From Amazon #1 Bestselling Author, David F. Berens
Troy Bodean is back and living large on the island of Key Biscayne, Florida and he’s made some new Gino - the LOLA dancing bartender from down at the Sonesta Resort, Mindy Colpiller - the rich twin daughter of Millionaire mogul Jack Colpiller, and his Aussie-wannabe boss, Don.

Life is good until Mindy’s twin sister disappears and won’t answer her phone. Daddy dearest, Jack, is convinced that she’s off on another gypsy road-trip, but Mindy’s not so sure. He hires a strange private investigator to find her, but Mindy thinks Troy can do a better job... so she asks him to help.

Gentleman that he is, Troy says yes. And that's when Mindy goes missing too. Can Troy save the day and find out what's happened to the Colpiller girls without running afoul of the cops, the private investigator, and everyone else looking for them?
Readers of Carl Hiaasen, Randy Wayne White, and Tim Dorsey will love the island feel and snappy fun of Blight House.

This installment in the series was a bit of a departure from the first two books which were a lot more about the lead character Troy. This one was full of a lot more dark humor, as well as laugh out loud situations taking place.
I really hope the series continues.

A great time killer. Keeps you coming back.

This book is so full of crap that you have to read it all to see how dumb it can get.

Blight House - Troy Bodean book #3

Troy is working, hustling beach equipment for the high class members of the beach club, when he gets mixed up in the action seeking to find Mindy's missing twin sister, Caroline. The tennis pro, Taz was the last one to see Caroline alive. Mixed in is a PI hired by the girls father, Jack Colpolier who is more concerned about everything but the girl's until Troy takes on the hunt. You'll enjoy figuring out where the title comes from. Thanks for a new series story.

When I read the first Troy Bodean adventure, I thought I'd found another great series... and I was wrong.
What started out strong, good storyline, bringing sleevebags down - in particular a so-called "faith healer," turned into disappointment. While Troy did solve the mystery and save the girl, the other side story went pee-yew! Bringing a false preacher "faith healer" who, like the majority of all these types of people are fakes, doing it only for fame and fortune they bilk from the pockets of sheep, down and destroying this one, the author chooses to bring their bias on this type of religion to the story. The man has a 'crisis of faith' when it looks like he's about to be punished for his crimes, but then 'god' leads him out to a place where his 'faith' actually heals a young woman who's in a coma. Gag me with a fork! I will NEVER pick up another book from this author ever again. If the author wants to plug their religion, fine, but mark the damn book as a religious one so people like me can avoid it like the plague!

Just like every book in this series it was fantastic! I usually fit my reading time between other things. This causes me to read maybe 1 book a month. I have now read books 1,2,&3 in this series in 3 weeks. That is how gripping the story lines are! The characters are very believable, and no kidding once you start reading you will be hard pressed to put it down. I going to get book 4 ASAP.

Frantic Decisions

This is definitely a great thriller as Troy gets involved in solving two kidnappings, an evangelist gets defrocked, a detective gets in acute danger and a politician makes stupid and grave mistakes. The author pulls all these stories together and takes you on a wild ride. A good read!!

Troy working at a rich members club meets the Colpiller Twins. When one is missing daddy just thinks she is off having fun, then both are missing. The dad hires a PI but he seems kinda sleazy to Troy. Mayhem, adventure add to the fun in this series. Given audio which was good narration for my voluntary review and my voluntary

Later back Troy, trying to stay away, and failing.

I liked the way the "problem" works into the story . Troy is back peddeling all the way through the story. Also, he gets caught up in other craziness. Good story. I am glad I read it.

Fast paced mystery series

Well written, fun characters, and a hero built with a bit Jack Reacher, a little Travis McGee, and something else that calls to the sense of adventure hidden in all of us. Can hardly wait for the next installment!

I think the one thing that would make it better

“I remember,” she said. “I remember the joy we felt when she came home and said she’d been healed. I never put it together that it was you.” Brant expected her to throw him out. Jackie said nothing. He stood up.

Too busy

I like the Troy Bodean character, but this book had so many moving parts it was hard to keep things straight. There were more grammar mistakes than from previous books I had read by this author. Things did come together in the end, but I prefer a little more simplicity.

Competent, readable mystery

The action moves along nicely, and the editing on these books is not noticeable (which is a very big plus to me). Nice sense of location as described by the author.

Troy Bodean seems to get neck deep in trouble no matter where he ends up, not to mention his employment prospects always seem to dissolve as his story progresses. I have to say I think this is my favorite Troy Bodean story so far, of course with five more to read, who knows what the future holds.

The horrendous writing of the accents detracts a lot from what is otherwise an entertaining story. And starting the book by revealing the killer seems backwards. Also the skunk thing was just weird. Still readable.

I liked this book. It held my interest. And I laughed out loud at the skunk's antics as well as those around it.

Blood Wave (A Troy Bodean Tropical Thriller Book 3) - a review by Rosemary Kenny

This all-action thriller, Book 3 in David Berens' Troy Bodean Tropical Thriller series, Blood Wave, is an absolutely riveting, edge-of-your-seat thriller that you just won't be able to put down before the dynamic ending - even if that means staying up all night to finish it in one sitting - guaranteed!Troy's minding his own business (well actually doing a boat repair/cleaning service as someone else's employ, while waiting for his beloved sea-plane to be repaired). He gets drawn into his PI mindset, as Melissa (aka Mindy) Colpiller, one of a rich businessman's twin daughters, hires him. Her twin sister Caroline has disappeared, making their father and herself ,frantic with worry as the hours pass with Caroline being uncontactable - and no sign of a ransom demand - which adds to the confusion and lack of anything for the local Florida police to go on,Father Jack Colpiller has hired a well-known PI Remington Hoyt Reginald to take on the case, but is he all he seems? The man seems more than a little sleazy and only taking on the job because he'll be handsomely rewarded for bring Caroline home. The more Troy finds out about the case, the more he comes to realise there's something sinister going on - and he may fall foul of the killer too, if he gets too close to the truth!
Don't miss Blood Wave by David Berens at any cost - it's so exciting and engaging it's like a massive wave of emotions that will sweep you away into a world of intrigue, danger and mystery that you're guaranteed to enjoy. Luckily there are more books available in the series - why not get them all and tell all your friends!

"Hunting For A Kidnapped Woman"

I read this as a Kindle e-book. I love the stories created by David Berens. This third book has Troy Bodean living on Key Biscayne, Florida and making new friends. One friend, Mindy Colpiller, whose twin sister has been missing. Troy takes on the private investigation. It just gets worse for Troy and his partner, Remington, when Mindy also disappears. Pepe, a great character, saves Remington who is down, threatened to e killed. A great exciting story I could not put down. Highly recommend.

I give his books a 5 in spite of errors and inconsistencies that are distracting, because his characters are well developed and the plots are interesting. His writing pulls me in from the beginning.
