What would you do if the most important people in your world were suddenly and violently taken away from you? Everything is excruciating! Everything is broken! Ean Montgomery and Dani Adams were each forced to see the same grief counselor after a drunk driver killed both Dani’s husband and Ean’s wife and six year old son. Two cars demolished, two families killed. In an unconventional twist of therapy, Dani and Ean were each given a private cell phone and only the first initial of their first names. They were then instructed to reach out to one another in order to share their grief…to heal. The rules: Communicate only through text messages and never reveal our real names or other personal details. Neither planned to contact the other, but with all hope and the will to live gone… Over the course of a year, through texting alone, they form a unique bond. Friendship blossoms into something deeper. They were never supposed to meet, but fate had other plans, and into their world of loss and despair, something amazing began to grow… But can the can the passion they’ve found sustain itself with the deep, soul-twisting pain that never seems to fade? Join Ean and Dani on their journey as they discover that even in their darkest days, hope does exist and when tragedy turns your world upside down, the miracle of love can set everything right again.

This story woke me up in the middle of the night and the best way I can it describe is…like listening to an audiobook. I felt their journey with such intensity it took my breath away. I got up, opened notes on my iPhone, and my thumbs got to work. That was October 4, 2015. Since then, I've been very fortunate. I was introduced to an amazing editor and together we've spent the last year and a half making Dani and Ean's story shine.

It’s a story about hope and how the power of love can heal even the deepest wounds.

I must warn you that Kleenex, lots of them will be needed. This story deals with sensitive subjects such as loss and depression that may trigger some, so please be cautious.

Both Ean & Dani went through the unthinkable that connects them. I thought I had it figured out but I was way off.

As they find comfort in texting each other to share what they are feeling I loved that they had each other for that. The support they offered each other helped them to be able to cope with anniversaries, memories and many other things.

Though they had yet met each other they realized that they were having feeling for each other and while that was not wrong in itself they knew that there were many hurdles they were going to have to pass.

Ms Mitchell's words were beautifully written and they captured my attention from the very first Prologue. I could not put it own and even went back and re read areas that had me oohing and aahhing. 5 Emotional Stars

OMG, what an emotional book. I read this book in one sitting. As emotional as it was it was also very hard to put down. This is one that you'll definitely need the tissues handy. It takes a lot for me to cry or get teary eyed while reading a book but this one had me so drained that I got a headache but it was so worth it.

Where do I begin? Ean or E lost the love of his life, their six year old son and unborn daughter in a terrible car accident caused by a drunk driver that ran the red light. Dani or D lost also the love of her life, her husband, in that same accident. They all were killed instantly except for the driver that survived.

Ean and Dani were court ordered to see a grief counselor but separately. They never met each other nor knew the other full name. The grief counselor broke the rules and got a special phone for each with only each other's name and number and initial of their first name so they can grieve and talk to each other under one condition, no meeting in person or personal information.

On one of Ean's dark days he decides to text D and they start comforting each other. As time passed they became virtual best friends and each other's lifeline. It was hard reading what they both went thru, the suicidal thoughts, and all the heartbreak. They promised never to love again.

Time passed and they were emotionally connected but never crossed that line because they were afraid that if they physically meet they will lose each other. There was an incident that occurred that was just a hold your breath moment but nothing happened. Once you read you'll understand what I'm talking about. After several time have passed they decide to finally meet physically and it's the most beautiful moment. You'll have a smile on your face.

These two were strong together and things developed and I couldn't help myself but cheer for these two that suffered such loss and heartbreak. They were each other's soulmates. This is a must read because they are so many other things that happened that I can't say and will spoil the story.

One thing that these two had her supportive friends and family that never left their sides. The conclusion was beautiful but I know we will see more of these characters.

I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy of this book.

Loved the premise in this one. This is the first time I have read this author. The writing is good just a bit predictable in the story line. I'm not sure how I thought it would go but pretty much no surprises.

After unimaginable circumstances, the fact that E and D can begin to put their lives together at all much less build a relationship with each other, is truly the heart grabbing part of the story. I enjoyed their texting back and forth. I really liked their support systems as well.

Looks like there may be more books to come from this author and this group of characters.

What a lovely story of lost love and second chances. Author, Stacy Mitchell just tugged at my heart strings with this story. Dani and Ean were great. I loved that the only way that they interacted with one another in the beginning was through text. While, this form of communication is now being know as more "informal" in Dani and Ean's case it allowed them to open up with one another more freely.

