How do you know a collection of tales is really good? When you lose the original Amazon Kindle copy on your device and rush back online to download it again just to finish reading it!
I went in thinking it would be just an above average book of tales, considering how eloquent the author seemed, but oh boy was I blown away...was I so wrong; this is A-grade stuff.
You don't have to like poetry, like I do, to enjoy this book. The tales are within the structure of poetry and very well imagined. You'll get a unique glimpse of a stunning future for mankind as we leave Earth and venture into the stars.
I felt a bit jealous as I read, [particularly with #9. Take the Pod] since I probably won't be around to see such beautiful new a world envisioned by Nic Cunningham's mind. It's beautiful and awe-inspiring future. If you're a fan of Margaret Atwood [Author of The Handmaid's Tale and Morning in the Burned House] - another awesome poet, you'll also love Nic Cunningham's tales.
I honestly considered giving this book a 4 because I wanted more and it's been such a long time since I've read genuine poetry - I felt like the author was just getting our appetites ready for more and hope he continues. The author's a brilliant writer who's effortlessly able to convey emotion and tone on paper. I was more enthralled by the brevity and detail within each of the twenty-two poems which gives you a slice of our future destination - beyond our planet.
But If I had given this book a four out of five stars, I'd be lying to myself and any potential reader.
It is certainly a tale you will want to revisit. Especially in times when you've given up on the human race. It's a very hopeful and enlightening/uplifting view of the future and I definitely recommend taking a gander.
Nic Cunningham will bring this genre of Science Fiction a boost for years to come.

Very vividly written poetry about life as space colonists, it also has some interesting references to mythology and provides insight in what it might be to venture out into space and be a citizen of for instance Mars. Recommended for space enthusiasts.
