Maryanne has spent years caring for her sister while the guilt of her accident weighs heavy on her shoulders. When her sister dies, she isn’t sure where she fits in anymore. No one has room for a plain, ordinary spinster with nothing to offer. When Miss Hazel tells her she’s found a Mountie in the Yukon Territory who she believes would be perfect for her, Maryanne figures she’s got nothing else to lose.
Preston won’t let himself fall in love with another woman who can break his heart when she finds out the truth about him. But when his commanding officer mentions that he should marry in order to make the local Indian tribes accept him, he decides he may as well take a wife.
When Maryanne arrives, Preston soon finds himself wondering if he could trust her with the secrets from his past. As they grow to care for each other, he realizes Maryanne has much more to offer than he’d originally believed.
Can two wounded hearts find a way to trust that they are worthy of each other? And what will happen when the past shows up on their doorstep, threatening to ruin the foundation they’ve started to build?

Maryanne spent most of her life taking care of her sister who was injured at a young age. Once she passed Maryanne tried to help her parents and the store. As the store was running down Miss Hazel comes to the rescue to have her marry one of the mounties.
Preston has been hurt once before. He has been asked to marry to the tribe people will trust him more so he agrees. When she arrives he knows she is pretty but can she take his secret or will she run like his ex finance'?
The characters were ones you wanted to keep reading about. Maryanne had a rough time after her sister passed away. Preston has been hurt and doesn't want to let anyone else in his life. He helps her and her friends and the two are wonderful together. Another great story.
I loved this book 6 in the RNWMP Mail Order Mounties series. This was such a good book that I just kept reading it and now putting it down. The characters are very real with their backgrounds and problems and insecurities they each bring. As Maryanne is insecure and holding such pain in that she doesn’t know that she can let it go until she tells Preston and he tells her it’s not her fault. She also feels she is not beautiful and that her very handsome doesn’t love her. He on the other hand has a secret that he is very afraid to tell his wife due to the reaction of the last woman he was going to marry.
Boy this has a lot of action and ups and downs that you are drawn in from the beginning and can’t stop reading until the end.
I highly recommend this book and you can read alone or start from the first book in the series to get to know the other characters in the series.
What a fun and exciting way to meet your future spouse. The mail order bride was an adventurous way to find someone to share a life with and reading about what those young ones go through as they eventually find love is such a treat to those of us who just absolutely enjoy the twists and turns in each of these young women's stories. I love how you used Clara in Maryanne's moment of need. I was waiting for when she would show up. If you have not read this author before, she is a must read!!!! Thank you again for a awesome plot that kept the pages turning right to the end!!!
I read RNWMP: Bride for Preston through the kindle Unlimited program. Miss Hazel has done it again! Maryanne and Preston both struggle with something and it going to take a special person to help them through it. Maryanne struggle with guilt over the accident of her sister. Preston struggle with having feet in two very different worlds and worry that if it comes out He won't be accepted in either. Another good story in a series that give you a look in to a Mounties and the Mail Order Brides brave enough to marry them. Well Dome!
This is so much better than the previous book of Wesley and Lisa. Maryanne has always taken care of her disabled sister and when her sister dies, she feels she has nothing else to do and doesn't want to be a burden to her parents any longer. Along comes Miss Hazel who takes her under her wing and prepares her to become a mail order bride for another Mountie, this time Preston. This is a wonderful story. Both Preston and Maryanne have suffered through the years with different issues, but suffered. This is how they healed each other and found love.
Another great book about the crazy matchmaker who is great at her new calling in life. I have enjoyed these books so much and can't wait for the next new book. I stop whatever I am reading to start on the new one. Only 2 more books and I hope they start on some more Mountie bride stories. Maybe even just mail order brides for any of the Alaska men! Just please don't stop writing these wonderful series!
This is the seventh book in this series(the first is Book0). After reading about the five Mounties in Squirrel Ridge Junction, we moved to Moose Lick, Yukon. After we read about Lisa, the friend of Jess and JoAnn in earlier books, we reach this book which is about MaryAnne, a girl from Ottawa who recently lost her sister. And Preston, a Mountie who has mixed Indian and white blood. It's nice to see how they each help the other.