The fact that they both experienced loss so fresh; allowed them to really relate to the other's situation and tap into their feelings. Again, I was in for the long haul from start, middle, and ending. Speaking of the ending, it was a joyous one. It left me with a smile. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

Holy Smokes... This book was just... I have no words. I read this book in one go, as I couldn't stop reading once I started, a total emotional rollercoaster.

My review will not be that in depth as I believe that this book you need to read and experience for yourself.
What I do want to say is that, this book was so freaking sad but it also had a happy ending. What these two people went through was just to terrible to describe. But through all of that they found a way to get up and move on. By being each other's light, they found a way to take each day one at a time and to eventually move on from what they have both experienced.

A heartfelt book that deals with loss and tragedy but also deals with acceptance and moving forward.
Looking forward to reading the next one in this series.

When I read the synopsis, I was very intrigued by the idea of communicating with someone who was experiencing grief, but that grief stemming from the same incident.

I sat back and asked myself, "could I do the same thing?" Then I started reading Ean and Dani's story. How these two individuals were able to continue was just mind blowing (because honestly, I don't know if I could).

Ms. Mitchell did an amazing job with this book, I became emotionally connected to both Ean and Dani.

I highly recommend.

First of all, let me address the trigger warnings and heavy topics. This novel includes the death of adults and a child. The events that transpire at the beginning of the novel seem unimaginable, although it is, unfortunately, a possibility in the world in which we live. It is difficult and heart-breaking, but do not avoid this novel because of it – this novel is incredible and the overall joy and peace throughout the story outshines the difficulty in the beginning.

Each of the main characters is broken and grieving early in the novel, but I want to focus on the amazing characters that Stacy Mitchell reveals as the story progresses. Dani is beautiful, smart, creative, and now raising her young daughter on her own – with the help of her in-laws and many great friends. Unsure of where to go professionally, since she and her husband worked together in their design business, Dani is very thoughtful about what she wants to do next and what she wants next for her and Dani. As Dani heals more and more, the reader gets to see that she’s actually hilarious, spunky, fun, and incredibly loving.

Ean is also creative, smart, talented, incredibly handsome – but initially – incredibly sad and lost. An architect that began designing outdoor furniture, Ean was realizing and embracing his true passion but then avoids it. Just as I got to see the “real” Dani come out throughout this story, I watched Ean become lighter, more carefree, and also absolutely hilarious. Whether the banter between them in their texts, or Ean’s banter with his friends, I slowly but surely realized that this man was not only sexy, gorgeous and a huge flirt – but also amazingly funny.

Saving Each Other is such a beautiful portrayal of fate, soul mates, Kismet – whatever you prefer to call it. Throughout the novel, parallels between their lives are constantly revealed, making the story so magical. Ean and Dani get to know each other in various ways, which I don’t want to spoil, but when the climax of their relationship comes to fruition, prepare to be crying and jumping for joy at the same time. There is so much love and emotion within this novel, I truly cannot find the right words to explain it, but I know that from the time I sat down this morning to read it, I hardly moved until I finished it. I was completely sucked in and entranced with this story and the amazing writing from Stacy Mitchell.

The biggest surprise of all was when I finished the novel and realized that this was Mitchell’s debut novel. Nothing about Saving Each Other even remotely reads as if this is her first novel. The writing is genuine and real, the characterization and imagery and incredible, and the pacing and flow is perfection. With this being her first novel, I cannot imagine what the next will be like as she continues to develop and discover herself as a writer. According to the end of the book, a second will be released this year, and I am already dying to get my hands on it. By the way, I am a seasoned beta reader, hint, hint!

Saving Each Other is a must-read that I strongly recommend without any reservations. This is a story that will grab you, move you, and give you all the feels, but more importantly, this is the chance to become familiar with an incredible debut author that I hope and feel, will become a household name.

*Many thanks to PR By the Book for providing a copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review!

Saving Each Other by Stacy Mitchell is a book about ensuring a loss so great that your world is flipped on its axis and you don't know if you will survive while desperately trying to live again. Both Ean and Dani have endured what no person ever wants to experience, the loss of their spouse and in Ean's case his son and unborn child at the hand of another's reckless decisions. It is the strength that Ean and Dani find in each other, through text message exchanges that span a years time that helps them to move past the unfathomable grief and into an acceptance of their new reality and the possibility of more. Only knowing that the other experienced a loss in the same accident, and having only the first initial of the other's name, Ean and Dani confide in each other about their struggle to come to terms with their loss. Without giving any personal details, they talk to each other, comfort each other and guide each other as they navigate a life on their own. It is what slowly begins to happen with these two that is truly amazing to watch unfold and after everything they have been through the reader hopes that there is some kind of happier ending for them.

