The good news: This book was better than the first book. The bad news: Not by much. The story did a much better job at keeping me intrigued and moved along at a nice pace. The main character, however, just dragged everything down with her.

Mina seems to be getting worse. She over complicates things that shouldn't require all that much to deal with. Mina is unreasonably overprotective of her sister but only knows how to bad mouth her when she gets a puppy. Mina second guesses her so-called relationship with Alec but can't bring herself to step back and evaluate her feelings for Eli. Mina has proven to be dense and too stupid to live at this point.

Eli was great in this novel. He was the perfect amount of understanding and caring towards Mina. When things hit the fan he's there taking charge to deal with it. At this point, I think he'd be better off without her.

I still dislike Alec. A few of his friends are creeps and he still hangs around them. He doesn't mesh with the paranormal side to this story and, for the most part, gets left behind in the dust or has a scene or two weaved in for the sake of it.

This novel did a great job at getting me hooked on the mystery. Though I saw the ending coming from a mile away and it was also too convenient I still want to know what happens next. I wonder how many books Alec will last at this rate.

The Audio Book:

I'm still not a fan of this narrator. Nicole naturally reads slowly and loves to pause at weird intervals in sentences. I listened to this audio book sped up to 1.25 and her voice sounded normal (and that's coming from someone who doesn't necessarily love speeding up audio books). I'm still hoping for a change in the narrator for future books in this series.

Moon Hunted by Jennifer Snyder a haunting five-star read. This is the second book in the Mirror Lake Wolves series and what a second instalment, it picks up after the first book leaves off. I loved that book and this one was just as good, you got to see a deeper level to the characters as we know them more now and know they have that level of depth that shows well written characters and a great talent with writing. The only negative I found with this book was aagghhh you want to give some people a shake with this book. Jennifer you know I love a good light romance and a will they won’t they, but I am team Eli all the way, the human is cute, but Eli is yummy and so well captured. There are so many twists and turns with this book and I can’t wait for book three what will be revealed and see what will happen next. I hope what I know happens and what I want to happen will happen but only time will tell.

Okay first off, Mina doesn't like dogs, therefore I don't like her. No really she doesn't like dogs! Or cats. I can understand not liking cats I guess but dogs?! Nope.

This book was short and sweet. I really wish Mina would loose the human though. Eli is so much better. Dating Alec is putting herself and her pack in danger because Alec is friends with Shane. I thought Alec was cute in the first book and honestly he was cute in this book too but I was hoping that she would go to Eli in this one.

There was one part in the book where Mina was an idiot and it kind of bothered me. If someone who you know is trying to cage you and your pack, it's probably not a great idea to accept a drink from him.. just saying.

Other than that one time where it truly bothered me how dumb she was being I really loved this book. I love the plot line. I love that there is a "friend" or really a friend of a friend trying to kidnap her or her pack. I think it is an interesting element in the story because it isn't some random character. I also love Eli and Mina. I think they are perfect and Mina needs to get with the program and see it!

I can not wait to get my hands on the next one!!

Lunatic Moon

In theory I'd like to go on with this. The plot isn't so bad, although it isn't original, nor is the writing itself but here comes the 'however'. As a YA character Zoe is immature and the plot becomes predictable and unrealistic, and for this reason I can't continue on with the series.

I finished this in March and I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to write a review because I absolutely loved it! Especially the last third of the book, holy cow! I’m dying to read the next one, which is sitting pretty on my shelf waiting for me to write this darn review haha.

What I also loved was that I read the first six chapters, easily lost in the world, but then I set it down and didn’t get back to it until a few weeks later. However, when I finally picked it up again I was able to start right back up where I left off and felt as if I was seeing an old friend. It was so easy for me to fall back into this world, easily remembering what happened in those first few chapters and that doesn’t happen often when I put a book down so that’s saying a lot about the world Jennifer has created!

Following Mina’s and Eli’s journey to finding out who’s hunting and taking their pack mates has me sitting on the edge of my seat! And like I said, the last third of this book, oh my gosh! From the first book I’ve been team Eli and this book just makes me even more smitten by him. They just work well together and I’m excited to see how their relationship grows! Sorry Alec, you’re a good guy but I just love those together haha.

Again, the romance and the action was well balanced! It was easy for me to get lost in the world and I was able to finish this book in two days! That’s rare for me, usually takes a few weeks these days haha. If you loved the first book and have yet to read this one, what are you waiting for?!!

***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

Jennifer Snyder has done it again with another amazing book! I am head over heels in love with this series! When I was in a funk for finding new books to enjoy, the first book in this series popped out! I am so happy it did!

This book picks up right where it left off. I am still totally team Eli. Ugh he made me swoon even more. He is so in love with Mina and everyone else can see this but for some reason she is trying to fight it. I think they are soulmates and that would explain the pull between them.

As for Alec.... I still don't feel the chemistry between him and Mina. I know she likes him and calls him her boyfriend, but I feel like Eli is more of the boyfriend. Plus, I don't think she would ever tell Alec about her being a wolf. If she ever did, I think he would run for the hills or think differently of her.

I read through this book too quickly. I am already waiting on book 3! When will it be out Jennifer?

Loved this Book, while Mina and Eli want you to knock their heads together and make them get with the program lol. Jennifer wrote an awesome read and it picks up right where moon kissed left off. The story has some twists and turns and danger is lurking all around for this werewolf community. tgis is a fun series, the characters are loveable and quirky at the same time strong and dominant. Some questions from the previous book are answered but new questions need to be answered. The Journey with Eli the hot dominant were and Mina is filled with sexual energy as well as danger. Great read, I highly recommend.

