Lord Elron Paxton is a fae prince—one of many. Bored with the never-ending politics of the Fae Court, he takes a dare to enter the human world. Elron gives his bodyguards the slip, finds a fun gay club, and prepares for a night of revelry. Unfortunately, Elron wakes in a dirty room crowded with other men. He finds himself stuck there for days, weighing the pros and cons of revealing his true nature to a number of humans—something against fae law—just to save himself. When a crow shifter appears outside the window, Elron hopes he’s found an alternate way of saving not only himself, but those stuck in the room with him—even if they do think he’s nuts for talking to a bird. Can he trust the crow to get help before the men who kidnapped everyone sell them on the black market…or will he have to break fae law to save them, sentencing himself to certain death?
Is Charlie Richards running out of shifters, vampires and gargoyles? Well I suspect she is as she has incorporated demons and the horsemen of the apocalypse in one of her other series.... And here, she pushes yet an other mythical paranormal to the front... the fae.
Finishing off all of Charlie Richards mastodont series is one of my goals for 2020. Not because these are the best, but because I’m a bit OCD about not finishing off series and they have been nagging at my conscious for a while now. So, whenever I feel like reading some relaxing (but rather mindless) stories I’ll dig in to my Charlie Richards pile.... I’m guessing there will be some more before I get back to work on the 8th....
I found that the way the Crow (Castor) met his fae mate (Elron) was simply adorable. The situation that Elron was in at the time was absolutely harrowing, however, I loved the idea of a little crow shifter saving the day. The story was well done with a bit of danger and intensity. Oh and Ryan, the human sniper, was just always prepared and awesome with what he does. Loved him. Overall, this was definitely enjoyable and I'm on to the next book, reading til I catch up with the whole series. =)
On a massive re-re-read of Charlie Richards' Stone Ridge world series. As stand alones these short stories and novellas are usually a 3/5 , With talented use of stereotypes, quick short plot arcs and descriptive writing they are fun to read. There is the occasional clunker coming in at a 2 due to gaps and unfinished mini plot elements. However, when read in series, they become a bit more as the world elements and overarching plots add depth.
I'm so happy Kontra's Menagerie has been brought back!
Like many of Charlie Richards series this is a paranormal series revolving around Alpha Kontra's merry band of bikers. This one picks up right after the last and revolves around a crow shifter named Castor and Elron. A bet sends Elron to the human realm and a carelessly accepted drink has him captured by the Copperhead motorcycle gang. Castor intervenes and perhaps the scumbag biker gang will be broken.
I never write reviews for books! This book warrants one. I love this book so much but I give it a five star. She knocked it out of the ballpark and makes being want to continue to read more of her work. I read all of the Konrta's Menagerie, a paranormal love nip, and wolves of stone ridge
We get to meet a new kind of paranormal in this story, the fae. Elron is rescued by Kontra's gang as well as his shifter mate. The story ends with the obligatory sexy times and HEA.
