I remember this book from my childhood - just ordered it off Powell's. A folk musician friend asked me about children's books about the Great Depression and I seemed to recall this book did deal with it. My memories are vague - so can't wait for the book to arrive and see if it as lovely as I recall. I think I checked it out over & over from our local library branch - loved the illustrations.

Loved this book as a child so much I had to hunt it down as an adult.
