Screw Manny and his greed. He could find someone else to pander to the rich jerk, I was out.

He waved away my question as if I were naive. “Nothing is private, sweetheart. I can get everything I need to know about you with the push of a button. Temporary is a sexy billionaire romance. I've read a lot of billionaire romances, some good, some not so good, and Temporary rates in the good category. I've read a couple of the other Buchanan books in this series, and they all follow this same trope: damaged billionaire with feisty, but sweet heroine who brings the billionaire to his knees. So nothing too original here, but Temporary is executed fairly well and the dynamic between Gage and Mari is hot.
Mari is a fuck-up and she knows it. She's the black sheep of her family, the not so good twin. She moved out of her small town to New York to experience something different. But she hasn't had any success in her chosen field - acting, so she's a waitress at a dive bar. It's in this dive bar where she'll get the proposition of her life by Gage, damaged billionaire who takes one look at Mari and wants her. So he tries to get her to enjoy a drink with him, but she turns him down. She's had enough of gorgeous guys, all they do is bring her heartache like her douche ex, who siphoned off her bank account, cheated on her, and is suing her for custody of HER cat. So she has no desire for the pain that another gorgeous guy will bring her. But, when Gage buys out the entire bar for one night just so he can have a drink with her, and he proposes that he pay her a fat amount for 24 hours of her time, who is she to say no? She can't possibly say no to all that money. All that money that will keep her off the streets where she's sure to land because she hasn't made enough this month to pay rent. All that money that will give her a better life and will keep her ex off her back.
But, Gage has secrets and he's got lots of issues that have left him a damaged man with walls stronger than Fort Knox. Will Mari be able to see past his walls and help him deal with his issues? Will she stick by him even when he turns into a cold, cruel asshole?
I like Temporary. Gage and Mari are both engaging, likable characters, especially Mari. Their chemistry is smoking hot and electric. But, I found myself wishing for more between them. I wanted their bond to be stronger, and more developed. Temporary is a bit too insta-love for my tastes. Not so much on Gage's part, but definitely on Mari's part. I didn't quite believe in the big L between them. Attraction? Sure. Lust? Sure. Passion? Definitely. But Love? Not so much. Perhaps if Temporary were longer, and they were given more time to develop their feelings, develop their relationship, then I could have believed in the strength of the feelings they professed to have for each other. But, as it's written I just saw lots of lust and not much else. Still, because I ended up liking them both, and found Gage's backstory especially to be so interesting, I had to give Temporary 4 stars instead of the 3 it might have deserved for shortchanging the development of their relationship.

I loved this new one from Alexx Andria! Leave it to her to write a steamy and very sexy novel with lots of heart as well and some intensely emotional moments. Although there are plenty of "rich-guy-pays-for-night-with-girl" type books out there...this one was so well written that it felt like a new story and not one that I've read before. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to my romance reading friends everywhere.

What a surprise with this book. It wasn't what I was expecting. Most billionaire stories like to take control of everything. He does get to control that part he wants to control. Their agreement is only temporary until she learns more about him. Then the control is shifted to her. A heart warming story that you should read. Well written and good characters. It did seam a little short, wanted more.

