Holly has been kept 'safe', untouched, and segregated within a sex slave training center for 2 years. But when she has to jump from a burning building into the arms of the mysterious and handsome master of the house, it's a catalyst for big change. Holly, no longer happy to be blissfully ignorant, starts to play with sexual fire. How badly is she about to get burnt?

Him:
I saved her from a fate many would believe was worse than death. But, I’m no hero. Far from it.
I’m saving her for myself, which might be an even worse fate.

Her:
He's dark. He’s dangerous. He’s the most attractive man I have ever laid eyes on. Everything about him says villain but I can't help but think that maybe there's a hero deep inside.
He's kept me apart from the others for a long time. No one is allowed to touch me. Few are allowed to even set eyes on me.
I arrived here just before my sixteenth birthday. But soon, I won’t be a little girl any more.
How much longer will I be safe? And is safety all that matters?

This is a dark romance. If you like your romance dark, proceed. If you don't, or if you're not sure --- approach with caution.
This story is a standalone that is a Dominator series spin-off. Holly and Alessandro's story.
You do not need to have read the Dominator books to enjoy this story.

(Possible trigger. Dark romance. Sex, Violence, Coarse language. Human Trafficking.)

Dedication:
This story is for the readers who like to spend time in the dark.
With the anti-heroes.
The damaged ones who don’t think they can be redeemed.

So I really enjoyed Saved by D.D. Prince, in fact, I stayed up all night finishing this as I was that invested in where this was going.
Now This is a tale I've been waiting for, for quite a while.
We have had teasing glimpses from previous books set in this world, just to whet our appetites, but this was the main course,so to speak.
A complete downslide into the dark and dangerous world of Alessandro Romero and the murky depths of his depraved lifestyle.

So briefly "saved" recaps the story of Holly's arrival at Alessandro's compound and her subsequent imprisonment at his hands.
It shows how she becomes the latest obsession to the very damaged dark man who resides here.
At first, maybe just being a beacon of light in the dark to him, and then later an actual visual reminder of just how stained his hands really are.
But so soon, she becomes so much more, a decedent temptation that he can just no longer resist.
Tick Tock Holly that clock is ticking down to that all-important birthday.
 photo kitty_zpsyvp2yrgw.png

To me, she is the one untainted thing that exists in my world. My world is filthy, black, evil and I’m a big part of the reason for that. But Holly? She’s clean, pure; she’s light. I’m night; she’s day. And it’s only a matter of time before I lose my loose hold on control and turn her to nothing but charred remnants of what she was

While nosing around, I have noticed a few reviews that have some issues with Hollys personality and attitude and while I appreciate there take I'm going to approach this from the opposite camp and try to articulate why I felt that mindset was what was needed from Holly to achieve a fully functioning relationship with what was the really fucked up Alessandro Romero.

So First, we have Holly's age, She's still so young and then her background also works against her, so just where was she going to go if she escaped, Holly's choices were extremely limited in nature, she has no idea where her sister is and her mothers a waste of breath total dead-beat.
So she has just accepted her situation in some ways like a cosseted child.
It's not so bad and could be worse is her mindset.
From listening to her inner musings it's quite apparent to me that Holly has never been the confrontational type letting others like her sister just arrange things around her.
And she complied here, just as she’s been doing all her life.
Holly is essentially at heart a follower and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Second Alessandro was so fucked up in his interactions with Holly that even the tiniest little thing acted as a trigger to him, Imagine if Holly was more an in your face screaming harpy and think where that could have gone.
I really don't think it would have been pretty at all, and I certainly wouldnt want to put it to the test for real.
And yes initially I do believe Holly was probably suffering from a touch of Stockholm.
but She kind of burrowed under Alessandro's skin catching him unaware with her brand of sweetness and acceptance which is ultimately what he needed someone so pure that they could attempt to wash clean the blackest of his sins.
I also think this softly softly was the sneaky backdoor stealth approach needed.

And Alessandro's sins are very black indeed, not surprising considering his background.
I actually think out of all of DD Prince's boys in this world, Alessandro's soul holds the darkest stains of them all.
He was not a good man then, and he is not a good man now, treating poor Holly like dirt and then at other times giving her a glimpse into someone so different.
In my opinion, it's because he doesn't want to accept this weakness he feels for her so he self-projects, Blaming poor Holly for his own limitations.

