Cosa fare quando la carriera del giocatore di Hockey più popolare del momento sta per calare a picco a causa della sua vita da playboy? L’immagine è tutto e quella di Blake non è delle migliori, ha una sola possibilità: mettere la testa a posto e fingere di essere innamorato. E se quella sceneggiata si trasformasse in realtà? Tutto si complica quando nella sua vita arriva Chloe, l’affascinante e caparbia PR che può rimetterlo in riga o tirarlo giù definitivamente.

Il libro di cui vi parlerò oggi è Fidanzati per finta di Jessa James, molto carino ed ambientato ai giorni nostri. Anche qui ritroviamo il solito donnaiolo instancabile, ricco e bello come il sole; ogni donna è a sua disposizione e nessuna è immune al suo fascino.

Lei, invece, è una giovane donna in carriera che cerca di restare lontano da ogni relazione sentimentale complicata.

Mi è piaciuto molto che, per una volta, non abbiano reso la protagonista come la solita ragazza che si crede bruttina e sbadata. Chloe, infatti, sa di essere bella ed elegante e come tale si comporta. Inoltre, al contrario delle personaggi femminili di cui oggi si legge spesso, riesce a mantenere un po’ di autocontrollo e a non cadere nelle braccia di Blake due secondi dopo averlo incontrato. Lo vorrebbe? Sì, ma non si lascia incantare dall’uomo subito dopo averlo conosciuto e, soprattutto, riesce a tenerlo sulla linea del “mi desidera o meno?”, cosa che io ho trovato poche volte nei libri.

Mi fa piacere notare una donna più forte rispetto a quelle a cui siamo abituati e mi piace vedere come lui, uomo arrogante e sicuro di sé, arrivi a dubitare di piacerle. Siamo abituati ad assistere al contrario ed uno scambio di ruoli è molto apprezzato.

La prosa è abbastanza scorrevole e non presenta molti errori di editing, ho solo trovato due o tre parole scritte male, ma nulla riguardante la grammatica, probabilmente è stata solo una svista.

Unica pecca, secondo me, è che il libro è davvero troppo corto e i sentimenti di lui crescono troppo velocemente. Non c’è abbastanza tempo nello sviluppo dei sentimenti fra i due personaggi, che passano da 0 a 100 in quelle che sono davvero poche settimane. Insomma, un playboy allergico alle relazioni non finisce per innamorarsi in così poco tempo e, sopratutto, non arriva così velocemente a quel finale (che non dirò per non fare troppi spoiler). Mi è sembrato un po’ troppo frettoloso. Avrei preferito fosse stato un po’ più lungo e assistere alla crescita della relazione in modo più lento e profondo.

In conclusione, è un libro romantico senza scene particolarmente hot o sconvolgenti, tranne una, per la quale non né consiglio la lettura a dei ragazzini.

3⭐️… No fue una historia WOW pero ideal para sacarte de un mini bloqueo lector.

Este libro narra la historia de Blake, un jugador de hockey quien está a punto de perder contrato con su equipo por verse envuelto en un escándalo con una mujer y que encima este involucraba a drogas. Por eso el dueño del equipo y su manager deciden contratar a una relacionista pública para que salve a Blake de la debacle.

Es aquí cuando aparece Cloe, quien le arma a Blake un guion para hacerle creer a la prensa que ese lío en el que supuestamente Blake se vio envuelto es mentira ya que el pasó toda la noche junto a su “prometida”, el no estaba de acuerdo, pero Cloe parecía tener todo bien armado, así que el decide ponerle las cosas mana difíciles, aceptaría el reto pero con una condición, que ella fuera quien se hiciese pasar por su prometida, y aunque en un inicio lo dudo, finalmente acepta el reto.

La atracción era palpable y ya desde el inicio se sabía cómo iba a terminar todo, pero como les mencioné, si quieren leer algo ligerito, corto y divertido, este libro es ideal.

Fidanzati per finta Jessa James

Dovevo dare un’altra opportunità a Jessa James: siate testimoni che l’ho fatto… perché non mi ripeterò.
Lavoro prevedibile , scontato , noioso, lento,monotematico e altre 100 cose ,nessuna delle quali lusinghiere per il libro .
Blake è un giocatore di hockey famoso, ma dalla reputazione pessima… se vuole ripulirsi l’immagine e far si che gli sponsor continuino a fargli firmare contratti milionari deve correre ai ripari. Chloe è esperta in materia: ripulire immagini pubbliche è il suo mestiere . Blake deve fidanzarsi e mettere la testa a posto… almeno così deve sembrare. Trama scontata, si , ma se trattata bene anche la trama più scontata diventa piacevole. Almeno questo era quello che speravo… nella pratica si è risolto tutto in maniera abbastanza banale, misera e poco coinvolgente. Troppo sesso , troppa prosa e pochi dialoghi , poco sentimento e poca credibilità. Senza idee .
È stata migliore la partita dell’Inter di stasera… e l’Inter ha perso.
Il lato positivo è che quantomeno era breve. E che ho finito la challenge.

