Meine Meinung:
Da mir der erste Teil diese Reihe nicht so gut gefallen hat, war ich ziemlich gespannt auf diesen Teil, da ich unbedingt wissen wollte ob dieser nun besser war, denn es waren ja auch Geschichten die in sich abgeschlossen waren.
Da Cover dieses Buches hat mir natürlich wie bereits auch schon bei dem ersten Teil sehr gut gefallen. Das Cover schimmert schön, was es optisch noch viel attraktiver macht, zudem passen die kleinen Details auf dem Cover auch sehr gut zu dem Inhalt der Geschichte.
Dies empfand ich natürlich auch bei dem ersten Band, denn die Cover dieser Reihe wurden perfekt aneinander angepasst, sodass man ihre Verbundenheit erkenne kann.
Auch die Titel wurden perfekt zu der Reihe angepasst und auch der Titel dieses Buches gefiel mir.
In dem ersten Teil ging ich etwas voreingenommen an das Buch heran, da ich etwa misstrauisch war, was den Autor betraf. Allerdings versuchte ich diese Voreingenommenheit bei diesen Teil zur Seite legen und ich muss sagen, dass es eigentlich auch ziemlich gut funktioniert hat.
Dieses mal kam ich schon direkt zu Anfang sehr gut in das Geschehen des Buches herein, da ich mich auf irgendeine Art und Weise sofort mit dem Buch 'verbunden' gefühlt habe.
Sofort war ich tief im Geschehen und es gab überhaupt kein Problem. Irgendwie hat mich dieses mal der Anfang mehr angesprochen, da es sofort interessant begonnen hat und ich deshalb wissen wollte wie es weiter geht.
Dies war ja leider nicht so beim ersten Teil, denn da langweilte ich mich eher.
Der Schreibstyle war sehr angenehm zu lesen. Ebenso war es auch sehr gut, dass man hier au den Sichten der beiden Hauptpersonen etwas lesen konnte, denn so wurde man schon direkt mir beiden Charakteren etwas wärmer.
Dieses mal hat mir irgendwie alles schon direkt viel besser gefallen, denn nicht nur die Charaktere gefielen mir besser, sondern auch einfach die gesamte Situation.
Die Geschichte hatte einen so viel besseren Inhalt mit einer wesentlich spannenderen Handlung, weshalb ich diese Idee der Geschichte auch schon so viel lieber mochte.
Der männliche Hauptcharakter war wesentlich besser als der aus dem vorherigen Teil, da er nicht so eine nervige Macho Art hatte, sondern schon viel eher diese Bad Boy Masche durch zog, die ich in Büchern immer sehr gerne mag. Seine Art ging mir deshalb auch zu keinen Zeitpunkt auf die Nerven.
Der weibliche Hauptcharakter war auf jeden Fall auch viel besser, da sie viel erträglicher war und einfach eine viel bessere Persönlichkeit hatte.
Leider hatte ich bei dieser Geschichte meine Höhen und tiefen, denn mal war sie einfach nur total spannend, sodass ich unbedingt wissen wollte was danach wohl passieren würde, aber dann wurde es ganz plötzlich auf einmal total uninteressant. Dies passierte eigentlich ziemlich oft, desto weiter ich gelesen hatte.
Das Ende dieses mal hatte mir irgendwie besser gefallen, denn für mich war es einfach viel schöner.
Aber ich muss trotzdem noch sagen, dass mir dieser Teil auf jeden Fall besser als der erste gefallen hat.
Deswegen bin ich auf den nächsten Teil gespannt, da sich der Klappentext sehr gut angehört hat und vielleicht wird dieser Teil dann ja auch nochmal ein bisschen besser sein als dieser.

Nacho Figueras Presents: The Wild One by Jessica Whitman is a 2016 Forever Romance publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This second story is the series is centered around Sebastian Del Campo, the younger brother of Alejandro, and Kat Parker, a screenwriter going through a little slump.
When Kat’s father has a serious health issue, she returns home to help her mother clean the Del Campo mansion while they care for her father. In the process, she meets the dashing Sebastian, a polo player, and playboy, who has been sidelined due to an injury.
The unlikely couple hit it off right away, and Sebastian gives Kat the idea for her next big screenplay. The two grow close, but Kat begins to see why Alejandro has been so hard on Sebastian. He is really into something until he grows bored, then he becomes lazy, and careless. Can or will Sebastian rise to the challenge and show Kat what he’s made of?
At first, I was a little let down by the lack of romantic build up to the story. The couple had only been out a few times before they were burning up the sheets. There simply was not time for an emotional connection to grow, which was a little disappointing. But, I kept reading and before long, I could see where the storyline was going and all was forgiven.
The story Kat is working on is based on Sebastian’s ancestors, and is an inspiration to Kat, personally. This storyline also comes with a very slight paranormal tint, which was whimsical and charming.
But, the main focus of the story is more of a character study of Sebastian, and the reasons behind his restlessness, the misconceptions people have of him, and his growth as a person, after having met Kat.
For Sebastian, life has been easy, no real hard knocks or disappointments, with everything coming to him so naturally, especially his talent for Polo. He’s been content to get by, to do just what is necessary, and nothing more, having fun, partying, and enjoying all the female companionship he desires.
But, his brother is disappointed in him, and Sebastian begins to make some bad mistakes, forcing him to take stock of his life. As it turns out his forced break from polo gives him the chance to try out other avenues, and help Kat realize her dreams too.
Kat does get equal billing in this story, and her character is very important as she is the catalyst for Sebastian’s soul searching, and his desire to commit to a long term relationship and to finally step up to the plate and do the right thing by his family and his sport, by giving them his best. But, her character is sometimes swallowed by Sebastian’s larger than life presence. But, as much as I would have liked her character to have been a little fuller, it ended up working out for the best in the long run, I think.
It was fun watching Sebastian go through various stages and phases, on his way to maturity and true love. There is plenty of drama, conflict, and angst, as well as some pretty steamy romance.
Overall, this one got off to a rocky start for me, but I ended up enjoying it, although I can’t say I liked quite as much as I did the first book. Still, this is a very solid 'second in a series' effort, and I will definitely be reading book three!!

