This book is about combating two emerging forces that threaten to envelope and devastate our country. While it is a fictional novel there is a lot of truth and facts in the book that are informative while entertaining. It carries forward the main characters of the previous Brothers to the Bone series. The books main setting is Afghanistan during the early Soviet occupation. Major portions of it is devoted to the Central Intelligence Agency's work behind the scenes in that war. It also touches on an emerging threat here at home. As with all Nathan J. Allison Brothers to the Bone books it is about honor, and about brotherhood. It is about the central characters of the book as they faced danger and intrigue at home and abroad. The book is about threats that some saw coming but others did not and how we increasingly walked into a trap, not having done enough to recognize it when it was much smaller and in some ways feed the flames that came back to burn us.

Not just a war story or Hero tale. These nine books are filled with history lessons and amazing insights into the realities that brought our nation into today's most serious jeopardy. Brothers to the Bone should be mandatory reading for every true patriot to grasp the depth and breadth of the socialistic subversive movement coming from within our culture, our internal enemies and our unwittingly corrupt government.
