My name is Aspen Roan. Working for a high-end escort service in the heart of London, I pride myself in keeping clients at arm’s length. I am not a stripper or a hooker. And I don’t pleasure men for anything or anyone. Period. At least that is until Jasper Theron crosses my path and challenges everything I believe in. He is wealthy, mysterious, and devilishly good looking.
Why the hell is he interested in me?
When my co-workers start turning up dead and my best friend goes missing, I find myself trapped in Jasper’s world of sex, lies, and hit men.
Jasper may be a man haunted by demons, but I am far from a saint.

This book gets a four star because the ending blew my mind. Jasper wowziers is all I can say !!!! First book by this author and would read again... Side note this book does end with a small cliffhanger but not so much that you want to throw something 😁
I would like to thank author Amy Miles for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
WOW, that ending though. I am mixed in this book. I had a hard time connecting with both the male and female main characters. Luckily I kept reading because the ending cleared up a lot of my gripes.
I’ll start with Jasper. He’s quite the “game player”. For me he started out strong. He was mysterious and sexy and I’m thinking – Yay, a new book boyfriend! Then things changed for me. He became a game player and started doing some things that had me reading it like, huh? I seriously want to go into some of his questionable actions but that would be a lot of spoilers. I actually liked Jasper in the end. I’d say like 90% on he redeemed himself. So I hope that is the Jasper that will continue in the next book.
OK, Aspen. At times I found her strong but then others I felt like she is questioning who she is. I mean, I guess I can understand that somewhat because Jasper was like Jekyll and Hyde and that would confuse any girl. *** OK SPOILER HERE*** – but at one point she sees him kissing another woman (or said woman kissing him), she’s angry, rightfully so. And when he was walking out the door she asks him, “Do you still want me?” Aspen, no, no, no.
As I have said the ending is what did it for me. An amazing twist to the story and really cleared up a lot. I loved the thrill aspect of the book and trying to figure out who the serial killer is. I had a few guesses and I was wrong each time.
I would recommend this book to those who like romantic thrillers. I’d add an over 18 disclaimer to this book due to some of the content.
Mystery, Intrigue, and lust...oh my.... I've read one other book by this author and I devoured it and I don't think I expected this one to be any different and it didn't disappoint. Amy knows what she is doing. She knows just the right amount to give and take in order to keep you going and guessing through the entire thing. I am highly anticipating the next in the series. This book follows Aspen, who is an escort for a high end company. She makes her own rules and doesn't compromise for anyone....or does she...In comes Jasper...oh sweet, tempting Jasper. She knows he is trouble, he blatantly tells her he is trouble, that they should avoid each other, but what are you to do when the pull is so strong and you can't resist each other anymore than you can resist air?
**I got this for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review from the author**
~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~
Jasper is a completely different book that I have EVER read by Amy. I can tell you right now, that Jasper is in my top 10 books. I will be re-reading this. The mystery and twists that happen in Jasper, I NEVER saw coming. Different emotions popped up while reading this. Fear, scared, happy, cautious, etc... I just finished this book and those are really the only words that Inhave except, I NEED BOOK 2 NOW!!!!!
Amy has blown my expectations out of the water. This is unlike anything she has ever written and she wrote it perfectly! She stepped out of her comfort zone and nailed this book! I can't say enough awesome things about Jasper. Get this book now!!!!
Oh my god. This book is amazing. I don't even know where to start. The characters are fantastic. I love Aspen. She's smart and quirky. Jasper, I didn't know what to think of Jasper at first. I didn't know if I loved him or hates him. But the chemistry between them is undeniable. And then the twist!!!! Holy shit!! I could not put this book down!! It's just so good.
What an interesting book! It intrigued me and had me guessing throughout much of the story. The plot has shreds of Jack the Ripper and even Jekyll and Hyde. Amy Miles created characters that leave you puzzled. They're the type that make you ask why but you keep right on reading needing to know more. I can't wait to read the next book.
