Worry. Fear. Pain. You think something might be wrong with your loved one—your son or daughter, your husband or wife, your mom or dad—but you can’t be sure. Can it just be a phase they’re going through, or can it be something worse? Can it even be addiction? Finding Hope was written with you in mind. Starting from diagnosing whether your loved one has a problem with addiction and taking you all the way through treatment and beyond, Lance Lang has created this field manual to help both you and your loved one get the help you both need. Packed with useful information, practical steps you can take, and encouraging interviews, Finding Hope is your foundational resource for navigating the traumatic upheaval of addiction.
Opened my eyes to how addicts are affected by their family. Good input from both parents as to how they might have enabled without knowing it. Gives input from addicts and parents as to what to expect and ideas how to react (or not react). Recommend to anyone needing Hope with a loved one wrapped up in addiction.
I love HIA and received this book the first time I went to a Finding Hope group. The book really is great. There is a lot of info and advice for parents with some mention of other relationships, but it would be encouraging for stories and advice from/for siblings as well.
You’re not alone. It’s not your fault. And there is hope!
Great book. Very helpful, I enjoyed the multiple speakers, the addicts perspective, the parents voices, and the counselors. We have bought several copies to give to others.
