New Adult Romance author. Reading was my earliest passion, often seeking the sanctuary of my room or the library to read everything I could get my hands on. I penned romantic poetry in high school and was winning school awards for my short stories at 16. In college I would hibernate in the library for days at a time, consuming every short story and novel I could find.

I probably drink too much coffee and eat too much junk food, but to compensate do like running and rollerblading outdoors when the weather is nice. I'm a hopeful romantic who prefers stories with a happy ending. You can often find me in a library or coffee shop working on my next story, or with my nose in a book.

Unbelievable..

Why is the title of this book '......Romance'. It is not by any stretch of imagination. The H and h, were competing with each other on who will make who jealous most. They also seriously were 0sleeping with other people. The dialogue was childish and immature. I didn't read any rock scenes in this book. It was so short, I read it in an hour. The H and h were unlikeable. Actually all the characters are. So, this is supposed to be a four book series. Seriously?

At the end of the first book you was left on such a cliff-hanger and I totally wasn’t expecting it to happen. But then again, when it comes to Clarissa Carlyle’s work you should always be prepared for anything. She has such a way with words that you just can’t wrap your head around everything until the very end, which I love because it will leave you thinking of the book for days after. Yet again, Clarissa hasn’t disappointed, she has wrote another amazing book for this series and things are only just heating up in here. I have no idea what is going to happen next, but I am very excited to see what Clarissa will bring us.

In this book you will find that out of no where Hailey has some new found confidence and she isn’t afraid to have a go at anyone who walks over her. I find this side of Hailey very interesting because so far we have seen a woman who is very shy and hardly has the confidence but is willing to fight for what she believes in. So, this side of her is a shock but it does suit her. I do feel for Hailey because it seems like things were going well for her with Jaspers account, they were both getting closer, but then everything gets ruined because her boss (Bill) and sort-of boyfriend (Matthew) don’t think that she can handle Jaspers account even though so far she is doing pretty well on it. Everything seems to change between them both just after one visit to her office and it looks like it has changed the path for both of them. I hope that they will be able to sort things out but honestly, you never know what exactly Clarissa is going to throw next into the works. My suggestion to you is to pick up this series and give it a read for yourself as honestly you are missing out by not reading it.

First of all I would like to thank the author for sending me a copy of this book.

I still like this story. The sexual tension is strong between them. I just wish they would both stop being difficult. Although, I'm sure it will continue to be this way until part 4. I'm just going to hope that neither one does anything too stupid until then.

Jasper and Hailey's journey continues as Jasper is injured and he wants Hailey to nurse him back to health. She is beginning to feel undervalued as her boss wants to replace her with another PR manager but Jasper quickly puts an end to that idea however there is a caveat involved that forces Jasper to back away and now they both have people in their lives that seem to have ulterior motives.

The tone and pacing of the narrator draws you in and makes listening a pleasurable experience.

Great second part to Hailey and Jasper's story. For people that are in the business of using words to ilict emotions and feelings, they are terrible at communicating with each other! Still, I love the characters - especially the ones like Matthew that I think is a major snake - and am looking forward to the next part.

We return to the story of Jasper and Hailey. Jasper is in the hospital after being hit by the taxi. Hailey is frantically worried about him, yet still has time to work the PR angle in his favor. It starts out with true potential for a deeper connection. However, that lasts about as long as Jasper's painkillers. The two continue circling around each other. They are attracted to one another, but find reasons not to be together. Disappointing.

Once again I am frustrated by this series. My complaint in book one was answered. There is more depth in this book. We have gotten to know the characters much more. The phrase be careful what you wish for, springs to mind. Hailey is one of the most frustrating females I have ever encountered in a book. She's smart, good at her job, yet she has no sense. Matthew is sleazy, so obvious, and even though her mind wanders when they are kissing, she still hasn't figured him out. Plus the whole frumpy dressing aspect doesn't work for someone who wants to be taken as a professional. She's too smart for these behaviors. It's irritating. And Jasper. How can one man be so shallow? Even when he's trying to be a good guy and not risk Hailey's future career, he still can't keep his pants zipped. Why would I believe for a second that he really feels anything for Hailey beyond lust. And that he has no problem getting from any other female he crosses paths with. He didn't slow down for a minute after getting hit by a car. His man-whore ways make him super unattractive to me. I'm not sure how much more I can take of these two. The remainder of the cast are unpleasant as well. Jasper's bandmates share his man-whore ways. Hailey's boss Bill is chauvinistic and demeaning, Matthew is slimy (already mentioned, but can't be repeated enough). Jasper's new love interest is disgusting and won't even be mentioned since she just wants the publicity. I can say that if he does hook up with her, I hope he finds himself in an even worse situation than the one that landed him needing PR in book 1. He has been warned, but if his ego doesn't allow him to listen, then I can have no sympathy. The security guard Sam seems fine and once again Carl is a lovely man. Unfortunately, he has not rubbed off on Jasper.