So it's safe to say Alessandro himself is a complete and utter bastard
his behaviour itself is in no way excusable at all, but considering what he has done in his past very understandable to me.
He has done some really evil shit that he now has to learn to live with, especially now with his distant past catching up with his present.
But bearing in mind the sadistic crime family he comes from I would be much more surprised if he was lily white and all super caring, totally unrealistic indeed.
I will say this, that I thought Holly was a complete and utter saint to deal with Alessandro's brand of crazy and fucked up behaviour towards herself without screaming for her bad-ass brother in laws to come rescue her.
This shows that she is actually stronger than she appears.
Able to deal in the real world.

Maybe her actions could be seen slightly as those of a doormat, I suppose its really all in your interpretation.
Mine was that she was just an unloved vulnerable young girl who wanted to save the world and also believe the best in people, so Yes there probably was a big dash of Stockholm mixed in with her love, but do I really care?
Nah, I loved this fucked up story anyway.

I loved the angst of the unexpected this tale brought it came complete with a tortured anti-hero who just wants redemption in any form he can get and most especially I adored catching up with all the Ferraro's too, that really was the cherry on the top.
This was a definite hit for me and I would highly recommend if you like your fiction dark.
So just Before I go a trigger warning this book does contain Dub-Con and Non-Con just a heads up so you are aware.

So I love dark reads. I have yet to encounter a book that is too dark for my tastes... I've read some pretty f'ed up stuff that makes me question my morals, but I still love 'em.

Now this story was just not for me. I struggled to finish and was very close to DNF'ing. I start and stopped so many times before I finally sucked it up and endured through to the end.

Alessandro was the definition of an anti-hero, he was such a total asshole the whole entire book. I kid you not he did not have a single moment of kindness in this whole story, he was a horrible man who just liked to stick his d*ck up her ass without warning and make her suffer.

"You're beautiful. My beautiful Holly. Mine. Only mine. But you're most beautiful when I make you cry."

Now seeing as this is a dark romance this behavior is normal... however what isn't normal is Holly's reaction. She was the definition of a TSTL doormat heroine. She accepted everything Alessandro did without question, and she never fought back. She was so weak and annoying it made me physically cringe.

Alessandro: *Treats Holly like crap*
Holly: He does it out of love
Alessandro: *Keep's secrets from Holly*
Holly: He loves me so much, I just know it
Alessandro: *Physically abuses her*
Holly: Wow he makes me feel so good.

I just could not with this book! Holly's reactions were so unnatural and weird it was hard to read. Anyways... on to the next one!

I have extremely mixed feelings about this one. I didn't think the hero was redeemed and that's a big thing for me. I can read the darkest stuff if the hero somehow redeems himself in the end.
Also I'm a hypocrite and I can accept the hero raping the h in a dark romance (sue me) but to know that he does that on a regular basis? BIG NO.
At some point it's revealed that he was breaking in the new girls in their human trafficking ring and he was EXTREMELY BRUTAL with them. He even came face to face with one of the victims and she was terrified. The heroine finds this and what does she do? She stays with the dude.
I can take an anti-hero, I love an anti-hero. But what I can't take is a piece of shit and that's exactly what this zero was.
The romance department was also sorely lacking because he only came back to fuck her and then he'd leave.
IT WAS AWFUL.

I couldn't get over how she never even attempted to escape the whole time. Apparently it was more important to sexually inflame him and love him then think that being held a captive was anything to seriously even think about!

Oh my gooooooodnesss!!! This book deserves a full gif review in order to express just how much I loved Alessandro. He was beyond alpha, I am still kind of processing what I read..but holy shit was he one of the best antiheroes I have ever read. DD Prince delivered an exceptionally well written story with a plot that keeps you engaged, primary and secondary characters who make you swooon, holy shit hotness, and finishes it all with dark romance you can't help but love.

So this book..

description

I adore DD Prince. She gives me the perfect blend of romance and plot I need to love the antihero and root for him all the while a heroine with a backbone and bravery that you cannot help but be in awe!! I read it in one sitting and absolutely have a book hangover.

description

So where to start because there is definitely lots to cover.

