A penny dreadful. I didn't enjoy the writer's style too many short sentences and unnecessary details. The protagonist was cliched and not believable ( and yes, I have met someone in this trade ). The only reason I even continued reading was it helped my insomnia.

Josh is a killer-for-hire. On a job to assassinate a scientist he finds her already dead and her son in the house. He realises this is more than he bargained for and so begins the hunt for those who would kill to get their hands on biological weapons. I found this difficult to get into and couldn't really get on with the author's writing style and habit of over-explaining everything.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book as the book lists itself as ‘ a gripping espionage thriller’,not the kind of book I would normally read or have much interest in.....however I was glad I stepped out of my ‘comfort book zone’ as in a word, well 4, ‘this book was awesome’!!!
It was like being in an episode of ‘24’ or similar, the action so fast paced and relentless it really convinced you that you were part of the story and the action....
Basically the story starts as assasin, Josh, goes to carry out a ‘job’ however he finds someone has beaten him to it, he makes a startling discovery which then leads to a frantic race against time to save the world! Sounds dramatic, well it is!!! .
The story is full of high tension twists and turns that never stop, right until the very last sentence.
Terrorists, Mossad Operatives, Russians, Secrets, wayward family members, dark operatives, murder, intrigue and suspense can be a complicated and heady mix for a film never mind a book but the author manages with their easy descriptive style and great characters to keep you in control of what is happening and to follow every development.
Characters that you think unlikeable will challenge your perceptions of them, you also meet treatcherous, evil, scary, intriguing and OTT characters,all are portrayed wonderfully and in an instant you can picture them
Expect a fast paced ever changing book that you will find hard to resist turning that next page over
I really recommend this book and especially if you think like me that its ‘not my kind of book’ as I am so glad I decided to give it a go
I really look forward to reading more from this author 10/10 5 stars

A fast-paced story with an enigmatic male anti-hero and lots of action. Vividly depicted characters. The setting is described in great detail making it easy to imagine, giving the story its authenticity. A well-written first chapter draws you in. An easy read and hard to put down. I read this in a few hours. The plot is good, but I did work out the twist about half-way through. Knowing the villain didn't spoil the story for me as I enjoyed having my theories confirmed.
A good contemporary thriller, which combines, spy action, psychological thrills, technology, and a forbidden relationship. I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series 'Final Target'.

An assassin is on an assignment to murder a scientist, but when he arrives she is already dead.

The central character was a bit wet to be believed – do assassins really get all sensitive about seeing people die? The constant explanation of everything that was happening was a bit annoying.

Began promisingly but while it was never terrible it was over long, over elaborate, and contained some very dubious science. I should have been surprised that this was published by a major player like Collins, but in fact know that there is little effective critical editorial input in most non-specialised publishers nowadays

I was really looking forward to this book, but lately I haven't had the motivation to finish any books.
I'm sorry to the people who loved this book, I usually can finish a thriller book within seconds but I'm currently having a reading block. One day I'll come back to this book.

Heb dit boek niet uitgelezen omdat het mij niet interesseertom te lezen over assassins en dat wetenschappers geheimen hebben over virussen die ze kunnen wekken. Het verhaal gaat mij veel te traag verder zonder enige spanning dat ik steeds de neiging heb om het weg te leggen dan verder te lezen.
