I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I totally enjoyed the banter in this book. I laughed so hard at how the characters reacted to each other.
Michelle is a lawyer who is a public defender. She just started working as a lawyer when her car breaks down. When the hot mechanictakes, who she had a hard time taking her eyes off of, takes pitty on her and throws out the bill she has a quickie with him that left her longing for more but she never planned to see him again.
Andrew, "Ace," a mechanic, tries to work out a payment plan with Michelle and when she tells him what she can afford he throws out the bill. She gets so excited and suddenly seems so turned on, he tells her to tell him to stop, she doesn't, and they have a quickie. Months later, he is arrested and provided with a public defender, when he goes to meet the lawyer he is surprised to find it is Michelle, who he hasn't been able to stop thinking about. He lets her know that the officer who arrested him has it out for him, at which point she recieves an alert about a break in to her home. Her car breaks down again on her way home and Andrew tows to home. She has told him on the way she lives next to a cop, when they arrive he tackles the person on her porch, only to recognize him as the officer who arrested him. Michelle hasn't met her neighbor yet and Andrew ends up introducing the cop to her.
The antics only get better from there. One of my favorite parts is when Michelle says "I'll be fine, Andrew. I'll call you - at your garage. For the total on my vehicle." and Andrew responds, "No, no. You can call me on my cell anytime you'd like. You can text that number, too."
Simply must read to find out more about Andrew's history with Chet (the cop), about Michelle and why she does acts like she does and how Andrew and Michelle's personalities mix.
