Frankie Love writes filthy-sweet stories about bad boys and mountain men. As a thirty-something mom to six who is ridiculously in love with her own bearded hottie, she believes in love-at-first-sight and happily-ever-afters. She also believes in the power of a quickie.
❤️ Get ready to fall in love ... you deserve it! ❤️
Mountain Man Candy is book one in the Mountain Men of Linesworth series by Frankie Love.
Clive lives in Linesworth along with his two younger sisters, Maggie and Greta. Clive started a tourist Expeditions business along with his two best friends, Luke and Charlie. Luke fell in love and married his sister Greta. Sadly, he died in a tragic accident several years ago. Watching his sister suffer after losing her husband changed both he and Charlie. Charlie turned into the town player with a different woman every night. But Clive shut himself off. His business is dangerous. He would never fall in love and risk hurting someone the way his sister was hurt. That is, until Hazel moved to town.
Hazel is a confectioner. She has also suffered loss in her past but she has a different reaction to it. She wants to live life to the fullest. And that means achieving her dream of owning her own candy shop in Linesworth. The shop would have to wait for now but she is starting out with a candy cart she parks in town. It’s her very first day when Clive brings his niece and nephew to the cart for some candy. She is smitten at first glance.
The first time Clive saw her he was speechless. She’s the sweetest woman he’s ever met. But if he lets himself love her, he could do the same thing his partner did to his sister. He can’t risk it.
This is a short, sweet, sexy, instalove that was so cute. Clive fights his attraction but he’s no match for Hazel. It might take a good knock in the head to bring him to his senses but he eventually gets there. I look forward to the next book, Maggie and Charlie’s story, Mountain Man Cake.
3 Lollypop Candy Time Stars * * * Spoiler Free Oh, a sugar sexy rush is something that Frankie Love is giving with this quick book. There is a framework and even a life lesson:
Life is too precious, goes by too fast, to not grab your happiness with both hands.
That is a true concept and actually one we can all appreciate.
The rest of the tale is a very sweet insta-lust/love story. It has all of the necessary elements for these things... a virgin new in town and a local Mountain Man who has been turning down all of the women because he had no interest in their pushy ways.
He seems like a decent man, helping his sister and her kids after the husband died from an accident on the mountain. He saw what the loss of her husband did to her, saw the pain she was in and vowed never to do that to any woman... He would stay alone.
Then this a woman arrives. She makes candy and is selling from a cart. She has had a tragic family life and heartbreaking losses...the death of her mother and sister. She is strong, determined, and has pulled herself together to start a new chapter in her life. Moving to where this Mountain Man lives seems to be just right.
Well, the sister's children may have brought these two together with the need for candy, but fate had a major plan and hit them with the Love Stick the minute they met. Yup, both were a goner from the start.
If you like a very basic tale of Insta-Lust/Love with a heavy dose major sweetness, then this tale is for you.
A sickly sweet, insta-love novella that I read in under an hour. If you love a growly mountain man claiming his virgin woman, then this book is definitely for you!
It was a very quick read, but I needed something just like this. Plot -surprisingly- flowed, the writing was nice and easy, nothing too complicated. The dirty scenes are not super detailed, but you get what's going on 😁
This is super short and I wish it were longer! The story was kind of rushed, especially the romance because there wasn't time for Hazel and Clive to get to know each other and ease into anything. Full throttle romance! It did have cute parts and I want some wine gummies now!
Christ, I'm sick of reading these male leads who treat women like complete garbage. There was an obvious (and decent) attempt to make Clive the good guy in this story, but he treats Hazel like insignificant crap, and then she just takes him back. Give me a break. You know what the real happy ending would have been? Hazel loving herself enough to know she deserves better. This book would have actually been almost completely redeemed for me if there had been even the smallest bit of time where Clive actually had to grovel and understand how badly he treated Hazel. If Hazel had punished him AT ALL. But no... Clive takes her virginity, realizes he's too wise to let poor little Hazel make her own decisions about love, runs away, has an awakening, monetarily buys her forgiveness. HEA ensues. Done.
I'm sure next we'll get to read about man-whore Charlie who slept with anything without a Y chromosome. All while rubbing it in Maggie's face. And as far as the reader knows, Maggie is just all in love with Charlie still and pining over him. True romance right there.
Literally cannot express how much I despise this book and books like it. I'm so over this bullshit where the guy gets to be all wounded and misunderstood, meanwhile the woman can be wounded but she damn well better be understanding and if she can just go ahead and be a doormat-- even better!

I absolutely loved this sweet romance. I melted. This was a sweeter side of a Frankie Love romance. Clive and Hazel have faced trials and when their paths cross you can't help but love their love story. From secondary characters in the (Clive's sisters are amazing!) to the heartbreaking pain Hazel endured, I absolutely loved this couple. I hope the sisters get their own story too!
