique from book 1 but still has a lot of the same values and context that made book 1 great.  We also continue to get to see how the relationships between the three girlfriends makes it that much more solid.  That's what carries us through and will obviously give us something great for book 3 with Scarlet.  I can't wait to see that one soon
What do you do when you have not just one hot boss, but two? And they both want you?
What will it take to make her theirs?
Bayli Styles leaves California wine country behind for the bright lights of New York City, in search of fame and fortune. However, fame and fortune are a little further out of reach than she had hoped, so to supplement her meager modeling income, she seeks a hostess position at Manhattan's hottest new venue, owned by billionaires Rory St. James and Christian Davila. Bayli gets much more than she bargained for when both devastatingly handsome and magnetic men make her blood sizzle...and offer her the guiltiest of all pleasures--themselves.
Bayli is the perfect solution to the two problems currently plaguing entrepreneurs Rory and Christian, professionally and sexually. She'd make the ultimate -face- for their current joint venture, but both men are thinking beyond business and waste no time seducing Bayli into their brand of double pleasure. In the end, the threesome will put it all on the line--their bodies, their hearts, their souls--either destined for failure, or for the redefinition of true love.
Review:
This is the second book in the Lover's Triangle series. This series so far has featured three friends (Jewel, Bayli and Scarlett) and their unconventional love arrangement's. This series and this book features/mentions many of the people, places and happenings from the Bayfront series. Though you do not have needed to read those to enjoy this book.
This is the story of Bayli, Christian and Rory. Bayli looking to make her way to her dreams moves to NYC and looks for ways to support herself while pursuing her modeling career. Bayli goes for an interview to work as a hostess in Rory's and Christian's restaurant. Things don't go well at Rory and Bayli's initial meeting, so Bayli puts a plan in motion to win over Christian and get that job. Things get very interesting from there.
This was an excellent story! From the other series and books, it felt as though I already knew this trio and had a vested interest in them. It is intensely sexy, but really has a lot of heart to the story. There is a little mystery, as someone who does not like that Bayli is with Christian and Rory targets her. It was easy to guess who was behind it, but I liked it all the same except for the spiders...ugh. This like the other books in the series is about a ménage relationship if this is not your thing, then this may not be the book for you. Next up is Scarlett's story and I cannot wait!!
ADDICTIVE. ENGAGING. WICKEDLY HOT!
The Billionaire's: The Bosses (Lover’s Triangle #2) by Calista Fox is a wonderful ménage tale of a young emerging model who moves cross country from hicktown California to the starlight's of New York in search of stardom. Little does she know she will acquire passion, sinfully hot encounters by not one but two ever popular entrepreneurs who deliver her stardom on a silver platter.
“Some women just possessed that certain je ne sais quoi. This one possessed it in spades.”
Chef Rory St James and Christian Davila have shared everything together since college. Opening restaurants left and right every couple years, but lately they have been yearning for more in their personal lives. Someone to warm their bed, someone to keep them on their toes. Both thinking that finding someone who they both agree upon would never happen until Bayli walked into Chef’s restaurant needing a job. Both men are falling faster than ever for this sassy yet tenacious, full of heart woman, but jealousy rears its ugly head when Bayli and Rory set off to stardom and make headlines for someone behind the scenes. What does this do to the triad and their growing relationship?
As a fan of ménage romances I have to say this story hit the nail on the head. Great development of characters, a sound storyline to get your craving for more and a little of suspense to keep you on edge. Might I add the sex… WOW! Your kindle will flame with the amount of heat these three characters bring you between the sheets! A worthy ménage love story for sure.
The Bosses begins with Bayli going in for a job interview at NYC’s hottest new restaurant, only to run into (literally!) a little trouble with one of the co-owners, Rory St. James, who just happens to be a world famous chef known for being difficult and demanding in his kitchens. Knowing right off the bat that she’s not going to get the job she applied for, she sets her sights on co-owner #2. Bayli is bound and determined to make him notice her, which only takes about a nanosecond when she enters the party he’s attending. Having accomplished what she set out to do, she heads out at the end of the party and finds herself stranded miles from the city. Luckily for her, co-owner #2, Christian Davila, has stayed late at the party and offers her a ride into the city. She accepts his offer, not knowing that that decision would affect the rest of her life in ways that she hadn’t ever imagined………..