Ok so Amy's books are normal amazing. This book is no bloody different. Jasper wow this guy is complex on so many hot levels . Aspen well this chic would if I could be my best mate . Put the two together and this book just bloody rock . Amy always blows me away , but this wow .. amy must do this again your writing is amazing
Ahhhhmazing!!! I've read just about every Amy Miles book and although this is different for her, it did not disappoint!
Full of so much including surprises I didn't see coming, making me countdown the days for the next book! Thank you for trying something different because I totally loved it!
Let me first make two points, in the interest of being utterly and completely truthful:
1. The author provided me with a digital ARC for review purposes only - however, this review was NOT required and is still 100% honest. 2. I literally cannot believe this book is selling for $0.99.
Note to the author: Ms. Miles, you're selling yourself WAY short pricing this amazing read at such a low point - I can't decide if you're cheating yourself, or if it's marketing genius because this is what people will buy when they want to test out your writing skills, and then they'll never leave your side ever again.
As for my review - this book had me swept up and sucked in from the very beginning. Aspen was a believable character and I liked that she had a good mix of toughness and naivete throughout the story. The roommate was fine, the work stuff was fine ... but Jasper. Jasper was a character unlike many others - and despite some certain similarities to other characters I actually despised in other novels, Jasper really pulled through with a realistic purpose for his ... quirks. I loved the way he attempted to remake himself, the way he was trying so hard to turn around and do the right thing, and the way he turned out to be SO MUCH different than what I was expecting.
I've read other books by Amy before, some through my own purchase and some through ARC opportunities, and I've had varying results in how much I loved what I read - mostly because Amy is a versatile writer who likes trying out different genres now and again (not unlike myself), and every book doesn't fit every reader. But this? This fits perfectly - both for my reading preferences AND Amy's writing style. I can't wait for the second book to come out!!
Oh my sweet cherry pie! This book will catch your attention until the end. Jasper is a very intriguing man. You are lost in the mystery of who and what he is. You want desperately for Aspen to give into her hesitation and let her love Jasper. But her past and who she is now holds her back. She has the greatest best friend that helps her push through her bad times. I hope there is much more of Jasper and Aspen.
I received this free eARC novel from the author and Red Coat PR in exchange for my honest review.
Aspen is all alone in the world. She is an orphan - no siblings, and now no parents after sickness has taken them both away. Now she lives in London, working and living with her roommate, Callie - the only friend Aspen really has anymore. Actually, Callie is more like a sister now.
Aspen works as a service girl, but she is not the girl to take on dates and expect something extra by the end of the night. She goes out with her clients, and goes back to her apartment. It's a job and Aspen makes sure that everyone understands that.
When she goes on a date with J.T., Aspen doesn't realize what she is getting herself into. In fact, that night changes everything for her. Because J.T. is really Jasper, and Jasper is a ridiculously handsome guy who is the only one that Aspen has even thought about going home with.
And because of that, Aspen knows she needs to stay away from Jasper, because he is nothing but trouble. In fact, Jasper even says that he is not the one for her, and she has seen that he has very deep, dark secrets.
When girls go missing from Aspen's job, everyone is on high alert - even Jasper. He is insistent that she stop working ad to let him take care of her.
But Aspen doesn't understand everything that is going on. She is a snooper and is trying to figure out all of the missing pieces, but nothing in her wildest dreams would have prepared her for what is about to happen in her life.
This was an interesting book. A different book. Not what I was expecting and certain things happened that I didn't really like overall, sad to say. It's not your typical New Adult novel, which would be good or bad depending on what you are looking for.
I enjoyed this book in the beginning and was really liking the story, but toward the middle and end, there felt like there were huge gaps missing and I was getting lost in the shuffle with the missing information. I started feeling disconnected from the characters and it became more of a story being told to me rather than a story that I was a part of.
Aspen is a smart girl and she is her own self. She doesn't let anyone boss her around, and she is always wanting to find information for mysteries. She talked about Nancy Drew a lot, which always made me smile and Aspen wanted to be the London's version of Nancy Drew, haha.
