This book takes you back to the school and college days, filled with emotions and memories. However I personally loved reading this book for three other main reasons:
1. The storytelling style : Its easy to adopt a particular style of storytelling, but it takes a lot of skill to use it well, and here I feel the author has done it with class! A very cosy, comfortable read, with the parallel lives of the characters being woven gradually and the wiff of alternate realities giving a different perspective for the reader to think about. 2. The philosophical approach : I love it when even a small phrase makes you stop for a moment, to think it over and makes you smile at the depth of the meaning it conveyed. From questions about life's purpose, politics to love and ethics, the author has touched upon many areas with great thought and this to me has been the best part. 3. The emotions : Most of big decisions for all of the characters have been well explained through their thoughts, be it the moments before falling in love or betrayal, the ethical dilemma or that of an addicted mind.
Short and sweet, yet I feel there were many areas, where the story could have slowed down and spent some extra words on the lives and memories. I have a feeling the author will chose one day to continue this story line as the characters age. An easy, quick read with a lot of potential to make you smile, question and look back at memories, I would strongly recommend this.
Highly recommended especially for those who have recently graduated, or to anyone for that matter.
Considering it's his first novel (Published in Kindle), this guy has exceeded expectations, obviously. This novel will be the time-capsule you need to takes you back to your school and college days you cherish. Takes on the belief systems prevailing in our society. Yes, people do have slowly started or already are giving a gigantic middle finger to the system.
To that invisible thing that ties to people. To those lovely relationships. And to those not so lovely relationships.
