Alejandro Algarra (México D.F., 1971) vive en Barcelona desde 1983, donde se licenció como biólogo en 1995. Profesionalmente dedicado al mundo editorial y de la educación, es un apasionado de la mitología, del cine de todas las épocas y de la fotografía, en especial macrofotografía de insectos. Como autor infantil ha publicado, además de la serie «Descubre los bichos», libros sobre pequeñas mascotas.

"44 fascinujúcich tajomstiev prírody" píše sa na obálke. Otázky a vysvetelenia sú zodpovedané a napísané správne a často aj pútavo. Dokonca sú to aj veci, ktoré detiská veľmi zaujímajú. Tu sa nedá nič vytýkať. Problém mám s grafickou stránkou.
Kniha je určená pre deti od 5 rokov. To by sedelo s úrovňou aj množstvom textu na jednotlivých stranách. Ale uch, tie obrázky! Kniha je veľmi nudne ilustrovaná a graficky spracovaná. Pre zvolený vek sa mi vidia obrázky veľmi infantilné. Na dvojstrane je len jedna veľká ilustrácia, ktorá čato nestačí popísať danú tému. Kým som nášmu malému zvedavcovi prečítala tých osem viet textu, dávno stratil záujem o celú stranu. Takže sme ju po chvíli prezerania odložili. Bohužiaľ (pre túto knihu), na trhu existuje obrovské množstvo oveľa lepších "vševedúcich" encyklopédií. Táto asi nedostane šancu.