This book was really sweet (Lol) but it also had some sad parts too and I can't wait to read about Greta and Maggie. Clive and his two best friends, Charlie and Luke started Forest Expeditions. They guide locals and tourists on rafting trips and hikes in the woods in their small Bavarian town that's on the outskirts of Washington State Forest. Three years ago Luke (who was also married to Clive's sister, Greta) accidentally drowned to death and they've all had a hard time moving on. Clive avoids getting attached to women because he doesn't ever want them to hurt the way his sister does. Hazel makes her own delicious homemade candy and she one day hopes to open her own shop. She's just moved to the small town of Linesworth and she's been selling her candy from a cart she made on Main Street. Clive meets her when he brings his niece and nephew to her cart to buy them candy. He's hesitant to get involved with her but ultimately he gives in to what he knows is meant to be.
Mountain Man Candy was a fun book but ugh, I wish things went a little slower. Maybe it was the ending but I definitely felt like everything just kind of happened too quickly and then bam - the book was over. In it, you will meet Hazel and Clive. They were pretty cute and I really liked how he handled her certain situation and definitely took care of her.
Plus, they really did seem to like each other. Then random drama happened weirdly and I don't know - the book ended. It was cute though and now I'm intrigued to see if wine gummies are a thing or not. If they are, I need to buy some! If not, can someone please make them??
1.5 - 2 stars: Very insta-love involving a BBW heroine and her bit of man candy, it's fine. I wanted a little more time spent on the characters instead of relying on the "insta" to explain everything and the final obstacle before the HEA was just nonsensical. This was only ok.
I'll be honest, I totally picked up this book for the cover.
Cover aside, the story's not too bad. Clive is a super hot guy (duh!) living in a small town. He's afraid of commitment because his brother-in-law died, and he saw how it messed up his sister. Enter Hazel, a new girl in town that happens to speak to his penis... I mean his soul, totally his soul!
So they hook up, he gets scared and runs off into the woods, nearly dies, realizes that he wants to be with Hazel, and proposes. The End!
It's a quick, light read; nice for an afternoon lounging when you don't want something serious or too drama filled. A bit over the top, but all in good fun.
So sugary sweet!!! Never disappointed when reading one of Frankie's books!! Clive is a handsome rugged piece of man candy. Every woman wants him!! Clive though wants nothing to do with love. After witnessing the tragedy of his sister losing the love of her life Clive didn't want to put a woman through that kind of loss. Hazel is new to town. Working on her future after losing the ones she loves. She's super sweet just like the candy she makes. You could feel the connection between the couple right from the start. Their chemistry was intense. Is it enough though for Clive to give in and look forward to a future with the sweetness that is Hazel.
MOUNTAIN MAN CANDY is a sugary sweet insta-love novella about an elusive heartthrob and a candy-maker newbie to the mountain town where he lives. Because their pasts had done a number on them, he was trying to protect his heart , and she was trying to start a new life. But in the end, they both found love, especially after Clive realized that he cannot live without Hazel. This was a delightfully sexy quick read that made me smile!
Mountain Man Candy is the first installment in Frankie Love’s The Mountain Mn of Linesworth. In it, she chronicles the romantic journey of Hazel and Clive. She is a 23-year-old candy maker who moved from Seattle to escape the trauma from her life there. Hazel embraces a happy attitude and looks on the bright side. She is now all alone. Clive is a 27-year-old river rafting and forest excursion tour guide. He and his two childhood friends opened a business together. Clive is the opposite of Hazel. When they lost his best friend, Luke, who was married to his sister, Greta. Clive cut out all emotions for women. He did not want to have his spouse go through the torture and agony of losing a husband. Then Hazel comes into his life and their attraction is strong. What will Clive do? How will Hazel react? To find out, you must read this captivating short story romance.
In this contemporary romance, readers discover a basic romantic plot lie of girl meets boy and what follows with the ups and downs as they navigate their romantic journey together. The dialog moves this story along revealing the lead characters’ true character. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
received for honest review this is a very short insta love story. After the death of his friend and business partner, Clive has kept himself away from forming new attachments. He ignores any woman outside of his sisters. That is until Hazel comes to town. there is something about her that scares Clive. Instead of facing his fears, he runs. He ultimately realizes his errors and all ends well. Very fast paced story.
Frankie Love has done it again Mountain Man Candy is a great read. The storyline between Clive and Hazel was well written. A must read! I give this book 5 stars. I whole heartedly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Really good book. Super fast. Cute and extra insta love. Really enjoyed both characters. He was standoffish with reason but also sweet. And she was pretty shy but also strong. Liked the side characters as well. Overall really good with a nice ending.
I loved this book. It was a nice steamy read for a very cold day. It was short enough I devoured it in one sitting. It’s a great read if you want something to start and finish in one sitting.
Dos estrellas porque, aunque casi no tiene trama, es predecible y los personajes no actúan o hablan de acuerdo a su edad, es una lectura rápida, ligera y segura.