I truly enjoyed this read! I had begun to get rather bored with the series because all the stories began to sound the same! Although this one showed sign much of the same I enjoyed the playfulness of the Indians and their wisdom! I enjoyed the re-entry of "Clara" the cougar and then the entry of "Oscar" bunny! My curious nature will have me finishing the series but I hope the scenarios start to become different from here on out no matter whose writing!🙄🙏🏾😩😉
Touching, kind and loving. Mrs. Dawson captured the essences of felling in her characters to show the strengths as well as the weakness without diminishing who they are. The dialogue is completely spot on. This love story is one that sneaks up on you but oh how satisfying.
This is the story of two broken hearts. Looking at the future makes you study your past. Being there for someone is a healing balm that Preston and Mayanne both need to move forward and leave their regrets in the past. Two broken hearts can be mended into a beautiful marriage.
Maryanne accepts Ms. Hazel's offer to travel to the Yukon as a Mountie's mail order bride in order to ease her parent's burden after her sister passed away. She is sure the chances of a real relationship is not possible. Preston is certain his half breed heritage will never allow him to have a true marriage. Can love find a way?
If you like to read mail order bride books, you need to read this book
Maryann Drayson travels by train from Ottowa to the Yukon. She's one of several mail order brides. They were matched by a woman who gets back ground information about each Mounty.
I'm amazed Ms Kay P. Dawson by the fact that you and the many , many other Women can somehow take the same subject,"mail order brides" and some how tell so many different wonderful creations! Am I allowed to write that long a sentence? I hope you women don't get tired of it, I won't get tired of reading them.
I loved this book as it took hold of you from the beginning and didn't let you go till the end. This author for me, is just an author that doesn't write a bad story all of hers, the story line and characters all fit in and I always find myself latching onto one or more of the characters. You just can't go wrong when you read one of Kay's books. Kay hit a grand slam with this book!
The story of Mary Ann is such a beautiful story of beauty. But not of the outside Beauty it is one of the Beauty with inside of each of us. I love how the baby cougar and its mother came to rescue her from the Lord's when she was out in the wilderness. This is a wonderful story of her and Preston. This book is a must-read.
This is such a sweet and heartwarming romance with well developed characters. It has terrific friendships and the female characters show their love of animals. Highly recommend this book if you are looking for a sweet romance. I will definitely be reading the next books in the series. Also, the matchmaker Miss Hazel, is amazing.
I liked Preston's character, but I did think MariAnne was slightly too good to be true. I must admit to having a laugh at she thought of crocheted wool blankets being given to the Indian women to keep warm when they had animal fur. I know which I would rather have! Still this is all fantasy and I shouldn't take it so literally.
I enjoyed watching the two main characters in this story learn to trust their hearts again. Both Maryanne and Preston have been hurt in the past making them reluctant to get close to other people. In the close proximity of their cabin, they figure out to do just that but not before some bumps along the way. Their journey felt believable and I enjoyed the tale!
This series has been a fun and delightful journey into the lives of the RNWMP. This latest addition has added to fun filled journey. Realistic and believable characters. Humor and unexpected twists make this book fun.
This is a beautiful tale and parts of it will bring you to tears. Preston and Maryanne have both been through a lot in their lives, but together they can bring each other joy and peace.
Loved this book! All the twists, just when you think something is going to happen it goes another way. If I could give it more stars I would. I would recommend this book to everyone!
I found this to be a sweet romance with a little spice and a small wild animal thrown in. I love the character of Miss Hazel in these books and how each bride finds just the right Mountie! I'd recommend this book to everyone who likes short, sweet stories.
I look forward to every Friday when I can read a new Mail Order Mounties book. These ladies do a great job at demonstrating one does not have to be perfect to find love. Looking forward to the next book in the his series.
I liked the very human people in this story. Each one had his or her own troubles and learn how to work through them. There are wild animals, Native Americans, rich people and poor people. It was very well done.
I love this series and each book brings a new magical addition. The way these writers spin their tales of misfortune and love found. The epilogue is truly so heartwarming it made me tear up.
These brides are always finding animals to keep themselves busy! This book approaches multicultural differences that we face so often today and I feel it was handled well. This is a super fun book. Recommended for everyone!
Thank you so much for writing this book , I will recommend this and the Author to all my friends and family. I have fallen in love with the story and the characters. Great reads. Please don't stop.
Kay Dawson writes another awesome love story. It is nice to see characters that have a good heart. So many books are written with characters that you’d hope you never meet, but Kay’s characters are a pleasure to know. Worth your time. 5
The true colors of a person will show in just about any situation, but will you see them? Maryann is totally the best thing that ever happened to Preston.
