Malorie Cooper likes to think of herself as a dreamer and a wanderer, yet her feet are firmly grounded in reality.

A ‘maker’ from an early age, Malorie loves to craft things, from furniture, to cosplay costumes, to a well-spun tale, she can’t help but to create new things every day.

A rare extrovert writer, she loves to hang out with readers and people in general. If you meet her at a convention, she just might be rocking a catsuit, cosplaying one of her own characters, or maybe her latest favorite from Overwatch!

She shares her home with a brilliant young girl, her wonderful wife (who also writes), a cat that chirps at birds, a never-ending list of things she would like to build, and ideas…

Now Things Get Really Interesting

Really pushing a 5 star rating here. Let’s say 4.5, if I could do half stars.
The pacing is stellar. Plenty of action to keep the excitement up. The multiple story lines are handled well, and the characters continue to evolve.
There is a lot of tech in this series, but Mr. Cooper has found a good balance of explaining it just enough so the reader gets the concept, without hurting our brains.
I always look forward to the next Aeon 14 book, but this one has left me even more excited than usual.

Author M.D. Cooper brings us the next chapter in the ongoing Orion War. The I2 carrying Tanis and Sara arrive at the Scipio Empire's homeworld. There they are meet by the Empress Diana and are first told that they need to wait for the Empress to see them in her royal court. Once Diana dose she is told that both Tanis and Sara are not from the Alliance that the Hand operative had been told to tell them where she was from. Compounding everything is Elina, Sara's former lover and spy for the Orion Guard that want to kill Diana along with Sara so they can end their civil war. But while this is going on Tanis and Angela's youngest daughter the AI, Feelena along with her two sisters find out and help one of their oldest friends. Tanis and Sara are invited to a party where things go out of hand and Diana is kidnapped. Tains in her Samus (Metoride) costume go and rescue Diana. That's only the tip of the ice burg and yes the Titanic reference is needed for this book as Sara, Tanis, and Diana find out that their enemies changed the course of the I2 long before it left the Sol system. I highly recommend this book to all science fiction fans. I'm looking forward to the next in the series where we see Rika again.

I am going to give the next book a shot. The last book was the best so far until the end when the author decided to create, what felt like 20 story lines all to read in separate series. As I feared, that lack of focus impacted this book and the story is now disjointed and less pleasurable. Especially with a cast of characters that was already nearly impossible to keep track of.

On another note. Please, please get an editor. The stories overall are enjoyable but the pre are some serious errors that drive me nuts. Most glaring is using words incorrectly and confusing the reader. The one that keeps being repeated is the word “nominal”. Nominal is NOT interchangeable with normal as used repeatedly in this series.

If the next book is as desperately disorganized and feels, as this one does, like a sweater rapidly coming apart I will call it quits and move on.

Plots resolved and more revealed. The action is still good. The main plot of this book is done in when Tanis and Sara arrive. The other plots that happen in this book get resolved in the last few chapters but many of them leave more questions. I think I may need an AI to keep up with all the subplots if this happens in future books. Overall it was still a good read even though it feels like a filler novel.

The story continues

Tanis and Sera never have it easy, jumping from one battle to the next. The girls also find themselves in a battle with the caretaker who is using Nance. But he finds that Cary, Saanvi and Faleena is a lot strong then he though. Looking forward to reading more.

Another fun adventure with Tanis and crew.

This was shorter than some of the others in the series, but still a fast-paced and very enjoyable read. It tied up a few lose ends, but also opened up a few more cans of worms. Don't read it as a standalone, but it's great as part of the series.

Another great Aeon 14 book.

As I read and re-read the Aeon stories it just gets better and better. This is the second time I read this one and I can remember how awesome it was to read it the first time. Now more details of the past and future are clearer. Thank you. Space, adventure, wins and losses it all helps to make life easier to deal with.

Honey, where is my super (super) suit.

Love the story, the confusion, seems apt. for the tech. I see character development that makes sense but ... supersuit: supersupersuit, supersuit+ is getting like a crutch without explanation. Maybe I missed it. Yes, history fans the dates are important! Looking forward to the mystery of the story unfolding!

Wild and crazy! It was supposed to be a simple trip to convince Empress Diana of the Scipio Alliance to join up with The Transcend against the bad guys. Of course, when Tanis and Sera are involved nothing is ever simple. Great story, great characters. Bravo!

I cannot get enough of the Aeon 14 universe.even though it does cause me to lose sleep and neglect the housework. It is worth it to read such fabulous books.

A work of art

If I could have any wish it would to be to have this set of books to be made into movies.

Eh, could be better could be worse. If it wasn’t being removed from being included with the Audible subscription I would probably finish the series, but it’s not worth a token or purchasing.

Good story felt it needed editing though this is the far future so the meaning of certain words probably changed. Like the word queer through the centuries.

A change of pace from the last book, as we move on from the massive battle fought in that one. However, certainly not to the detriment of the book. Compared to other books in the series, seemed similar to Outsystem in terms of pace, and the movement from one engagement to another while progressing their overall plan. Tanis and Sera make a good team in this book, like they were in Destiny Lost, though happily with less secrets between them. Meanwhile we see more of what is happening back in New Canaan, with some of the characters making long awaited discoveries of their own, closing some threads but highlighting the sheer scope of what is going on.

Cooper still uses Tanis's terrible security to generate a lot of the tension. There's really no excuse for her to be so bad at this stuff after so long.

Don't ask too many questions about why finalizing the alliance requires that Tanis leave her guards behind and attend a costume party dressed as Samus Aran. The answer, obviously, is that it's an opportunity for her to be ambushed.

There's still ridiclous zero-kill stuff, like when, instead of shooting a hostile attacker, one character says this: “Stay down if you don’t want to see what your brain looks like going through your eyeballs.”