As soon as I saw the blurb for the book I knew that there would be times where I would be laughing at what the characters said and did and boy was I right. Blake and Chloe not only have sparks flying when they are around each other but they are also hilarious together. Between him not wanting to change his ways at first because he's cocky as all get out and her being a spitfire "this is my way or the highway" attitude as well this is just a must read.

Like I said the chemistry is combustible, like women losing their panties across America. There are some really sweet moments as well. I just loved this book and it just happens to be the first one I have read by this author, well done!!! Oh and I own Lip Service but I have yet to read it and now I really really want to read it soon after I finish reading my other ARC reads. Because WOW.

What happened here? The story is building up - and it's am good plot to begin with (!) - and suddenly we're rushing through the motions?!?
Reading felt as if there was a deadline due and the book had to finished rather quickly.
The characters just realize that there might be more than the charade theit playing for the public eye and a couple of pages later we're married and close to labour.

All of Cloes prejudices and insecurities (not to mention Blakes change of heart) are - schwooops - solved. New, old engagement ring, some screwing and happily ever after we plan our daughters dating schedule. Which is obviously not happening as he knows how boys behave. Oooookay. If it would have been a printed version and not an ebook I would have supected a publishing mistake for whatever reason.

A very delightful romantic journey to share with the main male and female characters. The story unfolded well and was easy to read. The main male character initially was a bit of an ass and self-serving but over the course of the story matured and evolved into a single-minded focus on the main female character. The main female character was a very intense person, extremely focused and devoted to her job. There was some excellent repartee between these two who ended up with their happy ever after.

This is a very well written story that took me by surprise in a positive way. I was caught from the first to last page. It has humor, drama, action, passion, trouble, heartbreak and lots of emotion.
I like the main characters. They both have trouble they need to get past but it is not that easy when you get into a PR stunt with the person that you are getting attracted to. The characters are well described and develops through the story.
I like the story line and the plot. A short and easy read.

She's making him toe the line and suggests that a fake fiance might be the answer to his woes. The only problem is he wants her to be the fiance. Bulldozing The Agreement -
Chloe is flummoxed when Blake challenged her to embark of his agreement for an image renovation. Both of them tried their best to remain professional, but what they forgot was that human being are fallible. It was fun to see how navigated all the pitfalls and finally accepted their inevitable fate. It is a quick read that will keep you entertained.

Quel tipo di pensiero era pericoloso. Ma stando sdraiato accanto a lei nel letto tutto il resto scomparve, passando in secondo piano, i playoff, gli sponsor, i fan e le feste… tutto. C’era solo Chloe, la sua pelle soffice contro la mia, il suo odore, i rumori lievi che faceva mentre si accoccolava di più a me… come se non fossi uno stronzo che non meritava nulla. Per la prima volta, dopo anni, quel rumore assordante nel petto, l’eco del vuoto che guidava le mie azioni, era pieno. Di lei.
«Sarai la mia rovina», sussurrai al suo orecchio.

La trama è classica del genere, e se fosse stata sviluppata a dovere non sarebbe nemmeno stata malaccio, prevedibilità a parte, ma come spesso accade il sesso prende il sopravvento, la relazione tra i due va da 0 a 100 in un secondo e, senza sapere bene come, piovono improvvisamente dichiarazioni di eterno amore, anelli e quant'altro XD Non che i due finiscano a letto dopo tre pagine, anzi, la nostra intraprendente Chloe (nonostante il pensiero fisso delle mutandine fradice che richiedono shopping imminente) riesce a rimanere (quasi) vestita fin quasi a metà storia, ma il tema domina pensieri e parole e oggettivamente i due non passano molto tempo insieme a conoscersi semplicemente parlando, magari con un minimo di background, nonostante la falsa relazione. Le sue insicurezze, improvvise tardive e ben poco convincenti, svaniscono come neve al sole senza essere troppo approfondite, ma ormai me l'aspettavo XD Sul nostro prestante atleta non c'è molto da dire, ama le feste e le donne, viene "castrato" ma la sua cintura di castità vivente si rivela l'unica donna che non si denuda prima di subito per lui...ed è AMMMMMMORE! xD

Dire che la storia non mi sia piaciuta, sarebbe una bugia, mi ha coinvolto, ho amato i battibecchi tra i protagonisti, ma ho trovato tutto troppo veloce…
La trama ha un che di appassionante, diverte, è molto erotica e passionale, esplicita, quindi non idonea ad un pubblico di minori, ma è troppo breve e le cose che accadono non sono ben caratterizzate ed avvengono troppo velocemente e non si riesce nemmeno ad assimilarne che già si è andati oltre, si è passati ad un nuovo step.
I protagonisti, Blake e Chloe, sono bellissimi, passionali, ma diversissimi.
Lui, playboy incallito e lei lavoratrice indefessa, si trovano ad essere attratti l’uno dall’altra, la passione è incontenibile, ma da quí a parlare di amore stona un po’ perché manca un passaggio fondamentale: come è successo?