We have a few chapters where it's Jasper's point of view, but none of them made too much sense overall. Now that I finished the book, I understand what was going on, but during those chapters you don't really get a good insight of Jasper, and that was what I was looking for.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. Like I said, it was different. I despised one particular scene which kind of made this book a downhill spiral for me, but if I were to take that out of the equation, I would say it was a good book. I may or may not seek out the second book when it is published - just depends on how I feel about it when the time comes and if I want to see what happens with Jasper and Aspen.
I am very glad I got this as an eBook and I think New Adult/Adult genre fans will enjoy this new, dark, and mysterious novel!
This is the first book I’ve read by Amy Miles, so I didn’t really know what to expect. Still, in my wildest dreams I never expected what I actually read. I figured typical romantic suspense. Ha! Not even close. I’m finding it very difficult to even describe this book, but I guess the best way to do so would be to say that it is complex. On every level. The story, the characters, the surprises, the ending . . . all of it. I had a serious love-hate thing going with Jasper, and I guess with Aspen as well. I’m still not sure how I feel because even after finishing the book last night, my mind is still reeling over the story and particularly the ending. This is a book that will stick with me, and with as many books as I read, that alone makes it a worthy standout. This isn’t your cookie-cutter romance, or mystery, or thriller. It’s some kind of literary unicorn in the world of these cross-over genres.
I'm counting this book as a full read even though I didn't completely finish. I made it about 70% and just kept finding excuses to read something else. And its sat here for a month on my Goodreads reading list and if you're like me you like to keep all your books up to date and tracked :) For some reason I just could not connect with Jasper and his dominance. It wasn't sexy to me. His mysterious nature didn't feel right to me and I felt like he was keeping her prisoner more than anything. I didn't like that she was locked in his home for days with not even a phone. It just bothered me and for someone who loves dark romance it almost feels weird that I couldn't connect or even muster enough energy to finish. Alas I think it was just one of those times this book wasn't on my wavelength so I definitely won't recommend not reading it. Give it a go and see if Jasper is more up your alley than mine!!
Amy Miles is the genre jumping queen! I can't even begin to understand how her mind works. But that's the beauty of it. She steps out of her comfort zone and delivered a book that's undeniably incredible and unforgettable! Jasper is complicated, cunning, loving, caring and ruthless all at the same time. It just depends on what side of the coin your looking at. You'll be turned upside down when you thought you were right side up. Jasper knew the moment he saw Aspen he needed her for far more reasons than she knew. Caught up in his world she tries to figure out what makes him Jasper. Intrigued by his strange and mysterious lifestyle, she struggles internally with a decision that will change her life as she knows it. It also doesn't hurt that he's dark, sinful, incendiary, with alluring good looks. Jasper is by far a 2017 must read. I can't wait to see what she has in store next.
WOW! While this wasn't what I was used to with an Amy Miles story, one thing was consistent with her other novels - her ability to keep me wanting more, unable to put the story down. Without giving away any spoilers, I wasn't sure if I loved Jasper or feared him. You know something isn't quite right. Women are found murdered, in horrific fashion. They all seem to be connected, but how? Jasper enters the picture and you aren't sure if he is a savior or the killer. One thing is unquestionable...Aspen can't seem to stay away. Will her obsession with him be her saving grace or her downfall...or a little of both? This story is filled with mystery and suspense, as well as a good dose of steaming hot romance. Jasper and Aspen will become the reader's obsession. *I was given an ARC of this story in return for an honest review. Honestly, I highly recommend it! I want more.
What can I say? Loved it! The story moved at a good pace and I found myself trying to figure out what was going on.. Let me tell you though... I thought I had an idea of what was going on but I was WRONG! There are some very interesting twists and I was left craving more at the end! I wasn't sure which direction the book was going to go in but I think it went the way it needed to. If you like a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and second guessing yourself this one is for you. I am hoping to see more like this from Amy in the future..