4.5 SCORCHING HOT STARS!

Wowwwww!! I absolutely loved TEMPORARY by Alexx Andria. This is the second book I have read by this author, and while this billionaire bad boy romance is not dark and gritty like PAYBACK was, it is just as addictive!
This is a spoiler free review but in essence this is a scandalous indecent proposal tale about dashing billionaire Gage Donnelly who saunters into Jimmy’s Tavern one night and can't keep his electric baby blues off of scrappy cocktail waitress Mari Jones. He wants to buy her a drink but she isn’t into gorgeous stalker types so she shoots him down. But he is a man on a mission and rents out the bar the following night to get that aforementioned drink. Mr. Enigmatic Stranger’s overbearing tactics both thrill and intimidate her but then he ups his game by making a nearly flat broke and practically homeless Mari a tempting offer she can't possibly refuse--a huge sum of money for a wild night of no-holds-barred sex with him.
"From this moment forward, until I release you…you are mine. Understand? Your body is mine to explore, touch and pleasure."
The catch? The arrangement is temporary. She will be his plaything for one night and one night only and she is forbidden to "catch feelings for him.” Sounds easy peasy right? Um… think again...because even though Mari has been burned in love by her lecherous ex, Landon, who wiped out her bank account AND is suing her for custody of her cat she finds herself hopelessly hooked on him after one toe-curling kiss. And there is something about the handsome, brooding billionaire that is eerily familiar which pulls at her heart and soul. She wants to unravel his secrets, and get to the bottom of why he is so closed off emotionally about his personal life yet is so hot blooded in the bedroom and so darn gentlemanly and sweet toward her. But rules are rules and by the time the night is through she might be walking away a whole lot richer but without her heart intact!
Oh My! TEMPORARY sucker punched me in the best possible way. Though on paper this may seem like a typical “one illicit night with the billionaire” trope it is SO. MUCH. MORE!! There’s so much heat and passion and emotional angst and tenderness it made my heart soar! I was swept up immediately into this fast-paced story and felt the insta-lust between Mari and her man of mystery down to my marrow. Gage is ohhhhhh so delicious! Hot, filthy rich, arrogant, aloof, bossy, domineering, and so, so broken inside. One moment you want him to ravish him, the next you want to kiss all his emotional boo-boos away.
And Mari, a small-town Cali girl whose dreams of striking it out on her own in the Big Apple have been an abysmal failure, is the perfect girl for him. She definitely gives as good as she gets and keeps Gage on his toes!! I LOVE her spirit and feistiness, her caustic wit and acerbic self-depreciating humor, her sweetness and loyalty, and most of all, her humongous heart! She too is emotionally guarded, for good reason, but if there is one person who could make her lower her walls its Gage.
"I was a card-carrying cynic but in my secret heart of hearts, I still wanted to believe in love.”
My heart exalted and shattered for both these characters. I could not get enough of their lightning chemistry, their warmth and charm and humor, and there is fiery push-pull between them throughout. Mostly due to the fact that Gage bears horrible emotional scars. His past is riddled with so much sorrow and regret, and he feels unworthy of love, but our girl never gives up on her man whose sinfully sexy smirks and dirty domination turns her into a pile of mush. More than anything she wants to ease his pain and soothe his wounds but she has her own baggage. Did she want to take on his, too?
Ms. Andria is a master storyteller…she sucks you in with her engaging prose, delightful banter, torrid sensuality and deeply emotional tone. I definitely felt all the feels with this book….tickly butterflies, shivers, chills, heart palpitations…and all that jazz! The book is beautifully paced and there is a perfect balance of passion, pathos, humor and drama to keep you a captive audience!
The only thing that perhaps would have made this book even more stellar was if it was narrated in dual POV—I am a sucker for the male perspective and Alexx Andria writes a kick butt hero POV. But my theory is that the author took this approach to keep the reader in the dark about the hero’s past, which she accomplished quite well. And for the record, when the shocking truth comes out in an EXPLOSIVE showdown, brace yourself for an emotional battle zone that will decimate your heart and have you reaching for the tissues! So when all is said and done, no real complaints from my end!
Bottom line: If you have a hankering for a steamy bad boy billionaire romance that's chock full of juicy drama, blazing hot interludes, shocking secrets, heart throbbing emotion, delectable twists and turns, and a sigh worthy HEA, then add TEMPORARY to your TBR pronto!

Sometimes you find yourself at a low point in your life and you find yourself agreeing to something that can raise you out of the muck but it will cost you some self-respect. Then again living on the street may save the self-respect but it sure is no picnic.
We meet Mari, as she is cocktail waitressing at a dive bar. In walks a woman’s wet dream in the body of Gage. Mari is recovering from finding her ex being serviced by someone else in their apartment, so the walking dream could take a long walk off a short pier as far as she’s concerned. He asks to buy her a drink and she turns him down. When it appears he gave up from her first rebuff she is happy and miffed at the same time. However Gage is waiting for her outside the bar when she gets off work. After totally freaking her out, Mari figures Gage is now just a dot in her rear view.
The next night at work the bar is quiet and Gage is waiting for her to have that drink with him. He has done some digging into her life and me makes her an offer that she is having a hard time saying no to. After some soul searching Mari agrees to be his for twenty-four hours with no strings attached. The verbal foreplay gets them both amped and they dive right into a panty melting session right there in the bar. While Gage may say he wants no strings he is sending mixed signals with some of his actions. He wants to appear tough and cold but his feelings slip thru in unexpected ways.
The book is from Mari’s perspective; it would have been nice to get Gage’s point of view too, for me that always makes the characters more rounded. Gage is walking wounded and he lashes out at Mari at different times when she pushes him to reveal more of himself. Mari is also good at giving it back to him when he gets totally boorish. He does push her too far at one point and she retreats to regroup and figure out what direction to take her life in now that she has the financial means thanks to their agreement.
These two fight as hard as they love. While Mari’s walls are built from falling for the wrong guy, Gage’s guilt built his walls. There are sometimes when you just want to smack Gage for his crassness and other times you just want to tuck him in as he shows the little lost boy inside. Mari may come across tough but she is pretty much a marshmallow trying to find a direction in her life. Gage has a wound so deep Mari may not be able to help him climb out of the depths. Will Gage lower his walls and allow her love to help him get to a better place or will he push too hard and lose her forever?

