Logan squinted at the man. “I can get pregnant?” “You can,” he replied. “I can help you break the news to your partner if you like.” Logan shook his head. “No partner to worry about,” he said.
The man looked at him curiously, but Logan had said all he intended to about that. He pushed himself up to sit, and took the cup from the doctor. He looked around the room. He was definitely in a hospital, he decided. Just not the usual hospital.
“How did I get here?” he asked. “Your friends brought you,” the man said. “An interesting female alpha and two males, one of whom claims to be your alpha.” “We have different definitions of that word,” Logan said. “What’s your name?” “Dr. Henry Snow,” he replied. Logan nodded slowly. “Who’s the other male?” he asked, though he suspected he already knew...
How would Hail take the news that he is now a father?

I probably would have given this series at least three stars (maybe four, depending on my mood), but after what the author did to Hail and Logan, I'm not feeling particularly generous. It was unnecessary and depressing, and made the first book a complete waste of time.
this was very well written. it was a different take on shifters in some ways.. and i really enjoyed it. i loved reading the characters and their problems.. their love.. their adventure and twists and turns.. things happened i wasnt expecting... but then i was like holy crap.. i get it haha.. it was wonderful. i loved this and im glad i got to review it
4.5 stars! Feels for days. I actually had tears at one point and if you've read start to finish even if you've read Burning Transgressions before, you'll know exactly where because you probably did too.
I began with loving Killian and Pan. These two men have completely opposite personalities and experiences. The way they see life is very different and it causes issues later in the book with their relationship and how they interact together with the world around them. In some ways those differences are essential to bringing out the best in each of them, an in others it becomes a wall that seems too high to breach. Together I really like what they could become.
Killian is a teacher, a patient, kind, caring, committed teacher. His past makes him keep his ambitions centered on teaching. In the privacy of his mind and at night, however, his dreams revolve around the cute, color-changing, energetic Pan. He yearns for a life with Pan in a way he thinks he can never have so he limits his desires to those nighttime fantasies. When a struggling boy loses control his whole world is thrown into chaos. It also just might lead to what he's always secretly wanted.
Pan longed for Killian the way Killian longed for him. His difficulties, however, lay more with the present than with his past. Understanding that everyone has issues with the past, his focus is on the way everyone lives as if they were continual refugees instead of building lives in safety. No one changes beyond the initial move to Regis Thyme. He does his best to allow his fabulousness to move others to embrace their own, but so far it hasn't caught on. What is catching is something far more painful and transformative.
With all the drama of the outside world and who to trust versus who would betray the story doesn't lack any intensity or intrigue. The whole thing was really intense and a bit shocking too. Everything in their world is changing in ways that they couldn't predict due to their isolation and lack of information. That ignorance causes suffering on both sides of the wall. What Pan discovers when he's outside is a small group they've chosen to consider family and together with what Pan knows and has experienced, they've decided to head home to RT. Finding a hidden compound on the way is beyond anything we've seen so far in this series. It's a good thing that Killian finds himself there as well. By following Pan he's able to help them all and when they return to RT they provide the information necessary to pull together the teams built at the end of Burning Transgressions. Getting to see Hail, Logan, and Mariella was really nice. Especially hearing Hail's enthusiasm and seeing Logan in his state and his love for Hail too. Then what followed was intense and led to my moment of tears. From Pan's role carried out under duress to Killian's role in support and focus and then to the rest of the team and the devastating discoveries and events...I was propelled from moment to moment and then compelled to cry for the loss.
Everything that happened when they returned to RT was more intense but it was more from everyone's reactions than anything else. Under stress we all do and say things that might not be wise and there were many people who found themselves in that exact situation. I was pleased with how those actions were addressed because it showed maturity, control, and determination to always be accountable and strive for what's right. Pan's outburst, Killian's realizations, RT's evolution...all of it shows progress and something far more hopeful for their future. I'm so very excited to see what happens next.
