King of the one-night stand, Coop Stenson knows his warped upbringing and chosen profession with the Sentinels, a private security team, has conditioned him to avoid romantic attachments. Yet when accident-prone Matthew Whitton literally falls into his life, one thing is abundantly Matt deserves more than a man-slut.
Matthew’s love is overpowering, and just as Coop is ready to take the plunge, having fought its inevitable pull for as long as he could, an old nemesis targets the partners of the Sentinels. So keeping Matt safe is about more than just another job or set of logistics. It’s about the rest of his life.

To all my readers: Thank you. There’s no escaping the truth – without all of you, there wouldn’t be me, the author. Your support and kind words have taken me from being a new author who was unsure and panicked to an author with over twenty books under her belt. Okay, I’m still unsure and panicked, but I’m a work in progress. (Takes a sip of wine.)
I love sharing my stories with you and hearing how my characters have touched you and how you’ve cheered them on, cried with them, and even wanted to knock some sense into a few. Your encouragement has inspired me to continue on my writing journey. All the late nights, missed events, and looming deadlines have been worth it, knowing these stories have entertained and stayed with you long after the book was finished. Michelle XO
Yay . This was better. I liked Coop and Matthew. Their lil picnics dates in front of the fireplace were adorable. In Jesse's book, they had that love-hate going on. I was looking forward to a little push/pull... I guess we already saw it bc there wasn't any of that here... they caved pretty fast 🤭 it's okay, tho I think this is one of my favorites. The drama was good. Hot spicy parts. Old bad guys showing up for revenge. Oh, and as always, hospital visits.
I can't wait for Shadows' book.
"Coop crawled back into bed beside the one man who loved him no matter what his hang-ups were, his beautiful Matthew."
Hot damn, I wished Matthew could have held out a little longer and made Coop work for it a bit. I loved how snarky he was in the last book, but I think we lost of that here.
Can't wait for Vincent and Shadow's books!! I feel like we've already gotten Travis and Bo's book, so I'm kind of hoping that one's not next.
It’s kind of funny, in a way, because it’s usually the ‘mates’ that are in trouble or have some issues that need the Sentinels. But this time it’s the Sentinel that has the issues and the bad past that haunts him daily. So a reverse in roles, in a manner of speaking, this time. Coop has no problem taking care of Matthew. Carrying him around and helping him. Which everyone else seems to find funny and neither can figure out why. All they know is both are developing feelings for each other and for Coop it almost makes him want to run. Coming from a home where love meant pain, Coop chose to stay away from love. But now he can’t. But he may not get his wish of love, if the past of the Sentinels doesn’t take them out first. Because these persons are trying hard. And Coop now has something more than ever to live for and will protect it at all costs. But will there be a price to pay for it? I get why Coop is the way he is. Growing up in the home life I did myself, I have a hard time with significant others. Even though I still tried. When that part of your life is all messed up, it sets the tone for the rest of your life. And you either find a way to overcome it or let it pull you down. For years, Coop let it pull him down. But Matthew had a way of burrowing under his skin. And Matthew is not without issues himself, thanks to an ex. So both are super scared and read and do everything kind of wrong. But they do the thing that is most important. They take the space they need for a bit to breathe and then they talk. They communicate and listen. They work it out the best they can. And that’s the best they can do. I love these two. I really do. They snark back and forth and generally are so sassy with each other. But you can tell underneath the bluster, they really care. It’s quite funny how they act with each other. I think this is one of my favorites. It just hit home for me and I love that even through the rough stuff they go through, they remember the most important things. Talk and listen. Be there for each other and never leave. It’s not an option if you work hard. Not saying that all are like that, don’t misunderstand me. But for the most part, it works. They broke the patterns of their pasts and moved on to a new future. And it was amazing. A rough ride but a good one.
Coop is not the kind of guy to let the grass grow under his feet. One night only. Love them and leave them. His childhood and current job, allows him to not have any relationships. Matthew was accident prone. Not the kind of guy who would normally be on Coop's radar. Yet, here he was. Falling for Matt was much easier than Coop expected. Is his heart willing to take the risk? Before he can have his HEA, Coop has to complete the biggest mission of his life- protect the one he loves from a rising enemy. Matthew is one patient man. Guiding a broken man the best way he knew how.

