This cover definitely goes with the book! I like it!!
This is the 3rd book in this series, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content. It is about 178 pages long. While it is not mandatory to read the books in order, I think you will enjoy them more if you do!
This is Tex’s story which I love because I like the idea of everyone there finding their mates. This book was full of intrigue and mystery. The hints along the way made me think…I wonder…and I was right. I already like Tex from previous books, but no Magnolia in this book. His friends are a hoot! I really liked Laura even though she did give Tex a hard time for a while. I can’t wait to read more of this series!
I highly recommend this book to any shifter fan who loves HEA romance especially if you already enjoy reading Zoe’s work! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!!

My Gosh, that was a little confusing. Jenny and Laura, who's who and who was entangled with what might make someone want to kill'em. But I called the suspects early enough and still managed to enjoy this. Onto the next book!

This was a very enjoyable story. I liked both Laura and Tex and enjoyed their story.
Laura is a wolf shifter that has a twin (Jenny) that isn't a shifter. Jenny is always the "good twin" and Laura's "wild ways" tend to be looked down upon. Laura tends to chose the wrong boyfriends and her most recent one got her a delivery job that ended up being with the mob. When Laura figured things out, she decided to try to quit.
Tex is a bear shifter that fits his name and has the cowboy hat to prove it. Tex watched the movie "Cocktail" at an impressionable age and he grew up to become a bartender, hoping one day to have a bar in the tropics. When the story begins, Tex is working on a tropical resort that's exclusive to shifters.
Laura was talking to Jenny about her issues (Jenny is a lawyer) but Jenny had to leave to run an errand (using Laura's car) and the car ran off the road. Laura is at Jenny's apartment when the police show up tell her (thinking she's Jenny) that they believe that Laura had an accident and is probably dead. Laura is crushed, thinking that Jenny had died in an accident that had probably been meant for her but she keeps up the charade to the police, letting them think that she's Jenny because it's safer if the bad guys think Laura is already dead. Jenny was scheduled to go to a World Mr. Shifter pageant and Laura keeps those plans, figuring it's the easiest way to get out of the country and away from the mob.
Laura gets to the resort and quickly crosses paths with Tex. Tex recognizes her in 2 ways...first because she (the real Jenny) came into his bar in the states years ago and they'd talked for a while, second because his bear recognized her as their destined mate...which she hadn't been when they'd met before. This left Tex a bit flummoxed and unsure how to proceed. Laura realizes that Tex is her mate but also that he already thinks she's Jenny and she can't ruin her disguise. Laura tries to ignore their connection and gives Tex the cold shoulder but that doesn't last too long as danger finds her again. Laura and Tex are able to figure things out and I really liked how everything worked out in the end, both in Laura and Tex getting their HEA and in other things.
This was a very enjoyable story. I liked Laura and my only real complaint is that we're not given much background on her. Tex was a good hero and I liked him very much. He was very sincere and sweetly protective and can sing and play the guitar...what's not to like. He even apologized when he messed up! Overall, I liked the characters very much and liked the story so I'd recommend it. :)

Fated mates are supposed to feel the attraction to each other the first time they meet, so why do bartender Tex Williams and businesswoman Jenny Smith suddenly have a pull the second time they meet? What Tex doesn't know is that present-day "Jenny" is actually her twin sister Laura, on the run from the mob. But can their relationship last when he finds out who she really is?
This isn't the best of Zoe Chant's shifter books, but it's not the worse, either. The plot get convoluted and overly complicated in places, but the love story between Tex and Laura is intriguing. I like the background of the "Mr. World Shifter" pageant, which is a clever touch, but it doesn't make up for the rest of the otherwise basic book.

Twisty
I liked Tex a lot. I liked him in the previous books as well. He is open and kind. Laura was a bit difficult to connect to at first since her sister is dead, she took her identity, and goes to Shifting Sands. This caused her to be paranoid and it was hard to see her true character at first. There was some great twists and steamy scenes. I really liked the drink recipes at the end.

Liked Tex but laura was really annoying. The Mr. Shifter event was fun. I want Gizelle's story. Her character is very interesting. And Bastian too. Love Dragons.

This is the 3rd book in this series that I have come to love so much. I love all of the characters in this series and how each book’s main focus is on one of them, but still they all take place at the same resort they all work at and all of the characters are in every book. Definitely can be read as stand alones, but I recommend reading from book 1. Great story.