Meinung
Ich hatte mich unheimlich auf das Buch gefreut und bin leider etwas enttäuscht.
Der Schreibstil - wie auch im ersten Band konnte mich der Schreibstil absolut überzeugen und ich hatte Spaß dieses Buch zu lesen.
Zu den Charakteren - in diesem Buch geht es um Sebastisan del Campo, den jüngsten Sohn des del Campo Clans. Ich hatte mich unheimlich auf ihn gefreut, denn bereits im ersten Band war ich total von ihm angetan. Ich wurde aber teilweise enttäuscht, denn ich habe im Nachhinein das Gefühl, nicht wirklich mehr über Sebastian zu wissen. Die weibliche Gegen-Protagonistin ist Katherine, eine Regisseurin - ich mochte sie von Anfang an und hatte Spaß mit ihr durch das Buch zu gehen - wie auch mit Sebastian.
Ich fand ein Wiedersehen mit alten Charakteren total toll und habe mich sehr gefreut zu sehen, wie es ihnen geht und sie sich entwickelt haben - manche Charaktere habe ich auch wirklich gehasst. Das muss auch so sein und konnte mich überzeugen.
Leider muss ich sagen, das die Handlung mich nicht komplett überzeugen konnte. Natürlich hatte sie Irrungen und Wirrungen, ich musste viel lachen und hatte generell Spaß - aber irgendwie hat sie mich auch in den Wahnsinn getrieben.
Nach den ersten 100 Seiten geschah etwas, wo ich mir an den Kopf gefasst hab und gedacht hab: "Das kann doch wohl nicht wahr sein". Der Anfang war sehr schön als Einführung, der Mittelteil an sich war mir zu langweilig und erst zum Ende hin hatte ich nochmal richtig Spaß. Dazu muss ich allerdings noch sagen, am Ende war ich etwas verdutzt, das alles so schnell ging - aber es war nicht schlecht!
Manchmal war es mir einfach zu viel Hin und Her - genauso wie eine gewisse Person, die ich gerade erwürgen möchte :) aber wie bereits gesagt, solche Personen muss es auch geben.
Insgesamt hat mir einfach ein Füncken gefehlt - das gewisse Etwas, was mich im ersten Band fesseln konnte.
Ich sage nur noch - ich habe eine ganz große Liebe zu "Fünfundzwanzig Rosen" entwickelt!

Ich gebe dem Buch 4 von 5 Sterne. Streng genommen schwanke ich noch zwischen 3,5 und 4, aber ich denke 4 Sterne sind angebrachter.
Ich hätte einfach viel mehr über Sebastian und auch über Katherine erfahren wollen, das finde ich ein bisschen schade - dennoch würde ich dieses Buch jedem empfehlen, dem der erste Band schon gefallen hat.

Very emotional.
One thing is for sure. Don´t expect huge profoundness when it comes to this books. Yes, the setting is wonderful, and the passion for polo comes through every line and word. And some drama is underneath the surface as well, but this is a light novel with a language shown as one single melody. Good, the tone is a bit darker and the story is wilder as book one was, but it fits for Kat and Sebastian.
And you will see, Georgie and Alejandro as well. With a little surprise.
I read it in one single swoop. Could barely lay it aside to do something else. Wild One is emotion, passion, romance and feelings all over the place. If you read the first book already, then this will be another thrill for you. And to be honest, during one scene I had tears running down my cheeks. And nope, I am not ashamed to say that.

Nacho Figueras introduces his readers to a world of polo, ponies, power plays, and film production; in this, the second offering of The Polo Season series.
But based on the free spirits which seem to guide both leading lady, Cat Parker and leading man, Sebastian Del Campo, toward trouble at every turn. It is hard to know to which Wild One, the book's title is alluding at any given time.
When a pride sore Kat is called home to Wellington, Florida, after her father suffers a stroke. The last thing that the once A-List director thinks that she'll find is love.
But as readers learned in the first volume of this saga of fate and fortune. In the cases of ponies and passion, what you get is often the farthermost thing from what is expected.
Sebastian Del Campo is a man who comes by things naturally. Charm, looks, athleticism, money, and most of all...woman.
The one thing he can't seem to come by however, is the trust and respect of his family. Considered a slacking playboy by all who know him. Sebastian is a man determined to turn over a new leaf. After one last ill fated drink.

Readers will thrill in seeing the give and take in all aspects of Kat and Seb's relationship. Just as hearts will surely crumble, when mistrust, insecurities, and egos are allowed to get in the way.
Both Sebastian and Kat are people trying hard to both understand their place in the world, and be understood.
Who know that the discovery of Sebastian's grandmother's diaries would be their key to accomplishing both.
But the couples' quest to bring the great lady's story to the silver screen could spell the end of their "happily ever after" before it begins.
As well as dashing any hopes that Kat has of box office redemption.
Unless these two are able to think their way out of the devious boxes of others without extinguishing the spark that make each able to see the other for who and what they are now...and are destined to become together.
This is the kind of read that make one believe that there is a round hole for every square peg.

