Picture-perfect Evergreen, California, nestled on the shores of Reindeer Lake in the snowy Sierras, is the perfect place for a no-strings holiday fling with a gorgeous Latin lover. Workaholic Kimberly Michaels didn't come to Evergreen only to enjoy herself, though; she's there to consummate a development deal in which her company will take over the town -- whether the town wants it or not. Ricco Maza, whose sister owns the quaint B & B where Kim is staying, may be the hottest man she's ever met (and the only one who can persuade her to relax enough for an orgasm!) but if he discovers why Kim is in town, she'll soon be finding more coal and switches than kisses in her Christmas stocking. And as Kim's frosty winter nights steam up with her sexy Santa, she realizes she's going to have to make a choice. Is winning the deal truly the most important thing in life, or will this jaded cynic let Santa finally give her a little taste of Christmas magic?

In the mood for a little erotica to heat up your holidays? Karin Tabke’s latest book with a Christmas theme, “Have Yourself a Naughty Little Santa”, might be just the thing. This story is true erotica as the story line progresses, in part, due to the sexual activities of the two main characters. So if a lot of sexual acts, described in explicit terms, offends you, this is one you will want to pass up.
Kim is the corporate shark for a real estate developer out of L.A. She’s been hurt in the past by two different ex-husbands and so has determined to keep her heart safe and locked away. It’s every woman for herself and she sees no need to hide that. When her boss suggests a ‘merger’ of a more personal sort, contingent upon her success in an upcoming land deal, she figures ‘what the heck’. He’s a male version of her and she certainly won’t have to worry about having deeper feelings for him. Now all that’s left is for her to sew up the town of Evergreen in a nice, tidy package—and the handsome sex god she’s beginning to have feelings for? Well, surely she’s savvy enough to use him for information and hot sex and walk away.
Ricco is a cop with commitment issues and wanderlust. He knows his problems stem from his Dad’s desertion, but it doesn’t really bother him. He has no problem getting women and always makes sure they know up front that it’s not going anywhere…except the nearest surface that makes hot, sweaty sex possible. When he develops a craving for Kim it bugs him a little. When he realizes he’s craving ONLY Kim, it pisses him off. So what will he do when he finds out that Kim is an employee of the company that’s trying to ruin his hometown?
Tabke makes a great effort to involve her readers in more than just a story about sex. “Have Yourself a Naughty Little Santa” includes a bit of mystery and mild violence when the charming town of Evergreen suddenly suffers from a crime wave that may, or may not, have something to do with Kim’s boss’ company. There’s also an entwining story about Ricco’s family and their scoundrel of a patriarch. But the meat of this book is the connection between Ricco and Kim and their attempts at something more than ‘just sex’.
The problem with their relationship is that the whole thing is written to occur in just one week. That’s an awful lot to ask with two hard core commitment-phobes. I never really believed that they felt deeply for each other. The words were there, but the actions…not so much. It was just too hard to believe that these two could and would change so much in such a short period of time. In addition, for an erotic tale, the happy ending for all the subplots and everyone in the town was just more than I could swallow!
In “Have Yourself a Naughty Little Santa”, Karin Tabke has given us a hot hero and heroine who almost never miss a chance to have down and dirty sex. If that’s what you’re looking for, you’ll love this book. The added bonus of a Christmas theme and the idea of an Adonis in a Santa suit certainly heated up my evening. But if you’re looking for an erotic story with a meaningful relationship…eh, not so much.
This book turned out to be so much more than I thought it would be. I thought it would be just another light, hot, but fluffy holiday romance, but I was so wrong. Yes, it was hot, but there was a real story behind it about a commitment-phobe hero and a jaded, cynical heroine who both learn to open their hearts, face their fears, and embrace love for the first time in their lives.
Gorgeous Latino Ricco Maza is a detective from San Jose, CA, but every year he comes back to his adopted hometown of Evergreen, just outside of Reno, Nevada near the Sierra Nevada mountains, to visit his family who still lives there. He's got a mom, sisters, and nieces and nephews who all love and respect him and treat him like the family patriarch, and many of the town's women adore him as well, even though he's romanced and dumped many of them. They all know though that he's got a serious case of wanderlust (just like his estranged father who Ricco despises) and could never be tied down to one woman for long, but no one can resist his charm for long.
Evergreen is a town that's sort of in a time-warp. Besides being unbelievably quaint and picturesque with cute shops and bed and breakfasts, there's no crime (the resisdents leave their doors unlocked), everyone knows each other and they all love their community and strive to make it a wonderful place in which to live. They like their town the way it is, and never want to see it over-developed or become a big resort town. They rely almost exclusively on tourism, especially during the holiday season, to provide the income to survive the rest of the year. But consecutive years of bad weather and the looming recession have taken a toll on the town's finances, and many of the residents are on the brink of bankruptcy. The town is ripe for a takeover, and that's where Kimberly Michaels comes in.
