Sloane Monroe Stories - Mystery Novella Series (with characters from the main series)
This short novella is the second Deadly Sins story featuring characters from the author's popular Sloane Monroe series. In this one, Sloane's best friend Maddie has a bad experience on a blind date and is kidnapped along with two other women.
Sloane and Coop, the town police chief, immediately work together to solve this crime. The story moves at a very fast pace but allows the reader to learn more about the familiar characters and a little about the new ones. Another very good story from Cheryl Bradshaw that her fans will want to read.
Sloane's friend Maddie suddenly disappears, along with three other women. Where can they be and what do they have in common? None of their disappearances can be connected. Sloane finally gets the opportunity to work with Coop, her grandmother's boyfriend and the police chief.
Too short! I thought Sloanes grandmother was dating Coops father??? I'm flabbergasted at how short this story is. I never would have paid $2.99 if I had any idea.
This is the second short story in the Deadly Sins group, following Sloth, and featuring Sloan Monroe, P.I. Very quick read. Maddy goes on a blind date and finds him so uninteresting that she leaves the restaurant while he is in the restroom. He follows her to the parking lot, gets aggressive, and she knocks him down. On her way home, headlights flash in her window, and the following vehicle gets way too close, trying to run her off the road. She crashes into a tree, and calls Sloan to tell her what happened. Then another car stops, a woman who says she is a doctor and wants to help. That's all Maddy remembers, until she wakes up in a strange room with another girl, both tied to beds. When Maddy is reported missing, Sloan insists on being part of the investigation, especially when she finds that another woman has been reported missing. When a third one goes missing, things get dangerous. There is a lot packed into a very short story, and some of it was a bit confusing - but I was probably reading it too fast. An interesting story. Familiarity with the Sloan Monroe series would help, but is not really necessary. It is a very short story - don't spend too much on it!
If you are familiar with the Sloane Monroe series, you will recognize the characters, but you do not need to have read them to follow. (If you have not read them, this is a good way to get a quick glimpse into that world and those characters.) This is a quick mystery that involves one of Sloane's best friends, Maddie. The story is well written and easy to read. Alternating between Maddie and Sloane's POV. Since it is a short story/novella, it moves faster than your full length book, and thus doesn't get too complicated or too in depth with the solving of the crime aspect. It may move quickly, but you do get a good feel for the characters and their personalities in that time. It's a pretty clean read, although this is a bit of violence at the end. I would say it's suitable for 16+.
Deadly Sins: Wrath ( Sloane Monroe Series - #2 ) By: Cheryl Bradshaw Deadly Sins Wrath is book two in Sloane Monroe Series. I enjoyed this short mystery story. The story was easy to read and the characters were well developed. Bradshaw weaves a fast pace story that will have you on the edge of your seat trying to read faster to see what its going to happen next. This story is about Sloane’s best friend Maddie. She has a very bad date and things start to get out of control. Can Sloane help her? I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to write a positive review.
Sloane's friend, Madison "Maddie" La Foe goes on a blind date. It doesn't go well, so she bails on the guy. There is a confrontation between the guy and Maddie. Maddie leaves and then is followed by a pickup and ends up in the ditch. A woman stops and tells her that help is on the way....only it isn't. Maddie is kidnapped and she isn't the only one. There are 3 other women kidnapped in a short period of time. What is the connection? Is it their looks or who they know? Can Sloane help the police find them in time? Read the book to find out.
Maybe a 4 * for a short story. Maddie had a blind date with a guy and it ended up badly. On her way home in the snow someone run her off the road. Her car was smashed and she was hurt some what. She called Sloan her friend to send an ambulance. In the mean time a lady stopped to help her. She never made it home. But where was she. Two other women have gone missing too. All of them ended up in the same room eventually. They tried to get out but unexpected things happened. Cant say anymore because that would give away the good part.
As a fan of Cheryl Bradshaw and the Sloane Monroe series, I enjoyed this short story. Maddie, Sloane's best friend has been online dating, and disappears after a date. Sloane races against time to figure out who done it, and meanwhile, brave Maddie tries to save herself from her abductor. While I enjoyed the story, it I found it a bit too short. (Reviewer was gifted an advance reader copy)
This Novella is about Sloanes friend Madison, or Maddie as her friends call her. It starts with Maddie out to dinner with Brandon, a blind date that wasn't going well. When he got up to use the bathroom, Maddie took the opportunity to leave but he confronted her before she got in her car. The evening continues to get worse! Maddie ends up getting into a situation that could be deadly. Will Sloane be able to help her friend in time? You won't want to stop reading!