This is the delicious fun that I have come to know from Alexx Andria! A dark hero and the fiesty girl... steamy sexy chemistry. Don't forget the wicked push and pull between said dark hero and his fiesty girl. Throw in a Buchanan or two and you have Temporary. Don't think that you're going to be able to read a little of this and walk away for a few hours. Oh no! This book kept pulling me back every time that I tried to walk away. The story is so well written and just so much fun to read that I didn't want to stop until I was done. I even found myself highlighting passages and sending them to my blog mates just so they could read the hot steamy, jaw dropping scenes right along with me!
Mari Jones is down on her luck. She's working in a dive bar in NYC, trying to make rent because her dead beat ex-boyfriend has stolen all of her money. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Mari is a down on her luck waitress in a bar called Jimmy's. He ex, Landon, has wiped out her bank account, cheated on her and is suing her for custody of her cat which he hates! In walks the hottest, billionaire, blue eyed, stud muffin called Gage, that she has ever seen and the more she talks to him the more familiar he seems to her. He propositions her to pay her for one night of passion and she, rightly, is insulted and walks off. He waits till she comes off work and tries again and now she is scared of him despite being attracted to his looks. The next night he hires the whole bar and asks her again with an offer she cannot refuse. The one condition being that she cannot grow feelings for him. Mari is conflicted as she desperately needs money but is also so insulted whilst also fancying him. What's a woman to do? No spoilers here. There are so many twists and turns in this book and such wonderfully developed characters and a fantastic surprise of one of the Buchannan brothers just as an extra treat for you too from a previous book. Gage has so much guilt that I certainly did feel so very sorry for him as he seems so broken. Maris appears to be tough on the outside but beneath it all she is so compassionate and loving but is it enough to "heal" Gage? You will only find out if you read the story. Beautifully written by Alexx Andria with such sensitivity and passion. You may even need tissues whilst reading as well as a fan reading the steamy scenes.. One brilliantly written book that I encourage you to read if you like passion, love and mysteries stories.

Her ex-boyfriend is a douchebag, she caught him getting a blow job in her apartment and if that wasn't bad enough he cleaned out their bank account (which was mostly her money) and he is suing her for custody of her cat. Gage is a broody self made billionaire who believes everything and everyone can be bought. He tries to buy Mari a drink and she says thanks but no thanks. She goes to work the next night to find out that Gage has rented the entire bar so he can have a drink with Mari. He also tells her he wants her and she just needs to name her price. Mari is offended, but Gage is persistent and makes her an offer she just can't refuse. This story is a rollercoaster ride of emotions and has twists and turns to keep you interested. But Gage has secrets and he also tells Mari not to catch feelings for him because as soon as he's bored with her he'll let her go. Will Gage's secrets be to much for Mari? What happens when she catches feelings for him and knows he has feelings for her but he just won't admit it. Is her love for him enough to get them through this or will the brooding billionaire treat her like a cheap whore and send Mari running for the hills. Great book and definitely a must read.