This book is another good book in this series revolving around the people who inhabit the town of Brighton Texas and the enemies they have. This book has a fun story about Coop and Matthew who have been staring at each other for a while and finally work their way towards a relationship. I won’t say too much because I don’t want to spoil anything but this book also clears up one of the backstories that has been running through the series.

Matthew came to Brighton to help his old friend and he didn't even expect that in this small town he would find a lot more than just Jesse. The truth is, however, that if it hadn't been for his broken leg, which combined with his innate lack of coordination prevents him from living a normal life, the man would have turned down the chance for happiness and left. But apparently fate favors him, because being grounded, Matthew has the opportunity to get to know Coop, who is babysitting him, a lot better. As Coop constantly sends Matthew many contradictory signals, figuring him out is quite a challenge.
"Coop" is the fifth novella that takes place in the charming and very lively town of Brighton, which we love with all our heart. As the title of this volume indicates, this time we follow the story of Coop, a great playboy, who doesn't even think to settle down. The problem is that apart from "witness testimonies", we don't really have any evidence of his pickups and sexual adventures. From several volumes his friends emphasize that Coop is a real king of one-night stands, he himself confirms it, but it is all based solely on "oral tradition". That's why in the novella I missed more tangible evidence that Coop really is a playboy, such as a description of several meetings with the guys with whom he later went to bed. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean the description of sex, just his sexual conquests to be able to fully appreciate the change in him.
As for Matthew, I think his creation is quite successful and complete. We know what type of person he is and we find evidence to support it in the novella. In his case the most interesting is that he is a walking misfortune, butterfingers. We don't usually see the characters like him in the literature, and I have to admit that his coordination problems make him really sweet. He is like a child, which explains his love failures, as well as allows us to look from completely different angle at Coop and their relationship. M. Tasia really managed to show more than one might expect with this one character, which I think is the great advantage of "Coop" and another proof of the author's talent. To be honest, I don't ever remember reading a novel in which one of the characters resembled Matthew, so he is definitely unique.
Taking into account the whole story presented in the fifth volume of "Boys of Brighton", we note that it focuses primarily on self-discovery and this is also what the events described in the novella lead to. The plot is interesting and thrilling, which is the undeniable advantage of "Coop", but it is the motif of discovering something new in oneself, such as strong emotions, which the characters did not expect to feel, that is the most important in this book, it's its essence. So, as you can easily guess, although this installment of the series focuses on both Coop and Matthew, I have the impression that for the former this story is the most important, as his growth in this novella is the biggest.
In conclusion, "Coop" may not be the best part of "Boys of Brighton", but it's undoubtedly good and worth reading. Until now, we haven't had the opportunity to get to know Coop very well, so now we have a chance to make up for it, while his relationship with Matthew really shows us these characters from a completely different angle. This novella is certainly worth reading.
______________________
Coop has been looking after Matthew since he broke his ankle. He moved in with Sam and his soldiers. Even though he is known as the King of the one-night-hookup, Coop is acting weird. He seems to be quite taken with Matthew but doesn't even seem to understand what is going on. The problem is that Coop's family ... his parents did nothing but fight and that has left him with a feeling that love hurts and it's not something that he even wants to try.
These two men are confused from the get-go! Matthew thinks that Coop is too busy with one night stands to be interested in him, Coop thinks that he isn't good enough for Matthew... can't imagine why someone like Matthew would be interested in him.
It's not until Coop leaves on a mission that he realizes he has real feelings for Matthew. This really changes things!
I do have to say... one of the things that I find odd in this series is the fact that men keep carrying their partners around. The soldiers often pick up Sam and carry him around, and Coop does the same thing with Matthew. I get that the author is establishing the "size" kink that is woven throughout the novel but it does get a little unrealistic.
I like Coop. He's one of my favorite characters in this series. And Matthew gives him a good run for his money in this novel. He remains sweet and patient with Coop in spite of all the issues he has.