Let’s start with Alessandro and Holly! Our anti hero is the epitome of ruthless and unapologetic.I was livid, annoyed, angry, enamored and down right obsessed with his alphahole behavior. Yes. DD Prince most definitely gave one of hell of a H.

When he is determined, he is ruthless..

“You just changed the game, little flower.”

“Your training begins, mi pequeña flor.” ...

description

Swwwwwwoon worthy alphahole

description

“You’re mine, Holly, and you’ve got a big responsibility taking care of this.” I grind my hips against hers and I’m getting hard again. “Sometimes I might want slow and sweet. Sometimes I might wanna make your eyes water and make you wonder if you’re gonna get choked to death on my cock.” ...

description

it is rare that I feel for a heroine and her courage and Holly definitely had my respect. She didn’t back down. I loved her tenacity and the way she hoped and gave herself so openly Alessandro despite his reluctance and taunts. She is the Hero of this story as the author clearly states and after reading it I absolutely feel it.

description

Despite everything and her circumstances she remains so strong and falls so hard for Alessandro.

He’s angry. So very angry.
And beautiful. God, he’s beautiful.
“I’m fucking warning you!” he clips. ...

description

From secondary characters, plot, writing style, and everything else this book was definitely a hit for me. I need more DD Prince!

ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

SAVED, a spin-off of the The Dominator series, is finally here and I can definitely say that I was not disappointed with how it all ended up to be. It was simply everything I could have asked for and so much more! DD Prince brought us another beautifully written story and managed to capture the essence of the very emotions and flow of how Tommy and Tia's story got me hooked from the beginning..

Dark romance with is certainly my kind of thing but this particular author just has the ability to make me read anything that she would write. It was an amazing story with lots of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end and it was so worth the wait in the end. The chemistry of Holly and Alessandro was totally explosive and I simply could not just get enough of them! They made laugh and cry and feel.. This story will probably be one of my favorites for a long time to come..

Another WINNER for me! I loved everything about this story. It was exciting, dark, gritty, engaging and entertaining. Each and every character I enjoyed. As we learned in Unbound, Holly is Alessandros'. Repeat. Holly is Alessandros'. Alessandro is NOT a good man. He acquired Holly at an early age and decided he was going to keep her for later use. Holly has had stars in her eyes for Alessandro from the very beginning.

Alessandro was probably one of the most hardest anti-heros I have read. It felt wrong of me to like his character, but I did. I could totally relate to Holly's feelings. Alessandro was a bad man. He did lots of bad things to people. Again, it felt wrong for me to be on Team Alessandro, but strong writing from DD Prince had me with him throughout this awesome story! Holly showed such strength and was ride or die hard for Alessandro. It's not too often when you come across a story where the h realizes what she has in the anti-hero and does not try to change him. Holly accepted Alessandro...all of him...the good, the bad and the ugly. They have become another favorite book couple.

The big surprise for me in this story was I was not expecting this at all and was pleasantly surprised. It was a different and welcome twist to the book.

Upon reflection, I have to give the author credit for some super writing. She managed to create 3 anti-heros and 3 female characters who were all different. Tia, Angel and Holly were all passive/submissive, but different. Tommy, Dare and Alessandro were all anti-heros, dominant, bossy, but different and distinctive. This is not easy to do. No secret, Dare was my least favorite of the bad boys, but Tommy and Alessandro...my kind of unapologetic-anti-hero.

Bravo!!

I don't know how to rate this at all.

I was going to give it 2 to 3 stars for pissing me off but changed my mind because the author reeked havoc on my emotions, made me think, and ball my eyes out. Prince's writing is always stellar, it's just there is too much that bothered me about the two main characters I couldn't get past. If you like dark, like I do I recommend reading this. Don't read the negative reviews and judge for yourself.

Alessandro. Alessandro. Lex. Everything about this dude from his names to his damaged alpha persona is uber SEXY!

DD Prince is a mega artist. Yes a MEGA ARTIST! Why? (Beware: Run on sentences ahead) Prince penned quite a few intense scenes where Alessandro's behavior is beyond wrong but yet makes the reader act like a middle age horny woman reading scandalous material in Regency England! So now you've gasped like you just won the Powerball and now you have to take your eyes off your page to make sure no one is looking at you like you belong in the nearest mental facility! This is exactly how Alessandro will affect you! He will dominate you. He will own your heart, mind, every emotion you possess. You know deep down dude is bad, but you can't help but love him! So why read the novel if the hero is bad? Because bad never felt so good!!! The "feels" will slay you! Who doesn't want a sexy damaged alpha male to slay??!!!

