Northern Ireland in the late nineties. Peace is starting. For Bridget McConnell it is something to be wished for but not something that she spends a lot of time thinking about. Her life is focused on her job as a psychiatry registrar, her parents and her lack of a love life of any sort. When she first meets Jesus Sean she is completely unready for the tumultuous road her life is suddenly on. After all how can a single man, all be-it one who was found crucified on the floor of a warehouse with his legs broken and his back in tatters, change the course of her life so catastrophically. How can that same man bring peace to the troubled Province of which she is very much a product? As her feet are drawn inexorably onto a path of self discovery she finds that life can be a very thorny path indeed if one is being dragged towards a level of self realisation few humans ever need or reach.