I rounded down from 4.5 because while I really enjoyed these men, I felt that their coming together lacked the deep love that could be had through honest communication and acceptance. It was coming around before things really blew up and then after that fallout things jumped to an even better place but it wasn't really solidified by the end of the book for me. I wasn't a fan of their immaturity and both men showed that in different ways. Overall, this was a really great continuation but the bar was set so high with book one that book two had too much to live up to. As a combined set as this one is I'm uncomfortable with it being called a Complete Series because there is so much left unsaid and unresolved. I hope this isn't the end, if it is, I'm disappointed, if it isn't, then I'm hopeful and more than excited for what this series has to offer.
Read and willingly reviewed this ARC for the author
Burning Transgressions, Book 1 in the series focuses on Logan and the small pack he is part of. The leader of the pack is homophobic and he finds out Logan and another male pack member want to engage in sexual acts together it'll be trouble. Mariella is the only female in the pack and the leaders lover. Both Ade smart and know how to handle the pack leader. Unbeknownst to them is that once a male accepts the semen of another it causes them to undergo reproductive change. When Logan collapses after a night of passion, his one night stand/packmate puts him in bed and hopes he'll be better when daylight comes. Things get a little finicky in the light of day and the pack leader kicks an unconscious Logan out of the pack. Mariella takes a stand and also chooses to leave and stay with Logan to get them to people who maybe able to help.
Regis Thyme is a facility all wild shifters know to stay away from. Rumor has it that those who have gone there have never been seen again. More or less its practically prison and a death sentence.
Marielle takes an unconscious Logan (and the rest of the pack decided to leave) to Regis Thyme to get help for Logan and soon find out there's more to the rumor than they thought.
A good start to the series. I liked learning about these shifters, the difference between the outsider/wild shifters and those living in Regis Thyme, and the different phases of mutation. Logan was a hard character to get use to but I did and I liked that Hail, his love interest and a medic of Regis Thyme, managed to ground the wild and destructive Logan.
That being said the books did get a bit disjointed, making it somewhat confusing at times. Things were happening off page and readers didn't get to see the discussions and plans resulting in said scenarios making it confusing. A good example of this is the part were Logan loyalty was tested. Readers knew that Mariella was planning to figure out who was leaking info to George (their old pack leader) but not how and when. So when it happened it was kind of a "what the hell is happening?" and it was hard understanding the reasoning behind the action even though it was foreshadowed that Mariella had a plan to weed out the traitor. I still have questions in concerns to the traitors reasoning for leaking info and how he did it.
Dying to Live, Book 2 takes place a year after the first book and focuses on two new characters, Killian and Pan. Killian and Pan both have a crush on each other and it's been a long standing one. This series must be read in order so if you haven't read book 1 I recommend that you do. Neither realizes the other has feelings for the other and are too afraid to act on it. Killian is like the head teacher and organizer of the only school in Regis Thyme. Pan is pretty much everyone's favorite hair dresser.
During a fiasco at school Killian gets injured by one of his adolescent students. Instead of seeking aid for the horrible wound he decided to handle the the issue with the student and their parent. He only seeks help when his health takes a turn for the worse. But he's a little too late and ends up collapsing on Pan who ends up dragging him off to the hospital.
I'll just skip to the point. It turns out Killian has a new mutagen introduced into his system and it's causing his DNA to mutate again. He'll be a new type of wolf shifter entering the third phase (something no one in Regis Thyme has experienced as of yet). Although Killian has his own theories about it and how it correlates with the news coverage he's been keeping up on about the outside world. Pan also ends up getting the virus that pushes him into the third phase. Killian doesn't help either by accidentally causing him to go through the second phase consecutively.
Things go a bit to hell when Pan in pain manages to escape the facility and Killian gives chase to bring him back. The two discover a new enemy.
An intriguing development with the shifter mutation. Killian was a likable character but Pan was harder to like for me. He was quite childish and his rash behavior irritated me. I'm going to say it now that the series would become a really tough read with the direction it took and I don't know if there was to be more I would even bother giving it a read.
Killian's dreams also didn't help in making the decision. I just thought it was strange and could be confusing if I hadn't been as attentive as I was when reading.
