Evangeline

I lied, okay?

My family and friends think that I'm traipsing across Europe dominating one runway after the next and amassing a small fortune. But the truth is I'm in New York City, on stage at the auction, about to sell off my body to the highest bidder just to pay off the outrageous debt that I owe to my modeling agency. I’m only 22 but apparently, I’m already past my prime.

I’m scared and I’m humiliated. Still, I know that one month with a wealthy stranger will solve all my problems.

But the last person I expect to be placing bids on my (non-existent) virginity is Raphael Silver, my father's sexy and filthy rich best friend.

Raphael

I miss the good old days when closing a business deal meant cracking open a bottle of aged scotch with a rich old bastard in the VIP section of an upscale Manhattan strip club. But, this young, trust fund brat wants to take it up a notch.

That's how I ended up at this ultra-exclusive sex club, watching idiot billionaires bid at a virginity auction. This place is sleazy, even for me. I'm not the type of man who gets off on ‘paying for play’. Still, I'll go along with it just to get this new client.

But the last person I expect to see on that stage in a sparkly little outfit is Evangeline Brooks, my best friend’s way-too-young, way-too-tempting daughter. I can't help but notice that she's all grown up but I'll be damned if I let one of these scumbags get their hands on her.

I’ll do anything to protect her, even if it means buying her for myself.

Dirty Silver is book 7 in the Dirty Suburbs, a series of steamy romantic comedies set in small-town Illinois. Each story is a standalone.

This is my first read in the Dirty Suburbs series and I can see myself reading more of them.

I loved the connection between Raph and Eva. Even though their age is years apart. Raph does all he can to not be attracted to the young Eva but what happens when it can't be any longer? Will he send the troublesome Eva back home? Or keep her for himself?

Total page turner if you ask me. And dare I say HOT?

If you do not like younger women, older men then this is not a story for you. But if you are not against the age gap then this is a must read!!

In some ways this wasn't as light-hearted as most of the Dirty Suburbs books. It dealt with a few 'difficult' topics and whilst this wasn't a dark or heavy read it wasn't as much of a rom-com either. BUT IT IS STILL WONDERFUL, AMAZING AND SUPER HOT!!!!!

Possible spoiler ahead but you know from the blurb Raph bids on Eva at a 'sex auction'.

I loved Eva, she was so strong and determined on the outside, but this was just a brittle shell covering an inside so full of self-doubt and lack of worth. She had me alternately offering a mental high five at her determination to get what she wanted (mainly Raph) and wanting to hug and reassure her.

They see me as wild, confident, outgoing, free-spirited. That's the facade I've shown the world for all of my life. The truth is, I've always felt so out of control...Once you get used to being a disappointment in your parents' eyes, you stop measuring each of your decisions in terms of how they will react.

Raph filled those gaps in Eva and made her feel like she could be a success. He is such a caring, wonderful and very moral man and even when he was making stupid decisions it was always with the best of intentions.

As much as I love her parents, I'm pissed at them for not making sure that she knows just how wonderful she is.

I totally bought into Raph and Eva's story, both in their deep emotional connection and their insanely hot chemistry. The book had me gripped, with it's incredible writing, well paced story, interesting and rounded characters and passion. I loved how Raph's meeting with Daniel explained an occurrence in another Suburbs book. In fact this book felt like it was tying more of the previous books and their characters together.

I loved this latest trip to the Dirty Suburbs! Eva is the victim of her own poor choices, and finds herself in a situation where the only solution appears to be to auction herself off at an exclusive nightclub. Raphael is there only to conduct business, but when he sees that the first "item" up for bid is his best friend's daughter, all his plans go out the window and all he can focus on is taking care of Eva. Raph is a good and honorable man, and he's really torn by the taboo nature of his feelings for Eva. Eva knows she needs protection from the consequences of her mistakes, but she wants so much more than that from Raph.

This is a brilliantly-written love story that focuses almost entirely on the two principle characters, delving into the sordid illegal activities and ominous threat to Eva only so far as necessary. It was a nice treat to see quite a few familiar "faces" from the previous books, which is always a wonderful bonus with an interconnected series of standalones like these. There are two final showdowns, each addressing the major obstacles in their lives, and they are deftly conveyed with humor and gut-wrenching honesty, and just enough suspense to make it a well-earned victory.

