This is from an author that never disappoints and this is a fabulous collection of the first three stories in her Bad Things series. You will be in your happy reading place as you fall into the world where two powerful Lords make deals but sometimes the outcome is not what you might expect.
The Devil in Disguise introduces the somewhat jaded Luke who is the big bad that haunts the night. A woman of singular talent comes into his life and Luke finds himself poleaxed by Minas audacity. Not everything is black and white as good and bad are put to the test with Luke’s brother Leo adding to the confusion.
On the Prowl brings Rose a Vampire back into the life of Panther shifter Julian. Rose has spent a lot of time running and whilst trying to evade a group experimenting on captured supernaturals still has to learn that she’s no longer prey. Yet discovering the bargains that Julian has made since losing her is heartbreaking. Luke might enjoy meddling but Leo isn’t exactly truthful either.
Undead or Alive might be shorter but still packs a punch as Cass the last Reaper chases down Amber who Luke is very keen to catch up with. Cass has a touch that is deadly ( literally!) but in return for bringing back Amber Luke has agreed to deliver a Mate that Cass can actually place his hands on. What could possibly go wrong?
These stories are well written, sexy too but it’s the twisting overall arc surrounding the two Lords that simply gripped me. Plus as I write the author has another book set in this world planned but for now though I leave you with Luke in the red corner and Leo in the blue !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

The Devil is Disguise
Wooooooooooooww.....just wow. So many amazing paranormal stars for this one for sure. Cynthia Eden really outdid herself this time. OMG, if you are a paranormal fan, then you gotta read this book/series. So damn good. It has everything, absolutely everything in it. I laughed, I cried, my heart broke, I was shocked, I was drawn into every single page....seriously, so damn good. And anything you think you know...you don’t. It was so fast paced right from the start until the end. And one twist after another, I couldn’t put the book down, seriously book crack for sure. Couldn’t get enough.

Mina’s on the run and knows exactly where she needs to go. Luke is the Lord of the Dark, and he is quite taken with Mina. There are people out to destroy and use the paranormals, and they work to try to prevent that. Such a great storyline.

This was a safe read, with a soulmate couple if I ever read one. The kind of love that stands through anything that comes their way. Not gonna lie, I am a big Cynthia Eden fan, but this book...kinda awed me, seriously I just couldn’t get enough. So...sorry to cut this short, but gotta read the next book...like nowish. So should you...you’re welcome.

Psst...before I forget, this book, book 1, is free on most platforms right now....I know, right...get excited.

On the Prowl
Julian, Julian, Julian.....he’s Luke’s top assassin, also a panther shifter...did I mention that, so he’s kinda a badass. He goes after the rogue paranormals that are crossing the line in their world, and our world. We met the vampire Rose, that holds his heart, in book 1. This book just picks up from that book. We get more of their story, including how they met and separated. Julian has been assigned as her protector, because there are people after her and other paranormals. She also may have gained some attention from a batshit crazy person called the “Collector” (que the evil music).

Right from the prologue this book is a fast paced wild ride, with a ton of suspense. So much happens in this book, you can’t miss a single line, so good. Luke is still funny af. Oh, and you know how his twin is supposed to be the light twin aka the good twin...yeah, I’m not really convinced of all that ridiculousness. Luke is definitely my favorite, by far. We get more of our favorites from book 1 and gained some additional favorites. Oh, and kudos for the use of wanker...freaking loved that. These two were so hot, steamy vampire and shifter kind of hot. Whew, burning up my kindle. This was a safe read, they were separated, but no mention of others in that time. Fantastic book crack series. Seriously, I just can’t get enough. Just binge reading away. More please, more please.

Undead or Alive
The Reaper’s in the house *fist bump*. This is Cass, he’s the reaper and the last of his kind. To say that he’s socially awkward may be an understatement, but he’s also adorably awkward. He just wants a mate that he can touch with his hands...awwwweeeeee. Since he is death, and holds all the power of the reapers, anything he touches dies...oh and did I mention he couldn’t die, yeah, there’s that fun fact too. So really a badass, wait, did I also mention his tattoo of a scythe is magical and the scythe he uses....yup....total freaking badass. I think our twins may even be a bit weary of him. And I may have a teeny, tiny crush on him too

Nice reading!