An ARC was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

“Shifters age differently than humans. Your age is unclear within a twenty-year margin, and is dependent on when and how you changed.”
New author Liam Kingsley writes shifter novels that take the genre to an entirely new spectrum. ‘‘The first five hundred shifters were gay men. Out of the ten thousand shifters who live here, nearly sixty percent are gay men.’ He has written this his debut novels with the able assistance of Preston Walker. His career should be a solid one to follow. Now Liam is on his own and in this book he has included the initial volume BURNING TRANSGRESSIONS as Part 1. DYING TO LIVE is Part 2.
For a taste of what is ahead, the following was extracted from the second book: ‘Sweat glistened like dew across his firm, muscular chest, glittering like cresting ocean waves as he heaved and panted, writhing against his lover. Vanilla and cinnamon scents filled the air as he gazed with his sea-colored eyes up into Killian’s face. “Love me,” he whispered without moving his lips. His eyes seemed to darken and deepen, drawing Killian in.. “Love me.” The echo rippled through the dreamscape, intense and insistent. Killian was ethereal, magical, larger than life; Killian fell into him and they tumbled through the cosmos, making love amongst the stars. “Come,” the man whispered in his ear. A flash of guilt and fear turned the star- speckled sky red, and a blast of super nova brought forth the stern, disapproving face of Killian’s old employer, Jerry Barnhouse. “Sin! It’s a damn sin! You are a role model in this community, Mister Walsh. This is unacceptable behavior for a man in your position! I can’t fire you, but trust and believe, if you don’t resign I will make your life a living hell.” With those final words, his narrow, rat like mouth split wide, opening into raining fire and brimstone. Killian grasped at his lover as he fell toward the scene, but his lover faded like a ghost. “Help me!” Killian cried. But his lover only smiled and winked before disappearing in a puff of smoke. The massive jaws were upon him now, he could feel the fire licking the soles of his feet, he wasn’t going to make it this time. He squeezed his eyes shut, then screamed as spikes dug into the sensitive spot between his toes. The scream transcended the dream, bridging the space between wake and sleep. Killian heard it before he felt it and awoke with a start, drenched in sweat and shaking in fear. His tiny grey kitten squawked and leapt off of his feet, darting out of the room. With a gasp and a frustrated growl, Killian pulled his feet toward him. Grover hissed at him from under the couch, defending his decision to bury his needle-like claws into Killian’s feet while he was lying defenselessly asleep. Killian resisted the urge to throw a shoe at the irritating little mammal. He rubbed his face and groaned. Maybe he still had time to sleep. He hated starting the day with a nightmare haze lingering in the folds of his brain. He had just pulled the sheets over his body and had begun to lie back when the alarm clock interrupted him with its buzzing shriek. Cursing, he smashed the clock to pieces with his fist, he cursed again…’
The progression between Part 1 and Part 2 is best understood by reading them in order. DYING TO LIVE, in synopsis form, offers the transition – ‘Logan squinted at the man. “Who’s the other male?” he asked, though he suspected he already knew...How would Hail take the news that he is now a father?’
Liam pushes the concept of Shifting to new heights – and succeeds, Strong writing with a fine set of twists and a lot of steamy erotica. Watch the name Liam Kingsley!
This book has the first and second books of The Shifter City Series. First is Burning Transgressions a fascinating story the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters likeable. The characters were well developed and thought out. Hail and Logan are the MC’s of this book. There was humor, shifters, a shifter city or prison?, hunters, cool gadgets and so much more in this book. Here is a quote from the book, “Okay first, how is Snow going to find out? Second, you have a new job now. Field medic with the shifter squad.” “Shifter squad?” Hail asked, momentarily amused. “Yes, it’s our superhero team name. Came up with it this morning. Alliteration and everything, Stan Lee would be proud.”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can recommend as a good read.
