A stone in the shoe is irritating. A stone around the neck is a nightmare. Victoria should be happy. Elated. Enemies have been defeated and her new life has endless possibilities. But things never stay uncomplicated for long. Not for her. The wolf essence stone was supposed to cure wolves of their shifting curse. Instead, it adheres itself to her, and casts a new curse on almost everyone surrounding her. Even worse, it speaks to her—leading her to a disturbing and heartbreaking realm where no one can find her and no one can follow. Each time she disappears, she returns with no memory of what transpired and is left with a feeling of dread. Toby suffers more from the curse than the rest of his pack. The wolf essence stone seems to actively hate him and often repels him away from the love of his life. Compounding their problems? A secret society wants the stone for their own nefarious ends and the evil witch who created the curse has also resurfaced—and everything they do puts Victoria’s life in jeopardy. All the supernaturals must band together in an epic battle for control of the stone. But before it’s over, one or more of them may have to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Stacy Claflin writes about complex women overcoming incredible odds. Whether it's her Gone trilogy of psychological thrillers, her ongoing Transformed paranormal saga, or her Seaside Hunters sweet romance series, Stacy's three-dimensional heroines shine through.
Decades after she wrote her first stories on construction paper and years after typing on an inherited green screen computer that weighed half a ton, Stacy realized her dream of becoming a full-time author.
When she's not busy writing or educating her kids from home, Stacy enjoys watching TV shows like Supernatural, Pretty Little Liars, and Once Upon a Time.
I read the first book in this series awhile ago and I don't think I've read any of the books in between before reading this book. I can say that there were a lot of things that I was missing- back story, relationship progression, etc., but I feel like I had a handle on most things that were happening. This series is probably best read in order though! :)
Paranormal characters are in full forces in this story. Witches, werewolves, valkyrie, vampires, shape shifters, you name it, it's probably in this book or in this series!
One thing I really loved about this book was the sense of community and family in the core group of characters. They work well together and look out for each other. Individually I didn't feel much emotional connection to the characters, but I really enjoyed them as a whole.
The beginning of this book is a bit slow as everyone is fawning over Victoria but things do pick up resulting in a very climactic ending. The author leaves a few openings for future books which look promising- especially the one involving the Jaguar!
Content: mild violence, kissing, implied intimate relations between a married couple with no details.
- I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions expressed here are my own.
Devoured this in a few hours sitting! I couldn't wait for the last instalment of this part of the story. And Caflin certainly didn't disappoint!
I adore Soliel's character, loved the comedy she brings to it. And yet, that ending!! Broke my heart...won't do full spoilers, but I do hope they're reunited in future books.
I did feel again like a lot of the action was in the last 25/30 pages, it all seems to happen at once, then it's over...I'd have liked to get into more of the story around the children Victoria keeps meeting - around their own graves?! I really thought we would get more of an explanation.
The random formidable Secret society didn't actually seem that formidable...I kind expected them to be much harder to figure out and defeat! I did love the development of Gessilyn, she has to be one of my most favourite characters. I love how she manages everything throughout, seeing her push her skills to save them all. Love her.
Great book overall, I have loved every word of this series. Please do keep them coming!!

I did not care for the lack of explanation of where the necklace entered the story. The necklace was just stuck to our heroine's neck. Caflin really needs to write more to her books, sometimes in the front of the story and sometimes in the conclusion. She really has the Hamilton syndrome, too many powerful enemies and we have to solve X with a great show of force generally with next to no strategy. I am a completionist. I read fast enough that reading through the series is acceptable brain fodder. I like a few key charachters. By the way they came up with a moderate way to solve the problem, which has diminishing returns the more wolves found or born. Meah.