Tropical Bartender Bear brings us back to the lovely shifter resort and more romance for one of the staff members. We’ll also get to catch up with other favorite members of the resort, but a few are off on other adventures and we’ll have to catch up with them next time.
Tex has been one of my favorite secondary characters. If you’ve seen the movie Cocktail then imagine the bottle tossing bartender in shifter form. *grin* Yeah, Tex can toss ’em with the best. He’s a good listener, and years ago he lent an ear to one lovely guest. No mate signals but a really nice girl if a bit drunk and befuddled. Fast forward a few years to another location and the return of Jenny… but this time his bear is crooning “mate”. How is that possible? How could he have missed that connection years ago. No matter, she was here now, she was his and he’s not about to lose her again.
Laura was the bad twin of the set. Well, not really bad but certainly not the perfect twin like Jenny was. Once again one of her screw up decisions has landed her in hotter water than she ever imagined possible. Her solution, make herself over into the good twin and escape as fast as her wolf could move. She didn’t expect to find her mate, and she set out to ignore that fact because there was no time or place for mates in her life now. But one stubborn bear, and one determined stalker were about to change her mind.
I enjoyed Tropical Bartender Bear, it was fun to head back to Shifting Sands Resort once again. Laura and Tex make a fun, sexy and at times frustrating couple. The danger following Laura is very real, but not always from the source she suspects. Watching them overcome her reluctance to claim her mate and fight off the bad guy was a sexy, delightful experience.
If you love Shifters then this story and this series is a perfect match for you. Sexy times, mystery, and a solid romance. Hard to ask for more.

I read this story about Tex and Laura when it first came out and I loved it- I read these books in order and really loved the underlying arc as well as learning more about each of the different characters. Tex was one of my favorites- a bear shifter who is so protective and sweet. Laura, I liked, although her part in the story started on a lie- she got into trouble and pretended to be her deceased twin. She went to the Shifting Sands Resort and met her fated mate, Tex, who was confused because he did meet Jenny, her twin, before and didn't feel that she was his mate. Confused? ha yes initially, it was a little convoluted. But as the story unfolded, it was really a fun, original story that provided additional context about the island and the other characters that will eventually get their HEA. I've bought most of the ebooks in this series and I highly recommend it.
I requested and received the audiobook and listened to it to relive the story. I really liked the audiobook, which was narrated by Jay Alder and P. J. Morgan. Both did a good job. I thought that Jay Adler's female voice felt a little forced but he was a good Tex and was able to vary this voice well for the multiple characters. PJ Morgan also did a great job with varying her voice to fit the character and the narration did a good job at bringing me into the story.

This is a great paranormal shifter mystery. It is book three in the shifting Sands series. I really enjoyed reading and trying to solve the mystery.
Tex who is a the bartender at the resort met Jenny years ago at a bar he worked at and sent her home. Laura is Jenny's twin sister who somehow ended up working for unsavory characters.
Tex is the bartender at Shifting Sands Resort getting ready for the World Mr. Shifter Trials. Laura has taken her sister's place and identity when Jenny is killed in Laura's car. Could the accident that killed Jenny have been meant for Laura. Tex is confused when Jenny turns out to be his mate.

Laurelangelina Smith finds out her twin sister died in car accident. They think it her not her sister Jenny. Laura works for the cartel and wanted out.
Jenny boss and family friend Fred advised her to take the Shifter Pageant since she worked on the contract. So Laura pretends to be Jenny. She arrives at the resort and meets Tex she turns him down. Someone attempts to poison her, but Tex was able to prevent it. Tex now knows that she is Laura and Jenny was killed in car accident.
Jenny boss Fred tries to take time with her. Laura looks at Jenny laptop and someone blows it up. She tells Fred it's all backed up on the cloud.

This series is definitely getting better and better as it goes along for me.
Loved Tex in all his cowboy glory, he was totally swoon worthy, he was also a bit of a sweetheart.
Must admit it took me a little bit to warm to Laura after all her bad life choices but I got there in the end.
It was great going back to the resort with all the secondary characters we are slowly learning about. The owner/manager is definitely a mystery and I hope she eventually gets her own book.
This one had moments that tugged at the heart strings, a little bit of action/drama, some great steamy scenes and for me a surprise at the end, which I wont spoil. Even thought it could be read as a standalone quite easily I think you would get more enjoyment from starting at book one!
Overall a quick enjoyable read.

I am enjoying the direction this series is going and how it is improving with every book.
My favourite book in this series so far. I love a story that takes you along for the ride whilst bringing your own feelings into play.
In this third book we have Tex, the bartender at Shifting Sands feeling confused, as one of the guests is his mate but what is going on as he had met her years before and never felt the ping.
Laura is in hiding from some serious baddies and is pretending to be her twin sister Jenny, who is presumed dead. Hence poor Tex and his bears confusion not knowing that Laura is their mate.
Add in one intriguing plot that takes place whilst a shifter beauty pageant is taking place, this leads to some interesting twists and you get a great read with a great ending.
We also learn more about what is going on at the resort and with other characters we have met.

