The Dolphin Island books are a continuing saga that mainly encompasses the life and marriage of Demi and Kal. They have a marriage, and she has agreed to live a domestic discipline lifestyle, one that is common amongst those that live on Dolphin Island. The story brings about when one partner has secrets and goes behind the other’s back, and that comes to light. A bond of trust is broken, and for them to have peace and forgiveness, they will have to address it and heal.
Kal works for an organization, NASH, that causes him to travel on secret missions. When Demi questions things about his life, she will see the help of Gus to learn more about her husband, breaking a trust between them. As Kal must leave on a mission, her inquiries may have placed him and her in danger. It is for her protection that she will be placed at Chateau Dreambox, a school for young women, both single and married to learn more and embrace the domestic discipline lifestyle.
Jared Masters, the author of Inner Peace, heads up Chateau Dreambox and will be over Demi’s discipline while Kal is away on a mission. While in Demi’s mind she believes she wants to do right and submit, when it becomes a reality, she fights it. Kal has warned Jared of her inability to submit and cry. Deep rooted childhood memories and attitudes have prevented her from total submission.
The story will take Demi on a journey of self-discovery, dealing with childhood issues, understand what submission is, and eventually how to accept her role in her marriage.
“She hated it as much as she loved it; resisted it as much as she craved it.” “Knowledge is power, and power is peace in the household.”
A Demi spends her time at Chateau Dreambox, she refuses to accept Jared dominance and control over herself, and withdraws from the school, but must remain at the facility for her own protection. Until she truly learns what Inner Peace is about, and starts journaling, she remains stubborn and rebellious. Along with another student, they will sneak into a men’s only forum, but it will be a true eye opener of what the role of the dominant partner’s responsibilities entails.
The story has many spanking scenes, including that of her husband and of Jared as a disciplinarian. There are a few sex scenes too. This is an ongoing saga with more books in the series and would be best to be read in written order.
This is the 3rd book I have read in the series. By this time I feel like I am getting an instruction manual on DD, being the HoH, and the role of submission.
Kal has revealed his secret and he is off on a job. Demi is staying at Jared's. But, was it REALLY her decide like she thought it was? Seemed to me like there were some serious trust issues that needed to be resolved. Also, Demi seriously needed to learned to read some of these things before she jumped in the deep end.
One thing I can say about these books is they attempt to provide you with a certain thought process behind DD. I did also like that the books showed Demi struggling with submission. Not that she was against it, but that it was something that did not come naturally to her. I could completely understand her not being comfortable with Jared as her disciplinarian, without Kal's presence.
I am not going to go into the lifestyle at Jared's training facility. You should read it and make your on determination.
Anyway, this ended up with an HEA for Kal and Demi, but I thought it ended rather abruptly. I would give this 2.5 stars.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the book received via Booksprout.
I thoroughly enjoyed this engaging story in the Dolphin Island series. The author did a fantastic job of exploring the difficulties associated with submission. Although Demi wants to fully submit to Kal, she has a hard time and it doesn't get any easier for her in Jared's school. I liked the new characters that were introduced, each giving Demi a different perspective to think about. The school setting was perfect and I'd love to visit it again in a future book. I can't wait for the next book to continue on the journey with Kal and Demi.
Demi is happily married to Kal. She wants to submit to Kal's discipline desperately but she is too inhibited to do it without making a big fuss. So, while Kal is on a mission, Demi decides to enroll in Chateau Dreambox to learn how to be the wife Kal wants. It is a wonderfully written story about Demi's journey - to accept who she is and what she wants. I loved Demi's character, how she dealt with the DD lifestyle, and her self discovery.
Disciplining Demi is book three of the Dolphin Island Series. I recommend you read the books in order because it is an ongoing series. For me it was the first book I read of Miss Killian. When I started reading, I had the feeling of missing some pieces, especially when the author was writing about the background of Kal, but the story itself is written so good and captured my attention that I give it a full five star rating.
Disciplining Demi: the training by Ivy Killian I thought I'd do something a little different. I'm writing some of my thoughts as I'm reading. I just finished chapter 10 and can't help feeling that they want little Stepford wives that accept spankings at specific times. I'll get back to you later with my next thoughts.... Ok every time I came back to write my thoughts I had to erase them, as I hate spoilers. I've finished this one. I found it to be funny. And yes I still get a feeling of a twist on the Stepford wives. I've also erased several things I realised were too judgmental. As for a rating I was really waffling back and forth between a 4 and 5. Dang I really wish we could give 1/2 stars. This book was given to me for free at my request from the publisher or author and I provided this voluntary review.
A sexy, spanky, submissive journey I love series because I hate to see characters I'm invested in go. I also love books with a lot of discipline, as long as there is also a story to go along with it. And this book hit those marks. There was definitely a lot of spanking and discipline, but it went with the story- the story of Demi finding her way in her submission to her husband. She knows she loves her husband with all her heart, but can she submit the way she wants to? Great story. One of the best parts? A fourth book is coming our way!! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Not having read books 1 or 2 did not make any difference as this book, all by itself, beautifully and clearly showed all the inner workings of a domestic discipline lifestyle and all the work and effort that goes into one. The author, Ivy Killian, certainly has a delightful and fun way with words and for setting up her characters to learn all about life, love and of course, spankings. I am definitely going to see if books 1 and 2 are still available to read. This is a voluntary review of an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I'm finished with Disciplining Demi - The: This story is a continuation of Demi's story of falling in love, honeymooning and now facing the realities of life with a dominant, disciplined, exacting man who loves her totally. oh, yeah, he spanks! Demi is trying to learn how to be a good wife, really she is, but things, well, they don't work the way she had hoped, and so she goes to school to learn how and then it really gets interesting. Love the book. Love the new Characters. Now what about the rest of them? What is their story?
Demi has not been back long before her husband Kal leaves on an important mission. Kal learns that Demi has been asking into his background. She has to go to a training school and be under his boss Jared. He warns him that she can be a handful. Was Jared really ready for this woman? A must read with suspense and discipline. What will Demi do about her situation.