But based on the free spirits which seem to guide both leading lady, Cat Parker and leading man, Sebastian Del Campo, toward trouble at every turn. It is hard to know to which Wild One, the book's title is alluding at any given time.
When a pride sore Kat is called home to Wellington, Florida, after her father suffers a stroke. The last thing that the once A-List director thinks that she'll find is love.
But as readers learned in the first volume of this saga of fate and fortune. In the cases of ponies and passion, what you get is often the farthermost thing from what is expected.
Sebastian Del Campo is a man who comes by things naturally. Charm, looks, athleticism, money, and most of all...woman.
The one thing he can't seem to come by however, is the trust and respect of his family. Considered a slacking playboy by all who know him. Sebastian is a man determined to turn over a new leaf. After one last ill fated drink.
When his last night of excess finds him on the losing end of a brawl that he didn't start, and unable to play polo while his broken wrist mends. Sebastian Del Campo has no idea that a mission of mercy, as his mother's delivery boy, will put him on a collision course with a soul whose fire burns just as brightly as his own.

Wild One is also the story that has the least to do with the Del Campo family in terms of their sport. Instead focusing on those members of the family who, for better or worse, give the family its life, energy and flair. Sebastian and Victoria...and Kat, the one woman strong enough to bring his heart and her legacy to life.
Readers will thrill in seeing the give and take in all aspects of Kat and Seb's relationship. Just as hearts will surely crumble, when mistrust, insecurities, and egos are allowed to get in the way.
Both Sebastian and Kat are people trying hard to both understand their place in the world, and be understood.
Who know that the discovery of Sebastian's grandmother's diaries would be their key to accomplishing both.
But the couples' quest to bring the great lady's story to the silver screen could spell the end of their "happily ever after" before it begins.
As well as dashing any hopes that Kat has of box office redemption.
Unless these two are able to think their way out of the devious boxes of others without extinguishing the spark that make each able to see the other for who and what they are now...and are destined to become together.
This is the kind of read that make one believe that there is a round hole for every square peg.

Nachdem mir die erste Geschichte von Nacho Figueras und Jessica Whiteman schon sehr gut gefallen hat, war ich sehr gespannt wie diese Reihe weitergehen wird. Und mit Verführung ist endlich das zweite Buch der Wellington Saga erschienen. Eine weitere Geschichte rund um Polo, Ponys, Liebe, Leidenschaft und das Filmgeschäft. Man taucht wieder in die Welt des Del Campo Clans ein, diesmal jedoch in die Geschichte des jüngeren Sohnes Sebastian und der Regisseurin Katherine.
Ein Leben lang stand Sebastian Del Campo hinter seinem älteren Bruder Alejandro an. Immer war er nur der Zweitbeste. Der Playboy der Familie. Er liebt seine Familie, doch er steht nicht hinter jeder Entscheidung der Del Campos. Und während er, durch eine Verletzung, an der Seitenlinie steht - nicht mehr in der Lage Polo zu spielen - wird er dazu gezwungen darüber nachzudenken was er wirklich will. Katherine ist die Regisseurin eines preisgekrönten Filmes. Doch ein Flop, und ein medizinischer Notfall in der Familie, zwingen sie dazu wieder nach Wellington zurückzukehren. Dort trifft sie auf Sebastian und kommt mit seiner Hilfe einer epischen Liebesgeschichte auf die Spur, die Sebastian und Katherine näher zusammenführt, als die beiden jemals gedacht hätten.
Bei Katherine schlug bei mir Mal wieder der Fluch zu. Der Fluch, das mir die meisten Protagonistinnen unsympathisch sind. Und nur die wenigsten dieser, schaffen es im Laufe des Buches, meine Sympatie zu gewinnen. Doch irgendwie hat sie es tatsächlich geschafft, mich nach einem schlechten Start, noch von sich zu überzeugen. Denn auch wenn Katherine stark und selbstbewusst ist, war sie mir manchmal zu extrovertiert und zu aggressiv. Doch zusammen mit Sebastian, war sie perfekt. Und genau diese Mischung, hat sie als Protagonistin für mich gerettet.
Sebastian Del Campo hingegen, war perfekt in meinen Augen. Für ihn kam im Leben alles leicht, natürlich. Und er war ein ziemlicher Playboy mit einem riesigen Verschleiß an Frauen. Oberflächlich betrachtet, war er nicht viel mehr, als ein Mann, der nichts ernst nimmt im Leben. Doch im Verlaufe des Buches, wurde mir klar, das so viel mehr hinter dieser Fassade steckt. Er ist ein unglaublich Leidenschaftlicher Mensch. Egal ob es nun um die Liebe geht oder um Polo. Mit anzusehen wie er erwachsen wird (denn ja, auch mit Anfang 30 ist er noch nicht wirklich erwachsen gewesen) und sich weiterentwickelt, war unglaublich toll. Und ja, natürlich war Sebastian auch sehr sehr sexy. Was natürlich immer ein großer Pluspunkt ist.
Die Beziehung zwischen Sebastian und Katherine war wundervoll. Anfangs wusste ich nicht so recht was ich von den beiden halten sollte. Denn ich als Fan von romantischen Liebesgeschichten, war etwas enttäuscht davon, dass die beiden sehr schnell miteinander im Bett gelandet sind. Das ist zwar nicht wirklich untypisch für erotische Romane, doch es bietet nicht viel Gelegenheit um Gefühle auszubauen. Weder zwischen den Protagonisten, noch zwischen der Geschichte und dem Leser. Doch nach einer Weile konnte ich sehen, wohin die Geschichte führen würde, und alles war vergessen. Denn die beiden scheinen sich erst zu finden, indem sie sich selber gefunden haben. Und auch wenn die beiden getrennt waren, gab es keine Zweifel daran, dass sie zusammen gehörten. So tief ging die Verbindung.
Etwas was ich unbedingt noch anschneiden muss ist die Atmosphäre des Buches. Ich liebe die Leidenschaft, mit der Nacho Figueras das Polo-Spiel in diesen Büchern beschreibt. Man kann in jedem einzelnen Wort förmlich spüren, wie sehr er diesen Sport selber liebt. Wie hingebungsvoll er ihn betreibt und wie viel Ponys ihm bedeuten. Das ist etwas, was das buch absolut besonders macht.
Trotz alldem, trotz des schweren Starts in die Geschichte und mit Katherine, trotz der mir etwas fehlenden Liebe, habe ich Die Wellington Saga - Verführung sehr genossen. Denn alles in allem ist das zweite Buch der Reihe, eine gelungene Fortsetzung und eine nette, sexy, süße und witzige Geschichte. Und ich bin auf jeden Fall gespannt, wie die Reihe mit dem dritten Band zu ende geht.