And we finally know why Daniel couldn't make his date with his wife. Dirty Forever can't get here soon enough! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

It is great how you can read this series either one after the other or as stand alone as it means its ok you miss a book. Book 7 finds Evangeline having got her self in the worst situation and no way out, just when she thinks it can't get worse her Dads super hot friend saves the day and then it is a roller coaster of emotions for both of them. I liked how Evangeline would be childish at times as well as very smart as you would expect this of someone of her age and experience of life. You can't help but feel sorry for Raphael as he really is the tormented friend of Evangeline's Dad and even though she isn't as bothered about them being together he rightly so is. This was very much a love hate read as I wanted them to get together and have their HEA after but also felt she may be to young and kept flipping between the 2 thoughts which in a way made it a better read!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Ah this book was incredibly riveting, I wondered what would happen so many times and feared for Eva!
Her story is one of a kind of survival, if you will, and when her fathers best friend Raphael, comes to help her, needless to say not all goes to plan! I was at the end of my seat in this sexy story about two people, connected, but with an age difference that didn't concern me one bit!
I really enjoyed reading it!! There were some incredibly steamy moments that may leave you hot, and I also think Raphael is a very swoonworthy character! He really touched my heart!!
Fantastic story with a beautiful ending!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

Another winner from Ms. Miller! I just love her Dirty Suburbs series. The way the book is written and from dual POVs, you just feel a part of the story. It just flows beautifully. Once you start, you won't want to put the book down. Each one is better than the last and they are all fantastic!!

I highly recommend this book (really the entire series) to anyone!!!!!

Hot, Steamy Dirty Silver Hotness!

Poor Silver , wants to treat Eangeline like what she is his best friends baby girl, but she is more than that. Silver realizes his best friend has not nurtured Eva and she has a lot of insecurities and he wants to help with those but what he does not realize she is changing him also. Funny and emotional, this story ended to soon

Unexpected love

Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. This an older gentleman and a younger woman story. He had a failed marriage and closed himself off from love. She feels like a failure and makes a bad decision. Can they save each other or will their world come crashing down around them.

Liked but didn’t like

Okay this one was a struggle. I really like this series of books but this one I just couldn’t really say I liked. Ralph was a dream if a character but Eva came over very immaturely and was hard to like. Enjoy the older guy and younger woman but not this one. And for a dad to call her a whore and get away with it. Not for me.

Started with 0 stars, ended with 4

I liked the heroin at first, then couldn't stand her until around 35-40% through. call me kooky, but I found that first part annoying. All sex and ego, no relationship development. Very different at first from the others in the series. The rest I enjoyed, personalities and a relationship developed.

I read this on a whim after seeing it recommended in a Facebook book group. It was good! Like most novellas or short novels, it lacked the depth in character and plot development one typically desires but for me, it was perfect. I was in the mood for a fast paced shorter story. Dad’s best friend/age gap. For what it was, it was good!

Another amazing book in the Dirty Suburbs series!! I can't get enough of Cassie-Ann, she is a fantastic writer! The connection between Raph and Eva is so intense. I'm mad that I read through it so quickly, time for a reread already. 4.5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. Eva and Ralph were good for each other. Eva was not the immature young woman you read about in other younger woman older man stories. She just wanted to be loved and they were really in love with each other.

An exciting book

This series of stories just keeps getting better and better. I have enjoyed every single book. Laughter, tears, intrigue and love in each and every one. Wish there were more than 5 stars for ratings :)

That Was Different

This was definitely a different take from the previous Dirty stories. As usual, there is an HEA with a small bit of angst in the story. On to the next in the series.

Raphael and Eva

Wasn't my favorite, I feel that Eva wasn't a mature 22. I couldn't imagine myself at that age thinking of a man in his 40s like that. Obviously its not my cup of tea.

I’m not quite a fan of age gap reads, so I didn’t finish the book. Although the writer is a good storyteller! And I will read more from this author!

Everyone thought she was a success, but her life was out of control. Getting more so when her dad's best friend buys her in an auction.