Fasten your seatbelts on this one! Lust, betrayal, love, vile murder, unexpected twists, violence, sex, all tied together in a tight & fast paced read. Highly recommend if you desire your read to be more than the same book you read last week with just different names. I don't write many reviews... the book has to be great in several ways, or phenomenally terrible. Only draw back >> just released 9-12-17 so now we wait for book two. I love finding new authors to feed my voracious reading list tho!
Brilliant!! I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this book and how it kept me guessing right up till the end. Aspen is an escort in London, totally hands off until she escorts Jasper and is very interested. As their story unfolds, so does murder, mayhem, dark pasts and secrets. You will be totally engrossed in the story and swept away with all of the twists and turns. This is a must to add to your reading list. Just fantastic !!!
Jasper is the perfect combination of suspense, romance, and down right sexiness. Jasper is so different from the other books that I have read by Amy Miles. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put it down. Jasper isn't a typical romance either and I think that's what makes it so much better. I really hope that Amy writes a follow up to this because I have to know more about Jasper and Aspen!
Wow! All the impact of a one two punch, uppercut and roundhouse kick, with the intoxicating finesse of fine silk. Every word a caress, every moment cemented, and every emotion electrocuted through your soul. Miss Amy sure knows how to bring the heat and the intrigue with this edge of your seat, mind blowing, mysterious tale. Every twist and turn had me guessing and that ending made me salivate for more. Intense and irresistible.
This was my first book by Amy Miles and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I thought it took a storyline that could have been very clichéd and added some great twists and turns that kept me guessing throughout. She created a very interesting character in Jasper, I wasn't sure what his angle was throughout the book or if I even liked him, but I was pleasantly surprised by the end. Definitely won't be my last read by the author.
Wow! Just wow! This novel was not what I expected at all. It hooked me from the first chapter. I was sucked into Aspen's life and her struggles. Jasper had me at hello. This novel truly surprised me and I was never sure what was going to happen. I can hardly wait to see what is in store next for these characters. I don't want to give any spoilers but will say read this and you won't be disappointed.
What a fantastic book! Amy Miles gives her faithful readers something she has not done before and slams one out of the ballpark. It is a mesmerizing, page turner that will literally have you holding your breath. Full of surprise turns. Loved this and cannot wait for a follow up to continue these fantastic characters! Well done, Amy!
What an explosive story. a must read. Murder, mystery, intrigue and obsession. Aspen a true walled up burned by the past kind of girl, meets a very introverted, very rich client. Jasper can't keep his eyes off her. All thought consumed by her. His tactful yet slow game of seduction has Aspen preening for him but is she getting in too deep??? Read and find out!!
This book was amazing! Aspen and Jasper have such an attraction to one another. The ending really thew me for a curve ball but I can't wait to see what happens next. Aspen and Jasper need one another so bad and I pray that they can make it in the next book. If these two don't end up together the book will ruin me!
AMAZING twist and such a different sort of vibe and story then I am used to from Amy. I love the mystery and intrigue and dark...this book ticked all those boxes for me. If y'all are looking for a great story line with plot twists that will keep you guessing then this is a MUST read!! Can't wait to get me an actual book for my shelf!!
WOW this book is the bomb and like a bomb it's full of explosions that will rock your world. A story of passion, sexiness and a dark past that will have you on the edge of your seat. This is one of the best books I have ever read and i honestly cannot wait to see where Aspen and Jaspers journey takes them next.
Great book. I loved it. it was sexy without being raunchy. I loved learning about jasper, He is mysterious, seductive and sexy as heck. I noticed it was book 1, I cant wait to see how this story unfolds.
I seriously loved this book so much. It was not what I was expecting and I loved how I hung onto every word that was written. This was definitely one of those books I couldn't put down. I can't wait for book two. Thank you for letting be apart of the ARC.
I loved this book !!!! Jasper is a must read. I could not put it down. It has everything. Suspense, love, hate. It will keep you on the edge of your seat to see what happens next. The only thing I didn't like about the book is that it had to end