The Second story is Dying To Live again the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. The characters were well developed and thought out. Killian and Pan are the MC’s of this book. You do see a glimpse of Hail and Logan from the first book in this one too. There was humor, wolves, shifters, betrayal, grief, changes, blue hair and so much more in this book. Here is a quote from the book, “We need to calm them down,” Ru said, chewing his fingernails. “If there are that many, they can escape, they just have to calm down,” “They can’t,” Pan said. “There is no calming, down with this, you run until you collapse, remember?” “Yeah. Yeah, I remember. But Chains…Do you still have the thing?”. There is more but you will need to read the book which I can also recommend as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
BOOK #1 This story begins 10 years after the end of Shifter City Prequel. This is the adventure that the main characters Mariella, Logan and Hail go on trying to save shifters. Logan is street smart, jaded, sarcastic, with a smart mouth. Hail is highly educated, understanding and sweet tempered. On a mission together they learn quickly about each other. They also learn what really matters in life and they're not so different after all.
BOOK #2 This story revolves around Killian, the cool, collected school teacher. He is a creature of habit. One of his habits is getting his hair trimmed on the 15th of every month. Pan is a hair stylist. He is funny, caring, listens to all the gossip and encourages people to be bold and adventurous. He is talented with his pan flute. His talent can effect shifter moods and calm or soothe them. Together these two unique men find themselves involved in the biggest tragedy to strike the Regis Thyme civilization since its launch. I was absolutely glued to this book from beginning to end. I enjoyed it sooo much. The rollercoaster of emotions had some gut dropping falls. But the love and devotion that founded this society never wavered or lost sight of the greater goal. I just wish this was a little longer, or I'm hoping there are more books to come. This is TOO EXTRAORDINARY to end here. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!
This was a pretty good story and the editing was well done. However, I am giving it such a low review for mainly two reasons. 1. The two stories were barely connected together in any way. The only real connection they had was that Regis Thyme was a main setting for both. Even the kinds of shifters they were changed from each book.
2. Most importantly, you did not bring in and barely mentioned the couple from the first book until halfway through the second, then the author only brought Hail in to give a quick update on what was going on with them before he KILLED HIM OFF. And that's all we get. A protagonist from the first book suddenly gets killed off in the second and we get nothing. No closure. No funeral, no look at what Logan is going through, no miraculous return to life (I almost stopped reading when he died but I continued in the hopes that maybe he was just taking a long time to heal and would wake up on top of that van goig "WTF?"). No, he died in an explosion and that's it, we get nothing else and that is why I gave this such a low review because now I feel I got no closure and I am extremely sad.

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book and will definitely recommend it to anyone. I have enjoyed this series and can't wait to see who's going to find love next.
Killian is in love with Pan but can only dream about it. After being forced to resign from teaching after being outed he's scared the same will happen in Regis Thyme. Pan looks forward to the 15th of each month because he gets to see the man of his dreams for his haircut.
There's a strange thing happening to the shifters on the outside and Killian finds himself going through the same after getting bit by one of his students in their shifter form. He's fighting to live. At least that's what everyone assumes. Pan is playing with Eurlyssa little boy when his figure is used as a teething toy. Now finding he's in the same predicament he goes after the pact chasing Killian in need of help himself.
Both men will be fighting for their lives but in the mist of it they also fight to love each other.
This review is only for the second story Dying to Live. If I rated this book on what I thought of the story content it would only get one star but that is not fair to the author. It was well written and had a story to tell.
The story involves mpreg but is not a romance. It is a dark story of the treatment of shifters in an unaccepting world. Our 2 MC have lived in Regis Thyme for many years but circumstances force them into the outside world. There they discover the shifter virus has continued to evolve. Humans are still scared of them and shifters have been told Regis Thyme is a prison for shifters. Pan and Killian end up together again at a secret warehouse and that is where the story takes a cruel and devastating turn.
Be prepared to be horrified, disgusted and heartbroken as you read on. Not my type of story. Trigger warning: evil scientists and death of a loved character.
