Whenever I'm in need of a heartwarming romance, I know that I will find what I'm looking for in a Laura Greenwood book. Although this novella is quite short, I've read it within fifteen minutes, Greenwood did manage to make me smile. She managed to describe the characters, what they are and mean to each other, what they already shared and how they grew apart. And even though I didn't know them that well, I was rooting for them to come together because the want and need from both of them to finally take that next step was so prominent. A little scene where they would have seen each other's shifter's form for the first time would have made it perfect, but one can't have everything.
What a cute clean short story. I thought it was funny and cute. And it was a second chance at love and a mate from childhood friends and neighbors that meet up again when Daisy returns home to babysit the family farm. Really laughed when I realized what shifters Brad and Daisy turned into. I received a free copy and choose to review it because it was a fun read in Greenwood's shifter world.

This was a nice short story about a woman who is house-sitting for her parents when a childhood friend turns up to visit with her. Daisy hadn't seen Brad for over ten years. They had been friends as children but had grown apart as they got older. She had thought about him in recent years but never was quite drunk enough to give him a call. She had never told him that she was a ladybird shifter because he was a human.
Brad couldn't believe his luck when he found out that the girl of his dreams was back in town. He had always felt that Daisy was a shifter and was excited that he would finally get his chance to tell her that he was also one, and hope that she didn't laugh at his hare form. He wondered what kind of shifter she was and hoped she would be comfortable enough to tell him.
I will not say more since this is a short story. Enjoy.

A sweet, short read set in Greenwood's Paranormal Council world. Friends who drift apart with time reconnect. This is Daisy and Brad's story. Daisy pulls away from their friendship, as he's human and she's - well...she's a shifter. Now, a decade has passed since she's left for college and a big city job and she's back on the family farm housesitting to allow for her parents to go on a much deserved vaca - when who should come a knockin?!? her long ago friend and crush. Brad has known for awhile that Daisy is his mate and he's pretty sure she's a shifter - now that's she's back in town he's determined to make her his. Well written, sweet with a bit of heat. Good storyline and flow - while a short read this doesn't come across rushed. Well done!

A great paranormal short story about Daisy, who left home ten years ago to work for a bank in the city but when her parents go on vacation for a week and need her to watch the farm, Daisy gladly agrees. It'll give her plenty of time to relax, unwind, and be able to shift and fly which the city doesn't allow much time or space for. When she sees a man walking up the lane waving, she can't figure out who she would know and be recognized by after all these years, and then it comes to her the closer he gets. It's Brad, her childhood best friend. The one she was closer to than any other person in the world. The one that she felt like she had to move away from because she can only marry another shifter, not a human. But it seems Brad has secrets of his own and after all this time, he intends to share them. This was a short, sweet story that let me unwind and get lost in for a bit.
A sweet second chance romance Daisy and Brad were childhood best friends. Daisy started to pull away in their teen years. She is a shifter and Brad a human. She went off to college and got a job in the city. 10 years later she finds herself back on the family farm, looking after thing while her parents take a well deserved vacation. Brad has known since they were kids that Daisy was his mate. He was pretty sure she was a shifter too. Then she left. Now she is back and he is going to try to convince her they belong together. A sweet and a little steamy second change shifter romance, part of the Paranormal Council series. A short story. Doesn't feel rushed or incomplete. Can be found in the Stories From the Paranormal Council Universe Collection
This is an incredibly quick read but do not think that steals anything away from the quality of the story because nothing could be further from the truth. Brad and Daisy have known each other all their lives and whilst there is a depth of feeling between them that is heartwarming but the thing is Daisy is a Ladybird shifter and she knows she cannot be with anyone long-term unless they are her fated mated. Brad is head over heels for Daisy and has been for what seems like forever and he also knows what she is. Can he convince her that they are meant to be together though? I loved the characters and the story was sweet and kept me entertained.

This is a NON-SPOILER review. I really like the more rare shifter species when they appear in stories. Daisy is a ladybug, which I have not seen in previous books. Characters are well-written, the dialogue flows, and it definitely is a page turner. Although this is a short story, I could see the other types of shifters being in subsequent books. Will Daisy find her true match or will this be just a one night stand with a human? I will say that I prefer the term ladybird instead of ladybug now that I have read this short story. This was such a fun, cute, quick read for a sunny (or rainy) afternoon.

Daisy is back home to watch over her parents farm while they are away. A childhood friend, Brad is next door neighbor. Feelings start to skyrocket once they realize they are both shifters. The characters are hopeful and yet wary of their future as Daisy does not know that Brad is also a shifter. The storyline centers around their reconnection and the strong pull they have to each other. Loved the hometown locale and feelings of safety and peace that you just do not get in the big city. Great ending, but would have loved the read their reactions when they find out what kind of shifters they each are.

