2.25 Stars!

This book was kinda meh, I mean, at least Gabby’s book was fun (even though I didn’t think it was very good).

Details that were relevant to me, even though overall this is such a forgettable book:
=Monica’s design is not the worst, it’s just a little blah and doesn’t really fit the theme.
-This was the first Jack Frost rhyme with the fairies’ names in it, which was kind of cool.
-One of Rachel’s cutest outfits and a Kirsty look that should be burned.
-I’ve never read the Sugar and Spice Fairies series, but I love that it was mentioned because I know the two series are connected.
-The girls holding hands as they spin around is objectively cute.
-We’re literally on page 4, why is Monica here already?
-Literally what was the point of Monica having the girls sit on the bed as she turned them into fairies and took them to Fairyland? It was so weird.
-Oh my god, Honey the Candy Fairy and Lizzie the Sweet Treats Fairy, what a throwback!
-I loved the candy tree, it’s such a fun and whimsical concept.
-We don’t need to feed Jack Frost’s ego by calling him ‘Ice Lord’ and especially not when he’s causing problems because he’s greedy.
-The goblins trying to use the magic marshmallow to make Bogmallows absolutely makes, I don’t know I didn’t clock that before the book explained it to me.
-Everyone making the goblins feel welcome when they sat around the fire was very sweet, especially since I know their Bogmallows probably smelled like shit.
-I also like this B-plot of picking a kid each day to win a big candy prize because they’re simply kind and helpful. (They did this in Gabby’s book as well!)
-I liked the scene of Monica teaching the girls how to use marshmallows to make taffy.

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

I thought that Monica the Marshmallow Fairy was good. It wasn't a favorite but, I did still like it.
The Goblins have Monica the Marshmallow Fairy's magical object (A marshmallow).
They are having trouble trying to figure out this situation! The Goblins are throeing marshmallows everywhere. Then Monica the Marshmallow Fairy brings up Bogmallows, which Goblins like and gets Monica the Marshmallow Fairy's magical object and save the Candy Land Factory and Ori's marshmallows in time for a celebration.
Thanks to Kristy and Rachel for there great ideas.

My 2nd grader provided this review. “3 stars. It’s not as awful as a 2 star because they go somewhere besides the human world. They go to Fairyland. There were goblins who stole the magic treats and tried to get away with the magic marshmallow, but they didn’t.”

She started the Rainbow Magic series in 1st grade and recommends it to Kindergarten to 2nd graders. She says that the words are easy to read.

It’s about two girls named Kirsty and Rachel helping Monica. Monica is a fairy who loves marshmallows but Jack Frost stole ONE magical object. The magical object is the magical, sparkly marshmallow. My favorite part of this book is when the marshmallows turned back to normal because the marshmallows looked really DELICIOUS!!!

I liked this book. I thought it was nice how the girls ended up treating the goblins. This is an AR book for anyone that might want to know. This is a good book for those at the end of first grade and into second grade.

E liked it and wants to read more. I thought it was meh. Also, even though this is book 1, there seems to be some back story that we don’t know about so I’m wondering if there is another series or book that predates this one??