This is a short story. I was surprised. I even went back to check to see if I had skipped some chapters accidently. I hadn't. It is just a short story.
Sloan's best friend Maddie was kidnapped along with two other women. Sloan and Coop have to figure out why they were kidnapped and who would kidnap them.
I gave the book a five star. Even though it was a short story, I thought it was good.
This book was fine, if a little confusing. I hadn't read the first book and this one just drops you straight in without any recapping. There's a character named Sloane who is a detective and the victim, Maddie. There is zero info about Maddie other than the fact that she's best friends with Sloane. If Sloane is the titular character, and reading the title of the book I'm guessing that she is, why does she have so little page time?
I just love this talented author. Her writing is done so well and she always has a great mystery to spin for us sleuth lovers. This time Sloane's friend Maddy is in trouble. It's definitely crunch time while Sloane tries to figure out what has happened to her. A quick read that you won't want to end.
Book 2 in the Deadly Sins series is another winner! These short books are great additions to the amazing Sloane Monroe book series. Ms. Bradshaw features one of Sloane's best friends, Maddie, in this mystery and the story will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. Highly recommend this book, and while you're reading, keep going with the entire Sloane Monroe series!
Deadly Sins: Wrath is the second book in the Sloane Monroe Stories series. This is a fast-paced story that will have you on the edge of your seat trying to find out what will happen next. Sloane's best friend, Maddie, is part of the mystery that she will be solving. Will she find the answers before it is too late? This was a captivating story!
A great sloane monroe novella. This book kept me reading from start to finish. Sloane's friend Maddie goes missing after a bad date, Sloane steps in to help in the investigation to find her friend. I did not see or expect the twist at the end. I was not able to put this book down once I started it. A very fast read. I only wish it would have been longer.
I absolutely love the Sloane Monroe series. And this story does not let you down, it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. Usually, shorter books like this leave me feeling like I needed more, but this one was quite satisfying. Maddie is a great, strong character who I really enjoyed reading more about.
The second book in a series and yet I still can't understand nor characterize Sloane. She could be replaced for any other minor character, any friend of the victims could provide the main leading evidence for what happened to the girls. Maybe the books are too short or to fast to help the reader form any kind of connection to the main lead. The plot itself was good.
Another amazing story from Cheryl. When Maddy disappears after a bad date Sloane has to figure out where she was taken and by whom before time runs out. Great story with some twists that will keep you on edge. Highly recommended.
I absolutely loved it. I was surprised at the way it ended. Cheryl Bradshaw is an amazing author. The only thing I didn't like was that it ended too soon. Cheryl has a way of leaving her readers wanting more.
Loved this book Maddie has gone missing but who could have taken her the last date she had you have to read it to find out Cheryl is such an awesome story tell her you cannot put her books down till they're done
A great storyline about Maddie, Sloane and friends. Maddie get kidnapped along with two other women by a very sicko woman, who wants to hurt and maybe kill them. Sloane, Nick and Coop must find them before anything happens.
This is a short! (Novella) but still with Sloane Monroe characters! Bradshaw is my favorite mystery author. What I love most about Bradshaw's books, is that they move quickly. Easy to get hooked, and not want to put them down.
What a great story line... as much as this is fiction I feel like this is something we could all relate to with dating nowadays.. something to keep you wanting to know the next in the deadly sins series.
For a short story, this one was fair. Probably would have made a good full-length book. This short story just seem to scratch the surface. But, guess that’s what you should expect in so few pages
In this short Sloane Monroe mystery, her friend, Maddie is abducted after an accident. But who took her? And why? Working with Coop and Nick, the local cops, can Sloane find Maddie in time? Or is it too late? Read it, and find out. You'll be glad you did!
Deadly Sins: Wrath left me wanting to know more!!! Very intriguing albeit a short read. I love the way Cheryl gets me totally absorbed in the characters!
A fast paced story with a surprise ending. Love Sloane and Maddy. And that sheriff just cracks me up. The short stories about the seven deadly sins are must reads!
