"Does the name Bad Omen mean anything to you?" Lindy Lindemann always thought she would like to work in a library. Instead, she’s a police dispatcher using her abilities as a precognizant to help the people who call her and feed information to the police when she can. One by one, the high-ranking witches in the city start being picked off, and after every murder, a man identifying himself only as A calls to let her know it’s him. With the police quickly running out of leads, Lindy is brought in to work with the lead detective. Lindy discovers that these killings are connected to the murder of a family that happened over ten years ago. The only problem? The person that Lindy suspects is Staff Sergeant Siobhan Cockburn, the one who brought her into this in the first place. Now, Lindy not only has to stop A from killing anyone else, but she also has to prove that Cockburn isn’t what she appears before A adds them both to his list.

And the third time in a row, the author struck a chord with yet another amazing story. I could not love this series any more than I do. This book is about Lindy, but it builds on the events from Shadow Maker, so Dieter, Lenna and some of the other characters are present, which was great. I was not ready to say godbye to Dieter.
Lindy is a seer, so the tone is slightly different from the previous two books, but perhaps a bit more intense, as Lindy is a very intense person with some anger issues. I cannot even decide anymore which of the characters is my favourite, as they are all so different and lovable in their own way. So as with the previous book, I completely fell in love with Lindy this time. And Lenna, of course.
The plot is a fantastic crime solving puzzle, written impeccably and beautifully executed, with an interesting twist in the end. Characters are so consistent and well developed, I started anticipating their actions a while ago. This series contains a rare and incredible set of wonderful, realistic, and lovable characters, set in a believable and realistic world. And did I mention how much I love the author's Epilogues?
Reading order of the series is: Rise: Morrighan House Witches Book Zero, Shadow Maker: Morrighan House Witches Book One, and Bad Omen: Morrighan House Witches Book Two. I hope there will be more.

Bad Omen reminded me of the movie The Call and television show Pretty Little Liars rolled into one with an paranormal twist. This book kept things interesting and flowing with lots of twists to make you think. The German names were a bit difficult and I felt the hero could have been a bit more nicer to her partner, a bunch of times she seemed hostile with him because he wasn't from her "world" when it wasn't his fault. All in all it was creative, mysterious and suspenseful. Based on content this book is rated for young adults and older. I am an independent reviewer for Romance Authors That Rock and I am giving this book 4 hearts

Bad f$$king Omen!!!

Nothing short of spectacular! Lindy is a badass Seer from ancient times reincarnated into a petite, adorable, no nonsense woman who helps save people from bad tidings or even death. Lindy is on receiving end of horrible news and even worse situations that only she can deal with and solve. This book is an adventure and a HUGE rollercoaster that I couldn't put down. Luckily my kids played well for most of the day so I could read another of Lane's amazing works. This book is a must read!

Liked this one more than the first in the series, and I loved that one! The Morrighan House Witches is proving to be an interesting series. I had a hard time containing my glee at Lindy stating she's ace; I don't think I've ever read or seen a character state that, word for word.

This was soooo much more satisfying of a read than Shadow Maker for me. It felt seamless and kept it interesting and exciting! I can't wait to see what happens in book 3, which I assume will focus on Lenna. The many-years-passed epilogue's may actually be growing on me, I'm a fan!

I loved this book SO much! Lindy is such a fabulous character, and the story is truly amazing: well written, intriguing, full of suspense and mythology.

And Lena and Aldo are simply great. and the next book is about them, so guess what? I'm on my way to get it :P

"Bad Omen did not go down without a fight. Bad Omen didn't get talked down to. Bad Omen kicked ass."

Wow!!! Just wow!!! Definitely my favorite of Amir's works to date! What a good mystery; what a good character. I love Lindy and her badassery and her job and how she compensates for things never going quite right.

Amir has really improved in terms of plot and pacing. While Shadow Maker was good, the ending felt rushed. This is absolutely an improvement!

And what fun characters. I liked the addition of Dick especially-- a skeptic "normal" to act as a foil for Lindy, but he didn't overstay his welcome and when shit started hitting the fan, he didn't play the annoying ignorant-- he started accepting and believing. He acted as an audience surrogate to ask questions and learn more about the world, which was very helpful.

(I was also quite pleased to see a certain redheaded hex witch! :p )

Though he's in the story sparingly, I'm always pleased to see Ekkehart after finishing "Rise." It was fun to see how others viewed him and Shadow Maker as such powerful legends, too... I liked that addition. It expanded the world of witches considerably.

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to Lenna's book.