Brad and Daisy's love story is so sweet, light, and entertaining. In Catching His Ladybird (A Paranormal Council Short Story), we have a short love story that was years in the making. Brad and Daisy have known each other their entire lives. Both are shifters but never talked about it. What a discovery to make, and even more, to discover that they are mates. Catching His Ladybird is an entertaining, very quick read. The two characters are interesting and. It is nice that Daisy is smart as well as beautiful. There is so much to like about this short story.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Catching His Ladybird by Laura Greenwood. This is a sweet quick read (under 30 minutes) fix that is smile inducing. Childhood friends Daisy and Brad drifted apart as they grew up. As often happens, Brad grew up to take over his father's shop and Daisy left their small town for the city. But when Daisy comes home to take care of the farm while her parents vacation, the spark between them is re-ignited. This delicious romp is a nod to every person that grew up and wondered what would have been... This is a stand alone read.

Biggest complaint: this needs so much copy-editing. There are a lot of grammar, spelling, and sentence structure problems that almost made me stop reading after two pages. That said, it was a cute story, and I adore the idea of a ladybug shifter. However, I think it was even too short for a short story. It was too shallow, which could have also been an issue with the writing. The only thing was the romance, which was very one-dimensional for me. It would have felt fuller if there was more than just the rekindling of an old romance.
Daisy is taking care of the family farm while the parents' are taking a week for themselves. She has just stepped outside so she can shift when she sees someone walking up the drive. It is Brad, the neighbor she crushed on in school. Brad wants to ask Daisy on a date at the Italian restaurant in town. Daisy accepts. What Daisy does not know is that Brad is a shifter also. This story may be WAY too short but it has plenty of romance and steam plus it ends in a HEA. Highly recommended.

Awe! That was pretty stinking cute. Childhood best friends who grow up to be so much more. Daisy and Brad are positively adorable together and the only thing I could possibly wish for out of this story is that it could have been longer. I was not ready to let go of these characters when it was over. I’m also kind of loving the variety of shifting species that are available in this world. It’s both vast and varied. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout as part of the box set.
A short quick read that I enjoyed reading this fun story about a woman Daisy who does not tell her best friend Brad what kind of shifter she is, before she goes away to school and decides to get a job out of their hometown. This is the first book that I have read that the shifter. is a Ladybird. This fun book is one I will read again. I really enjoyed reading about Daisy, a ladybird/ladybug shifter, and Brad, a rabbit shifter.😊 This story is really cute and quick enough of a read so that anything I could write would be a spoiler. So I will just say that it's well written and developed and will make you smile and sigh at the end. 💕💗💕

This is a Paranormal Council love story for Daisy and Brad. This is a mating between a ladybird and a hare. Yes I know right. But Brad the hare has always known Daisy was his mate while she did not and he knew her secret too just not what kind and she did not know he was a shifter at all. I laughed at these two they are just so cute together.

This is a fun and cute quick read by the author. If you have not read any of her books, this is a good way to get a preview of her work. Or if you have, this is just a nice quick read for a rainy day or for when you just do not have much free time. The characters have very interesting and unique shifter abilities, and the whole story made you alternate between smiling and laughing, just a good story to brighten your day.
I really enjoyed this cute short story. It was about Daisy, a shifter, returning home to watch her parents farm. She runs into her childhood crush Brad, but knows she can't be with him because he's human. This story was so cute and enjoyable. It made me laugh and giggle and had that small touch of romance that we look forward to with Laura's stories. Definitely recommend this book!

Brad and Daisy grew up as best friends, but started to have separate lives since high school, especially as Daisy moved into a different town. Brad knew, that Daisy was his mate, as both of them were shifters, but Daisy believes Brad is a regular human and surpresses her feelings for him. In this short story they finally come together. A fun short, well-written and entertaining. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a lovely short romance story about Daisy who is a ladybird shifter and her best friend Brad.
Daisy keeps Brad at arms length as she knows she is mated to a shifter somewhere and does not want to hurt Brad or get hurt herself. But sometimes we just don't see what is in front of us
A lovely short novella ideal for coffee break time, I really enjoyed this lovely romance
Finding your true love is never easy. How about you find her and she still hasn't found you? They knew each other since they were kids. He always knew what she is yet to find out. This is his second chance but her first. Now all he has to do is convince her he is what she needs.
Cute, short and clean. A wonderful read about second chance romance and mates.
This is another of the Paranormal Council spin offs and boy let me tell you, I was so ecstatic to see that unusual shifters were used in this book. In this short story we get to read about Daisy and Brad. This is a wonderful read about a second chance romance. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Catching His Ladybird is a sweet second chance at love story set in the Paranormal Council Universe. Daisy is a ladybird (ladybug) shifter and Brad is human and they have great chemistry together, but are they true mates? This is a great story and my only complaint is that I wish it had been longer.