I have no idea why i read this series till end..maybe because i bought it seeing the good reviews and i dont want to waste my money. The story plot is okay..but the book lacks the explanation of the characters, surrounding and facts..In the whole series the author talks about a high witch and didnt care to explain what high witch means..!!I have no idea about it till the end. 50% of the story is like eating food.Whatever happens, they eats, thatsit. No docs,no meds...always eat. Energy down-eat Character about to die-eat Nearing full moon-eat At full moon-eat After full moon-eat
Nothing more than that. And i dont want to tell how stupid victoria is in this full series. She was going to college and I dont know what happens to her college and her friends. They have disappeared from this series magically. Author dont want to explain...Great just leave it. The plot is very simple and sidestories hangs just like that
Dont waste your time on this series.... I wont recommend it.
In this book we have 2 different enemies. We have a witch named Azure who is descended from a high witch. She happens to be the witch who helped create the wolf essence stone. And she like everyone else wants the stone. The other is the secret society designed to keep the stone from everyone. Obviously they want the stone to hide it again. They prove to be almost impossible to beat because no one knows how many there are. Also they attacked in waves. I have a feeling we haven't seen the last of them. Something one of Toby & Victoria's kids says really solidifies this for me. Plus how many are there? No one knows. Carter is still hunting a mysterious female shifter. Unfortunately, he just can't get close enough to find her. I think when he does the real work will start. Victoria keeps being led to a cemetery and she never remembers what she sees or what happens there. I feel this is very important & wish she would have let Gess help her remember.
Lost Wolf is the 5th book in the Curse of the Moon series by Stacy Claflin.
I haven't read all the books in the series yet, but I was able to pick up the storyline quickly. I think it would be difficult to read this without at least reading Lost Wolf.
It's full of an interesting, diverse group of characters - werewolves, vampires, witches, trolls, and Valkyries. I love the close relationships the characters have. There are a lot of paranormal elements, romance, and friendships.
I sounds like this is the last book to feature Toby and Victoria which is sad considering what happened to Victoria when she first had the stone. There is definitely more story to tell.
I received this book as a gift and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
Really I'm hovering between 3 and 4 stars. I enjoyed this story, as I have the others, and found the plot interesting. But it felt like a bit of an info dump, I assume partially because this is the last story focusing on these characters and the author wanted to tie up loose ends. However...she also added new loose ends! I'm hoping the coming related stories help address that, because otherwise it will drive me bonkers.
I'm glad the main storyline is wrapped up, though, and they presumably get at least a bit of a happy ending (as implied by the epilogue). While I still have questions, I'm comfortable with the ending. Looking forward to reading the Carter and Soleil books though!
I received Cursed Wolf as a review copy from the author/publisher. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. Much as I have loved other books in this series, I have to admit I struggled for the first twenty-five percent of the book. Everything seemed to be a repeat of characters fawning over Victoria. I understand this was setting up the plot, but seriously, I think every secondary character was pulled forward to make a variation of the same over-the-top comment. Luckily! Claflin came through and the pace and plot picked up (so stick with this one!).
When will their suffering end!! It's crazy that they just can't let things go especially when they r told the truth. At least Victoria was able 2 c looks at her future kids even though it's difficult 2 remember them. At least they could put others in their places. It's wonderful that they finally found a way 2 break that nasty curse. But the question is will it b able 2 help all wolves or just certain ones. Is there enough 4 everyone...etc. im shocked about her sis and her man (maybe husband and kid) it'll b interesting 4 more soon.
Well I loved seeing some new characters thrown in but I think some more could been done with the Secret Wolf Society, given maybe more background with them than hunting the stone. And I still would love to see more history about Quinn and love a series about Tap. But I'm glad how this one ended. Can't wait to read Carter's book. Also wondering if maybe there will be a sequel series about the children whom are in the book. Would be nice to know more about things hinted at happening in the future and such.
There's so much going on in this family of shifters and valkyrie! The graveyard has secrets which made me really curious, but everytime Victoria goes there she forgets what happened. So the secrets aren't easily uncovered. The epic battle was pretty gruesome but otherwise it couldn't be believable I guess. The end left me wanting for the next book!
