"Yes, your duties take you away from us, and yes, I fear you will not return," Emmy said. "Yet you are here now. You walked through that door, and you are here beside me. No matter how far you wander, I will wait for you. I will always wait for you."
THROUGH THE VALLEY
Daniel will do anything to keep his family safe, even it means killing, stealing, or defying his Gods, his Kings, and all others. He battles his own demons as he faces the truth of how the desires of the man he once was clash with the reality of the man he has become. To secure a future for those he loves he must release the ghosts of the past - yet forgiving the father who abandoned him, the man who stole his wife, and himself for all the wrongs he has done is something he cannot do.
Through the Valley is the third volume in the Time Dance series based in the Time Walkers world.
E.B. Brown enjoys researching history and genealogy and uses her findings to cultivate new ideas for her writing. She lives New Jersey and is a proud graduate of Drexel University. Her debut novel, The Legend of the Bloodstone, was a Quarterfinalist in the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. An excerpt from another Time Walkers novel, A Tale of Oak and Mistletoe, was a finalist in the 2013 RWA/NYC We Need a Hero Contest. E.B. loves mudding in her Jeep Wrangler and likes to cause all kinds of havoc the rest of the time. She resides in New Jersey.
I received an ARC of Time Dance for a honest review. I've thought long and hard about how to write this review because I'm particularly fond of Brown's writing. The internal conflict that Daniel and Emmy struggle with is still present. Daniel is pulled in many directions (husband, father, liaison to the English and the Pamunkey Queen), but the most important duty of all is being a protector of a Blooded One. Emmy continues to struggle with her future and present 16th century self, but her struggles pales in comparison to her husband. Daniel's 'demons' are real, the 7 years apart changed him and even though time has passed it's still present in their marriage. The 7 years apart also changed history, how, still remains to be seen but the last chapter left me wanting more.
Through the Valley has all of the things I like to read about: Time Travel Romance, (a bit too much sex for my taste), Historical accuracy and a Brilliant writer who makes things up come to life. Excellent!
