I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy in exchange for my honest review.

Something Wicked is a great addition to the Bennett Witch Chronicles series. This story fits nicely into the Vampire Diaries world and the author does a great job of following up and continuing the events that happened in the final season of the series. The backstories and additional world building are well written and the characters complex and enjoyable. Ms. Harmeling does a good job of holding your interest throughout the entire read. This adventure for Bonnie is filled with her friends and the activities in the day to day lives as well as her lingering feelings and memories of Enzo and new interest in her first love. The story takes place in her hometown of Mystic Falls and extends to Salem, Massachusetts and the supernatural prison world she created for Kai…yes he makes an appearance, as well. Something Wicked is full of suspense, magic, mystery, danger, family and sarcastic banter between the characters. Bonnie once again risks everything and puts her life on the line for her friends, who have become her family, as she sets out on a mission to rescue Caroline’s girls, the Gemini twins, from a witch with a dark history trying to be reborn. Will she be powerful enough to save the twins and defeat the dark magic and can she finally come to terms with Enzo’s death and look forward to a new future? Do not miss out on this new adventure for Bonnie and her friends. You will not be disappointed.

I love the Bennett Witch Chronicles! Wonderful continuation from the Vampire Diaries, following up on things that happened in the final season. If you can't already tell by the titles on these stories, Bonnie Bennett is the main character, but several of the characters from the TV series make appearances. In this story, Bonnie is helping out at the school Alaric and Caroline opened, teaching young witches how to use their magic. Her adventures also take her to Salem, Massachusetts and to the prison world she created to keep Kai locked up in. She puts her life on the line to rescue Alaric and Caroline's twin Gemini witches from an evil witch who practices dark magic and keeps taking over bodies to survive. She also deals with lingering memories of Enzo as Jeremy comes back into her life. Somehow no matter how hard Bonnie tries to live a more normal life, paranormal/magical drama always seems to find her. She is still a kicka$$ witch who comes out the winner. If you never watched the TV series, there is enough information provided to read this world of books anyway. I am just so excited to be able to continue to keep up with all the awesome characters I loved from the show. Full of adventure, magic, friendship, family, witty banter, and loyalty. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Harmeling delivers an amazing addition to The Vampire Diaries world. This story is told from Bonnie Bennett's POV and focuses on events following the show. The author captures the essence of all your favorites characters and remains true to them down to their unique idiosyncrasies. I had only watched one season of the show before reading this story, and while it does contain spoilers, it contains enough information that anyone can follow the story regardless of their familiarity with the series. I only gave four stars as the book was really dense at times as it provided a lot of information and action in a short amount of time. The story line was mysterious and engaging and left room for continuation of the story in the future. I really enjoyed this story and would recommend it to most readers, especially fans of TVD.

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my review. All opinions expressed are my own.

So far, out of all the new Bennett Witch Chronicles I have read, this one is definitely my favorite - and although I want to tell you why I don't want to spoil it for new readers. However I will say, it felt like the one most closes to the tv series and what passed previously, so although I normally only give four stars with a book of this length I had to give this one five due to that reason. So if you also enjoyed the TV series the of the Vampire Diaries then you will enjoy this book.

Bonnie is perfectly written. She's the same fiercely loyal friend she's always been on the show. I love this small peek into how she thinks, and what she feels. Great, fast paced read.