Last month while scrolling through KU and found a book I just knew I had to read. It was a really good book called "Burning Transgressions" and I gave it 5 stars. l loved both the main characters, Logan and Hail and the secondary characters, especially Mariella. I basically loved everything about it. So when given the chance to review book 2, "Dying to Live" I jumped at it. I thought book 1 was great and didn't think the author could top it but I was wrong "Dying to Live" is pure magic. Once I started reading I couldn't out it down. Jillian and Pan are great, Mariella is awesome as usual and my heart literally broke for Hail and Logan, I mean I cried big ugly tears. The world building is great and the drama & angst is just right. I can't wait to read more from Mr. Kingsley. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Burning Transgressions - 4 stars. I enjoyed this one for the most part, things just felt a bit rushed in how they happened. Everything happened so quickly. Logan and Hail meet, then have sex, then go on a trip, then pregnant, ect.
Dying to Live - 3 stars. This one was a bit scattered in what happened, and a lot of shifter backstory was introduced. I didn't really get Killian's dreams. And I almost stopped reading when
Overall the world building (a walled city of just shifters) was interesting, but I can see where there is room for improvement in the story development.
God I loved this book. First to follow Logan and Hail's journey together as they learn more about each other and their species all while they fight hunter and save some shifters. Then to follow Pan and Killian's story. What a story that was. As they both survive health problems, go on an adventure together, save some more shifters and eventually learn to forgive each other and be happy together. As I said I just loved this book and can't wait for the next Liam Kingsley book to come out! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I loved both books in this series, and I'm a bit sad that there will only be two. Becoming a shifter in this world is frightening and dangerous, but it can also be beautiful and exciting.
While the books focus a lot of time on the overall story, I fell in love with Logan & Hail, and then with Pan & Killian. The second book was much darker than the first, and much more heartbreaking. But I did feel, in the end, that things were hopeful for everyone living in RT.
I was just starting to really enjoy Liam Kingsley's books but I have changed my mine. I could not trust this author enough to let myself care about any of the characters in any of their other books. Liam Kingsley is off my author list.
Enjoyed the story very much. Tne characters were quite varied. Well done. Back ground scenes were interestingly envisioned. Kept me on my toes the whole ride. Thanks.
4 stars for book 1; 2 stars for book 2. Cannot believe the outcome for Hail and Logan though and that is the reason for the deduction. I cried then and that's hard to do for me. I really, really hated that. Kept trying to figure out it I had imagined it.

Regis Thyme safe haven or prison where you go and are never ever seen again if you are a shifter, this is why wild shifters stay away because rumour has it that those that go in never return to the outside.
The first book in the series focuses on Logan and the small pack he is part of. When Logan collapses after a night of passion with one of his fellow pack mates things change in many ways, the worst with the pack dividing. Mariella the only female in the pack and the so called Alpha's girlfriend takes a stand by leaving the pack by staying with Logan and getting him help. The only place she can think that there might be someone to help is at Regis Thyme and soon finds out that there is more to the place than what the rumours have lead others to believe.
Hail has grown up in Regis Thyme since he was sent there as a child, and even though he is working as a medic he still wishes to see the outside world. When Logan and what is left of his pack arrive he is given the chance for his dream to come true by helping in what becomes known as the Shifter Squad.
Book 2 Takes place a year after the first book and focuses on two more members of the Regis Thyme community, Killian the beloved head teacher and Pan who is the favourite hair dresser for many of the residents. Killian and Pan have had a crush on each other for many years, but due to past incidents in Killian's life that haunt his dreams he refuses to act on his feelings.
During a incident at the school Killian gets injured by one of his adolescent students. Instead of seeking help first he decides to handle the the issue with the student and their parents firs, only getting help when things are a little to late and he collapses on to Pan who then has to manage to get him to the hospital for treatment.
Sadly Pan also gets hurt and ends up in hospital with the same problem as Killian's but is also thrust in to the second change that that comes with mating. All hells breaks loose when Pan escapes the hospital and then Regis Thyme, causing Killian follow to bring him back to safety while in the outside world they discover a enemy far worse than they had ever imagined.
I would recommend reading this series in order so that you know who some of the characters are and understand the working shifter relationships. Liam pushes the concept of Shifting to new heights and succeeds, strong writing with a fine set of twists and a lot of steamy coupling.
