When the fallout reaches beyond just the two clubs, the consequences bring death, devastation, and chaos for everyone.
The dynamics of both clubs change forever in the wake that follows. Fate isn’t done teaching Avery that life isn’t always better with the devil you know sometimes it’s with the devil you don’t.

TAKING AVERY: Is the first book within the (Lilith’s Army) series which is co-written by Ker Ducky & D.H. Sidebottom

These two have stepped out of the box again and have taken us on one crazy assed MC read, it was EVERYTHING I could’ve wanted when it comes to this genre, straight away you're pulled into MC life, the chaotic drama, shootouts, death, the kidnapping of a Princess from a rival MC gang, shit just gets even more crazier!!

It’s been a while since I’ve read an MC book, this genre is my go to guilty pleasure so I was super excited learning that these two were going to co-write one and I couldn’t wait to get my grabby little hands on a copy. This exceeded all my expectations, I’ve read ALOT of MC biker books (Thanks to Jax) and this set the pace perfectly in the beginning it draws you in and before you know it you’ve inhaled this goody. Highly recommend.

Now this is the MC book I’ve been looking for, it’s dark, gritty and positively unpleasant at times.

Avery is the Cutter’s MC Princess but contrary to popular belief she’s not spoiled or pampered. Her father the president wanted a boy and he’s never let Avery forget how much of a disappointment she is.
Avery wants noting to do with bikers or their life and even though her father has plans to marry her off to his VP she’s intend on living her own life.
She’s secretly dating a normal boy Dean but on a night out disaster strikes in the form of Breaker Brenner from Lilith’s Army MC.

There’s a truce in effect between the two MC’s but if it’s discovered that the other MC has touched their princess the Cutter’s will declare war.

This is a very good MC book and I can honestly say you will not be bored reading this.
On top of trying to avoid war and sort out the disaster caused by his brother Shane is dealing with a possible rat within his MC.

This was surprisingly good and it’s straight onto the next one for me.

This book is exactly what an MC story should be! It's dark, gritty, violent, and sexy!! There are two clubs...Lilith's Army, and the Cutter's...Avery, who is the heroine...she is considered "the princess" of the Cutter's club as her father is the president. Her dad is a hard man, and wants things for Avery that she doesn't want for herself. One night changes her life in a drastic way, and then all of a sudden she is expected to marry the President's son from the Lilith's Army. Believe me when I say that it is way more complex than that!!! So worth the read!! I'm dying for the next installment, and I pray that it doesn't take long to come out! I recommend this book to anyone who loves an MC book that is more on the gruesome, dark side of life!

Ker Dukey and D.H Sidebottom wrote another awesome story!!!

Have you read the Deception Series by these two authors? Yes? No? If you like your books dark, the kind of dark that takes you on a depraved journey and makes you question your sanity, then you need to read that series. At this point, you might be asking yourself "Why is she talking about that series?" Well, I'm talking about it because that was the series that made me fall in love with this writing-duo. They sure know their way around dark romances, so when I saw they were back together again with an MC Romance with a darkish side, I knew I had to read it.

Taking Avery started out with a punch, one that had me glued to my kindle. I felt like if I stop reading, everyone would die. Seriously, those first chapters were intense. Then something happened, and the story dragged out a little bit. But after a while, the story picked up and... well, my nails didn't survive the journey.

While I enjoyed the book, I was kinda let down. Let me explain, the story itself was a really good one. It had been some time since I'd read an MC Book that really hooked me in, and Taking Avery did that. The authors gave me dark and gritty, but it was some characters' actions what kept me from going crazy about the story.

"I will be their princess if that's what they want. they have just let the wolf into the hen house, and I'm hungry for revenge."

Yeah, sure...

That quote had my adrenaline pumping. I was all over Avery waiting for her to take her revenge. But that didn't happen. Or if it did happen, please someone point me to the right way because I didn't see it. Oh, and she was feisty, but not when she had to be. For example, take what happened to Jenna... I was so mad. It was not fair, and I felt like Avery didn't do anything to help her. Sure, she had her own shit to deal with but c'mon, she was your friend.

Then we have Brenner...

I wanted to skin him alive with a rusty knife or something like that. I mean, there were no consequences for him after all the fuckery he did. I get it, he's going to play a big role in the next book, but still, nothing. I was so fucking pissed.

Sorry, but I had to rant about it.

description

"We may not have chosen each other, but there is no denying there's chemistry our bodies want to explore."

And explore they did.

