In the fourth book in this fast-paced series, Tag, Skyla, and Blaze continue their journey in search of the next piece of the Ember Stone. The magical map leads them across the poisonous Bubbling Bog, all the way to the fairy-filled Lullaby Lake. As they travel east though, the friends are also moving closer and closer to Thorn's dark territory. What will happen when Tag finally comes face-to-face with his enemy?

{My thoughts} – Tag, SKyla and Blaze are on another adventure. They are off to get all the pieces of the ember stone so that they can get it put back together as quickly as possible. They need the stone in one piece so that they can use it to attempt to defeat Thorne. They are not sure they will have an opportunity to be successful if they do not get the stone.
The new adventure takes the to Lullaby Lake. The three friends quickly learn that things are definitely different at the lake. There are some feisty fairy people that live under the water, that were charged with the sole responsibility to keep all evil and bad away from the stone that they have.
Will they give the three friends the other piece of the stone? Will they be able to defeat Thorne? Only time and some more reading will tell.
I think this is a great series and that any children will enjoy adding it to the library. I think that it is a fast paced, easy to comprehend series. The only downfall is that I think in order to follow the story line that it is essential to begin the series at the beginning.
LULLABY LAKE is the fourth installment in The Last Firehawk series. Tag, Skyla, and Blaze are trying to find all of the pieces of the Ember Stone. It's the only way to defeat the evil vulture named Thorn and save all of Perodia.
Their search leads them to Lullaby Lake where they're confronted by Thorn and wind up losing their piece of the Ember Stone as it falls into the water. Every time they try to retrieve it, Tag, Skyla, and Blaze all fall asleep for some unknown reason. They soon learn that someone's protecting the lake.
Tag, Skyla, and Blaze all work together and each of them have their own role to play in their adventure. I love the teamwork, courage, and friendship that they display. This chapter book was full of fantasy and adventure and I look forward to the next one! This is perfect for early readers.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this book to children aged six and up who enjoy animals, adventure, and fantasy. I even liked it as an adult.
This fourth book in the series is my favorite so far. In this book, Tag and his friends must confront Thorn himself. When Thorn flies off with the Ember Stone, Tag and his friends fight desperately to get it back. The Stone gets dropped into Lullaby Lake. Tag and his friends try to retrieve the Stone, but something keeps putting them to sleep preventing them from doing so. They eventually discover that the lake is watched over by a group of nixies who are determined to protect the lake and keep the stone. Will they be able to get the Stone back before Thorn returns with more of his army? The tension in this book has gone up a bit since the last book. But it's not too scary for young readers/listeners. The adventures are a bit more interesting as well. This is a good series for young fantasy lovers who aren't ready for longer more detailed reads.
The Last Firehawk books are a wonderful series for both boys and girls that enjoy animals, magic, mystery, and adventure. This a classic tale of two friends who go on a journey to help defeat evil, save their home and protect the last firehawk.
The trio's quest for the missing pieces of the Ember Stone continues, this time bringing them in direct conflict with the evil Thorn himself at the edge of Lullaby Lake. Luckily, they also make some new friends...
Fun. I've been reading this series for a while now and as most Branches books, it gets a little derivative. Cuz each one is "go from here", "go through this trouble", "do a little dance from here to here."
Our heroes have a direct encounter with Thorn, during which their collected pieces of the Ember Stone fall into Lullaby Lake, where a mysterious song puts everyone to sleep.
My children are really enjoying this series! We joined our heroes at Lullaby Lake to find another piece of the ember stone. This one had an adorable sloth and water fairies – both of which were a lot of fun!
