READER NOTE: This story features sizzling hot emotions (and physical actions) with an awesome HEA. Only for readers who like their sexy times action to be explicit! Please also note that in this book the laws of quantum astro-physics have been modified for your story-telling pleasure (as in the use of faster than light travel via portals made by ancient space leviathans).
Kara Lockharte is the author of the Space Shifters Chronicles. She loves writing romances with sexy alpha shifters and the strong heroines who can't resist them.
I received a free copy of the book from the author for an honest review. Thank you, Kara Lockharte.
FULL REVIEW
This book is a mix of Mass Effect, werewolves and erotica, if you like all of that, then go ahead and buy it, you don't even need to read on. For those of you who is not sure yet, let's move on to the good, the bad, and the wolfy.
I had some trouble getting into Wanted by the Werewolf Prince. First I thought I wouldn't like it because of the werewolf theme (I started hating them since I read Twilight, they pissed me off so much). But I have to say, this was so much better than I expected.
Yes, it was a hard and slow read for me; yes, there were parts I didn't like, parts I hated. Yet in the end the good parts killed off the bad ones.
You know those porn novels that have minimum story and maximum sex? That’s not the case here. This book is erotic, it does have sex scenes but they’re quite okay to read, it has a good plot, the characters… Well, yeah, let’s talk about those.
The Characters
• Skye – she’s a fantastic pilot, she’s brave and all that kick ass stuff is there too. BUT I got a bit frustrated with her, sometimes she just pissed me off so much I wanted to throw my phone out the window. This doesn’t mean it’s a bad side of the story, it just gives you a different experience with characters. I’ve never met a character like Skye. Even though she pisses me off, I still feel some sort of respect and interest for her. • Ral – oh fuck. This is just. I don’t even have words for this, this man… werewolf… Okay, he’s smart, HOT, badass, HOT, funny, HOT, brave, HOT HOT HOT. I mean he’s almost perfect. And I’m not even sure about the “almost”. Just… So many mixed feelings. Especially the 2-3 final chapters drove me fucking crazy. • Red – she was fun to read, I can’t really say more about her, didn’t really catch a lot of my interest. • Anduin – if any of you know and played Mass Effect 2, this one is like Zaeed Massani, but even more badass. For those of you who don’t… PLAY THE GAME IT’S AWESOME! No, seriously, play the game. Anyway, he is kickin’ ass, he’s funny, cocky, sarcastic and all in all quite a good character. • Skye’s sister, Lauryn, and her husband, Xavier – there was really little about and with those characters, and it’s not Lauryn that caught my eye, but Xavier. I loved his big brother attitude, how protective he was and just the whole character is so GOOD that I just wanted to have him appear and give him a long, nice hug. Because this is the kind of person who would give you the hug until you won’t need it any longer. He will give you his strength until you can stand again. I loved this character, even when there are only a few pages of him.
Some Thoughts
• There were some moments, so unexpected and so perfectly placed, as simple as a hug, they were so sweet and warm, that they just melted my heart. I loved those moments. I just melted away with the thought “I want that too”. • I hated the cursing. I’m not the kind of person who hates swearing in general or swearing phrases that are completely out of the ordinary. But this is just too much. Even for me. I mean really? Holedark? Why the fuck can’t you swear like a normal person? I get the whole sci-fi theme, but c’mon! • I didn’t like most of the sci-fi “terminology”. I just didn’t. Some parts really pissed me off because I know that it doesn’t work like that. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that it’s still sci-fi and fantasy, and it doesn’t really matter what you write in a book like that, scientifically it’s impossible anyway. BUT MAN I CAN’T GET RID OF THAT FRUSTRATION.
ALL IN ALL
I’m giving His Wolfiness ★★★★. It was a great read, but it could be better. I was just very saddened by the ending. It doesn’t feel like the end, there’s no closure for me. On the other hand, it is kind of a nice HEA ending, so I don’t know 😀
I recommend this book to anyone who likes VERY HOT werewolves and steamy sex scenes, along with a good steady plot, some fun action and heartwarming moments.