The chemistry between the main characters was scorching hot, and my panties know it. Slade was not your typical biker. Yeah, he had a dark, alpha side but still, he was different. And I liked that about him. Now, Avery... well, I think you already know how I felt about her.

A storyline that got me sucked in right from the start, a plot that at some point left me speechless and an ending that left me wanting, no-needing more. The bottom line is that if you love a good darkish, twisty MC Romance, Taking Avery will not disappoint. There's no doubt in my mind I'll be reading the next book.

Taking Avery is the first installment in the LILITH'S ARMY MC by the duo Ker Dukey and D.H. Sidebottom. If you are familiar with their work, you know that when you start one of the or books, you'll be in for some insane stuff... yet, it's not at the feeling I had reading this one. Don't get me wrong, there are gruesome scenes and very dark moments, but I found that the general tone was lighter than what I'm used to with them.

Avery is 18 and the princess of the Fallen Cutters MC. After her and her friends are being attacked at the gas station, she is kidnapped by the rival MC, The Lilit'h's Army. She then encounters the completely unhinged Brenner, his brother Slade (aka Frost) and Tank their dad.
The two MC have been at peace for several months, that's why Tank wants to maintain that peace and protect his son from Grip's (avery's farther) wrath and proposes a deal to Avery, one she has no choice but to accept.
She finds herself on the road in Slade's company, and to be honest, the way things evolve between those two wasn't t what I expected at all.
Avery is young and feisty but at the same time rather innocent and self-conscious. She understand why she has to comply but at the same time, can't help but challenge Slate.
Slade, 10 years older than her is a well developped character. As the son of the Prez, he is ruthless and demands respect, he follows the rules of his MC. His loyalty is for his family and his club before everything else. But he is caring and gentle, sweet with Avery. Not one to really appreciate living in the MCNOLDY compound, he lives in a nice home, even enjoys cooking, etc... There is a duality in him that I found very interesting.

I appreciated that although the chemestry between them is undeniable, they took their time and he certainly didn't force himself on her. Respect, empathy become the base of their relationship. Avery's hilarious comebacks mixed with Slade's hot innuendos were really entertaining.
It doesn't mean that Taking Every isn't very intense and passionate, though!!!!

After a while though, I started wondering where the authors were going to take us; Then, bam, suddenly, the dynamic of the book totally changed and turned darker. Violence, after deceit, after betrayals, family ties and royalties are tested in an action packed ending that left me reeling and in need of the next book Finding Rhiannon!

As I have said many times before, I am a huge lover of MC books and this one, in my personal opinion was brilliant. It is dark, violent, gruesome, sexy and the story does not hold anything back. The first chapter you are going to hate the Lilith’s Army for what their members have done. Two MC clubs, The Cutters and the Lilith’s Army have learned to work together in the past. Both profiting where they can. When three members of the Lilith’s Army make a huge mistake, the consequences can be so damaging that a war could ignite.
Taking a princess that belongs to the Cutters is not a smart move. When the Lilith’s Army realize they have Avery, the princess, they have to come up with a plan to avoid a war starting. The president’s son, Slade is told to marry Avery for the benefit of the club. Slade has no idea what he is getting himself into. They also have a rat in their club and things seem to be going from bad to worse. Can they come out of this whole, or is a war about to star that will rip them apart? The character development was brilliant. The angst, the building climax and the plot twists was intense. It is raw, vivid, twisted, complex and at times tough to read. But it is so good. The story will grip you from page one and it is not for the faint at heart. You have been warned, but if you can handle it, you will love it.

I've only read one previous book written by the combination of these two authors so when I saw they were writing again I was very excited.

Two clubs -Cutters and Liliths Army MC. A recent peace treaty is at risk when when Avery the Cutters princess is taken by a member of Liliths Army. I absolutely loved Frost & Avery.

If your looking for a raw and gritty MC story that is really well written then I highly recommend you read this. Hope we don't have to wait too long for book two.

I just want to add that a few years ago I read a lot of MC books. Maybe I was just burnt out with this genre but I found myself thinking some of the ones I was reading were too similar for my liking. Of course I had faith I these authors and I'm so glad I did. I'll have to look out for some more MC reads.
I had a message last night from a reader. She wanted to know what MC meant. She saw this book on social media and was intrigued. My reply- buy it and read it now. You won't be disappointed.