Und der nächste im Del Campo Clan. Sebastian ist das komplette Gegenteil von Alejandro. Frauen und Party's interessieren ihn mehr als Verantwortung zu übernehmen und pünktlich zum Polotraining zu kommen. Aber wie lange lässt seine Familie ihn das noch durchgehen? Etwas muss sich ändern ... Als die junge Kat in sein Leben tritt, soll sich dies auch sofort ändern. Nach nur einer Nacht mit ihr, ist ihm klar, dass er mehr will, als das, was er bisher vom Leben hatte ...
Auf Sebastian war ich echt gespannt. In Band 1 tritt er ja auch schon auf und man merkt sofort, dass er das komplette Gegenteil von Alejandro ist und lockerer drauf ist und einen ganz anderen Lifestyle pflegt. Die Grundidee des Playboys, der sich schlagartig in seinem Charakter ändert, als dann auf einmal die bodenständige und anständige Frau in sein Leben tritt und die anderen Seiten an dem Mann hervor bringt, ist jetzt nicht unbedingt neu. Nacho Figueras liefert eine lockere Umsetzung, die für mich aber leider noch an der Oberfläche liegt und Ausbaufähigkeit besitzt. Vor allem zu Anfang passiert alles auch recht schnell und ich konnte da einiges auch nicht ganz nachvollziehen.
Die Entwicklung der Beziehung z. B. war mir zu schnell, bzw, hab ich anscheinend den Moment verpasst, wo die großen Funken gesprungen sind.
Sebastian beschließt, an seinem Lifestyle was zu ändern und schwups taucht Kat auf. Da ist diese äußerliche Anziehungskraft und sexuelle Spannung, ach und ganz nebenbei verbringen sie auch noch außerhalb des Bettes Zeit miteinander, während sie an einem Projekt arbeiten und entwickeln ziemlich starke Gefühle, über die sie sich später erst wirklich bewusst werden - für mich waren diese aber erstmal überhaupt nicht spürbar. Erst später, als es zum Ende hin ging, hat man mehr Gefühle zwischen beiden wahrnehmen können. Durch den schwachen Start aber macht es das zu nichts allzu Authentischen. Für mich eher eine lockere Liebesgeschichte, die eher noch an der Oberfläche liegt.
Etwas unnötig fand ich die Tatsache, dass der Autor neben der Hauptgeschichte einen Charakter hineingearbeitet hat, der zwar für Drama gesorgt hat, aber auch eher für Drama, das die Seiten unnötig gefüllt hat, in denen man die Entwicklung der Beziehung weiter hätte ausbauen können.
Charaktere
Sebastian - der typische Frauenheld, der viel zu oft Party macht. Keine Charakterzüge, die man nicht schon kennt. Dieser Umstieg von Playboy zum Sympathisanten für Monogamie und ernste Beziehungen war mir etwas zu schnell und abrupt, sodass ich ihm diese nicht vollständig abnehmen konnte. Aber zugegeben war er mit seinem veränderten Charakter natürlich kein schlechter Protagonist. Er hat gelernt, dass er mit alten Verhaltensweisen nicht weit kommt und für sich herausfinden muss, was er im Leben will.
Kat bietet da natürlich das perfekte Gegenstück. Sie weiß bereits, was sie im Leben will, übt den Beruf, den sie liebt auch leidenschaftlich aus und ist nur für Ernstes zu haben. Mit ihrem Charakter ließ auch hier der Autor eher die Oberfläche sehen und sie zeichnet sich für mich auch nicht wirklich besonders aus. Sie ist stets höflich und nett, versucht es Anderen Recht zu machen, verliert ihr Selbstbewusstsein aber nicht, fühlt sich in Sebastians Welt aber erstmal völlig verloren und so nimmt sie auch Abstand von Sebastian, sobald es einen Anflug von Drama gibt, was dafür gesorgt hat, dass sie den Großteil des Buches gefühlt eher getrennt verbracht haben als zusammen.
Die Nebencharaktere waren auch in Ordnung. Die meisten kennt man bereits aus dem ersten Band. Unter anderem natürlich auch Alejandro. Keine Ahnung, was in diesem Band mit ihm los war, aber zum Großteil war er tatsächlich eher etwas nervig als sympathisch. Schade eigentlich.

Der 2. Band bietet einem von der Grundidee nichts Neues, weshalb es ziemlich schade war, dass die Umsetzung meiner Meinung nach nicht allzu gut gelungen ist. Bei den Charakteren und deren Beziehung blieb der Autor eher an der Oberfläche und hat deren Potential leider nicht immer ganz ausgeschöpft.

Bei dem Buch handelt es sich um Teil zwei der Wellington-Saga von Nacho Figueras und Jessica Whitman. Ich habe dieses Buch in zwei Tagen im Urlaub verschlungen. Nach Todesfang (eigentlich ja nicht so mein Genre) hat es mich so gefangen, dass ich es kaum aus der Hand legen konnte.