This was the story of Gabe, a billionaire with secrets and Mari, a young woman who worked at a dive bar in New York. One night Gabe enters the bar and wants to buy Mari a drink, but she refuses. After her shift, Gabe approaches her again, and she tells him she isn't interested. The next night, Mari arrives at work to find Gabe has paid to close the bar to everyone except him and Mari. Gabe offers Mari a great deal of money to spend the night with him and she reluctantly accepts. After their night, they part ways, only Mari has developed feeling for Gabe and wants to know why he is so mysterious. Gabe has secrets that may be his downfall and Mari wants to know what they are. This was a good book that I would recommend to anyone. It does have some questions that make you wonder but they all get answered and it has some steamy scenes too. Good one

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book. Alexx Andria does it again! Temporary is the story of Mari Jones and Gage Donnelly a fun and sexy romance. I really enjoyed reading this book. I couldn't put this book down and needed to know what happened at the end, LOVE IT!!!!! Mari is a sassy smart broken girl after her boyfriend cheats on her. Gage is a sexy alpha billionaire with a lots of secrets from the past. They met one night in a dive bar and then he makes her an indecent proposal, she agrees but there's one simple rule, no feelings! What happens next, when Mari broke the only rule he had and develop feelings for him? The plot is very well written and full of drama, lots of secrets, steamy sex, fascinating characters like Reed Buchanan, some twist and a very sizzling hot romance. A must read from Alexx Andria!!!

A well written romance story with the main characters Gage and Mari. Gage is a billionaire that is physically broken from his past and relationships. He meets Mari that is broke and they make an agreement that is only temporary. She has to do want he wants her to do. Both main characters is a their lowest in life. That is what they feel and they need each other in different ways. Can the help the other to a better life and then leave without feelings and attachment?
This story has a dark side to it. There are twists, laughs, sighs, emotional ups and downs. I would have liked the story to be told in dual POV to the thoughts and feelings of both main characters. But I like the story and it flows well of the pages. The chemistry is great and the pair suits each other.
I can only recommend this book.

I consider myself to have an active imagination. So its not very hard for me to visualize the stories as i read them. What is hard for me at times is to get emotionally attached to a character. I found myself having a soul connection with Mari. I felt her emotions. I laughed and cried with her. I felt her pain and confusion. I was just as frustrated with the people in her life as she was. I wanted to help her fight her battles. And then comes the whirlwind better known as Gage...the adventure has now begun. Life couldnt get anymore crazy and complicated than when these two come together in the same space. Talk about a rollercoaster ride! This book really spoke to me and i thank the awesomeness that is Ms. Alexx Andria for writing it!! I couldnt put this book down. I had to know what happened page after page.

Alexx does it once more with her latest work. From page one I was entranced with Gage. Oh my God, what an alpha! He and Mari were a perfect match. Even if their lives were not so perfect. Who knew how deep Gage's pain was? But it didn't deter from his sexiness, it made him human. Read until I got tired and then finished before I got out of bed in the morning. I just had to finish it before starting my day. It was also good to touch base with one of the Buchanans. Gotta love those Buchanans.I also loved the New York City backdrop. I am a born and bred New Yorker, so the setting in the New York Botanical Garden was an added touch that helped me relate to the characters. I give this book my thumbs up seal of approval. I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Temporary is a hot and steamy story by Alexx Andria.
This story caught my attention from the very beginning and didn't let go until the end. It was fast paced and entertaining read. I loved the chemistry and sexual tension between Gage Rochester and Mari Jones. Gage is tall with broad shoulders, dark hair and a chiseled jaw. Mari is sexy as sin. She is bold, sassy, and isn't afraid to say what she thinks or feels. The storyline was great and the secrets just added to the drama of the story. These characters are well written and very entertaining, which just add to this beautiful written story by Alexx Andria

Mari is working at a bar, and can barely make ends, when she meets Gage...a rich dude...who offers her an obscene amount of $$$ to be with him for a while and to do whatever he wants. Mari agrees and they immediately consummate the agreement. They have a 'thing' for a while then, when Mari starts to have feelings for Gage, he pushes her away...so she leaves and heads home to CA. Meanwhile, Gage's demons have a stranglehold on him and he is spiraling into darkness. One of his friends reaches out to Mari asking for her help...will she go to Gage or leave him? This was a good story, albeit a bit dark. There is an HEA.

