Paige assumed she could have the best of both worlds. She thought that she wouldn't have to choose where her loyalty lied. When she's placed in a position that could ultimately destroy the relationships in her life, Paige finds herself with her back against the wall. Deciding between what was right and what she loved, stirred up a feud that she knew was bound to happen. Paige attempts to make peace but when something disastrous occurs, she finds herself in a situation so detrimental that it could sacrifice her entire life.
Cali was trapped in a marriage so damaging that it stripped her self esteem. She's had enough with the mistreatment from her husband, and finally decides to call it quits. But when her husband refuses to sever their marriage, Cali is fearful of her life. She wants to walk away but everywhere she turns, it seems as though he's right there waiting for her. He wants the ability to continue to control her, but Cali is fed up with his antics. She attempts to flee, but finds out that she may have run into the trouble she was desperately trying to escape.
Can Paige and Cali successfully manage the dilemmas in their lives, or will they become casualties in the battle of love?
Poor Paige...things with her and all relationships within her circle were lies and secrets....which ends in most times once they intertwined and meet the collusion is dreadfully painful. I give this read a true 3.5 stars.
This book by Charae was my least favorite because it seemed as if things went completely out of control which I think was unnecessary. I hate the way things ended with the best friends. Just didn't quite like the storyline much either. I kept losing interest and had to force myself to finish and once I got to the end smh I wished I would have just not finished it. I still love her stories and will continue buying her book but again this one wasn't her best work.
Ms. Lewis you did it again.. even tho Amazon was playing with the release date it was well worth the wait. I am not going to give a long draw out review but trust and believe this is definitely an excellent read
All that backs and forth just for it to end that way...disappointed. Paige annoyed me, Ryan was childish, and Cali was selfish. I knew her secret before it was finally fully revealed.
You're Not Easy To Love by Charae Lewis is a good read. I decide to take my time to reading this book. This book caught me an attention. This is my first time reading from this author. She did a good job.
I'm not going to say too much about this book. I enjoy reading this book because the storyline is on point. Omg, the characters are amazing but they're crazy. The end of book was sad and emotional.
I'll definitely continue support and reading more books from this author.
I really loved this book! The emotions and secrets had me so intrigued and it really wowed me. Cali and Paige got me in my feelings I highly recommend this book
Wow this was a great read to get out my slump...... I'm glad bizzy got what was coming to him. Damn Ryan. Pagie made me hate to love her and Cali has my heart the author did a great job
Loving someone is always a battle, but when love is hidden that's a war of it own. It's even crazier when the enemy that stands between that love is family. How do you love the love of your life and stay close to family?!? The characters in this story as constantly treading on thin ice, between trying to stay committed and a best friend, they find themselves in not so loving situation. Fear of being alone resonates all through Paige's relationships. On the one hand she wants her love's love and the other she wants her families love. Nothing seems to go right, but then just as the pages turn so do the chain of events. Anger changes the dynamics of her entire relationship. Jumping the gun and insinuating never helps either. Then ith Family pecking in your ear anything could transpire, putting Paige in a worse predicaments. That's when all hell breaks lose, love dwindles, trust is a constant battle, hell even friendships dismantle. I like Keon's character, how open he was with his feelings. I wouldn't call Cali weak, she just had to learn to come to terms with her situation. Some battles took a huge unexpected turn, that I wasn't prepared for. Charae always has way of flipping the script in her books. This one flipped me. I mean it went down on the end, Geesh!!
It's real hit or miss with Charae and these sad endings. This book was good, but I hate how it ended.
I hate that Keon and Paige couldn't be together. I hate that Paige ended up in jail right when she was about to startva new life. I wish she had gained some control before she almost murdered her friend in an uncontrollable rage. I think her and Keon may have been able to work things out. But he moved on, and her ass gonna be in jail for 10 years. That shit was fucked up. And as reckless as Ryan was, it's sad that Bizzy raggedy ass ended up being the one that killed him, because he found out about him and Cali. The whole shit was just fucked up.
That last thing caught me off guard though. I didn’t think for a second that Ryan was the one Cali was in love with. And he loved her too. He was a hoe, but probably because he couldn't be with the one he wanted. It's crazy how little decisions end up having huge ripple effects on people's lives. I got a little bit of a different perspective on Ryan as a person based on how Cali said he loved her, but he did shoot Teddy, and karmas a bitch.
It ain't the authors fault, but I was mad how this ended. I didn’t expect Paige to really go nuts and fuck shit up even more.

Tashae and both her kids were dumb and had issues. Paige was trying to be so grown but still had the mentality of a child. I understood the relationship she shared with Ryan but damn! She pissed me off even more when she didn't believe Keon. She was everything but a child of God while I was reading. Keon was a good dude that let certain things fly out of his mouth. I felt for Cali. It seemed that no matter which way she turned she couldn't get any peace. Bizzy needed some help because he believed whatever he did was justified. Kye stepped in just in time and I'm glad he took a chance to stop holding on to one situation and allowed himself to see where another would go. Paige put herself in the position she was in because she had a choice. The choice to walk away as well accept that her childish behavior caused her more problems than she cared to have. Paige and Cali both found themselves in positions where they weren't easy to love which in turn determined their path. I'm glad some happiness came about and really enjoyed this read.