D H and Ker back together again to bring you a totally different book from them both to what you would normally read from them. They bring you an MC book and what a book it is.
Avery is the princess of Cutters a rival club to Lilith’s army MC... A member of Lilith’s MC takes her against her will...
Things start to spiral out of control whom can Avery trust... you are in for one bumpy ride of a read. Things get intense in some scenes.
Characters you will love and some you will hate... I loved the story, the writing.
This book pulled me in slowly and I did not want it to end. Bring on the next in the series.

This is a motorcycle club dark romance. Not normally my top book choice but I'll read them. Thank goodness I read this one!
I loved this book.
And was swooning hard.
I can't get my hands on the next one fast enough! Even if MC isn't your type of genre but book boyfriends are, read this book.

In the middle of dark and messed up situation there's always a silver lining.
This girl wants out of her family spot light, her responsibilities, and her expected future. But fate won't let her go to far. She's thrown in, literally kicking and screaming, to another family, responsibility, and expected future. She can make the choice once she's there, either learn to live it, or die trying. Neither will be easy. Every princess gets a prince, hers just rides in on a bike instead of a horse. One of the biggest issue they face is the dragon that is trying to take her, is family.

This story is filled with darkness, fear, hope and love. In depth characters, fulfilling story development, great speed, wonderful writing.

The story is set in the violent , gun infested world of MC clubs. Rivals Lilith's Army and Fallen Cutters are on delicate camaraderie scale. Foes turned friends for benefits, so to speak. The mutual trust is tentative .
Cutter's Princess Avery is on her rebellion night furlough one night and they reach wrong place at the wrong time and the whole gang of friends-Her, Jenna, Dean & Jayson get viciously torn apart. The reality of Averys world finally catches up with them. Its not as if shes been laying on a bed of roses as it is, yet she was safer and handled with distant respect at least.
Her life is very sad and stressful all the time and she just endures it and tries to rebel her way out in search of her own little dream world

“Breathe easy, Breathe easy
Tomorrow all of this is just a memory.”

The horrible, fateful night throws her in Slade's "Frost" arms and in a precarious position as a club Princess. The unusual twist is somewhat comic and somewhat sweet , where Slade tries to do what's best for the safety of his club
There's some really tragic happenings that , though very much in line of the MC, make me cringe due to sheer abuse of power and humanity. Jenna is so badly mauled , it's pretty horrific . Which is offset by the budding love on the other spectrum. Thorns and Roses !

It’s a natural born instinct in all of us to make ourselves look bigger and harder than we really are. Even a hedgehog will enhance its spikes to warn others away, even when they have no fight in them.

There's not much sex but a lot of sweet passion and love . The chaos and mayhem comes to Fruition in the last 5 chapters and I'm so wondering how will it all end !
Cannot wait for Finding Rhiannon now

5 Mega MC Stars

Yes Yes Yessssssssssss this book was just what I needed to bring me out of my everything is mehhhhh slump.

2 different clubs on a peace treaty trying to get along, 2 sets of biker brats, 1 scenario gone wrong and boom everything goes up in smoke and the clubs end up at war with each other. It only took one bad egg and his minions to cause all the chaos which lead to more bad eggs and then innocent others paid the price. There's death, destruction and life changing mayhem that will take you on Avery and Slades journey to hell and I promise you won't be disappointed!

It's been a while since I have read a decent MC book and when I saw that Ker Dukey and DH Sidebottom were teaming up again to write one I may have got a tad excited because I knew it wasn't going to lack in anything I would expect from an MC book and I certainly wasn't disappointed.

Avery has a sassy attitude and isn't afraid to use it, growing up in the MC environment she just longs for a normal life but isn't lacking in knowledge of how it all works with the men behind the scenes. Slade (AKA Frost) is a biker through and through but he has a compassionate side to him that's different from that of his brothers but don't let that fool you as he is still alpha through and through.

This story is dark, angsty and alpha not to mention the scenes that will have you hot under the collar. Parts will make you gag and others will make you gasp. It's definitely not for the faint hearted so take note of the dark warning. After that ending I need book 2 like yesterday!

"They have just let the wolf into the hen house, and I’m hungry for revenge."

A secret night full of promises turns into a bloodbath with never ending consequences, a chain of events that brings two clubs to their knees amidst blood soaked rubble. Born to rival MC's that have recently called a tenuous truce, a wild card brother acts impulsively and results in marriage to save the peace. But secrets have an uncanny way of unearthing themselves and there is more at play than first assumed. Sacrifices, truces and loyalty are all put to the test as the MC realises that they are rotten to the core and their club is in danger of falling apart...