Im Gegensatz zum ersten Teil, wo eher mit Blicken und Gesten heiße Stimmung gemacht wird, geht es im zweiten Teil schon recht schnell heiß her. Ok, wundert jetzt auch niemanden, da ja Sebastian schon als Playboy bekannt ist. Nichtsdestotrotz kann man Sebastian Gefühlskälte Frauen gegenüber vorwerfen. Er hat bis jetzt halt einfach noch nicht die Mrs. Right gefunden.
Mir hat ja der erste Teil schon sehr gefallen, deswegen war ich skeptisch ob der zweite Teil dies auch schaffen wird und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Die Teile sind ähnlich und klar die Storys kenne wir doch schon zu genüge, aber nichtsdestotrotz ist der zweite Teil anders, als der erste Teil. Er ist genauso sinnlich, nur dass man hier halt schneller zur Sache kommt.
Die weibliche Hauptprotagonistin schließt man sehr schnell ins Herz und zeigt auch, dass sie eine selbstbewusste Persönlichkeit ist. Was mir sehr gut gefallen hat ist, dass in diesem Teil viele Dinge über Filmproduktionen vorkommen, und dies ein bisschen die Thematik um das Polo-Spiel aufhebt. Versteht mich nicht falsch, Polo ist bestimmt interessant, aber ständig nur über Polo zu lesen, kann auch trotz heißen Szenen ziemlich ermüdend sein ;).
Sebastian macht im Laufe des Buches eine deutliche Wandlung durch, die mir sehr gut gefallen hat. Er wird sozusagen vom Playboy zum liebenden Mann, wird sich klar, dass er solche Gefühle noch bei keiner anderen Frau hatte. Diese Wandlung finde ich sehr gut gelungen, obwohl es von Anfang an sowieso klar war, dass es so kommen wird. Trotzdem wirkt sie nicht so aufgesetzt.
Vom Schreibstil her liest sich das Buch sehr einfach und vor allem schnell. Ideal ist es auch, dass es immer wieder in kurze Kapitel gegliedert ist und dies verstärkt den Effekt noch, immer wieder ein Kapitel weiterzulesen.
Es war die ideale Lektüre für den Urlaub, um zwischen Pool, Strand, Meer und Cocktails am Liegestuhl zu entspannen. Natürlich musste ich auch den letzten Teil der Wellington-Saga lesen, was ich davon halte erfährt ihr natürlich in einer späteren Rezension ;).

Im zweiten Teil der Wellington Saga, vom Ideengeber Nacho Figueras, dreht sich alles um Sebastian Del Campo, den man bereits im Vorgänger kennenlernt.
Der zweite Band der Reihe entführt erneut in die Welt des Polospiels, auch wenn dieses hier weitläufig in den Hintergrund rückt.
Nachdem Sebastian als Frauenheld mein Interesse weckte, war ich neugierig auf seine Story.
Der Klappentext tat sein übriges.
Das Cover gleicht dem des ersten Bands und ist elegant gestaltet.
Der frauenverschleißende Playboy fiel mir schon im ersten Band positiv auf.
Seine Art ist charmant und witzig, was ihn sehr sympathisch macht.
Ein wenig unrealistisch empfand ich, seine zu schnell eintretende Wandlung zum treuen
und liebevollen „Hündchen“.
Ganz neu eingeführt, wird Katherine, Tochter der Haushälterin und leidenschaftliche Regisseurin.
Ihre Passion für die Geschichte der Del Campos ist ansteckend!
Katherine bringt einen erfrischenden Wind in die Story.
Sie ist eine sehr starke und gutmütige Protagonistin.
Der Beginn der Story um Sebastian und Katherine ist interessant und fesselnd.
Hier geht es über witzige und charmante Szenen bis hin zu verlockender Sinnlichkeit.
Es machte Spaß den Beginn ihrer Geschichte zu verfolgen.
Leider gelang es ihr aber nicht die Spannung zu halten.
Vor allem im mittleren Teil kämpfte ich mit den vielen Längen, die der Story die Lebendigkeit nahmen.
Währenddessen kommt es vor allem zum Ende – dank einer unausstehlichen Nebenprotagonistin – zu einer sehr dramatisch-überzogenen Spannung.
Neben dem Wiedersehen mit bereits bekannten Charakteren, erfährt man hier auch wie das Leben der Familie um Alexander Del Campo weitergeht.
Der Schreibstil ist angenehm.
Die kurzen und knackigen Kapitel lassen auch hier ein schnelles Vorankommen zu.
Teil 2 der Reihe bietet eine interessante Geschichte und einen Einblick in die Anfänge der Del Campo-Dynastie.
Leider nehmen die vielen Längen oftmals den Lesespaß.
Eine softe Lovestory - nett für zwischendurch.

