I like that this story shows children they all are valuable in God’s eyes and worthy of love. After all, Jesus readily accepted this servant boy.

This story is about a boy called Marciper. He is living in the time of Jesus and has a difficult life. He is a servant and his master is cruel to him. The boy feels he is not worth people’s love. One day Marciper gets to meet Jesus in the marketplace. Jesus is open to him and treats him with love and respect. A life-changing experience for the poor boy. The text is nicely written and is good at teaching about the love of Jesus. The illustrations are a little bit naif but are able to follow the narrative and help kids visualize and engage with the story. I good book to give to a child to learn about Jesus’s love and deeds.

Jesus marketplace marciper servant boy love

This could have been a true story for all you know. Marciper wants to see the man Jesus everybody is talking about. He gets a chance at the marketplace. And he is amazed when Jesus calls to him and asks him to sit on his lap. He is not even afraid of being late because he knows he is loved. I'm sure that was the effect Jesus had on everyone that met him. I hope there is more than one book

This is a lovely story showing the value that Jesus places on all people. It would be good as a way of talking about the equality that sits at the heart of true faith.

Positivity and enlightenment

I enjoyed the illustrations and colors in this book. The main character goes on a journey of discovering his own enlightenment. He also gains the knowledge and love of Jesus. An inspiring story.

Just A Servant is a short but sweet book about a poor servant boy. He goes to the marketplace and while there wonders if he will see Jesus. Jesus was there and the boy sees children gathered around Him. To the boy's surprise, Jesus speaks to him and accepts him even though he is a servant boy.
My daughters and I enjoyed this book. We would recommend it for kids around ages 3-7.

This book was a bit of a surprise for us as a family. My youngest two loved it. My oldest was on the fence, and I am sort of in the middle. It is a story that has a good message. The illustrations are very well done. But the story is just so implausible that I have a tough time personally enjoying it. Last year I reviewed a graphic novel, that had a modern rosary in usage 400 years before it existed. That inconsistency just stuck with me and made it very hard to enjoy the story. I feel the same way about this, there is no way a servant, even a child who was a servant would dawdle or hang out at the market when they had tasks to do. The punishment would likely have been severe. Also, in biblical stories names and their meanings are important. The main characters name is made up and from what I can tell has no meaning. Because of that I would only give the story 3/5 stars, but because my youngest two children loved it so much it gests bumped to 4/5 stars.

This is they story about a young servant named Marciper, he hates being a servant and that his master is cruel. Marciper is hanging out at the market trying to meet this 'Jesus', whom he keeps hearing about.

I asked my children to rate this book and this is what I got:
7 year old 5/5 Stars
10 year old 4.5/5 Stars
11 year old 3/5 Stars
Me 3/5 Stars

So, we rounded up to 4/5 stars. All three children really liked the illustrations. I cannot tell from the book if they are watercolors, marker or computer generated but they are bright, vibrant and lively. My son loves that Marciper gets to spend a whole afternoon with Jesus. And he loved that Marciper was no longer afraid of his master's anger because he knows his worth from spending time with Jesus.

Overall it is an interesting little picture book with a good message. Younger children will love it. And the illustrations on excellent. We would definitely be willing to read more from the author or illustrator.

Compelling story that will speak to children!

This is a short tale, but there is so much talent packed into it. I love the detailed descriptions which transport me right to the scenes described. I can taste the honey being sold in the marketplace!
I enjoyed reading the compelling story that conveys, in a way children will relate to, the love and compassion that Jesus has for us and how we will find rest in Him. The illustrations are wonderfully done. I look forward to reading more books by the author.

Very short but powerful book!

Just a Servant is a sweet story about a young servant boy who wishes to meet Jesus. The only negative I could say is that I wish the book was a bit longer.

Great story, though!

A short but sensitive tale about a young servant's encounter with the historical Jesus.

Marciper meets Jesus at a local marketplace. Up until that encounter, the young servant feels he is exactly that - a lowly worker for a difficult master. The two meet during a time when Jesus is already a target for controversy. Marciper is unconcerned with this; what affects him is the love he feels from this messianic figure.

Love is transformative - is the message of this ebook. Marciper leaves the encounter no longer feeling that he is a person of lesser value. The tale ends at that point, though it might well have gone on to.show how the experience of being valued changed Marciper's daily life. The writer could certainly have accomplished more with the theme and characters.

A work for younger children, this ebook might be good beginning content for those learning to read.

A well written and easy to read book which is perfect to read as a quick bed time story.
Using a tale of Marciper and Jesus, the tale shows kids how they don't have to fit in the box others believe they should and that they can be more than what others say they are.
The illustrations are bright and colorful and complement the story very well.
Highly recommended for children with a great message.

Nobody like Jesus!

Wonderful book about a boy who dreams of meeting Jesus one day. This book talks about the way Jesus love is unconditional and for all. Even when we think we are not deserving or worthy of his love (like Marciper), he amazes us every time. That’s why they say there is no one like him! Illustrations were great too, overall great book to add to your children’s library!

Sweet, Short Jesus Story

Very simple little story about a servant boy wanting to meet Jesus. They text reads more like a chapter book for older children, yet the story is short enough to read to younger kids. Kids ages 7-8 or older can possibly read it on their own.

Sweet!

Marciper a young boy goes to the market for his master. Believing he was only just a servant to his master he felt unworthy. He just wanted to meet Jesus! And once he did, he knew he was more than a servant. He was worthy!