Stock up on tissues before reading this beautifully written novel. Dani and Ean both lost the loves of their lives. Their therapist prescribed texting to each other. That sends them into a whirlwind of texts, inner thoughts, hidden emotions revealed, and ultimately love. This novel is a combination modern romance and self-help book, demonstrating how love and hope can triumph over pain and desolation.

Reviewed for Chick Lit Central (www.chicklitcentral.com)

My worst fears are presented and on full display with Saving Each Other. I cannot fathom losing my husband, or one of my children. The way the pain and utter despair has been captured within Ean and Dani’s stories, it felt realistic and human and while it was difficult to delve into, given the subject matter, I didn’t want to turn away from it. I wanted to better understand, to fully experience it.

Ean and Dani are given an opportunity to help one another through one of the most difficult times I feel anyone could go through, but they don’t know each other, have never met. They don’t even know names, using first initials instead. Yet, I could feel the deep connection that begins to form, a bond grown from tragedy. No one else would understand what they’re going through, and in this ambiguity they become a lifeline for one another, enabling both characters to live each day, even when it feels like the days aren’t worth living.

Granted, this is fiction, yet I could see how the process of healing, how finding the light at the end of a dark tunnel is achievable. Whether it’s through an unconventional method of conversing with a stranger who is also going through the same pain, who knows the score, or finding solace within loved ones who want nothing more than to be there. And there were subtle elements of something reminiscent to the movie You Got Mail, where the two primary characters form a bond without even knowing each other or never meeting. It was a nice, sweet romantic touch that helped to balance out the heavy subject matter of the plot. It will be interesting to see what’s next in book two of the Saving series, not only for Ean and Dani, but for their supporting characters, too.

Saving Each Other by Stacy Mitchell is packed full of emotions. From the beginning, I found myself totally absorbed in the story of Dani Adams and Ean Montgomery. Dani Adams is married to her best friend and soul mate Scott. They met in college, share a love of art and design, and have a beautiful daughter, Chole. Ean Montgomery is married to his best friend, Alyssa. They have a son Alex and another baby on the way. These two couples have the perfect life that many people only hope to have until one terrible day when a drunk driver hits two cars, one with Scott and the other with Alyssa and Alex. The only survivor is the drunk driver.

Saving Each Other shows a unique way that their grievance counselor helps these two people live again. They have a cell phone to use for text messages only to share their grief and the struggles they have living without their soulmates. The rule for their messaging is to use their first initial only and never share any personal information. They share their efforts to learn to live again. D and E help one another find a way to join the world of the living. The text messages encourage one another to go out with friends, celebrate holidays, and become functioning human beings again something neither wants to do.

I know the pain of losing a spouse unexpectedly, so some of the texts are very emotional for me. Ean’s pain often crushed me because he lost his entire family and shut down completely. His depression and heartbreak are palpable. Dani has her daughter to make her try to face the days. She must move forward for Chole preparing meals, cleaning the house, etc. but it is hard to stop the tears.

The way Ean and Dani find their way back from grief is sometimes hard, sometimes sweet, and often daunting. E and D form an online friendship and become special to each other. I love the way they make one another move, return to work, go on dates, etc. In grief one often hurts the family who tries to help. It is difficult to understand the desperation. D & E knows the pain and knows how to say the right thing and when to say it.

The story is told in alternating points of view which works well because Dani and Ean have unique issues and feelings. Ean and Dani need to work through their feelings, and the reader needs to see the struggle through each individual’s eyes. Understand during their chapters. There are times that the story is predictable, but it works. There are a couple chapters where the points of view alternate within the chapter. Those feel a little redundant at times. For me, the story would be more precise if the alternating chapters continued throughout the story.

Regardless, Saving Each Other is a different look at the way two people deal with loss and find a way to live again. It has a satisfying ending even though it is expected and predictable at times. Saving Each Other is the first book I’ve read by Stacy Mitchell. It is a nice introduction to this author.

