It's a short epilogue set 3 years after the end of Overtaken, and it gives us a glimpse into the life of Shanti and Cayan now that things have finally settled down.
It is a cute and funny story, even though it's only a few pages, we got to see Sander's snark, and the Honor guard's funny banter and goofiness.
It's an extra epilogue set 3 years after events in the final book of the series, Overtaken & gives us a glimpse into the lives of Shanti and Cayan now that things have settled down. It's a cute story & my only complaint is that I still miss this world. I live in hope that one day K.F. Breene will decide to revisit it, perhaps through the eyes of the next generation!
as expected another winner and a wonderful paranormal romance that is so deliciously sinful. K.F. does PNR like no other and I have high expectations that she continually exceeds. I have not read one story that she has written that I have not loved and has not wowed me. I love seeing new worlds coming to life and meeting new characters and with K.F.’s wordsmithing she lets you see every single nook and cranny and vivid life of both. She always writes a story that is so unique and enthralling and so original that you can’t put them down, you have to know what is happening right away. This story is a complete delight in oh so many ways. K.F. builds so much emotions in the story and you always find yourself laughing out loud with the crazy goings on and banter between the characters. But don’t be fooled there is equal amounts of times that you will also need a tissue. Well done girl you always set the bar exceedingly high!
Very sad it is over.... though it has been over for sooooo long. Still, this is a series I read when I am down in the dumps and need to feel strong. Thank you to the author for giving us the bonus material! She did not get paid to write more for us. It is only love of the charecters/world/audience/writing that encouraged her to do this for us.....so again, BIG thank you!
Other than the Andrews (Ilona), Breene is the only author who can get me out of a funk. I love her for that! I continue to look forward to her work.
If you do not want spoilers, do not look at my tags for this piece. I hope you enjoy as much as I have enjoyed this series. Good reading!
Sweet conclusion to one of the greatest series ever. The reading order is: Forged in Blood (The Warrior Chronicles, #0.5) - although I would suggest reading this one after at least 2 books, Chosen (The Warrior Chronicles #1), Hunted (The Warrior Chronicles, #2), Shadow Lands (The Warrior Chronicles #3), Invasion (The Warrior Chronicles #4), Siege (The Warrior Chronicles, #5), Overtaken (The Warrior Chronicles, #6), and Overtaken: Bonus Epilogue (The Warrior Chronicles, #6.1).
After completing the Warrior Chronicles and K. F. Breene having sworn not to write any further in this series.., this little Eplogue was a nice gesture to her fans. If you are reading or will finish sometime soon with The Warrior Chronicles, I suggest you wait through your next book to two then come back to this. You can get it from her website. It's just nice to briefly revisit all the old friends I spent 6 books with.
About Nichole Poole, narrator for the Fire & Ice or DDVN series (Thanks for that confusion) My eyes are going with age, & I can't read for long periods anymore, so I mostly do audiobooks. I worked on jet engines among other jobs in the military and that guarantees eventual major hearing loss. So my whining here is almost certainly more about me than Ms. Poole.
I wanted to continue with more KF Breene, in the Fire & Ice? DDVN? series: starting with Born in Fire. But I have major problems with Nicole Poole's narration. Over and over, I've tried, but Ms. Poole sounds like Microsoft Zira's halting text to speech software and in some tone where my hearing loss is sensitive. Repeatedly tried adjusting speed and playing with the synthesizer frequencies with no success.
It's double frustrating -- as when she speaks dialogue, I can understand her perfectly. Arghh.
Still recommending Claire Davies narration on the Warrior Chronicles. I think her narration brings Shanti... and Sanders alive.
A short and sweet little epilogue for those that are wondering how things are going for the characters after defeating Xandre.
Set three years after returning to the Westwood Lands and reuniting with her people and Cayan’s.
Seeing how things are going for Shanti, Cayan, Sanders, Rohnan, The Honor Guard, Kallon & The Shumas, Sonson & The Shadow People, and the Women’s Circle. Being at peace is joyous for everyone especially without the threat of having Xandre hanging over them.
I do have to admit though that I am not a fan of the Women Circle’s constant interference and bossy ness. I did find Eloise irritating.
I loved seeing the love and bond between Shanti and Cayan, especially with the extra little addition.
Thank you for this little extra insight to life after the war.
This was just a cute, free little short story you can download from the author's website. It follows Shanti and Cayan 3 years after the events of Overtaken, where we find Shanti pregnant and about to burst. It's only a few pages long but checks in with some key characters to give closure, and obviously shows our lovebirds having their baby, sure to live a happy life together. I loved this series so enjoyed this little epilogue.

Heather's Notes Since I am not sure I will ever finish the series. I decided to read the epilogue. She has a girl after 3 miscarriages, and the are all happy. Although I am not as happy with the woman's circle as I was in the 4th book

This series had me in a chokehold when I read it. It’s five books of fast-paced action and a snail paced slow-burn. We get smut and so many glimpses into the minds of other characters. It’s hot, it’s funny, and it’s exciting. I loved it and I wish we could get more stories from this story line. There are just so many wonderful characters that I want to hear more about.
It was so great to read of my favorite couple. I wished she would make short stories for the side characters. This bonus scene also was very insightful, I think l.. at least I hope there will be books on the future leader !
Series entertained me throughout book 1-6 looking forward to bonus 6.1. Book(s) kept me captivated, almost wanting to skip to end, but didn’t! Different then my other paranormal in that it has to do with gift of sight (seeing future), mind control, etc. (other paranormal shifters).
This was a great series. It literally has everything you could want action, humor, suspense, a bad guy you love to hate, a couple of bad guys you want to hate but can't, a whole gaggle of good guys, not just one heroic lead character but several and of course an epic romance. Loved it.
The Warrior Chronicles #6.1 This can be downloaded for free off the authors website. It takes place approximately three years after the series ends. I assure you a good time is had by all. Enjoy!

I am a absolute sucker for these epilogues, I am happy that the book was wrapped up the way it was but that those of us like me where given this extended ending to make us have that ray of hope for the future.