The Ferraro boys and their brood make several appearances and as usual they are doing what they do best! Making "shit" happen!

Five dark and amazing stars!!!!

I loved reading D.D. Prince's "Saved"... the story was unputdownable!!!!!

Alessandro and Holly's story was not easy but what an exciting and memorable page-turner! It was good getting reacquainted with The Ferranos, Zack, and the rest of the secondary characters as they were able to help Alessandro bring down his demented father!

Well holy titfire, DD Prince did it again. Not only did she do it but she did it BIG. HUGE. Hands down her best work to date. That is a huge compliment considering that I love everything she writes. I like to think of myself as her biggest fan. Just not in the Kathy Bates sort of way.

Okay, now that's out of the way it is time to get down to the nitty gritty of this story. I have to think on how to do this without giving away spoilers. From the first page I was RIVETED. I read straight through. I took the book with me to the bathroom, while I made a cup of tea. and even forgot to eat because I was ;engrossed in this book.

Holly, Angel's sister and Dare's sister-in law from Truth or Dare (Dominator II book) is one of my favorite characters that DD has written. While she is naive and young she is strong and manages to juxtapose feeling fear and being fearless at the same time. She is the true definition of light and magic. Alessandro sweet lord this man. There were a few times that I wondered if he could be redeemable. One moment, I was ready to wash my hands of him but then he would do something to redeem himself in my eyes. Like a moth to the flame he was. And Holly was his weakness. All strong men have them. Tommy's, from Dominator I, was Tia. and Dare's was Angel. She was the light to his dark. She balanced him. She saw that there was a person under the mask that he was forced to wear. He was a strong Alpha male-- Like VERY Alpha. Somehow though Holly knew how to hold on no matter how rough it was. AND trust me it is ROUGH. Yet, with her unwavering promise to love him his armor started to wear down.

All of the characters from the previous three stories are involved in this book. It far exceeded my expectations. I felt the writing style in this one was her best work yet (not that she needed to change anything before) and because of that the fluidity of the story was spot on. I loved that there were always two points of view explaining from both sides to know where they were coming from. This especially was nice when combined with the back story and mindset of both Holly and Alessandro. They gave much needed insight to the story especially Alessandro's. My heart hurt for him as you discovered what made him the way that he is. My heart hurt for him as he battled with the atrocious things he had done; especially when he had to look those things in the eye. All the questions I wondered about from the previous books that were left up in the air were answered and then some in this book. DD did a great job tying everything together.

Yet, somehow Holly and Alessandro persevere. The road to get to the end was anything but smooth. I will not sugarcoat this and say that this books is flowers and rainbows. It is Dark. Some scenes darker than others (and again I seriously need to talk to my therapist about why I LOVE it so much). If you have read the books previously in the series then you will love this book. Alessandro has both Tommy and Dare beat in regards to the hottest man which iMO was pretty hard to do since both of those men were sex on a stick. He even tied Tristan from the Nectar series which is HUGE. (IF you haven't read that do that NEXT!)

It has been my pleasure to receive an advanced readers copy of this book for a fair and honest opinion. DD mentioned she was nervous about this book. She has no reason to be as it is exceptional and I am not just saying that as her number 1 fan. Read this book. Love this book. REVIEW this book. Get people talking about the amazing DD Prince because her work deserves all the accolades.

Wow, what to say? Saved is D.D Prince's best work to date. After reading this masterpiece, I'm truly convinced she is an artist of words. Alessandro is not a hero. He is an anti-hero and sometimes an outright villian. The characters are so well written, there were times I could absolutely feel and picture the wrath of one of Alessandro's expressions. As if he was pointing at me through the book, as if his merciless advance on Holly had magically sprung to life. At one point I was reminded of the movie the Godfather, a darkened office room with a tense debate, angry eyes and heartbreak at it's center. The heroine, Holly, was a Saint. Matter of fact, if this was real life, she could easily win the Nobel Peace Prize. She was that good. She frustrated me at times, but I couldn't help but admire her courage and beauty. Many times the author created scenes that were
written with such depth, I felt like I was in the same room with the characters, breathing the same air, with my heart in my throat. Well done! Bravo!

