Phew! Now, first of all this story is a true hommage to the hardcore fans of the TV series The Vampire Diaries

this story by a talented writer of fantasy, JP Uvalle , whose work I've been following from her beginnings/debut, is a part of a spin-off project called The Bennett Witch Chronicles , a series featuring all the characters you came to love in the above mentioned TY series...Damon Salvatore, Elena, Bonnie, Catherine, Alaric...and so on

It's an interesting concept to begin with and I have to say that I welcomed the idea with open arms, NOT cause I am a hardcore fan of The Vampire Diaries *hangs her head and looks around*, frankly I have only watched season 1 *gasps* and that was it, so I'm far from being an actual fan...

BUT regarding this story, if you take it out of the background context and read it without knowing who these characters really are...then the story given here, shows a sequence in a time span, a fantasy adventure of a frozen time, magic powers and mystic creatures, namingly one demon that took over a small town of Westbrook and turning it into a ghost town, with all the people in it, turned either into the ghosts themselves by either violent or natural death, and when a witch Bonnie Bennett goes onto her improvised journey, she suddenly ends up right there, pulled in by the restless ghosts and their call, she's slowly realizing the past events of 1967, through flashes of their memories and visions...
Bonnie helplessly watched this entity literally suck the life out of Westbrook like he did the townspeople, and turned this once breathtaking town into a place known as Hell on Earth.

and what truly happened to this town, its people and especially the crime that happened to end the lives of a young girl Abigail, and her mother, revealing their restless, yearning souls seeking justice for their tragically ended lives.
Through out the past timeline that Bonnie is experiencing, she calls in Damon Salvatore to help her, save the town, but they ended up trying to save their own lives...
They had one chance to right his wrong. One opportunity to breathe life into Westbrook that once was a community of togetherness and love. A town known for its open arm to travelers had unkowingly welcomed the evil in.

the events that transipre, leave the ending open, uncertain for the lovers -Damon and Elena, to ever get back to each other, but love always finds a way home
I would walk through fire, hell travel back in time. Anything to make my way back to you.

This was fun, refreshing and entertaining. I stated this just awhile ago in my Incubus review Snow's review of Incubus , in fantasy genre, anything goes....
the same applies here, but regardless the fact that I was, in fact, familiar with the characters from the series, you don't have to watch the TV show to enjoy this story, cause other than the same names the characters have like in the show, this story offeres an alternate "reality/fantasy" independent of the mentioned series.

But as such, I needed just a little bit more deeper emotional development for Damon & Elena, (so I wouldn't rely on the notion of their epic love, known from the Vampire diaries series) other than that, I loved the action sequences, the imagination and description of the scenery and action are impeccable, but that's a known fact in JP's writing.

I was a big fan of The Vampire Diaries and Bonnie was my favorite character on the show. So needles to say I was so excited to read this new series from Kindle Worlds based on the Bonnie Bennett character. I have to say how impressed I was with this story by this new to me author. Her words captured me and I couldn’t turn the pages to see what would happen next. The authors visionary details had me feeling like I was right along the characters and I enjoyed the ride. Scenes played out in my head and I felt like I was in the story. This story did have some twist that I didn’t expect and certain parts had me gasping in shock. I had to re read things twice just to make sure I read it correctly. After reading this book I can’t wait to read the other story and catch up with Bonnie.

I was intrigued about this book because I knew that it was going to be slightly different from her other works and I do enjoy JP Uvalle’s writing style as it pretty unique and different to a lot of other authors. Some of you will notice that if you have read or watched The Vampire Diaries that this is a side series of the original series. I personally, have never watched it or read the books but I have heard of it.
I did enjoy this book and it did keep me reading until the end, but I felt like there was too much going on and that it would have been best to have it kept simplified instead of trying to get the reaction out of you. By getting the reader’s attention, sometimes it’s best to just go with simple and by putting a small twist on it will gain that wow factor that you are aiming for with the readers. It doesn’t mean to say that this story wasn’t good, because I know for a fact that JP has a really good writing style and the story was there, it was just a little overcomplicated at times. However, I’m sure that others will think differently from me, but that’s okay.