Avery is thrust into the world of violence and despair, born a Princess to a club that only sees her as a commodity she yearns for freedom. Understanding that the club comes before herself she finds herself married to the son of another MC in an effort to keep the peace yet she is still in danger. Everyone wants to use her, hurt her and manipulate her but can she find freedom in the arms of Slade? Slade carries the weight of the club on his shoulders, forever changed by a moment in his youth. He will do anything for his Prez and his club even marry a woman he doesn't know or even want. Yet she works her way under his skin, a reflection of himself, he is surprised by her. But nothing is ever easy and war is fast approaching.

Book one in this new MC series is enthralling, I love this genre and these authors so it's a mix made in book heaven. The characters are a perfect blend of sass, dominance and overpowering alpha male that make you swoon just a little...ok maybe a lot, whilst the plot line is raw, grim and very, very twisty. It's a balance between light and dark, with scenes that are very violent and emotive. The characters have depth and are motivated by much darker traits than loyalty. I devoured this whole and it has only whet my appetite for more.

A five star squeeeeeeaaaaaallllll read.

Character development was actually zero. The characters in itself weren't bad, but i was not really interested in them personally. A best friend is left behind, the friend besides the gas station owner is completely forgotten. Only Daniel rides her guilty conscience for a while here and there. She expresses guilt, but she doesn't learn from it and grows.
The basic plot was great, actually. But it was too predictable executed. It was pretty much clear from the start who the bad guys are and that made it hard and boring to watch, as a reader, how long it took for the main characters to catch up on. That also impacted the plot. As at several points it always ended up being the lack of focus of the main characters that kept the plot going and them not discovering what actually goes on. That was disappointing.
The writing was ok. Too many inner statements and monologues, which I personally hate. I like to discover the characters due to action and dialogues, and not read about them in a thought summary. And no one ever thinks like that in real life. And then those overly long love declarations in the inner monologues. Over the top dramatic. For example i loved their goodbye ritual because it was spontaneous and it felt authentic. It developed out of the story and grew with their relationship. It fit the characters. And not a side long proclamation of undying love and changing their world, and how they never expected, yadah yadah...
It felt like the book got stuck between a sappy romance and a dark MC theme. It did not quite cross that bridge to combine it both perfectly. I even started skip some inner thought declaration, as they interrupted the plot with unnecessary personal drama.
I have read better by this author.

My last note is: Those MCs are big in human trafficking. It is only mentioned shortly, but no matter how sympathetic characters are made by authors in treating the persons they choose and love humanly, the fact remains, they are bloody human traffickers. And I can't find any sympathy in that.

Just didn't click...

Didnt like Avery at all she was hot/cold in a snap of fingers, she just played along with the BS wedding thing and goes at her merry way leaving her best friend to be raped, abuse and drugged...

Liked Frost but nothing special, the guy needs to be smarter....

His psycho brother was extreme, just shoot the fucker...

The age diference of the Mc's was to much... She was just a teenager... *gagging*

if i would have really processed the fact that this was written by d.h. sidebottom i probably would have run for the fucking hills.

but i'm glad i didn't notice and i'm glad i read this, because it was genuinely a great MC read.

i know a lot of people complain in sports books/mafia books/MC books at the lack of research that can happen. at the inaccuracy/lack of nuance to the lives of the characters in those sorts of situations. but this was sufficiently gritty and seemed pretty accurate to me.

i'm not going to talk about the plot because i feel like this book would be easily spoiled. that being said, i really liked the overall plot of the book and the characters. avery had dreams that i could relate to and her man was surprisingly awesome. i usually kind of roll my eyes at the alpha male bullshit that goes on in a MC romance but he was actually really cool and respected avery's dreams.

the only thing that made me MEGA cringe were the side characters. again, i don't want to spoil anything but the things that some of the characters get into was beyond perverse and gross. and i don't cringe easily but i did cringe big time at some of the shit that was allowed to happen.

overall i thought this was a pretty great read, if a little cliche. if you like MC romances you'll probably love this, and if you're wanting to try a MC romance then this is definitely a good one to start with.

note: if you're curious about my d.h. sidebottom comment... she wrote one of my least favorite books of all time, "Caged." feel free to go find that review if you want a good laugh.

Ok, so when two of my favorite authors surprised everyone that they were collaborating again...I was excited. When I learned it was going to be an MC novel?...I was ECSTATIC!

D.H. Sidebottom and Ker Dukey can do dark like nobody’s business and Taking Avery is proof they can conquer MC just as well. This was an outstanding start to their new MC series.