I received a free copy and this is my honest review.
I liked the overall story. I really liked the way everyone worked together towards one common goal. Break the wolf curse so they can shift anytime not just on a full moon. I was however disappointed in Victoria. She is a strong woman/wolf and in this book she was basically the damsel in distress. She needed to be saved several times and that to me was not a good way to tell a story of a brave, strong and independent women. Overall the story was good.
Cursed Wolf is Book 5 of the Curse of the Moon Series. I highly recommend you read this series in order and not jump around. Cursed Wolf has a lot going on and is jam-packed with all kinds of paranormal goodies...don't blink or you might miss something good! A must-read!
An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review of which this is both honest and completely voluntary.
I have been provided with a copy of Cursed Wolf by the author for an impartial review. This is the fifth book in the Curse of the Moon series and oh my gosh this book just had so much going on in it. I just love absolutely loved getting to reenter this world with Toby and Victoria and the pack. They just can’t seem to keep themselves out of trouble something is always coming up and I just absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
This Series is by far one of my favorites. Toby and Victoria are #goals! Their love and fierce loyalty are inspirational. My only disappointment is I wish we had more time to explore the hidden cemetery. I was so intrigued by that idea and possible story line. I wish it was explored more. I felt it didn't get the chance it deserves. However, I will be adding this series to my read again and again list. It was outstanding! Thank you Stacy Claflin!
Such a energetic story! Victoria is a wolf shifter and has a crystal necklace that is giving her the power to shift anytime. A strong witch wants it and it takes everyone to fight all the witches, who will win? Time to get this book and find out! Great book. I received a complimentary copy of this book for voluntary review consideration.
OKay, I"m back and forth on this one. You see Intense story, engaging again from the first word. NO explicit detailing on intimacy, just you know, though it almost stepped to that line. Obviously, with shifter, they are going to be without clothes but again nothing mentioned. It had a lot more gore in this one than the others. I'm nervous to read the last one but I think I'll give it a try.
I thought this was a well written story of shifters and other mythical creatures who come together to fight the evil trying to hurt Toby and Victoria's wolf pack. Full of action and a love that cannot be broken. I received a complimentary copy and I am reviewing voluntarily.
What a read, this series was great and what an ending. This book was thrilling and gripping and what a battle. Characters were amazing throughout this book and series and were well written. You will love this series. I was given this book as an arc for a honest review.
Loved this series. I love supernatural and paranormal books and movies. Toby and Victoria got their happily ever after or did they? The necklace is causing problems. Great series ending and sad it is over. A love that cannot die and the power of family and friendship. Highly recommend.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. The story of the cursed moon shifters continues... interesting and suspensful as there happens a lot and keeps you glued to your device. Great read..
Loved it! This series is all great. Victoria and Toby find more trouble, or rather it keeps finding them. Well written, great plot and characters. Looking forward to book 5! I received a complimentary copy of this book, and love to share my honest reviews!
A single stone with the curse of an ancient evil witch is the key that unites Werewolves, Vampires, Dragons Witches, Faeries and all manner of magical beings. All culminating in an all out Armegedon of Magical good and evil.
Book 5 was an exciting read with all the supernaturals getting together to battle Azure. While the series could have ended in this book, it will continue on in Book 6 with Carter's story.
Love this series. Couldn't put them down. Free on Kindle unlimited which is awesome lots of good authors on ku. Can't want to cont. W Carter then with the valkeri series plus transformations that I've already started so far so good
Wow loved this series so much going on so many paranormal wolf's vampires dragons witches fairies goblins and more a love that is like no other lots of twists and turns
Great that the story continued on really excited about what happens to the two lack member s one that had to run and the other that has been tracking the line jaguar....
Enjoyable story that I was able to read quickly, although the other books in the series were better. I still enjoy books by this author, not every book has to be up to parr always.