You will not want to stop reading till you reach the end of the third book, and even then you'll want more.
The main characters of book one: Luke Thorne and Mina James are the main flag of this first book. They have some depth and through Luke, his friends and bodyguards the story flows into the other books. Luke is the Devil, the bad and dark one, but most of the time during the story, you'll keep thinking of Leo, the good and from the light one, isn't the bad guy.
This first book shows Mina trying to get way from a secret government unit specialized in using beings with supernatural powers. For this end, she tries to steal the Dark one's stone, and through this turning Luke's life upside down.
The second book tells the story of Julian Craig, panther shifter and Luke's bodyguard, and Rose Kinley. Rose was once upon a time Julian's girlfriend, but being what he is caused her death and undeath. Follow in this book their angst and difficulties to help each other to survive a hunt from the same government unit of the first book.
The third one is the story of Cass Garvan and Amber. He is a special kind of being and the last of his kind. He is The Reaper, Death, and with just one touch of his bare hands causes death. He accept a special job from Luke: find Amber and bring her to him alive in exchange for a mate to Cass. A mate he could touch without killing.
Amber is running away from Luke and his twin brother Leo, and after Cass finds her their dance around each other will bring just one thing between them: love. It's heartbreaking how you can feel Cass deep solitude of being the last of his kind, the Reaper, and not being able to touch anybody. See how death falls in love with a special woman while running away from powerful beings.
In summary, an enjoyable readind!

Bad Things Volume One contains the first three novels in the Bad Things series by Cynthia Eden.

Devil in Disguise introduces us to the Bad Things world, and the leader of them, Luke Thorne, often thought of as the "Devil." He rescues Mina James from several situations, ultimately leading to the discovery of (1) what type of supernatural Mina is and (2) that someone is experimenting on supernatural creatures. This second discovery reoccurs periodically in the series, as Luke and his people search for those who are hurting them.

On the Prowl is the second book in the series. Picking up shortly after the events of the first, On the Prowl is the second chance at love story of Rose and Julian. It is a fast paced adventure, with just the right amount of heat to keep things "interesting."

The third book in the set (and the series), Undead or Alive, is about the last reaper, Cassius, & his new prey, Amber. Although there was no "set up" for the story (as was the case with On the Prowl at the end of The Devil in disguise). However, that did not present a problem. Cynthia Eden is such an excellent writer that coming into this story with nothing but the synopsis was more than enough to hook me from the start and keep me going to the end. Characters from the previous Bad Things books do make an appearance, so while reading them would enhance your understanding of the relationships, it did not feel necessary.

Like all of her books that I have read, I had trouble putting all of these down until each one was over. I can't wait for the next one, and I hope it won't be the last.

All of these books are good!

Bad Things Books 1-3 by Cynthia Eden: All of the books are so good!

*****The Devil in Disguise #1:
This story is entertaining with some unexpected twists. Many dangerous and tense situations, while redefining good and evil.

*****On The Prowl #2:
A misguided, evil plot. With victims. With good vs evil in question. And a love story with a HEA. Very good!

*****Undead or Alive #3:
These stories just kept getting better! This one has all the feels and an incredible HEA!

The good and the bad...

I was very impressed with the stories. Such interesting plots and variable characters.
Each story is well-written and planned. The characters are totally well conceived and each has been written to make them believable.
Oh, I plan to follow this author as I know she has more stories to come in this series

Oh so good

This is the first three books in the Bad Things series. They are great stories. The characters are complex and multi dimensional. The storylines are fascinating. Best of all is the world building. It is magical in both a light and dark way. I intend to read the rest of this series, and much more by this author.

Bad was never so good

Three fun interlocking stories of paranormals finding love, the hard way. I enjoyed the twin lords of dark and light, finding the shades of grey between them.

Without my review being too long (this is three books in one) I will give you my thoughts on the books overall. Cynthia Eden writes a great paranormal novel with hero’s that can be a bit of an alpha-hole but fall head over heels for the heroine. Her heroines are strong and capable equals for their HEA’s. Her world building is imaginative, the mythology fascinating and her dialog is snappy and witty. Great read for the paranormal lover!