With a bit of dark (it wouldn’t be a Sidebottom/Dukey masterpiece otherwise), suspense and plenty of sexual tension this book kept me on my toes from start to finish.

I <3 Slade!!! Slade aka Frost was the perfect blend of badass biker, protector and gentleman. His life has always been about the club and and he’s willing to make whatever sacrifices necessary to ensure what’s best for the club and his brothers. He means business and will take no prisoners, when necessary, but he’s also a smart man that knows what’s right. Slade is only a bad guy when he needs to be and that was apparent from the start.

Avery is a tough cookie. She’s strong and feisty but wants nothing to do with club life. She just wants the freedom to be who she is, but in order to keep people safe- she’s willing to make sacrifices as well. Though it wasn’t a choice she wanted to make, Slade made it easier to accept. He was kind to her and together they were funny with the banter and sarcasm. Their chemistry was apparent and the sexual tension between them was off the charts.

Taking Avery was a great MC novel and I’m looking forward to devouring the rest of the Lilith’s Army MC series!!

FAVORITE QUOTES:
She’s built for sinning, but with her father, I doubt she had much chance to do any. The realization pleases me, and the fact it pleases me makes me angry.

“No one touches what belongs to me.”
“You cut off his finger.” I gag.
“He was lucky he didn’t put his whole hand on you.”

“I like food. Why is it such a ‘thing’ when girls enjoy food?”
“I imagine you eating c*ck with just as much vigor.”

He’s refreshing. I’m under no illusions about the darkness lurking inside him. But it’s mixed almost equally with light. When the lines begin to blur between the two, who will I be left with? The sun or the shadow it creates?

5 hot as sin stars!! Omg I love this book so hard!!

This is the first book of the "Lilith's Army" Series. And I am already hyped up for book two!!!

🖤This is Slade and Avery's story....

AVERY~ Yea I am Cutter's biker gang princess. Not that I feel like it or anything. I just want to spread my wings and tonight I am taking the next step with Dean (my boyfriend my father knows nothing about). Until....

SLADE~ I don't do relationships. I am soon to be the VP of Lilith's Army under my father the Prez. Problem is my fucked up brother has just ruined all the peace we have worked towards with Cutter's gang. Looks like it's time to fix this mess, and it starts with a sexy curvaceous fiery "princess"....

Wow!! Ok I will admit I love Ker Dukey. This is my first book of D.H.'S and let me say these girls rocked my fucking world!!! This book was everything a girl like me needs!! I love biker books but if you have read one you pretty much know how they all go... no this book is not your common biker book. This is a dark twisted, sexy and out right crazy ass book!! I love everything about this book. The love story which came from something horrible. It ended up perfect and damn if that ending didn't leave me dying for more. Let me say I knew Brenner was a dueche but that was being too nice. Slade is one sexy contradiction. Yes he is definitely your bad boy biker but there is so much more under there. He is what I envision perfection!! Yummy!! Ok I feel like I am over the place but I am like just in love with this book.

This book had me dreaming about it and picking it up every single chance I got. I was dragged into this violent, naughty, crazy, and sexy world and I loved every minute of it. The book was written beautifully and by two authors who felt as one. This is a MUST read!!

Hit the ground running, that’s what it felt like when I flipped onto the first page of this book. Action-packed right from the start and it never slows down. Wow, I am very impressed with these authors’ first foray into the MC genre.

Written from dual points of view, the main characters are Avery and Slade aka Frost both children of MC leaders. Avery is the eighteen-year old princess of the Fallen Cutters motorcycle club and Slade, late twenties, is the Sergeant-at-arms and son of the president of Lilith’s Army motorcycle club. When something happens to Avery and her friends, the fallout causes a repercussion on Avery and Slade’s lives. The good news is they found each other. The bad news is that when the pair got thrown together and forged a bond between them it also resulted in betrayal, mayhem and bloodshed. How will they survive?

Considering that MC stories are not exactly my favourite genre although there are a few that I liked I have now added this book to my list of top MC books in my library. I love that Slade is not your stereotypical biker character and Avery is not your usual biker princess either. She wants to be independent and free from the MC life. I have read previous books these two authors collaborated on and one thing I noticed is that they create unforgettable villains in their stories. In Taking Avery one of the bad guys is such a nasty piece of work that he makes me want to jump inside the book and go on full throttle bad-ass biker mode on him.