It is hard to believe that is the first book for this author, WoW! Is all I can say. Many topics were discussed here and while it may be triggers for some, it may be a healing help for others that may be going through the same issues. You will cry, laugh and want to drink quite a few times reading this story. It is full of heartbreak and joy if it makes sense and you will see why once you read the book.
FATE is one word to describe this story. Though it was told as fate intervening twice I kinda say it was more like three times. I really want to say more and why I believe this; however, that would be giving you some spoilers in the story so I will just have to say read the story and see if you agree with me that fate was dealt a third time to these two wonderful characters.
Ean (E) and Danielle (Dani, D or Dee) both experience a tragic loss that no family should endure and it is heartbreaking. They are both put into therapy and the only contact they can have is a cell phone to text to try and help heal each other. They cannot give away any personal information or reveal who they are. You will see two broken people who were not surviving, help heal each other in a time of need just by communicating via text to a stranger. They become best friends (virtual) and each other’s lifeline. It almost reminded me of those bonds that pen pals shared years ago before electronic devices took over paper and pen.
There is yet another incident and you are gasping like “NO, how could any more go wrong?” But the key thing is that in all that occurred they didn’t realize that they knew each other and you go from sad to smiling when it is revealed. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, you can have more than one soul mate in your lifetime. Yes, the loss of their spouses and child were devastating to both, but after you meet these two even virtually you know that there is a connection between these two. It is ironic though the many times they didn’t realize fate or the past really put these two together. The support of friends and family is a key piece to healing and as the puzzle is pieced together you see more of the hand of fate and those watching above. I know it is kinda vague, but I don’t want to give away any spoilers. So, yes, you will cry and ugly cry, but you will laugh and be toasting right along with E and D. You will happy cry a few times especially when the names of some characters are revealed. The way I see this is D comes before E and F comes after so the Forever journey these two take is worth the emotional path these two have to bear to meet.
In all the tears that I endured in this story, you will fall in love and you will be patiently waiting for the next release in the Saving series. If I ever get a chance to visit the places mentioned in this story I will for sure be adding some stops to my travel plans. Join Ean and Dani on their journey and see how Fate and Hope intertwine.

***edited review following the update of the book***

I read Ean and Dani’s story when it first came out. While I loved the story itself, I was a little disappointed in how abrupt the ending was. Well, I am not anymore!!! If you read this book before, please read the updated version!! You will not be dissapointed!! It warmed my cold hart even more to see Dani and Ean after they got together, in their element, which is what I thought was missing before. And it reminded me, again, that life is unpredictable in so many ways, but you can’t ever give up! There is a light at the end of the very long tunnel!!

***end of review edit***

One thing that I learned from reading this book is that there is life after tragedy. And it felt like the characters learned that same thing right along with me.

We get to meet Ean and Danielle. Their lives intertwine when a drunk driver causes an accident where both their spouses die. In Ean's case, he also loses his 6 year old son and unborn daughter. They are both beyond heartbroken. Danielle's is coping a little better because she has a four year old that she needs to focus on, where Ean doesn't feel like he's got anything to live for anymore. Due to who the drunk driver ( who survived the accident) was, part of the settlement they got after the accident was that they both had to see an appointed grief counselor, not together, but individually. Neither one of them or their families ( per their request) read any of the articles written about the accident so they don't know who the other victim was or their family's names. When the grief counselor can't figure out how to help them in their grief anymore, she decides to give them each a "special" phone with only the other one's phone number saved on it and their first initial. They both take the phone without any intention to contact the other, until Ean can't take it anymore and contacts Danielle. They get to become best friends over the course of a year where they also start developing romantic feelings for each other. At some point, through some crazy twist of fate, they also get to meet in person without realizing who the other one is, and they become good friends as neighbors.

All in all, it really was a beautiful story of real heartbreak and full of emotion. However, I was a little disappointed towards the end. It just felt a little rushed to me. I felt like I was getting a recap of what happened after Ean and Danielle met in person instead of witnessing what actually happened. We got to the epilogue (which was really sweet and fool of hope), but it made my head spin how all of a sudden we were there... I felt robbed of the good vibes that we could've gotten by witnessing first hand how Ean and Danielle felt, for example, the day after they met for the first time, and the weeks following that.

LEEANN'S REVIEW
4 STARS

This was a book that started off on very emotional footing. The emotion continued throughout the book & by the end the characters had grown from emotionally devastated to emotionally happy and content.

The concept of the story line was a bit different from anything I have read in a long time and I think going in you need to remember that this is a work of fiction and may or may not be a situation that could eventuate in real life.
This is a story about 2 lost souls who are in pure despair and neither of them feel they will ever come back from it. They have never met each other but quickly become each others lifeline. They develop a bond that is unbreakable and at times completely overwhelming.
The author has been very clever about how she has written their story and given this one couple 2 completely different relationships with each other. This could have been a disaster but the author has actually done it quite brilliantly and pulled it off without a hitch.