To you, who love an ANTI HERO , this the book.

Holly is a sassy mouth, naive woman who believe everything is bed of roses but also have one BIG F*CKING LADY BLUEBALLS for
Alessandro... *sigh*

PARDON MY LANGUAGE

Alessandro is a MOTHERF*CKER ALPHA HOT BASTARD.

He gags, spanks, tease, his behavior is like a BI POLAR. Super super hot and then super polar vortex cold.

So there you have, sexual tension is high and explosive. Throw in some salt and pepper of friends, family and foe all in the mix..

KABOOM!!!! TOO HOT TO HANDLE.

Fuck. I'm fucked. She's fucked. She's fucked because I'm fucked and I am not giving her up.

There, my friends, is basically the essence of this disfunctional relationship between a captive Holly Noelle Mooney, then 16 year old that has been kidnapped and brought to training as a sex slave to a compound of a notorious Alessandro "Lex" Romero. But something strange clicks inside that darkness and Alessandro, actually takes upon himself to keep Holly away from the horrors of the training until she's 18. Until he takes her himself.
I didn't save you for you, Holly. I'm saving you. For me.

but even after that dubious deed, Holly still sees him differently, questioning herself about the reasons why she has been spared from the gruesome crimes that other girls taken, had gone through. And she has been...well, saved.
He's dark and dangerous. Everything about the fact that he runs this place says villain, but I can't help but think that maybe there's a hero somewhere deep inside.

Alessandro shatteres every single beat of that girlie hero fantasy Holly has about him, with every extremely rough, sometiems degrading and somewhwere between pleasure and pain in their sexual experiences and she still holds on to the hope...
My world is filthy, black, evil - and I'm a big part of the reason for that. But Holly? She's clean, pure; she's light. I'm night; she's day. And it's only a matter of time before I lose my loose control and turn her to nothing but charred remnants of what she was.

and inspite of it all, she still doesn't wanna let go of that spark of hope that there could be some good inside this monster...she's naively hopeful, that it's almost painfully to watch it all unravel, and she pushes that naivety in light towards his darkness and he fights back, brutally, mercilessly, ruthlessly....
That'll be your life. Tears. Fear. Hate. Struggling for breath. You'll come to hate me so much that you'll forget you ever had hope for me.

...until he cracks...finally and uterlly cracks...and changes the odds...changes his way, his life, his all...for her.

Oh, boy...
I love a good dark book. But here, I can't say I loved it. I liked it but I liked it partially. Other intertwined segments were putting me off...so most of the time I had a "jo-jo" effect with likes/dislikes...

There's no doubt that Alessandro Romero is a true villain and at certain points I would have never given him a second glance and here, he's given more that several second chances...

*sighs and shakes her head*

So that part of Holly's characters was naively annoying and somewhat not credible, cause that amount of pure love while someone constantly tries to break you, simply can't be believable... for a spirit to survive such a torment...ah, I agree that it will be anguished within with the ending of life BUT still, I have a hard time believing that after all that shit, i would still look the guy who tears me apart physically and emotionally (despite all the sweet, warm fantasy and gooey eyed vision of a man I would like him to be, or think that he could be) with "love" in my eyes.

Hmmmm...yeah well, I just found her character "too perfect", "too pure" as oppose to his "complete villain", "monstery" attire...

And sure, good wins in the end, so well, that's good, i guess *shrugs*

All in all, it was good, good dark and still I honestly think it could have been all presented in a smaller amount of pages, to begin with.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

Wow! After reading ‘The Dominator’ series I thought I knew what to expect from this book. I thought I knew how the story would go but DD Prince didn’t write ‘my’ story she wrote Holly’s and Alessandro’s story and that was a story that I didn’t knew at all. It was a great story, a dark story and an emotional story. If you read this story be prepared for everything and even then you will read things that you didn’t saw coming. I know this because it happened to me.
I would really recommend that you read ‘The Dominator’ series first before reading this book. You could read this book without reading the other books but I think that you then will miss the little details that I found important in the story. I’m 100% sure that fans from ‘The Dominator’ series will love this book too. But be prepared, Alessandro is not like Tommy and Dare! He’s darker and more twisted then them combined!

