SEVEN WEEKS. SEVEN LIVES. SEVEN STORIES.

Jane’s lying on her bed. It’s covered in a sheet of books and papers and notebooks and pens. Magna Carta, carbolic acid, carte blanche . . . She pulls the unopened SAT envelope from the pocket of her dirty jeans. Jane knows the score. She barely got the 200 for signing her name.

SEVEN YEARS AGO, A TRAGEDY TORE THEM APART. NOW, FATE WILL BRING THEM BACK TOGETHER.

I didn't really like this book as much because it would change scenes really suddenly and you didn't know who's part it was. Also, at the end of the book, in the middle of an important part, it says "Then, for the first time in days, Jane falls into a deep, deep sleep", and that's the end!! Come ON!!!!

Jane is getting ever closer to a nervous breakdown. Karyn tells Reed that his sister, Emily, was in a car accident the previous night. Jeremy's father gets mad at him and blames him, saying he should have been there, totally overlooking the fact that Jeremy left home over the yelling his father was doing about his being gay. Danny's parents get mad at him when he tells them he went off his meds.

They finally do have a half-decent conversation, though. Danny ends up with a suspension instead of an expulsion. Jane snaps at Peter. Jane gets her SAT scores, and she totally tanked them. (It's actually her rebellion against the incredible pressures her parents and others have put on her to be the perfect student.)

A really good fourth book in the series.

I enjoyed this book a little more than the previous. I could connect a bit more with Jane on a personal level than I have been with the other characters. That is usually the case for me though when band is involved, as it is something that was a large part of my life for many years. Still having issues with the parents, however I am glad that it seems Jane is actually doing something to make her parents understand what she's feeling rather than just lashing out.

A solid three star read for me though the story still hasn't wowed me.