What a ride! This story starts out in familiar territory - rich guy wants no-strings-attached sex with the poor waitress and he's willing to pay her life-changing money for it - but as the story unfolds it is so, so much more! Gage is haunted by events from his past, and Mari really has her job cut out for her trying to reach his inner soul - especially since she has to first convince herself he has one - but she's plucky and strong and rises to the occasion.
There is plenty of suspense and surprises, steamy scenes and hilarious dialogue, and more love than any two people should share. Mari works in a run down bar in New York called Jimmy's while their a customer offers to buy her a drink she refuses. The next night his back and brought the bar for the night. Mari wants to know what's going on, Gage introduced himself but she still wants nothing to do with him. As the night goes on Gage gives her a proposition, she thinks about ,in the end she takes it.Will she regrets it, Gage has a demon of his own will he overcome it. Its a fab read with lots going on x

I really enjoyed reading this story! It had great characters with Gage and Mari! I loved the sass that Mari has. She calls Gage out multiple times when he needs it. The story was a smooth read and so it went by quickly. Things do happen quickly but it works for the characters which is what matters. The sex is explicit and fits the characters and the story. There was enough going on with the relationship between the characters and trying to figure out what was up with Gage that I was engaged and entertained the entire time I read it. It was a fun read for me.

This book had me hooked! I couldn't stop reading til the very end. It turned out way better than I even expected.
Mari is a tough heroine. She left home looking for a better life, but all she's gotten so far is rotten luck. However, she refuses to let life totally take all the fight out of her. When she meets Gage, his persistence pushes past all her barriers and tunes her into his. I admired her tenacity for life, and for her willingness to call Gage out on his crap without backing down.
This is a fun, engaging read that I highly recommend!!

Temporary was a pleasant surprise for me. I was worried that it was another in a long line of books where the alpha male is a jerk and thinks he's Gods gift to women for 95% of the book with the female lead rolling over and taking whatever crumbs are dished out to her. Temporary wasn't like that. Gage tried to be the jerk but his like ability and caring peaked through more often than not. And Mari was great. She questioned and challenged him at almost every turn. I love how she gives it right back to him. Yeah he feels he's broken but I like how the storyline played out. Thanks for the pleasant surprise.

Whirling Dervish of Emotions! What starts out as an Indecent Proposal that is supposed to be emotional less, is like a rumbling earthquake. All of these feelings and needs, buried and agreed that they won't come out to play.
I picked up the story intending to read only a couple of pages before bed. All night reading it and my emotions are tangled for Gage and Mari. I absolutely respected Mari for standing her ground, being straight up with no games or bs. Gage was perfect in his role of suffering billionaire with a mysterious past. These two did the tango of emotions right to the end.

Alexx Andria writes steamy stories with meaningful characters that come to life. You can feel each character's emotions in this book about a billionaire who is not afraid to use his fortune to get what he wants. And he wants Mari. He wants one night of passion with her, but they get so much more. (No spoiler here!)
It's a HEA that will have your heart melting. I HIGHLY recommend this book and this author for erotica romance readers that want a little more story to their books.

This is the first book in the series that I have read by the author and omg it will not be the last.
I was blown away by not only how she is able to create such an amazing story and characters that you can visualise in your mind's eye but how everything just gelled so perfectly together.
"Everything of yours belongs to me. Even your pleasure...and your pain.”
Now that is one sentence that would sure make this reader swoon.
This is the first book in the series that I have read by the author and omg it will not be the last.

4 second chance stars
Mari had some of the best comebacks and snark. I laughed out loud several times. When she made the comment about Gabe being the type to want to wear her face (Silence of the Lambs reference) I busted up. Quoting Shawshank Redemption scored some points too because I love that movie. Gage was struggling with demons but was hotter than Hades.
I wish the story would have been further drawn out. We went from Mari helping him to the epilogue. I wanted more before that happened. Still a good book.

I had never read a book by this author and was blown away by how great a read Temporary was. It it well written, the main character are fairly well developed but the storyline is captivating. The sexy, hot encounters are steamy and by far offset the dark sides to the book, a read more suitable for readers 18 years or older. I would definitely recommend Temporary. I did receive an ARC of this book but I liked it so much I purchased it so I would show as an Amazon Verified Purchaser. If there is any question though, I am voluntarily leaving my voluntary review.

Received this ARC for honest review. Gage & Mari have a fun awesome night together. And then he just ghosts out. Gage rocks her world and then poof. But he's already left his mark on her. Mari is one fiery kick ass girl and Gage had multiple secrets. I love the feeling of suspense and secrets. Always makes the story that much more angsty and deep. I really enjoyed this book and loved the voice of the author. Will continue to read more from Alexx. :)