Orte:einerseits spielt es im luxuriösen und reichen Wellington in er Stadt, wo sowohl Sebastian als auch Kat aufgewachsen sind und andererseits in Hollywood in dem Kat eigentlich lebt. Iuch fand beide Orte wirklich gut beschrieben und ich konnte mir beide Orte richtig gut vorstellen.
Personen:Ich mochte die beiden Protagonisten wirklich sehr gerne, auch wenn mich beide manchmal wirklich etwas genervt haben, aber eigentlich hatten beide einen tollen und tiefgründigen Charakter und ich musste bei manchen Konversationen der beiden wirklich lachen. Auch die anderen Personen haben mir meistens wirklich gut gefallen.
Gestaltung:Mir gefällt das Cover wirklich sehr gut und ich finde es passt einfach zum Buch, da es selber sehr elegante in diesem glitzernden weiß aussieht und das Gebäude da wahrscheinlich das Haus zeigen soll in dem Sebastian aufgewachsen ist. Auch die Kapitelgestaltung hat mir wieder gut gefallen.
Schreibstil: Ich fand ihn wirklich gut und ich konnte das Buch wirklich sehr schnell lesen, auch wenn es manchmal etwas langweilig geworden ist. Die Dialoge fand ich manchmal etwas zu aufgesetzt und zu gestelzt, dafür konnte ich mir alles durch gute Beschreibungen gut vorstellen.
Geschichte:Die Grundidee an sich hat mir wirklich gut gefallen, allerdings fand ich es an manchen Stellen echt langweilig und ich finde man hätte mehr aus dem Buch machen können, trotzdem wurde es auch an manchen Stellen spannend, dass man einfach weiterlesen musste und da ich den Schreibstil schnell lesen konnte wurde es nur an kürzeren Stellen langweilig.

Meinung:
Nachdem das Buch ungefähr einen Monat im Regal stand, ist der zweite Teil der Wellington Saga mit auf Teneriffa gekommen und dort habe ich es am Pool in nicht mal 24 Stunden durchgelesen.
Katherine ist Regisseurin und Drehbuchautorin, doch seit ihrem letzten Film, der total gefloppt ist, muss sie von Ersparnissen leben und bekommt keinen Job mehr. Eigentlich lebt sie in ihrem kleinem Haus in L.A. doch ihr Vater hatte einen Schlaganfall und da sie ihre Mutter unterstützen möchte, geht sie wieder zurück in ihre Heimat Wellington. Dort lernt sie Sebastian kennen und die beiden versuchen sich an einem gemeinsamen Filmprojekt, was allerdings nicht jedem gefällt, denn eigentlich sollte Sebastian auf dem Pferd sitzen und nicht hinter den Kameras...
Der zweite Teil hat mir sehr viel besser gefallen, als Band 1 damals. Die Aspekte des Filmdrehs und dem Beruf haben wir sehr gut gefallen und haben das Buch dadurch besonders gemacht. Auch die Charaktere haben mir sehr viel besser gefallen und waren schöner ausgearbeitet, wodurch sie mir sehr sympatisch waren. Ein großer Aspekt, der mich im ersten Teil extrem gestört hat, war, dass es mir viel zu schnell ging, es zu kitschig und unrealistisch war. All das sind Dinge, die es in diesem Teil nicht geben hat und ich die Gefühle nachvollziehen konnte und die Protagonisten nicht so viel nachgedacht, sondern einfach gemacht haben.
Ich glaube man merkt es schon, aber zwischen Band 1 und 2 liegen Welten und der zweite Teil hat mir so viel besser gefallen, dass ich jetzt mal gespannt bin, was der letzte Teil der Reihe für mich bereit hält. Dennoch ist ein Buch, was wirklich nur für die kurzweilige Unterhaltung dient, denn es ist jetzt ungefähr sechs Tage her, dass ich das Buch gelesen habe und ich kann mich jetzt schon an so vieles nicht mehr erinnern und eigentlich bleiben mir Geschichten lange im Gedächtnis.

Meinung:

Endlich konnte ich die Fortsetzung der Wellington Saga lesen und dieses Mal geht es um Sebastian und Kat. Beide treffen sich durch einen unterhaltsamen Zufall und man merkt schon recht schnell, dass es zwischen den beiden knistert.
Persönlich hat mir die Fortsetzung recht gut gefallen, obwohl ich es auch wieder etwas schade fand, dass einfach die Sache mit dem Polospiel zu kurz gekommen ist. Aber ansonsten war die Handlung wirklich sehr unterhaltsam und angenehm zu lesen. Ich fand es toll, dass die Geschichte zwischen Sebastian und Kat etwas intensiver war, als im Vorgänger. Zumindest hat es so auf mich gewirkt. So hat mir hier die Liebesgeschichte etwas besser gefallen. Schon ihr Kennenlernen fand ich witzig und auch die Abschnitte, in denen Kat eifersüchtig gewirkt hat, gegenüber Liberty, fand ich toll. Natürlich aber auch der Rest.
Die Nebenerzählung über Kats Arbeit fand ich recht interessant und hat gut zur Geschichte gepasst. Mir hat es gefallen, wie sie versucht wider erfolgreich zu werden, nachdem sie einen Flop als Regisseurin gehabt hat.
Die Charaktere fand ich toll. Sowohl Sebastian als auch Kat fand ich sympathisch. Beide wirkten für mich recht authentisch.
Auch die Nebencharaktere haben mir wieder gefallen. Es gibt übrigens ein Widersehen mit alten Bekannten.

Persönlich hat mir die Fortsetzung recht gut gefallen, obwohl ich es auch wieder etwas schade fand, dass einfach die Sache mit dem Polospiel zu kurz gekommen ist. Aber ansonsten war die Handlung wirklich sehr unterhaltsam und angenehm zu lesen. Ich fand es toll, dass die Geschichte zwischen Sebastian und Kat etwas intensiver war, als im Vorgänger. Zumindest hat es so auf mich gewirkt. So hat mir hier die Liebesgeschichte etwas besser gefallen. Schon ihr Kennenlernen fand ich witzig und auch die Abschnitte, in denen Kat eifersüchtig gewirkt hat, gegenüber Liberty, fand ich toll. Natürlich aber auch der Rest.
Die Nebenerzählung über Kats Arbeit fand ich recht interessant und hat gut zur Geschichte gepasst. Mir hat es gefallen, wie sie versucht wider erfolgreich zu werden, nachdem sie einen Flop als Regisseurin gehabt hat.
Die Charaktere fand ich toll. Sowohl Sebastian als auch Kat fand ich sympathisch. Beide wirkten für mich recht authentisch.
Auch die Nebencharaktere haben mir wieder gefallen. Es gibt übrigens ein Widersehen mit alten Bekannten.