I find myself torn. I want these characters out of my life. However, I need to know that they grow up, redeem themselves. I want to know how it all plays out. I will read the next book and hope that the payoff is worth it.

My thoughts on the first part were :

I have a bad feeling where this journey is going to be honest – I liked the Blurb and started reading but already during the first pages I got the feeling that I would be having an issue here.

The characters were lacking depth and were simply acting immature (to be honest they were acting simply stupid) the dialogues were on the level of High School and so predictable that it almost hurt.
But I was thinking I will finish this because at some point this will have to get better – right ? – now the book is finished and I am not so sure – I think the only reason I finished this book was because it was so short …BUT I will try the second one before my final vote …

WELL and here I am again and what can I say the book developed #sarcasm
It still is all the things I mentioned above about the first part and now it adds “unbelievable” to the collection … and this happens in a way that I had to give up not only on finishing this 4 book series but already the finishing of the second part here . It was a DNF at around 70 % then skimming through the pages until I reached the end to make sure I do not miss any mayor breakthroughs

The blur already tells you that the male lead gets hurt so no mayor spoiler here from my side but in case you dislike spoilers do not read further

those two issues added on top of the rest and I had to give up on this story – sorry

Managed 2: A Rock Star Romance
Managed, Book 2
By: Clarissa Carlyle
Narrated by: Laurie West

Clarissa Carlyle continues to suck me into the lives of Jasper and Hailey with book 2 of her Managed series. Circumstances and cognizant decisions are keeping these two apart! It is so frustrating they cannot see what is right in front of them. Or do they? Jasper is doing his best to keep her at arms length and it's pushing her into another! But the chemistry is still sizzling, and Hailey is still doing her best to build his image despite anything that is coming to light. Great characters, and a fun plot has me invested in the outcome of this couple. Another cliffhanger has me loading book 3!

Laurie West continues to bring her magic to the narration of this series. Love her Aussie accent, and I am really enjoying her voices. She is smooth and easy to listen to.

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. This second book follows seamlessly book one. I couldn't stop listening. Although Hailey and Jasper are so frustrating, I have to see what they are up to in order to make it to the end. I just hope neither of them does something stupid that they can't recover from. Hailey is such an innocent and Jasper has a bit of innocence to him as well. However, bringing in Matthew (the douche) and Jasper's latest (the slut) adds a little spark to this story. The ending of this book puts the listener on pins and needles until the next book. The narrator does an excellent job with telling this story and the emotions involved.

While their fantasies are hot, I really wanted to biff the both of them. Jasper and Hailey are their own worst enemies. Matthew seems like a slime ball and I'm just waiting for that shoe to drop. Gah! This cliffhanger is tamer than the last but I still want to know what's coming next. Onto the third installment. I like the narrator but the accents seem a little off sometimes.

Luckily Jasper didn't die from the cab hitting him, but he does have a broken arm and cracked ribs. He gets Hailey to take care of him at his apartment even though she doesn't feel like she should. Her boss wants to take her off Jasper's account and put Matthew on, but Jasper tells him he will leave the firm if he does. Her boss reminds Jasper that if Hailey has any kind of relationship with Jasper besides professional she will be fired. Things start to change between the two.

I am really upset with Jasper in how he is treating Hailey now. I really don't like who Hailey is leaning on. I think there will be more trouble for the two of them before everything is over. I can't wait for the next book to come out as I am really loving this series! I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

the chemistry is so strong between Jasper and Hailey. but Jasper Knows He Can't Be involved with Hailey without risking her job. He knows how much she needs this job. So he decides to give Autumn a chance. Little does he know that she is bad news. She might pretend to be little goody goody but she is a wild bad news girl underneath. She is basically using Jasper. On two separate occasions Hailey hears Autumn reveal her bad side. When she tries to warn Jasper he totally ignores her and thinks she is just jealous. Then there is Matthew. I don't trust him at all. He doesn't think Hailey is good enough to take on a client like Jasper. So far she has been doing a great job but Matthew won't admit that. ,Jealous much?.? But seeing how Autumn is getting her claws in Jasper I Can't to see how Hailey protects his image and shows everyone what a really good PR does.