It seems now there's a connection to a crime family!!
Coop is the fifth book in the Boys of Brighten Series by author M. Tasia. This is the first time I have read this series and I was not lost at all. I really love the closeness the characters have, and the interaction going on in this book. This book is told in parts, and is two POVs. I liked getting to know the characters and really feeling what they feel in this story. Matthew is accident prone. He is in crutches and so very over having them trip him up. He came to Brighten TX to help his friend Jesse and his family. Now he helps Jesse at the GLBTQ center in the security department. Matthew is a real computer geek. I liked his offbeat sense of humor. I also loved how helpful and caring he is. Coop he has the bruit strength in the security field. He has a reputation for sleeping with any guy who says maybe. So when he finds out Matthew is more than just a friend for him, well he kind of freaks out. I loved his protective nature. I also love how he cares about everyone with his entire heart. He is a friend you want to have. Over all I loved this book. Great characters, action, adventure, and of course lots of love. I would love to visit Brighten again, I will have to go back and see what I missed in this amazing series.
This is the story of Coop and Matthew. Coop is part of the Sentinels and is known as the playboy of the group and known for his one-night stands. Coop came from a dysfunctional family where he thought love was yelling at your spouse all the time. Matthew is a friend of Jesse’s and is also very good with compute systems and technology. His parents were killed years ago and he hasn’t been able to find someone he wants to settle down with. He is also a little clumsy! In the last story, Matthew was injured and Coop was “assigned” to take care of him (after all, Coop is the one who injured him!). The banter between the two was comical, but underneath it all, they both were falling for the other.
With drama knocking at their doors, the need to protect Matthew only grows and Matthew continues to fall for Coop. Both are hesitant to act, and both are very stubborn and not sure how to navigate a relationship. Lots of action, suspense, passion, loyalty, and coming to terms with your past and realizing what your future can be. Another great story and I am in love with these characters! On to the next book! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Tripping into love? Coop's parents were emotionally bankrupt! Not a good example to a child needing love and security. So, Coop has commitment issues and lives for the moment. It makes him an excellent bodyguard though. Matthew had come to town to protect Jesse from his family and stayed to help Jesse with his youth homes' security implementation. Matthew was aware of Coop's reputation, but he still crushed on him. Coop, understood Matthew was a forever man, not a one off. He, Coop, made it his mission to take care of clumsy, accident prone Matthew. Coop and the Sentinels have an opportunity to do their thing. Will Coop, "see" Matthew as maybe belonging with him? Will Coup grow into the man he is meant to be? Will Matthew 'see' Coop? Nicely done. Two more charming men. The Sentinels still going strong. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Coop is a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy. Matthew is a clumsy, trip over his own shadow, world class hacker. What do they have in common? Absolutely nothing. So how can they be having “those” kind of feelings so fast? Definitely an insta love kind of story.
The Sentinels were in fine form, doing what they do. I hope they all have excellent insurance because they (or their mates) spend an inordinate amount of time in the hospital.
I liked the book but even with the hot guys and lots of action it lacked something that the rest of the series (so far) has. This book didn’t seem to flow as well as other books. Same good characters and I’m looking forward to more of the other guys stories. Specially Shadow.

Just Can’t Get Enough! “Coop” is the fifth in the Boys of Brighton M/M romance novellas, and it is just as sweet, sexy, and entertaining as the earlier titles in the series. Security specialist Coop is gorgeous, protective, and the king of one-night stands until he is blindsided by an intense attraction to the brilliant yet accident-prone Matthew, a hacker and technology genius who happens to be the childhood best friend of Jesse from Book 4. This story is action-packed, heart-tugging, and so entertaining as they fight alongside the rest of the Sentinels and the Brighton community to rid the town of a dangerous enemy, and they battle just as hard for their chance at an HEA. Such a sweet story that I couldn’t put it down!
Coop does not do relationships. He is known for keeping things casual. Matthew does relationships so he is trying hard not to form an attachment to Coop as he knows Coop's reputation. Coop is a protector who works with the Sentinels. Matthew is a computer whiz who is accident prone. But the attraction between them is real. Their colleagues see it even when they do not. They think they won't work but love is not that logical. It takes a threat to Matthew's safety to help them both realize that they need to work through their insecurities and past their doubts. These two are funny, touching and sweet as they stop resisting and let love bring them together.