"Wild One" the second passionate and intriguing romance in the "Polo Season" trilogy heats up when Kat Parker a screenwriter with writer's block returns to Wellington, Florida after her father is hospitalized with a stroke. Planning to substitute as the Del Campo's housekeeper while her mother looks after her father she bumps into the handsome, raffish and wealthy playboy Sebastian who's recovering from a beating in a bar.
For Sebastian Kat is a breath of fresh air as his troubles begin to escalate. Frustrated by his brother's grumbling about his performance on the polo field, disenchanted by his wild social life and looking for a new direction in his life an opportunity presents itself when he collaborates with Kat on "Twenty-Five Roses" a screenplay about the life of his grandmother Victoria.
But, as their chemistry ignites a clash over the screenplay tears them apart. Undaunted, wanting to be hired as the producer for the project Sebastian procures the necessary funding only to be chased by the backer's wife;the talented, beautiful but needy Liberty Smith. As the cameras roll Kat and Sebastian yearning to reconnect not only must admit the depth of their feelings and trust each other but follow their hearts if they want a future together.
Jessica Whitman sweeps the reader into wealthy, polo-obsessed Wellington, Florida where "La Victoria" the Del Campo's team is on top even though Sebastian's performance has been subpar, creating a clash of wills with his angry brother Alejandro. In an atmosphere of discontent Kat Parker the daughter of the Del Campo's housekeeper whose Hollywood career is floundering after directing a Hollywood flop meets the naturally talented and freewheeling Sebastian who's struggling with uncertainty about his future. The characters are realistic and compelling like smart, talented and witty Kat Parker who's focused on rejuvenating her Hollywood directorial career when she meets the fun-loving, cocky , sexy and charming polo player Sebastian Del Campo, a man haunted by the strict upbringing and philandering of his father. In this story the reader's again reunited with the insightful and wise Pilar Del Campo, the conservative and responsible elder brother Alejandro and his dedicated and amiable wife the team's veterinarian Georgia .

I enjoyed this one more than the first in the series. A nice, fun and sexy contemporary romance. The characters were well rounded (hizzah for third person POV), the plot was interesting and settings unique.
My only complaint would be that the the actress' antics in the second half were a bit much.

I loved the first book, High Season, and this was another fun, flirty read featuring Polo and the Del Campo family. It reminded me a bit of the Jilly Cooper novels, especially Polo, having that same light hearted, drama fest air.
Sometimes you want a read that's solid drama, intense and moody and at other times you need a book like this, one that's fun to read, an escape into a world you’ve never touched, where its all glamour and glitz on the top and horses, hard work and sweat underneath.
In horse-riding its like most sports, the easier it looks the harder you know it really is, that only intense training produces those results. I’ve ridden ( still have Muska my 26 year old Icelandic mare at home in the garden ) but never been in competitive sports, never seen anything like a Polo match, and yet from novels and my own experience with horses I’ve an idea of just how much goes into it, and how expensive and sponsor dependent it is.
I loved Sebastian in the last book, love that easy going, fun air he has about him, and in this book we see he also has a more serious side, that there’s a reason for his blend of frivolity and seeming carelessness. Kat too was a great lead, I understood her issues, how hard it must be to replicate the success of her first film, when after that flop of the second no-one wanted to take a chance. That old adage about never resting on your laurels springs to mind – she didn’t want to rest, wanted to work, to keep going but Film making is a small world, the risks are high, and those with the money to back something don’t like high risk ventures.
Its another fun, sensual read, with realistic people and that felt “real” to me, knowing little about how that world actually works. I had no trouble imaging the scenes, keeping up with the plots, the problems, that worries and then when things went right that “down” drama made it feel so much sweeter.
Its a read I’ll be happy to enjoy again when i want a fun, summery romance, an escape from reality.

I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down once I started it. From the characters to the backdrop of the story, this book had me hooked from page one and has me looking forward to the next book in the series.
Sebastian and Kat were wonderful, strong characters and watching them work to find their happy ever after was so satisfying. I love how their story developed. Kat is down on her luck, Sebastian is off his game, and together they seem to find the spark they both need to find and reignite their passion for the work they love, as well as for each other. I love watching Kat find her creative muse in Sebastian’s grandmother. You could feel the passion and creativity that consumed her as she prepared her manuscript. It was also wonderful getting to see both Sebastian and his brother find themselves again on the polo field. Both characters seem to find themselves by finding each other.
Even when Kat and Sebastian are apart, there is never a doubt that these two belong to one another. I loved that even though there were issues that kept them apart, there was never a lot of angsty drama that either of them caused. Their story was one of situation, misunderstanding, and a bit of pride keeping them from being together, which really allowed me to feel just how deep these two had fallen for each other.
Sebastian and Kat had a wonderful supporting cast of characters – from Liberty, the Hollywood star, to Camelia, Kat’s best friend. There were so many wonderful little side-stories going on that made this book seem like a real life read. And catching up with Alejandro, Georgia, Pilar, and some of the other characters from the first book was a nice bonus.
I would definitely recommend this book to any romance reader – whether you like books about Hollywood stars and scandal, or books about sports and billionaires, there’s a bit of everything in this one wrapped up in a wonderful love story that should appeal to everyone.