This is the second book in the Managed, A Rock Star Romance series and it’s as good as the first. It’s a short read but the characters are very well developed and you get to know them even more in this book. Hailey is working on Jasper’s reputation after nude photos of him hit the social media. The problem is that Hailey and Jasper have this attraction for each other. The more Hailey gets to know Jasper she knows he wasn’t what his reputation was and it worried her as she was starting to have too many feelings about him. Meanwhile, Jasper also was having feelings for this very plain Jane. The story revolves around Jasper and Hailey and of course another cliffhanger. The cliffhanger works, I could wait to read the next book.

So this is the continuation from Managed 1 and again there is a cliff hanger. As in the first one there are times I like Jasper and times I want to just slap him upside his head. He really needs to decide his feelings towards Hailey and stop trying to still be the rock star.
I still don't like or trust Matthew.
Hailey is getting stronger in this storyline but she continues to allow those voices in her head to cause her doubts. She should definitely not trust Matthew.
I really can't wait to see where this goes and I enjoy the development of Hailey's character.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review,

This book starts where book 1 leaves us off on that little cliff-hanger. The story continues and you feel like it will go the way you are hoping up alas the Rock Star changes course again to protect someone other than himself. Hailey is torn between two men one giving her the attention and one that gives her the right kind of feelings. I received a free copy of the book and have voluntarily written an honest review. These are great short stories that will entertain you if you don’t have to time to read a full novel and I just can’t wait for number 3 and 4 to see where this author will take these characters in the future.

Story is getting better, Jasper is recovering and Hailey is the only one he wants around, but things get more and more complicated, when Jasper thinks Hailey's so-called user boyfriend Matthew is on the scene, and he reverts to his old ways, so all progress that were made between Jasper and Hailey was thrown out the window. There are 4 short stories planned for this, and honestly, I would have preferred a full book to read, the writing is excellent and the storyline is intriguing, but the waiting between them may turn off readers. If that's something that would bother you, then I'd wait for the full series to be released.

It was good that Clarissa didn't let us wait too long for the second book. Jasper survived the accident with the cab quite good and he stands up for Hailey when her boss wants to take his account away from her. Her boss warns him that if she'll lose the job if she makes out with him so that's when he decides that he needs to play the bad rock star to keep her from falling for him. I didn't like that it's another open end but I hope both Hailey and Jasper will learn that the partners they've chosen aren't the right ones for them.

I liked more this one than the first, the story went smoothly from the beginning when they were in the "honeymoon" period, until the very end when they were in each other's throat.

I gotta say I didn't like the fact the h accepted being with that Matthew guy just to forget Jasper. It was really out of the blue, she hated him and he abuses her. I didn't get it. Also Jasper going back to his old ways just to protect the h didn't seem believable.

But I really enjoyed and couldn't put it down. can't wait for the next installment!

After Jaspers injury, Hailey became closer to him. Bill, Her boss, didn't think she can't handle his account. He wanted to transfer the account to Matthew. That didn't set well with Jasper. Bill made sure to let Jasper know that if he gets involved with Hailey, she would lose her job. Hailey couldn't understand the sudden disconnect from Jasper. Hailey starts to lean on Matthew who has his own agenda. This series adds more complications that kept me wanting more!
Laura West narration is great. She brings all the emotions to this story. I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review

The...

The story picks up right where it left off in Managed 1. Hailey is getting more hung up on "good Jasper," when "bad Jasper" returns suddenly. She is going to find it hard to deal with this version of him. Matthew has made a move on her...will she fall for him? She is showing more strength and confidence now, but not enough to deal with everything quite yet.
Alot of background leading up to the next book, which will hopefully be out soon!

Managed 2: I loved the continuation of this story! Hailey and Jasper are perfect for each other. I like how he shows her that she can feel pretty about herself and not feel slutty. I love the challenges they went through and it was a wonderful romance. I didn't like the head games that Matthew played. I just wanted to slap him. I love how it was written.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

This is the 2nd book in the series.

Although it can be read as a standalone, this is one series that you will want to read all the books.
Hailey and Jasper are confused, a kiss leads to Jasper being hit by a car. She goes above and beyond her role of PR for him, but will it damage her career? Or will jasper cut ties with her?

A great second book wanting me to jump straight into book 3

This story is so sweet and heartbreaking at the same time (especially compared to book 1). I still loved this story even with it's sad and miserable moments. I can't believe some of the turns this story has taken and I can't wait to find out what's going to happen with Hailey, Jasper and their messed up love triangle next.

This installment is very good. The storyline has more depth and the characters are becoming more familiar to the reader, albeit they still have annoying traits. I sure hope Managed 3 will have the H/h come to their senses and show more personal growth. I received a complimentary copy and this is my honest review.

Managed 2

Part two is gripping! This couple cannot seem to get with the program. Each one doing what they think is in the others best interest. Unfortunately this just drives them further apart.

I cannot wait to read part 3.
