I was born and raised in the greater metro-Atlanta area, where I live with my husband, dog, and cat.
I graduated from Mercer University in Macon, GA (class of 2008) with a dual BA in English and German, as well as a certificate in secondary English/Language Arts.
After teaching middle and high school for three years, I ran away screaming.
I now write character-driven, multi-genre novels (and work a dayjob). My specialty is thrillers, but I also write romance under the name Anna Lilian Wade.
My primary goal is to make your heart beat faster.
"May I have some nails?" "Nails, my love?" "The floorboards are loose." This seems like a normal conversation between a couple and that's exactly what I thought it was. But it was in actuality a conversation between a man and his hostage. Very twisted short read and engaging until the end.
This was a corker of a creepy tale that started out sublimely as a woman asking for nails and morphed into something altogether weirder. The writing was crisp and flowed smoothly and the characters and plot had me gasping to know more. The author could have easily earned another half - one point if only they hadn't ended the tale in a sort of cliffhanger. (which I hate) I do see that there a a couple of other short stories that make up the series so I'm hoping I'll find my answers there.
I loved this creepy short story from Jette Harris...I really hope that in time, she will expand this story and tell us more about her characters. This little snippet into this characters is such a tease, but will have me reading more of her creepy captivity shorts (when they release).
Lovely little short. So much said with so little. Brilliantly written so that with only a pages we get the idea of a lifelong pattern and malicious intent. You may not know how it started or how it's going to end, but you can't help but think that neither is going to be good! Perfect remedy for a quick craving of creepy!
This is a short, but not a story. No names, no background, no hints about what's going on, what's happened in the past, or what may happen next. Waste of time for me and not enough to make me look for more. Sorry, I must have missed something?