Let me start by saying, that even if you are not a huge VD fan, you will still enjoy the story, it is that well written!

J.P Uvalle has truly impressed me. Although I am a huge Vampire Diaries fan, I never really read any books in this genre. I think I will be reading a bunch more now, because she has really broadened my horizons!! I myself am such a fan of the characters and she wasn't just true to them, she made them shine off the pages!

Uvalle has a real talent for storytelling that had me hooked from the very first letter! I read the book in one sitting! Didn't even take a bathroom break!!!!

I don't want to give too much away, you will have to read it for yourself. BUT, trust me, you will thank me later!

I really enjoyed this I am a big fan of the show but have never read any of the books as the show is cancelled I figured I would give them a try. The author was true to the characters and really made them come alive this will not be the last book I will read in this series. If you loved the vampire diaries or even have never seen an episode I think you will really enjoy this.

Wow when I started reading this book I wasn't really sure if I was going to like this book although I love paranormal stories, that is why I wanted to read it and I was surprised to find that I loved the book and I can't wait to read more books by this author! Especially from this series, I really can't wait to find out if Bonnie finds her HEA and I also can't wait see what other mischief she finds herself in!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the first book I have read from this author I love this book. The characters are realistic with problems of their own they are trying to fix as well as help others along the way. This book is different than most stories where there is one conflict. This has personal conflict as well as an outside sources causing problems. You don't need to read the other books to read this one. You might want to read them to get a better back ground on the characters.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I previously loved the Vampire Diaries books as well as the TV series, so was eager to read any of the books from the new "Bennett Witch Chronicles" and I wasn't wasn't disappointed the book had plenty going on with bits from the series to a new adventure. The only reason I gave it 4 stars out of 5 is due to the length. So if you also enjoyed the Vampire Diaries your going to enjoy this book and this new series.

Loved it!

It was so GREAT to read about the gang of VD !!! This book gives us a look into all of the gang. The main focus is Bonnie, Damon, and Elena. The same chemistry between Bonnie and Damon definitely comes through in this book, as well as the love story of Damon and Elena. I believe all VD fans will enjoy this book. Of course what is a VD story without some kind of trouble, and the author has written a great story. The only issue I had with this book was the editing errors. It seemed as those it was read through so fast that so many errors were missed. I understand it happens and I have not let it effect my rating. I enjoyed the story far to much to let it effect the rating.

I feel like I read a different book than everyone else here who reviewed but I have to say while I liked the writing style of the author, I was very disappointed by the outcome of the story. It wasn't actually a Bonnie story at all. It was a Bonnie saves Delena yet again story and I frankly had enough of that during 8 seasons of TVD. Even the epilogue was about Damon and Elena and their so-called "great love". This had so much potential but failed to deliver.

love the Bennett Witch Chronicles!
I loved the characters and the story line. The ending was slightly disappointing and the story a little bit to short.

I choose a three since it sounds like it was based off the TV series Vampire Diaries. Didn't like this one as much, but still love the author.

I love the Bennett Witch Chronicles! Wonderful continuation from the Vampire Diaries, following up on things that happened in the final season. If you can't already tell by the titles on these stories, Bonnie Bennett is the main character, but several of the characters from the TV series make appearances. Bonnie takes a rode trip in this story, beginning to enjoy her life on her own and keep her promise to Enzo to live her life to the fullest. She gets drawn to a small town of Westbrook that is a ghost town. It seems to be frozen in time after a demon took over and he murdered the citizens or they died of natural causes. Through a ghost, a journal and flashes of memories that aren't her own, she pieces together the puzzle. Damon comes in to help her and a crazy adventure ensues. Somehow no matter how hard Bonnie tries to live a more normal life, paranormal/magical drama always seems to find her. She is still a kicka$$ witch who comes out the winner. If you never watched the TV series, there is enough information provided to read this world of books anyway. I am just so excited to be able to continue to keep up with all the awesome characters I loved from the show. Full of adventure, magic, friendship, family, witty banter, and loyalty. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