The Bosses is the first I’ve read by Calista Fox. I enjoyed all three main characters. Bayli was fun with her take on things and her boldness. I also liked the way Rory and Christian were written: one being fiery and demanding, while the other was more methodical and thoughtful. I enjoyed the storyline, even though it was pretty predictable. There’s a lot of sizzle in this book, which leaves the whole plot feeling a little forced to me. However, my overall feeling about the book is a good one. If you’re a fan of ménage stories, and maybe even if you’re not, I think you’ll enjoy the book. It’s entertaining and a pretty quick read, with some funny moments as well. I would definitely entertain reading another Calista Fox book.
When her mother becomes terminally ill, Bayli Styles prolongs her dreams of stardom, to become her mother's caretaker, knowing she will get to it someday. Well someday has now came, and it is a lot harder than she anticipated, with few modeling gigs coming her way, she knows she needs to find an additional way to make ends meet. So, she gets an interview with a local restaurant in hopes of becoming their new hostess, and she comes face to face with one of the most intriguing men she has ever met. He is gorgeous, bossy, and she can't help but notice the sparks lingering between them. Then she meets his business partner, and finds that he inspires some serious sparks too. She knows there is no way she can choose between them, but then they surprise her and make her a deal that is so unexpected, and so tempting... it's too good to pass up really!
This sultry little first read made quite the first impression, a few sentences in and it had my undivided attention, it was so addictive, I just could not put it down!! The characters were well drawn, the story line was very engaging, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! My favorite trope is love triangles and I have to say this one hit the mark, it was rich with passion, angst, drama, and an air of mystery. I think it is safe to say that I will be back for more, Ms. Fox's sexy alphas have lured me in!! Highly recommend this one, it's sure to leave you satisfied!!
This was the first story I've read by Calista Fox and I was pleased by the fact that Bayli, the lead female character, was depicted as a young woman interested in learning and digging deep to become knowledgeable when faced with a new opportunity versus the typical troupe of a woman trying to make it big on NYC with only her looks! The fact that Bayli was bright, a quick thinker on her feet and self-assured (mostly!) was refreshing for a story with this setting.
The chemistry between the main characters was off the charts and the characters were independent and developed enough to be seen as strong individuals in their own right (not just a twosome with a third sidekick).
What bogged this down was the slow pace to the story. I kept waiting for it to pick up speed but before a plot scene was done I kept thinking: ok I've got it, can we move on?
As this continued to happen it made me wonder why the author felt the need to perpetuate the slower pace. Character development! Plot development? Plenty of that! Unfortunately, this became a distraction from the story...
Luckily, I was interested in how their big venture (don't want to give any spoilers here) would turn out, how their relationships would progress, etc., enough to keep me engaged in the story...but only just.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
Calista Fox writes amazing romances, but with this novel, she’s mastered erotic suspense as well. The characters aren’t just cardboard cutouts–she’s gone to the trouble of filling them in with interesting back stories that explain a lot about each character. She’s also got naughty down to an art form. These characters have got risk taking down, and while Rory’s got a lot of gruff to Christian’s sweet, Bayli is the one who can build a bridge between them.
Erotic menage stories often have a sameness to them. I mean, they’re a trope for a reason. However, this one also threw in some mystery as well that added to my enjoyment. I was screaming at the book at one point when I finally discerned who the villain was, but it was an enjoyable surprise to find out I might have been right. I really liked Bayli’s quick wit and her endearing naivete. The two males were well-fleshed out, and there was an interesting sexual detail that I’d love to see played out. In fact, the whole ending left me wondering how things were going with them after a year or two. That’s certainly not normal for me after reading an erotic menage.
So if you enjoy extra helpings in the love department and want a threesome to cheer on, this book’s for you. Calista, give us more about these three! Thanks