I liked the plot. however, it was a bit repetitive. I also felt like ether could've been a bit more in the story line between the captain and the Prince.
DNF pretty early in. I just could not get past the severe lack of details about the situation, how everyone got here to be where they are, what their motivations were, why they felt they the way they did about people or things. We’re just supposed to take Skye’s “I’m a badass and I don’t need to acknowledge my super hot and dirty thoughts about this man I’m desperately not trying to flirt with but it’s also ALL I think about” persona and run with it? Why? I don’t know or care enough about her as a character to spend time caring about it. We’re told she’s the toughest pilot ever but just told, never shown. Which happens a lot throughout the beginning. The in space fight scenes were hardly believable or the one on on fighting scenes. Also Ral is your stereotypical “Hot” guy who is all muscle but secretly smart who wants to bang the protagonist. I think that there are so many good reviews for this book just because it’s a werewolf series in space and one too many people are willing to accept terrible plot as gospel. Not for me, wouldn’t recommend for those who like a little adventure, romance, and thought in their novels.
This is more than just the sexy space opera I was expecting and I'm enjoying this very interesting and increasingly complex Science Fiction world. The concept of aliens having taken ancient humans and seeding the universe with their genetically modified offspring is not new but Lockharte makes it new by giving it some interesting twists. This book did better at character and world building and I enjoyed it more than The Boy Who Came Back a Wolf which I also enjoyed. Wanted By the Werewolf Prince avoided the one objection I had to the Boy...Wolf which was the amount of sex in proportion to the amount of character and world building. The main characters and secondary characters in Wanted By the Werewolf Prince are well developed and interesting enough that I already downloaded the next books and re-read The Boy Who Came Back a Wolf. Hope Lockharte is planning to continue this series beyond the current four because there are several characters whose stories I want to read.
Skye Daring is my kind of heroine, she is comfortable is her own human skin. Starship pilot extraordinar, she has guts and morals. Ral is trouble with a capital “T” but maybe she can have him for a quick ride. From the minute they meet their lives are one big dangerous adventure. And it makes for a fun, heartwarming, sexy read.
Title: Wanted By the Werewolf Prince - Space Shifter Chronicles Book 1 Author: Kara Lokcharte Publisher: Published: 10-18-2017 Pages: 200 Genre: Science Fiction Sub-Genre: Space Travel, Shiters, Genetic Engineering, Aliens, Angels, Paranormal Romance, ASIN: Reviewed For Kara Lockharte Reviewer: DelAnne Rating: 4.5 Stars
Whatever your expecting, forget it. Wanted by the Werewolf Prince is not a space odyssey or a sex fest. Yes it des have strong language and mature content, but is not the focus of the story. Nor is it male alpha dominates female human. This story has two strong alpha type personalities that clash through most of the book, but only because Skye fears loosing her own self identity if she gives into Ral. Ral knows that sometimes you must give up control of the battle to win the war. Let the battle of Skye and Ral begin.
The story starts out after she has rescued him and his sister from Cat shifters who captured and imprisoned them. Seria was injured and is present in a healing pod. Skye and her co pilot Red are fending off fighters sent to recapture them. After some fancy maneuvering and outstanding battle strategy they get away. Only to land on a distant planet to make external repairs. Attacked by what appears to be zombie werecats, they defend and defeat them. While Skye finishes repairs Ral investigates makes a startling discovery that changes everything.
All her life Skye has tried to follow the orders of her superiors. The one time she failed to do so cost her her ship and nearly her life. Now she must choose again. Do what is right and be court-martialed or do as she is told and loose her soul? Trust Ral or stand alone, as always? Either way she looses, He is the Crown Prince and she a lowly soldier. As soon as her mission ends he will walk away and she will be alone once more.
Compassion, suspense, life changing adventure and passion enough to scorch the pages they are written on. It is all here if you only dare to pick it up and read.
My rating of "Wanted By the Werewolf Prince - Space Shifter Chronicles Book 1" is 4.5 out of 5 stars.
So I want to start by saying I absolutely loved the plot and premise of this story. It really was unique and a lot of fun. I even really liked the main character and her brusque personality. It gets three stars because it was truly a phenomenal story. Also, there were very few spelling errors, though a number of grammatical ones.