Due to the nature of the storyline the characters have developed into better and healthier versions of themselves by the end of the story and the flow of the story telling is almost flawless. There were a few little things I could point out but I won’t because they didn’t change the outcome of the story or the general feel I got as a reader. I enjoyed the story in an emotional way and would recommend having some tissues handy for this one because there are moments that will have you feeling the characters grief and despair right along with them and other moments that will have you laughing right along with them too.

This book is worth one clicking and adding to your TBR list!

Heartbreakingly beautiful, filled with both tragedy and hope, Saving Each Other will have you crying in tears of sadness and then joy. This distinctly unique romance is the kind of book that stays with you long after you've finished it. It shattered my heart and then stitched it back together in the most breathtaking way.

Two people, utterly lost and suffering through a tremendous amount of pain and grief. Dani and Ean only have a phone, given to them by a grief counselor, as a lifeline. One simply text to a complete stranger starts a change that will ultimately lead to their survival and healing. The first initial of each other's name is all they know, but through text a beautiful friendship is born that slowly blossoms into something miraculous. This book will have you ugly crying. A LOT. Grab the tissues, because you're going to need them, and this book is totally worth it.

You could feel Ean and Dani's pain pouring off the pages as they suffered through the unimaginable. There were times I had to sit this book down and just step back for a second because my heart hurt so much for each of them. It's worth all the pain though as E and D begin to reach out to one another. The deep friendship and love they form without ever seeing one another was refreshingly beautiful and real. They helped each other through the ugliest parts of life and formed a bond that went soul deep before even laying eyes on each other.

When they finally, finally, meet you'll be left breathless by the emotional beauty of these two lost souls coming together. This is hands down one of the best books I've read this year and I can't wait for the next!

Rating: 4.5*

I recently re-read this book after it underwent further edits.

This book starts out with an incredibly tragic event which impacts on Ean and Dani greatly, tearing their lives apart. Ean loses his entire family and Dani her husband in the same accident. The idea that they can talk anonymously to each other through messages was a great one, enabling the relationship to develop gradually over time and be based on their personalities rather than a physical one (although sexting is a thing). I really loved how these two helped and supported each other virtually through a very dark time to the light at the other end. I found myself needing tissues with the start of the book. I got pulled along with the emotions of their loss. I found myself invested in the characters and their healing together.

This book brought all the feels as we followed Ean and Dani on their journey of healing. I liked how when they meet (and don't know the identity of the other) the attraction is there and the conflict this causes adds an extra dimension. This focused on their virtual relationship and you fall in love with them both as they fall for the other. I loved what Stacy Mitchell did to the big reveal - it is such an important part of their story and she managed to share their excitement and journey without retelling everything we have just read. It flowed brilliantly.

I really enjoyed this book and the emotional roller coaster it took me on. I found myself at several points needing more tissues.

Sweet story. The premise of the story was unbelievably heartbreaking. Two people who lost the love of their lives finding love again through their shared grief. I loved the idea of people texting each other, not knowing any personal information, just helping each other cope.

Ean and Dani, the two protagonists, had one of the most devastating things happen to them. Ean more so than Dani because, not only did he lose his wife, but also his son and unborn daughter. I can understand living would be hard when your love dies, but your children… I can’t even fathom that. I would cease to exist. And that’s exactly where Ean and Dani are in the beginning of this story.

This is definitely a story where Fate plays a hand in bringing two people together. There are too many coincidences to think otherwise.

My only complaint is there was a lot of telling and not showing. It made certain parts feel eh. However, the parts that showed … man, you really felt Ean and Dani’s grief. It hit me hard. And the writing was really well done.

Something I have never seen before is the way Stacy Mitchell joined two POVs in a chapter. She didn’t have the section breaks of what you usually see, but she made one POV bold while the other wasn’t, so that you got to experience both first-person POVS simultaneous.

And the last couple pages, whoa, that really led on to the next book. Another story that will be similarly devastating.