Unfortunately, even at 65%, hadn’t advanced from book one. Alpha heir, Eli is (still) waiting for clueless 18-year-old Mina’ to realize he’s her ‘mate’ (a common trope in shifter romance not discussed here); Mina returns Eli’s feelings but doesn’t understand why and insists her human boyfriend, Alec, will help maintain her humanity (hmmm, really?); Mina found out Alec’s BFF hunts shiftersuf6, suspects her and a pair of her packmates are missing but she isn’t clear why she can’t tell Ale much. I have no idea why or if I should complete this series, someone clearly missed something here!

Still Team Eli

I love the way this series is progressing. I am seriously hoping that Mina picks Eli! Love the turn the action takes and I still love how it feels like a normal girls life who happens to be a werewolf and falls into some trouble.

Mina is going through a little stubborn streak, but I still really like her as a character and I can't wait to read more about her and the pack. And Eli, definitely Eli.

Great!

Now it's getting more and more exciting! What's gonna happen now that's she's getting closer to Eli?! I think their mates and that's the feeling she's been fighting. And omg the house scene wow rescuing violet, I would shot that punk if I were her. But Eli had to do what he to do. Now to get them all!! Human savages

Better than the first if possible!

Again the authors writing style is unique and creative. She invented a beautiful supernatural world in a town that has a few haters living in it. I fall more in love with Eli's character but still hope things with Alec might work out. I love how strong Mina is even when she is quiet scared. Glad they found Violet and the ending was sweet.

There is a lot of mystery and action going on throughout the audiobook. The romance keeps getting pushed to the side but the mystery and intrigue keep you hooked. I am really enjoying these characters and the excellent narrator. I am already looking for book 3! I was given this audiobook by my request in exchange for an honest review from getfreeaudiobooks.com.

I was craving to read a werewolf series & this series was more than expected. Lots of supernatural twists & suspense thrown in.

It kind of reminds me of Twilight which I was a huge fan of the books not movies.

Good second book. Was pretty short but a very enjoyable read! I’m a little frustrated that the main girl still hasn’t broken up with the human guy but I’m just impatient 🤷‍♀️

Its not often that I write a review, mostly because the stars are pretty straight forward. The book has a rating 4/5 then I read it and its worth that, so I give the same rating.
This book not so much, I am making my comment on the second in the series because I was hoping it would get better...
In this review I will be talking about both the first and second book.
Negative:
AN EDITOR! - Oh my goodness, I can handle spelling mistakes, punctuation errors, but these books miss whole words. When I have to pause and reread the sentence or paragraph to try to find the word that's missing and add it in. You know its bad...
The scenes - O.K. opening scene of book 1. What it says "The flickering letters in the sign hung above Eddie's bar pulsed with my heartbeat. Somehow, the strobing neon lights had become one of the things I could always count on never changing. There was another thing I could count on when it came to Eddie's too-Dad being shit-faced somewhere inside." What I'm picturing "mina standing outside looking up at the sign." What's actually happening. "She is sitting in her car watching the sign." You find out she's in her car 3 paragraphs later so I have to reread to get the proper picture in my head. This happens over and over again where the author describes the feelings/layout of the scene before telling me what the person is doing.
The pace - both books are fairly quick reads so I thought they would be fast paced, boy was I wrong. At one point they take the problem to someone else to ask for help but they are turned away. Eli says he will just have to handle it himself and mina says she knows he can do it. Well then why didn't you fix the problem 3 weeks ago when it first started and you wanted to handle it by yourself???
Positive:
It was a short novel (does that count?)
The Characters - They are not awful. Described well and have decent personalities so that was o.k.

Overall I hated the book and had to force myself to finish the last 20 pages of book 2. It left me on a cliffhanger but I hate the books too much to care.

This book was much better than the first one. We actually get a little more action concerning who is kidnapping pack members and what’s going to be done about it. Enter Eli, son of the Alpha, and swoon! I adore him and the patience he has for Mina because lord help me that girl is nerve wracking. Mina is like the epitome of a boy crazy horn dog. Geeze, it seems every time a guy looks her way it makes her skin tingle and stomach flutter. She’s put herself in the middle of a love triangle because of course she’s got it bad for two guys for two different reasons. For someone who waited on bated breath every month to see if she’d be moon kissed, she really is trying to hold on to her human world with all her might. Enter Alec, human boyfriend. Poor guy, whether he knows what’s going on with the community in the Mirror Lake trailer park or not, he just seems blissfully unaware. Mina should do the right thing and let Alec go. It’s not fair to him or Eli but she’s stubborn.

Still not a huge fan of the narrator but she does a better job with this book.

It was a short read, and the only exciting plot was the rescue mission. The scene, while they were inside the house for the rescue, had me holding my breath. Mina’s love interest bored me, and I wish she hurried up and let go of one of them as it’s inevitable.

I loved reading stories that are written in details as it helps connect to the character. However, I didn't find it in the story. There's some aspect left out without the action being completed, for instance, when Mina suddenly was able to buy her camping stuff without getting inside her house to get her 100 bucks in her drawer. I'm that observant 😁.

Anyway, surely in the next book we'll finally see Mina's decision about the boys? She better be!

I enjoyed this book a lot more for a few reasons.

There is a lot more happening, more to the story.

The chemistry between Eli and Mina is getting impossible to ignore .

And last of all this book didn’t just seem to end.... There was an ending! Not just running out of pages lol.

Can’t wait to carry on with book 3 :)

**Edit**
The part that violet is rescued... both Eli and Mina cleaned up and made it look as if Drew had taken a drunken fall and broke his neck, but it’s very obvious to the brother that someone in the pack had killed him as violet was taken. Did this not even occur to them ?