Sebastian has been told he is the second best in everything that he does always chasing the illusive spot to be his own man. He loves his family but their choices do not always have to be his and while he is on the sidelines with an injury unable to play polo maybe he will think through what he wants to do vs. what he is forced to do. Katarina fulfilled her dreams young with an award winning movie, but a flop has caused her to make ends meets where they never touched before. When her father has a medical emergency and she is called home it is a minor touch of fate that she comes face-to-face with Sebastian and the story of a lifetime that she must write.
Sebastian has always played on and off the field but with Kat it seems like there is only one person he wishes to be with day and night. They carve out time while she is trying to help with her father and when Sebastian talks about his grandmother the life she lead that was so out of control and interesting Kat realizes this woman has a story of a lifetime to be told. Each day Sebastian reads his grandmother’s journal and each night Kat put thought to paper until all the words make a screenplay that everyone is eager to have a piece of including Sebastian.
Perhaps Sebastian has all the right players off the field this time with the money, connections, and drive to make a movie that Kat would direct. They are a perfect fit behind the camera but Kat knows they must be professional and uncompromising until the movie is wrapped up and shipped off which is difficult for both of them. Every day they work side by side while Kat tries to get just the right passion for the film. Only when Sebastian and his brother are riding on their ponies does the heart and soul of the story come into play and the realization that together they can make a life time of real life romantic magic.

Horses, a beautiful setting, sexy polo players, money, sex, romance…all combine perfectly for a great, fast-paced summer read! Sebastian is a talented polo player who can have anyone and anything he wants, but it’s gotten quite boring for him. Kat was on her way to becoming Hollywood royalty with her screenplays. But, one bad movie, and she is struggling to make ends meet. She’s called home to Wellington, FL to help her mother after her father suffers a stroke. A chance meeting between Kat and Sebastian, and their lives will be forever changed. However, their happiness will be challenged in many ways, especially when a beautiful Hollywood star enters the picture.
I thought Seb and Kat were a great couple. They really completed the other. Both are trying to find their own paths in the world, and together they could be unstoppable. Seb is the stereotypical playboy, but when Kat comes into his life, he’s ready to change all that. It was different seeing the guy knowing what he wants and the girl running scared. Seb really is caring and loyal to Kat even when she doesn’t see it. In addition to loving the characters, I liked the storyline as well. It gave me an inside look into the game of polo and the crazy world of Hollywood. Through Kat, I saw how hard it is, especially for women sometimes and the double-standards that exist. Yet, the story was also entertaining, especially Victoria, what a character. Even though she wasn’t living, she was a star of the book. Whitman did a great job of combining the polo world with Hollywood and added in some spicy romance. Great read! Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Seb is the stereotypical playboy, but when Kat comes into his life, he’s ready to change all that. It was different seeing the guy knowing what he wants and the girl running scared. Im Gegensatz zum Rest der Familie ist ihm sein Ruf egal, er möchte einfach nur sein Leben genießen. Dann lernt er die Regisseurin Katherine kennen und er beginnt seinen Lebensstil zu hinterfragen. Doch kann er das wilde Party Leben hinter sich lassen und sich auf eine Beziehung einlassen?
Meine Meinung:
Nachdem mir der erste Teil der Reihe so gut gefallen hat, hatte ich große Erwartungen an dieses Buch, welche teilweise erfüllt wurden.
Von Anfang an taucht man in die Welt des Polo ab und ist im Geschehen mittendrin. Durch die Perspektivenwechsel lernt man schnell beide Hauptcharaktere kennen und kann sich auch gut in sie hinein versetzen. Die Protagonisten in diesem Buch waren mir sofort sehr sympathisch, da sie nicht perfekt waren, sondern ihre eigenen Ecken und Kanten hatten. Auch das Thema Pferde ist in diesem Buch nicht mehr ganz so präsent wie im ersten Teil, was mir auch sehr gut gefallen hat. An sich also beste Voraussetzungen.
Leider konnte ich mich nicht wirklich mit dem recht oberflächlichen Drama zwischen Kat und Sebastian anfreunden. Probleme, die die beiden hatten, wurden immer auf wenigen Seiten abgehandelt und gelöst, was mich teilweise sehr gestört hat. Hier hätte ich mit noch etwas mehr Tiefgang gewünscht.
Alles in allem jedoch eine gelungene Geschichte.

A fun fluff of a book. About Polo. I want to go watch a polo match! Nacho Figureras apparently is one of the top polo players in the world and this book is all about the inner workings of Polo and its accompanying lifestyle.
The romance is sweet – a veterinarian trying to find her way in the world and establish her own identify. A top polo player who’s the scion of a wealthy Argentinian family trying to redeem the family name. After spotting an injury in one of his horses, he hires her as a back-up vet. She’s stuck dealing with the head vet, an alcoholic exist pig well past his prime who does everything to get in her way.
There’s definitely a pretty woman feel to it, but she’s not a prostitute. Not great lit, but really fun. I wish, however, there was more on the actual game of polo in the story.
I’d read more books in this series – fun summer reads. 4/5

Book 2 in the series, I really enjoyed the first one, and I have say I enjoyed book 2 as well.
Kat comes home from LA to help her mum as her dad as a stroke, and is in hospital and them rehab for awhile.
She meets Sebestian Del Campo when he delivers flowers for her mum, she thinks he is a delivery guy, but still is taken with him...she later meets him at the Del Campo mansion when she is cleaning for her mum.
They go out, she learns about Seb's grandmother, and writes a film about the grandmother's life. She falls totally in love, as does Seb and has a movie hit on her hands.
Will be reading book 3 tomorrow.
I will need to check if Jessica Whitman has written anything else - I find her quite similiar to one of my fav's Jilly Cooper.

This is a Goodreads win review. This book is about a polo player and a look at high stakes polo. When I lived in in Calif they have a big polo grounds and I enjoyed watching it. Sebastian finds his party life not as much fun as before and he meets a girl and wants to have a more meaning filled life.