Holly didn’t had a happy childhood but she had her big sister to protect her from her alcoholic mother but then her sister disappeared and then Holly got kidnapped when she was not even 16 years old. She was sold as a sex slave but she was ‘lucky’, she was saved and protected. She was kept alone and guarded, she was lonely but safe but that all changed one fateful night and from that moment there was a connection between her and the man that saved her but he’s also the same man who’s keeping her captive. Alessandro is a very dangerous man, a man feared by many and they are totally right to be afraid of him. Still, Holly believes that there is still something good in him and no matter what Alessandro says or does, Holly believes that with all her heart.

I don’t want to tell too much of this story. I think that ‘Saved’ is a story that you have to read and feel for yourself. I can tell you that although most of the story is told from Holly’s POV, you also get Alessandro’s POV from time to time and I think that was a very, very good thing. Because Alessandro is a very complex man and as a reader you really need to get to know him to understand him and his actions better.

When DD Prince finished writing this story, she said that not Alessandro but Holly is the heroine of this story and after reading it I totally understand and agree with the writer. Holly is indeed the strong one in this story, the light in the dark, the glue that keeps everything whole. Because loving someone that doesn’t want your love, who thinks that they don’t deserve it and when the people around you tell you the same thing then you have to be a strong (or maybe a naïve) person to do just that! Something that Holly does with all her young heart and soul.

This isn’t an easy story and I can totally understand that this story will not be for everyone. There are some hard scenes and Alessandro is a very hard man to love but I, personally, really loved ‘Saved’ and I’m looking forward to DD Prince her next book.

A dark romance that lives up to its billing.
I've read a lot of books that were marketed as "dark" romances, but were really more angsty than anything else. This one's not. This is dark. Alessandro is pretty much a monster, and although the author does a great job of showing what made him that way, it is somewhat hard to sympathise with him. The story makes Alessandro come to terms with his own monstrosity in really clever ways, and while these confrontations are far from comfortable (either for the character or for the reader), the Alessandro at the end is a very different person.
Most of this change comes from the proverbial love of a good woman: Holly. Holly starts off as a princess in a tower, idealising her dark knight abductor, and her naivete is annoying, but I was glad I stuck with it because there's a big pay off. Holly's virtue is unwavering devotion, despite the worst that Alessandro throws at her (and the worst is pretty dark, edging into seriously dub-con). As the author says in her notes at the end, she was drawn into this story by the idea of a character who truly loves unconditionally. I thought that was really compelling and was very glad I stuck with the story despite my initial annoyance with Holly.
Characters from The Dominator series figure large into this story, but it does stand alone and can be read without reading The Dominator series first. The author does a great job of weaving in enough backstory from The Dominator series that the reader isn't lost without rehashing the plots of those books.
A great, dark read. Highly recommended.

“But, little flower, you’re so beautiful when you cry.”

Alessandro is the definition of an anti-hero, and Holly, bless her heart, was not giving up on him! I think I spent the first half of this book just cringing for her, the things she was doing to try and get his attention I was like ohhhh no girl this isn't gonna go the way you want it 🙈

I loved their story so much, it was everything and more! There were times I wanted to slap Alessandro so hard and be like "just look what you have here in front of you! Stop being a moron!" And then other times I just wanted to wrap him up and look after him.

And I felt the same about Holly, I wanted to shake her and get her to give him a tease of his own medicine and leave him, but she was too strong for that, she could see past the masks he tried showing her, and then other times, so many times, I just wanted to hug her and tell her everything would be okay

This story really puts your emotions through the blender, you're not sure which way is up or down! I loved every minute of it!

Anal rape is NOT romantic! Stockholm Syndrome is a very serious topic as is the sex slave industry. This book is infuriating on so many levels.

How can a woman tolerate being sexually abused by a man who has chosen her to be his special abuse victim? He not only raped her, but other girls as well. He is evil. How can she love him? Is she so grateful that she wasn’t thrown into the general population of sex slaves who are raped at will by all the men? I guess her submissive victim mentality is too complicated for me to understand. I expected her to at least put up a struggle once or voice an objection, but no. Her devotion to him and acceptance of his brutality is a mystery I never want to solve. This is not a dark romance. It’s just dark. She might have been infatuated with him, but he sure didn’t love her. He doesn’t know what love is.