Thirty-eight year old workaholic Kimberly is a take-over specialist. She works for a land development company that often takes over properties and develops them for other purposes. Her boss (and future fiancee) wants to take over the town of Evergreen (whether the residents want it or not) and develop it into a resort area complete with casinos. Rich-girl Kimberly is a two-time divorcee, marrying losers each time who were only interested in her parents money and social connections, and her impending engagement to boss-man Nick Gold is hardly a love match either. Marriage to Nick would be more like a corporate merger, complete with oodles of money and social power. Since Kimberly's given up on finding true love, she might as well grab what she can while she can. Kimberly's headed to Evergreen to get the lay of the land and to see what she can find out. But she never expected to meet up with a guy who makes her come alive with desire and makes her wish for things she's never even considered before.
Ricco and Kim meet first at a Reno hotel, and spend a hot, hot night together, with no names exchanged. When Ricco awakes the next morning and finds Kim gone, he's a little miffed that she left first. That's HIS usual m.o. with a one-night stand. Imagine his surprise when he rescues Kim on a snow covered road and finds out she's not only heading to Evergreen, like him, but staying at his sisiter's Bed and Breakfast. Kim tells him she's a real estate agent looking for some property for a client, but Ricco's cop instincts kick in and make him believe she's hiding something. But what? Well, both are so attracted to each other that they decide to carry on their affair for Kim's duration in town. Each is okay with that, after all it's only sex, and what could happen in one week?
Well, plenty. Ricco's desire for Kimberly and only Kimberly, scares him big-time. He's never had the desire to commit to one woman before, and his feelings for Kim confuse him. And Kim NEVER had a lover like Ricco before, who makes her feel wanted for herself and not her money, and she tries hard NOT to fall in love with him. After all, she's got her future all mapped out, and falling in love with a sexy commitment-phobe is not part of the plan.
Things come to a head when Nick arrives in town and blows Kim's cover. Will Ricco forgive Kim for lying to him and his family? Will the town be saved in time for Christmas or will it be snatched up by the greedy developer? And will there be a future for two people who are so right for each other, but are so afraid to take a chance on love?
Something about this book made it very hard for me to put down. At first I didn't like the heroine all that much--she was just too cynical and sometimes rude. But once she got to Evergreen and was around the influence of the locals, she started to soften, and I started liking her a lot more. And Ricco--what a sexy hero! Even though he was basically the town stud, you couldn't help but love him. He was good to his family, a responsible guy, and his love scenes with Kim were smokin' hot, including one where they make good use of his handcuffs... Ricco was even hot dressed up in a Santa suit! I loved seeing their desire for each other turn into love, even though it took them forever to recognize what it was. I was rooting for Ricco and Kim all the way, and I was hoping he'd have the courage to take the leap and lay his heart on the line.
This book was filled with colorful characters and vivid descriptions of the town, so it made you feel like you knew the residents and their beautiful little town. Some of Ricco's police buddies and their wives from previous books made cameo appearances, including Jade and Jace from "Jaded", Ty and Phil from "Good Girl Gone Bad", and Reese and Frankie from "Skin" were briefly mentioned too. This book was headed for 4 1/2 stars for me until the end, when Ricco's no-account dad did something that I thought was out of character and I didn't fully buy into it. I also thought the ending was just a little rushed and too pat, but other than that, I was very, very satisfied. If you like a hot, hot romance with a complex H/H, vivid character descriptions, and a feel-good HEA, then you'll love this book. I certainly did--4 stars!
Found this author at walmart of all places- and from the cover I wasn't sure what to expect -- Then after the IST chapter well I really thought it would be AN erotic BOOK - BUT what it was -was a very good steamy romantic read. no dull moments - A melting pot of steamy hot stuff- very good plot- mixed with a sweet little love story. 5 stars.
Much like the Christmas movies I find myself watching at this time of year, this story has plot holes, and cheesiness...and is completely wonderful. It was just what I needed.
I only picked up this book because I read a short story by this author, and I really had no expectations about it going in. I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I should preface it by saying that from the first page the story was very predictable, but it didn't matter because the story was so charming. I even found myself laughing while reading.
Kim and Ricco had some explosive chemistry! Meeting with a one night stand in book land just means that the other person is just bound to reek havoc in your life later and that is just what happened with them. Both of them have serious commitment issues and watching them navigate around those issues was fun. At first they are ok with it just being sex, then one or the other of them gets their buttons pushed and they run, but they seem to keep coming back to each other like a magnet.
We also have a crazy town that is Christmas on steroids, with all sorts of quirky people, along with Ricco's large family, who all seem to baby him as he is the only boy and the baby of the family.
If you are looking for a fun, hot read, make sure to check this one out!