Wanted By The Werewolf Prince is a story about a human space pilot (Skye) and the adventures she has on the way to love with a prince of the werewolf peoples of a certain planet. She helps to rescue him and his sister from a weretiger run planet to start the book off, then their adventures go from there.
Skye is a fun character as she is rather spunky, foul mouthed, and a dedicated pilot (she lives to fly, without a doubt). She also has a conscience, which has gotten her in trouble in the past, and continues to through the book. Ral is entertaining because it’s just fun to watch him flounder when she doesn’t do what he says like everyone else. Their tale is full of action, adventure, romance, profanity, steam, and some political intrigue.
My issues with the book are mainly that its in first person perspective, and ONLY from Skye’s perspective at that. Though I enjoyed watching Ral, I never got a feel for his character or personality and I do believe a little time in his head would have made the book considerably better as well as easier to read. There were several instances where I went back and reread a page only to realize that I didn’t miss anything, but in the way of first person retellings, there was simply a jarring shift. The only other, though small, issue I had was that the author threw out statements that assumed you understood something that was never mentioned or referenced. Sometimes these were eventually explained, sometimes not. That’s a bit frustrating when it happens.
Overall a very fun read. Despite a few issues that hindered the book from being great, it was still enjoyable. I will be continuing to read the series and hopefully I will get to see the author grow.
The story starts with a brave, fierce, loyal, bad-ass captain of an inter-stellar ship Skye rescuing Ral a hot, dominating were-wolf and a Royal prince at that. I would have loved to read how the rescuing was actually done, but the book starts with what happens after rescuing..Fantasy wise, I appreciate the effort the author has put into this book. There were a lot of piloting-the-spaceship action which gave Skye's character a lot of bad-ass imagery, and less hand-to-hand combat, which would have given an extra edge to Ral's character. We did get a glimpse of the combat, but I would have loved it if we had some action from Ral and even Skye, because she is no peasant girl :).. Maybe I am just too blood-thirsty !!
That being said, I enjoyed reading this book, specially a lot of Indian connections like Chandrayaan and Ketu..The prince submitting to Skye, but still having control scenes were amazing.. I don't know if Ral's father accepted the relation, a little epilogue related to Ral-Skye may have satisfied my curiosity..because it can't be that easy.. can it ?? And what about Ral's half brothers ?? So many possibilities... I also saw a lot of scope for series extension.. I am looking forward to reading Seria's story.. The Seria's Epilogue was so interesting.. I also hope we have a story for and Anduin.. he was sooo mysterious..
Lastly, my sincere wishes to the Author, this would not have been an easy book to write.. the fantasy aspects were bang-on.. I would have given the book 3.5 starts, but solely for the fantasy I will give 4 stars..

Wanted by the Werewolf Prince is a very well written paranormal space romance by Kara Lockharte. I don't know what I expected when I read the excerpt, but gosh was I surprised. I thought that maybe werewolves and space may be a tad silly but so what, give it a chance and I have to admit, I absolutely LOVED IT !!!!! Let's face it, this book is so different from anything I have read, there is just no comparison. No book I have come across so far has mixed shifters and the open space like this. The plot is so unique and captivated me from the very start. I had no chance in putting this book down and pretty much read it from start to finish in one sitting. It had some steamy parts to it, but this does tend to happen in shifter books.
Skye is one of the most adorable characters out there, yet a very strong heroine. She does what she believes is right, and when she realizes that what she thought may have not been actually right, she is not afraid to change and fix it. Her moral compass is spot on and makes her an amazing character. Ral, well he is your typical, strong, male shifter hero, but he does have his softer side that he hides well, for the most part. These two play well of each other and I really enjoyed reading about them. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
If you like different, some romance, don't mind the steamy scenes and are a fan of the paranormal, well search no more, this book has it all. It is a blast to read!