I really enjoyed this overall! Some of the book was a little too dark for me, although I’m not really sure why I feel that way because I’m a sucker for a good dark romance story. I guess some of the scenes just left me with a bad feeling. However, I understand why the author wrote the book the way that she did. Other than that, Saved was a nice companion to The Dominator series. Alessandro and Holly’s story wasn’t my favorite out of all of the books (Truth or Dare is still my #1), but I liked getting to read about their unconventional love story. The character backstory for both Alessandro and Holly was written exceptionally well. I’ve noticed that D.D. Is great about giving characters, well, character. I’ve never felt like her characters were one dimensional. They’ve always been interesting and intriguing. Hopefully D.D. will write more spin-off Dominator novels. I’d loooooove to read Zack and Tessa’s story.

I'm almost speechless, don't know what to say. My mind is blown! Once I started reading this, I was hooked, I read straight thru!
Alessandro...wow! I think I kind of hated him for a good portion of the book. I mean, he was sexy, and I wanted to like him, but as soon as I started liking him, he would go and do something really cruel and heartless. But, when I didn't hate him...I loved him! Definitely tall, dark & sexy! Felt like he spent most of the book trying to convince Holly of how horrible and irredeemable he was, and bless her heart, she just refused to believe him!
This really was a beautiful story of redemption, and being loved unquestionably, no matter what. If you haven't read D.D. Prince, you really should!

Talk about major angst. This book will have you on the edge of your seat. Wondering what will happen next. You'll fall in love with these characters. But, you'll also hate some of them. Trust me this book is worth the read.

This is Alessandro’s story and his relationship with Holly. You know if you read the Dominator series that this man seems cruel & heartless but in this book, you learn how broken he really is. Holly is determined to bring light to his dark world. This is a roller-coaster ride until the end. ❤️❤️

I'm not gonna lie...I hated it. This was a hard read for me to finish which is crazy because I love all of the books by D.D. Prince. It's hard to read/finish a book with such an clueless lead. Not Lex, but Holly. She wasn't heroine. She was just the lead. The two are not synonymous. I thought she was ignorant and childish. That made the entire book feel like forcing nasty medicine down your throat...hard to swallow. The words said she was strong but the story never materialized that version. Tia and Ang and Tessa and Yulia, they were strong. I felt their strength in their stories as well as their own persistence. You saw it through their actions and I didn't feel anything with Holly except impatience.
Holly was just a sheltered little girl that wanted to stay sheltered. That's the picture that was created. Yes she was persistent in loving him but making her character so oblivious and whiny worked against the story. Ang was broken and pushed through but Holly was only isolated so I don't see her as strong. Again persistence and strong are not synonymous. I was happy to finish it to be done with their story because I started hoping Holly's character would just die. That's how hard it was for me to read this book with such an idiotic female lead.
It feels like a literary set back for women everywhere that books are still published with simple-minded female leads. It's truly a disappointment as well as a disservice to a woman's intelligence. A woman can deal with dark situations and still be smart, strong, aware, and driven. That's real life and something that enhances the possibilities of female leads in literature. Art represents life so how long will women be portrayed as weak and stupid in literature. How long will that image be propagated?
A clueless woman isn't entertaining in real life let alone literature...she's just sad.

Who Saved Whom?

DD Prince says in her introduction that although this story is about the 'bad boy', the actual hero is Holly. And she is.
Kidnapped and sold on by sex traffickers, Holly, at fifteen, is grateful to be moved from the 'dungeon' to a room of her own. She makes the best of her restricted lifestyle, and remains positive, falling for her captor who she hardly ever sees.
Alessandro is a criminal, and hates what he is. Holly's optimism and cheerfulness and innocence ensnares him, but he believes he will destroy her, and considers speeding up her ruination as it would be kinder in the end.
Holly is a masterclass in devotion and loyalty, and she is amazingly resilient. Alessandro is tender occasionally, but his redeeming features are only visible through her eyes.
Wonderful storytelling.

If you're a ScarStar fan and like dark reads, too, check out Saved. Best read after the 3 Dominator books (bit.ly/dominatorboxset) but can also be read as a standalone.