This well written book is full of suspense, violence, chaos, seriously scorching sex scenes and a dash of romance. I cannot wait for the next one. Ker Dukey and D H Sidebottom, I think you’ve turned me into an MC fan. Bring it on, ladies!

Heartpounding and gritty, grabbed me from word one and I couldn't (wouldn't) look away until I was done. A whirlwind of unbelievable events throw Avery into the arms of Frost, and two MC clubs are joined under false pretenses. What comes next is nothing short of explosive!!!!

"I can't help but worry that the cost of this will be more than our freedom. A war is coming. I can feel it in the depths of my soul. And for Avery, choosing a side is going to be costlier than she can ever imagine."

Frost and Avery are like an ignitable liquid near a flame, each powerless to avoid the pull each has over one another. So many twists and turns in this one, and as it unravels, it was nothing short of addictive and intoxicating to watch them light everything aflame.

Frost was perfectly alpha, yet endearingly sexy, and the banter was impeccable. With my heart in my throat, and heat in my gut, I watched them go from strangers to one of the hottest MC couples I've read for awhile.

"I'm under no illusions about the darkness lurking inside him. But it's mixed almost equally with light. When the lines begin to blur between the two, who will I be left with? The sun or the shadow it creates?"

You won't want to put this down as you race to see how it ends. Personally, the whole book made me want to inhale the entire series in one sitting without coming up for air, and I cannot wait for more!! Dark, gritty, powerfully sexy, and action-packed. Do not miss this one!!! I thank the Authors for providing a copy to review!!

I think I should start by saying that I read a lot and this is probably only the third MC book I've read. While I enjoyed the others, they never gave the feels like this one did and they also didn't leave me gripping my kindle like this one did, either. When I realized that I was at the end of the book I started to get agitated, like seriously, I started to freak out a little because I wasn't ready for it to be over. I'm STILL not ready for it to be over and start the wait for the next book!! Don't you just love when you get so into a book, so invested in the characters, that you just get all crazy when the books done? No? Just me?

*sigh*

Slade. Slade is yummy. Sometimes crazy/scary, demanding, definitely alpha male, and all around bad boy yummy. Really, that's all you need to know and once you read the book, you'll understand, and then you will fight with your book buddies about who gets dibbs on the scrumptious book boyfriend...

In all seriousness, Taking Avery is a very good book. It's obviously an MC book so you know it's gonna be a bit dark, kidnapping, blood and such, but not that bad, in my opinion. I crave the darkness so nothing is ever that bad to me. *shrugs* Definitely makes me want to read more MC books, that's for sure. Dukey and Sidebottom, I bow to you, for being able to write different genres and rock them all.

When I found out two of my favourite authors were collaborating again I did a fist pump finding out it was a new MC series was just the icing on the cake.
This is a gritty, raw and unapologetically violent book with so many layers to the story. Don't go into this thinking your going to get a nice fluffy read it's so far from that it's not funny but these two authors together are the mistresses of dark storytelling, you've been warned.
From the moment we meet Avery you realise she's not your typical MC princess which was good as I like it when expectations are flipped on the reader. On a night when she's rebelling against her MC Prez dad she's thrown into a nightmare situation. What happens that night will change her life forever when it brings Slade into her life.
This is something different from these authors but it was sooo good I really hope we don't have to wait long for book two in this series.

The book was interesting but not amazing until about 70% where I was wondering if it was possible I could get blue balls?

Oh and for a Frost being such a “badass alpha male” he sure does allow men to choke, hit, man handle and call his wife a cunt and a bitch a lot *rolls eyes*

Then 87% the book just goes to shit. It’s like whaka mole - everyone is dying and I no longer care.
By the way if someone just beat you, kidnapped you and cut a slice of flesh from your body - you aren’t going to be having sex an hour or so later acting like the sky is blue and the world is a-ok.

Really enjoyed reading Taking Avery! The beginning started with a bang and I was hooked. It was the perfect way to start off a story. I loved the way Avery was written she was totally sassy but knew when to reign it in a little! She was really strong and selfless. Slade is definitely the sexy biker who is surprisingly sweet behind closed doors, I loved all his badassery and his nobility!

Secondary characters were so well written, I loved how we thought one thing about certain characters and afterwards we find out something completely different. Brenner was seriously messed up like my man needs to see a psychiatrist but characters like that make these types of books, their what keeps it gripping!

The ending left us hanging on the edge but Avery and Slade are definitely happy for now. Next is Rhiannon’s book and I’m excited to see what happened to her!!