Laura is in hiding from some serious baddies and is pretending to be her twin sister Jenny, who is presumed dead. Hence poor Tex and his bears confusion not knowing that Laura is their mate.
Add in one intriguing plot that takes place whilst a shifter beauty pageant is taking place, this leads to some interesting twists and you get a great read with a great ending.
We also learn more about what is going on at the resort and with other characters we have met.

Loved the twists and turns in this
Tex is a fantastic character who I have enjoyed seeing in he previous stories. It was great to watch him with his mate Laura, who is a great character in her own right. There were plenty of surprises in the storyline, and the addition of the World Shifter competition added a lot of fun to the story.
You do want to read these in order, as they follow one right after the other. If you enjoy shifter stories that intertwine, super characters, some action (mostly in the last half of the story), surprises, some fun, and some steamy scenes, then this series is for you. I can't wait to see whose story is next at the Shifting Sands Resort! See for yourself. Enjoy.

Laura is on the run using her twins identity after her twin goes missing. Tex normally loves his job as a bar tender and believes himself unlucky in love. One look at Laura and Tex knows she was meant for him, but he met her twin years before. Will they discover who is after the girls? Will Tex be able to win over Laura?
Loved Tex. Didn't blame Laura for her way of reacting to everything going on around her, but was proud of her for admitting who she was to Tex. I thought Tex was a big teddy bear and loved his character. Learning who the otter was, was awesome! Cannot wait for more from Zoe Chant!

Yeehaw, Tex!
I've seen Tex in some past books, and he has always been a stand up guy, so I was happy to finally see him in his own book. When he meets Jenny, he could have taken advantage of her or sent her away, but he truly cared. So at first, I was a little upset that it was her sister posing as her that ended up as his mate, but it all worked out in the end. In fact, I think that Laura and he were much better suited to each other. And the otter was awesome!! You need to read to find out exactly how. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book, and I borrowed it through the Kindle Unlimited program.

Tex is the bartender at Shifting Sands Resort & has been there a while. At one time in his past he actually met the person that Laura is pretending to be; so he thinks that it’s a little strange that back then he knew she wasn’t his mate but now she is?
This book gets all of that straightened out & then some. This book also has a good vs bad plot, some sex scenes & a happy reunion; so this was a very good book.

What does an identical twin do when the "bad guys" are out to get her and her identical twin has disappeared? I know what you are thinking, but can it really be as easy as that, especially when the twin is an attorney and she is anything but a professional of any kind! But then taking a break on an island paradise hosting the World Mr. Shifter finals may be just the ticket!
Definitely a fun read. Quite a few unexpected twists and mysterious happenings in this one, topped with some hot romance!

Love the Shifting Sands resort series and all the quirky shifters who inhabit it. This one tells the tale of Tex, the bartending bear with a penchant for cowboy hats and big buckles, and his fated mate Laura, a wolf Shifter with a deadly secret. Full of suspense, danger and Mr. Shifter World contestants, this book will keep any PNR fan delightfully entertained. It can be read as a standalone with with a satisfying HEA, but reading would be richer if the earlier books in the series were read, too. I feel in love with Zoe when I started her series "Fire & Rescue Shifters".. when I had the pleasure of reading "The Master Shark's Mate" ok was introduced to some of the characters of this series... So I had to read it... I was not disappointed... And I believe you will not be disappointed with this series... I do recommend this to readers 18 and over.. (sorry)

It's been a while since I read a book by Zoe Chant! I love shifter romances and this one was pretty good. Tex and Laura's story has a lot of twists and turns, some I expected and others I didn't! Tex was such a sweetheart and I could just picture him twirling those liquor bottles:) As for Laura, she was a bit more of a complicated character but she soon grew on me.

I really enjoyed this, Tex is such a sweetheart, he’s nothing but caring and loyal and such a beautiful person/bear. I loved the pace of the story, and could easily overlook the minor editing issues. The only criticism I have is that it felt a little like it was wrapped up and ended a little too quickly, but that could be because of how much I was enjoying reading it.

I guess surprised about what happened 2 her but I don't understand how Jenny became a shifter. At the beginning it said she was human and then out of the blue she's a shifter but it doesn't make sense on how especially when she has a lot of issues between her and her animal. Yes is awesome in many ways!!