DNF 51% A okay story up to what I'd read but there was way too many "beautiful" words repeated from Coop that put me off and spoilt it. I wanted to finish it but just couldn't do it. Matthew wouldn't let no one dictate over his life even Mr Bossy aka Coop even with a stalker. But he'd often put himself down which Coop would pull him up (loved these parts). Coop has taken it upon himself to be Matthew's guard since he was accident prone and curently in crutches. Matthew was helping Jessie with security in a new LGBTQ youth centre for the of the town.
I was given a free arc copy from the author for review.
Another quick read. Another instalove story. This one was actually my least favorite so far. Unlike the others that can be read as a standalone, for this one you have to read Jesse first. Even though this book focuses on a different couple it is the conclusion of the cliffhanger plot in Jesse. Thankfully there is no cliffhanger in this one. Even though I found this couple and plot the least interesting I'm looking forward to reading Travis and Officer Bo Mason.
Another fantastic installment in the Boys of Brighton
The Boys of Brighton is an amazing series. Each book while focusing on its own couple adds to the ones that came before. If there was ever a perfect place to live it would be in Brighton. The people are amazing and watch out for one another. The grandmas are priceless. Start with Gabe and work your way through the series, you won't be disappointed!
I love this whole series and have from the beginning. The town, the sentinels, are all a fantastic family. Ive been waiting for Coop and Matthew's story and it was everything I was hoping for.The fall of the infamous playboy of the group had it all. A little angst, some drama/danger, love/romance, and heat. I cannot wait for the next book.
This was a decent story and the heat factor was good. The part that was really a detractor for me was the overuse of the endearment "beautiful". Every time Coop addressed Matthew, which was frequent, he used that word and it drove me nuts throughout the rest of the book.
Coop is the fifth book in the Boys of Brighton series by M Tasia. This is a contemporary m/m romance. Oh Coop and Matthew's story was fun - full of action, humor, suspense, drama and love. I really enjoyed the story and the action in it - exciting. I also loved the interactions between all the characters. This book, and whole series, is really keeping my attention and I am loving every page.
omg this series is just wonderful.. i love how real it is.. its not sugarcoated and an easy hea.. it was so sweet.. i love how clumsy and real matthew is.. he tries to hard.. and is adorable.. and he loves with everything he is.. coop was perfection but broken in many ways.. i love how everything comes together.. i cant wait to read the next one. love this series.
Coop is another hit from M Tasia! Coop and Matthew had that insta love that all her couples have. Coop seems confused by his feelings for Matthew. Full of action, adventure, and love. Once I started it, I could not put it down. I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Matthew had come to town to help Jesse with his family problems. Got hurt and Coop was helping him until he got better and were having feelings for each other. Matthew had helped the sentinels some on their missions behind the computer. Had the mafia come after them but that was taken care of and they were staying together! Great book!
I enjoyed Coop's story. There were a lot of factors playing into the plot, the characters, everything. I couldn't put it down. I loved the characters and how they brought the best and at times worse out of each other. I found it to be a very satisfying read.
I give this a five out of five stars.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Coop does only one night stands. He doesn't do relationships but than he meets Matthew. Matthew doesn't do one night stands. He want a relationship but the ones that he's had didn't work out and he thinks no one will want him. He's afraid that Coop will get sick of him like his old boyfriends. I enjoyed this book. this series gets better with each book.
Matthew and Coop are so good for each other. Their start was a bit rocky and their communication was off as well. But once they both got on the same page, so could see how right they were for each other.
A good quick uncomplicated, no great thought needed to read bk and series. Enjoyable and Entertaining. Insta Love, Insta Relationship, Insta Connection. Worth the read. Recommend. Series best read in order.
Great addition to the series! Coop finds true love in Mathew after causing him to fall out of a tree. The two men dance around each other for months before admitting their attraction. This book has more intrigue and action than the others but the romance is still as hot!