I have received this book from the author for an honest review. (LoP, Lovers of Paranormal)
First thing I notice and which I really like is how the we have a extremely sassy heroine and an arrogant hero, so be prepared for some fun reading full of egos clashing, which is something that make this story great. There is a strong female lead (human and on the plus side), and a hot leading male (A hero with eyes that can turn golden oh wow) with what’s not to like. The chemistry between our heroes is great right from the beginning. Another favorite of mine is that this book keep breaking the stereotypes that we placed and help us see things from a different perspective (can’t wait for the next book specially since it the hero’s sister story). And, please let us not forget the cute and emotional worthy moments this book offer. There were some twist and turns in the plot that keep surprising me and that would not let me put the book down. Having said all that this is a book that I will definitely recommend to a friend.

Skye is a soldier who flies dangerous missions, and she is returning princess Seria and her brother Prince Ral back to their alpha's home planet. Skye can't stand Ral, he is constantly challenging her role as Captain of the starship. They land on a tiger owned planet and find orphan tiger shifters have been left to die. They were experiments and of no importance. Ral forces her to lighten their ship by removing the protective panels so they can take on the extra weight. They have to stop at a floating station to attempt to replace their ship. The Prince of the Tiger shifters, who is betrothed to Seria, takes Seria, the orphans, and her co-pilot Red and promises them protection for life. Ral sets up a new ship and makes it appear he is kidnapping Skye to fly his ship. In truth, she has been convinced to find one of her merc friends and go back to the planet she saved Seria and Ral from. Ral had to leave behind three people he considers family. She is falling in love with Ral and he with her, but what would a prince want with a human soldier?

I didn’t know if I wanted to give this a 3 or 4 star. The book was good so I went 4. But... Well the book was a pretty good book. Definitely a different concept and I enjoyed that. It was pretty well written except for a couple minor issues. My dislike like of the book was the end. I did not like the end. I felt as if there is really no end for Ral and Skye. The epilogue was a waste of time for me that I didn’t even read. It was about the next book and Ral’s sister, not Ral and Skye which is what I wanted. Are they the main characters in her epilogue? It almost ruins the whole thing for me. Are they going to get another book that I DON’T have to download? Because I feel so unresolved about the end of this book, I honestly don’t know if I am going to read the next. I wanted to know what happens with Ral and Skye because I loved reading about them. Good book, just really disappointed with the end.
for audio - Wanted by the Werewolf brings you a listen that you won’t want to stop with two of the best audio things – shifters and space opera! That’s right. Skye is the best pilot the coalition has and she’ll save his high and mightiness Prince Ral even if he’s just using her for her skill set. As a military leader, she has connections and knows when to use them. She was just the right amount of fire to stand up to the enemy and to a Prince. This was a pure fun listen. Valentina Ortiz made the bickering between Skye “Captain” and Ral “Your Highness” an absolute delight to listen to. The story did get to the end where it was like, come on, you just wanted to shake this Captain and have her see sense already. This is the first in the series. So there are threads to keep your interest in wanting to know what happens to the others in the story.
Wanted By The Werewolf Prince is the first book in the Space Shifters Chronicles series. This is a standalone without a cliffhanger, though the story started here continues in future books. There is violence and hot steamy sex so 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all info here. The author did a good job of explaining what is going on and describing the characters and the settings of the story. The storyline is average but has enough twists and turns to make it worth reading.
I received a copy of this book from the author and chose to leave a review for other readers.
A sci-fi romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I love the whole concept of the two shifter races being created using human dna and then altered by another alien race. But one the creators had perished the shifters separated and have been at war. That is only a very vague explanation. It really gets in-depth and interesting as the story goes. Add in a human pilot who happens to be one of the best and an animalistic attraction to a certain handsome shifter prince and you have a great and adventurous story. I can’t wait to read the next book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
Captain Skye Daring of the United Coalition Forces is about to get herself court marshaled if she goes along with what her new passenger wants. He needs a space pilot and she is the best. Prince Ral of the House of Nightclaw is a werewolf, ( even if he never shifted in this story) He is determined to rescue his men and will go to any lengths to persuade the pilot to take him. There is much more behind the request than our heroine can ever expect. This is a very exciting sci-fi / paranormal romance. Lots of action and some smoking hot sex scenes. It's part of a series but easily read on it's own. I will definitely read any others when I can.
