1956年生於京都，居於京都。
京都大學研究所文學研究科博士課程結業，專攻西洋古代哲學，1989年起開始研究阿德勒心理學。

目前除了積極從事阿德勒心理學及古代哲學的著述和演講，同時也是日本阿德勒心理學會認定的諮商師與顧問。
