I've never heard of the Magic Charm Books, which this is apparently the 7th volume of.
I don't know how my 2 1/2 year old daughter got a copy of this. I just opened a box of books she'd been given when she was too young to not damage books and so we only let her have board books. This was in the box and she fell in love, asking me to read it to her repeatedly.
The unnamed little girl has just moved and so has no friends. She finds a stray retriever whose owners are going to stop taking care of him to move into a no-pets apartment, and the dog fetches her a human friend. Very cute.