The intrigue... The politics... The workings of the politics in this story is insane! The author did one heck of a job working it all out and differing it between the shifters. The chemistry between Ral and Skye is literally out of this world She's a pilot for the Coalition and he is a Werewolf Prince Skye knows he's using her, knows they can never be, knows he'll break her, shatter her when they're done but she can't control herself when she's anywhere near him! Will Ral betray her? Will be throw her away when their mission is done? One of my new favorite books Must Read
Hot, Hot, Hot. Wanted By The Werewolf Prince is a great action adventure paranormal sizzling romance. It is also a lighthearted story that is addictive and hard to put down. The protagonist, Skye was the centrist of the story. Warning, there is very explicit language and sexual scenes throughout the entirety of the book. However, the power and sexual tension between the primary and secondary characters truly make Wanted By The Werewolf Prince is a page turner that fully engages the reader. –Tex. Overall, Wanted By The Werewolf Prince is a really good read that I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I really fell in love with this book and because of it I bought complete series. Action packed romance. I read the novella " The Boy Who Came Back a Wolf" and it was just enough of a teaser to hook me on the series. It is the beginning of a galactic war between Werewolves and Tiger shifters. Another hook. You are so concerned with what is happening to the characters you don't see the under current of political intrigue going on until the very end. Really, Really loved this book. Start of a new high energy romantic series.
I can honestly say I have never read a story like this 1. There is like more then 1 earth and it's about a space girl who happens to be human with a awesome suit, that seems pretty bad ass. She saves a werewolf prince and his sister. Werewolves and tiger shifter dnt get along so she and the prince are trying to prevent a war. It was a interesting story. I really like paranormal stories about shifters so I really was surprised when they were outer space shifters lol. It was an ok read but I will not be reading the next book
Adult XXX Alpha Alien Male🐺🍆🌋 Romance and Space🚀 Adventure. Love this book! The woman character, Skye💃💋🔪🔫, is a 💪strong minded and independent military ship🚀 captain who rescues the Werewolf Prince, Ral🐺🍆🌋, and his injured sister from 🐅Tiger Shifters. Lots of adventure awaits you! Highly Recommend!
These Alpha Aliens are wolf shifters that shift in times of war, battle, and anger. This is NOT a novel about a pack of wolf shifters on 🌎earth. I don't enjoy that genre and don't read them.
I could not put it down!! This book was all action, adventure and romance. Ral and Skye make a formidable team in and out of bed. Ral, the werewolf Prince is seductive, secretive but bold and.honourable, p!having himself in danger to protect his friends. Skye is brave, caring and honourable too. She breaks the rules for the safety of some children. Yet she is vulnerable and becomes a pawn in a game of war where she may not survive. A fabulous read. I will be reading more by this author!!
I really enjoyed this. The fighter captain gave this shifter romance a whole new twist. It's different which really works for me. Skye is great, she can use her skills as a fighter pilot to get out of some sticky situations, she's able to do some repair work, knows ship schematics, and is snarky. Ral is a growly intelligent alpha who loves how fighter ships work, knows a little about engines, and knows how to work all his guns! This is a really fun read. It starts at the word go and doesn't let up until the very end.
I was very impressed with this sci-fi/shifter romance. I don’t read science fiction on a regular basis but I enjoyed the type of action within this book. The detailed references to the alien spacecraft would be of great interest to science fiction lovers. As Prince Ral and Skye get into and out of difficult situations, their feelings for each other seem to jump right off the pages. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book
What an exciting read. It is suspenseful, intriguing, hot, funny, and so much more. These two are so much an alpha male and hard headed female. She rescues him and his sister. He has something he wants to do and she has orders. I just love books that are paranormal but have somewhat of a different spin on them. This is very well written and I highly recommend it.I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
This is the first book I have read by the author and I was impressed. The characters are well written with multiple levels as well as humor. Most impressive was the plot. This is a detailed world of wars and political intrigue. My only complaint would be the love scenes. After the first two (which were great) the author skips them for rest of the book! They are eluted with a "and then we did" at the end of a chapter.