Bravo Bravo Bravo!!!!! This author never ceases to amaze me ALL her books are good and I enjoy reading them. It was a lot of hurt, deceit and betrayal but I loved it. Paige was indeed torn between the two. Ryan and Keon was at odds and I wished they had a chance to hash their differences. But they both were strong willed and hard headed. Ryan though he was invincible and thought it was game. Cali should've tossed the phone right along with her infidelities. I wish things could've worked out for Keon and Paige but it was just too much. Kye and Cali needs their own story he seems to be a good dude. I laughed at Tashae bringing in Chihuahuas to a Pit Bull fight lol
Man... One thing about his author is that she does not disappoint. She has a given talent and you can tell by everything she puts out. This book has a lot of emotions. I was shocked at the way some things played out. I love that the characters in the book was developed. I also loved the fact that it was a standalone because many authors seem to veer off from that. I love that all questions were answered and it wasn't left with any "what ifs". I cannot wait to read the next book she comes out with.
If I could give this 1000 stars I would! Charae gave thru with this story! She penned a web a of deceit from both sides of the coin and she did it with ease. Her growth is shining and I’m so proud of her! I felt like Paige was dumb but then my heart went out for her because I couldn’t imagine being placed in a predicament she was in. Cali finally broke free and found love but she harbored an ugly secret that ruined the lives closest to her. Read this story you will not be disappointed at ALL!
This Story pulled at my heart sheesh. Paige had it hard from the jump. She couldn't love her man the way she wanted because of her brother and the beef he had with him. Then her being a Friend to Cali backfired because Cai had to hide a secret that caused Paiges brother to be killed. It was just a hole bunch of wrongs and with that folks suffered big time. Charae you did an amazing job developing the characters and story line. It was an awesome read and I recommend this to anyone. I loved it
This author is very talented. I remember after reading about Asia and Dinero, which was the first book I read, I wanted to get into that book and do some damage, but this one.....hmmm she's so good at her craft that you actually feel like the characters in the book is alive. Her detailed descriptions allows you to see how very handsome the males are, feel their hurt, the anger, smell the cologne...I loved this book keep up the great job
Man this book had me all in my feelings. This was a great read. I felt bad for Cali throughout this whole book. She was dealt a bad hand. I hate that Paige accused Keon oh killing her brother. Or the fact that Ryan had to accuse Keon of killing Logan. In the end it was sad how their friendship ended, but good that Cali found love at the end if it all. Really great book Charae!!!!
This book had my attention from the first chapter. Tashae is the mother from hell, just terrible. I knew Cali was hiding something from the beginning. Bizzy would've caught a bullet years ago. Paige was entirely too comfortable playing victim. Even though keon had a smart mouth, he was the type of man every woman needs. The family dynamics in this book deserve professional help.
Charae Lewis has proven over and over again how dynamic her pen game is and this was no different! It actually has heightened to a higher level! It was so much drama, hurt and love that I was dreading to see the outcome! All I can say is I pray we see Paige in a future book ! Love isn't easy but it should be able to conquer all!
This book is in a lane of its on. You can always depend on Charae for a good plot twist. Cali & Paige would have been better off had they not kept secrets so detrimental to the relationship. Keon and Kye are both bae. Bae!!!! This was another amazing read penned by one of the most talented authors I've ever read. Highly suggest!
Charae I'm so hurt and sad I could never see this story turning out this way at all. Ryan had me mad not wanting to forgive his sister and now the death and lies with secret, broke up Paige and Keon relationship. My heart deep at the end wow Paige and Cali never saw this coming so sad
Omg this book took me on emotional rollercoaster. I cried, I was angry and a whole lotta hate going on. These characters were going thru so much sheesh. Charae i expected nothing less than a 5 star banger from you and it's exactly what i got. The story flowed well left no unanswered questions. Great job Charae.
This book was good, bad and ended ugly. I just knew Keon and Paige would make it. Cali and Ryan wasn't a surprise to me. I figure her secret out. I just wished things would have worked out so different. We need a book 2 Charae Lewis. How does life continue for Keon and Cali after Paige's alter their lives.. What will Paige life be after she has done her time?
This could have been great. Not one sympathetic character in the bunch. Ryan was an ass. Tashae was a bitch. Paige a brat. Cali a simp. Keon an asshole. Bizzy an asshole deluxe. The ending was trash and the way Paige was written came out if nowhere. Not good. Then the author attempted to wrap it all up with a pretty bow. No bueno.
Not gna lie wish it ended different I’m mad Paige basically got the short end of the stick in all this. Her best friend should have said something once he passed away. I didn’t think it would end like that but it was really good. Your books gets better and better each time.
WOWWWWWWW!!! One of the best books I’ve read this year. The twists had me on the edge of my seat and the ending had me clutching my pearls. This was a great read.
Man, this was a good book but..... is there a sequel? I even liked the ending; it’s just that I don’t think that Paige got a fair shake. I know that she messed up but everyone put her in the middle of their mess and she ended up holding the bag. I need her to have a completed story.
I just didn’t get it. It was pointless. All of it. There was no pleasure in this book. I know they were in their 20’s but dang. Not one situation was resolved like an adult. Not one. Chile thank goodness you got better at story telling.
I didn't expect things to turn out like they did. I felt bad for Paige going through all she went through. I wish she would have had a little more faith in Keon but I understood her apprehensions. I'm glad Cali left Bizzy and found true happiness.
Well written as these characters made the title come to life. Anger, misinformation & non communication caused chaos and grief. This was really a great read with relatable content & another spectacular cover