Saving Each Other by Stacy Mitchell is the first book in the Saving Series.
" Tragedy tore our life apart, but our love put it back together. "
Meet Ean Montgomery and Dani Adams. Both lost the their loved ones in a tragic accident.
They´re not only broken, no they are shattered in million pieces. Their therapist put them in anonymous contact through text messages. And slowly, very slowly they help each other but their life back together.
Saving Each Other gutted the hell out of me. I cried the whole time reading this book. If you love a good ugly cry book, this is the one.
Saving Each Other is a very emotional read, be prepared you´ll need lots of tissues. This book deals with sensitive subjects, like loss, grief, depression. Consider you warned.
And at the same time Saving Each Other is a beautiful love story. I love the writing, the words and the characters. I could feel the characters emotions in the words. Saving Each Other is a book that I´ll read and reread for shure.
I recommend the book and can´t wait for Saving Them, Justin and Lysee´s story.
I give 5 stars and say thank you, Stacy Mitchell !

Stacy Mitchell is a new author to me and I loved every minute of Saving Each Other, the first book in her Saving Series. I've read very few books this year and I have to say that this one has stood out for me on so many levels. I thought of it for a few days after finishing it as it had such a profound effect on me.

I was drawn in from the very first page and I was thankful that it was the school holidays and I could indulge in an afternoon of reading because I couldn't put it down. It was a book full of heartbreak and real emotion and by the end I was literally surrounded by scrunched up tissues and had red puffy eyes, but it was well worth it. I felt every single emotion the characters went through from the very start. The grief, the heartache, the dark days when you all you want is to disappear, I experienced it all.

I learned that even in our deepest, darkest hours we are given a lifeline and through tragedy and loss the two characters became each others lifelines, through the bad and the extremely ugly they stood tall and strong for each other.

I'm excited to see where Stacy Mitchell takes this series.

What do you do when your counselor hands you a phone and tells you to text the person that went through the same tragedy as you? You ignore that phone. You act like that phone doesn't exist because what it means is that you are admitting your family is gone. When you are feeling you're at the rock bottom though and are thinking about joining your precious family you take a gamble and you send that text.

Ean 'E' is thankful that the woman he knows only as 'D', answers. When he texts out of desperation, she comes through. Dani 'D', is doing everything in her power to make life normal for her 4 year old daughter once her husband is killed. When that text comes its like a weight off her shoulder. She is able to get out all of her anger, sorrow, and sadness. She is able to share her life with someone who understands.

These two lost souls walk each other through a year of life. I really enjoyed the walk. The emotion that was felt, the feelings shared, and the journey was realistic. It had me wanting to hug them, scream with them, and cry with them.

Wow! What a powerful and beautiful story. Two characters who have the loves of their lives stolen from them by a drunk driver. As they are grieving and barely hanging on, their grief counselor has them text each other to show they aren't alone. What starts as a small friendship through text, blossoms into a wonderful relationship. They are just what each other needs. They aren't looking to replace the ones they lost. They have a new love. My favorite part was when they meet without knowing it. But when it's official, it's beautiful. I just loved this story. It had me smiling, laughing and even crying. The author wrote it from the view points of the two main characters and I felt like I really was experiencing everything - loss, sadness, anger, happiness and love. I highly recommend this book. It is worth the read. And it will leave the reader with a warmness inside.

Holy roller coaster ride, bat man!! Saving Each Other is one amazing, sad, hopeful and loving kind of read. My mind is blown at how awesome this book really is.

After losing your true love, how do you go on? How can you love again? How can you breathe? This is what Dani and Ean had to figure out. After losing their other halves, they shut down. They didn’t live. Each other trapped in their worst nightmare. That is until that one text. Will their lives find a happily ever after?

Stacy Mitchell has earned herself a spot in my authors that I will forever follow category. She knows how to write and keep the story going. Stacy never gave up the outcome too easy, she made you dig until you finally get what you want. This story ripped my heart out at the very beginning, although it was slowly put back together, piece by piece. I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next!

This is the first time I have read any of this authors work, and my word, I was totally blow away with this story! Ean and Dani were left devastated after a tragic fatal accident. They are both ordered to go for grief counselling, and the councillor gives them each a phone no and the initial of each of their names, in order for them to text each other, and grieve together, and start the healing process. This is a unique storyline which is the most emotional novel I have read for a long time, yet so hauntingly beautiful at the same time. Be warned, lots of tissues are required!

This was a very emotional book. I went through a lot of tissues while reading but had a hard time putting it down. I thought the premise was very interesting. I loved how Ean (or E) and Dani (D) built their relationship through texts. I don't know how I would deal with the losses and grief both are dealing with. The support they provide each other makes a huge difference. Ultimately I did find this a story of hope. That you can survive even the worst of losses and find happiness again. I highly recommend reading this book.

Rating: 3/5 Penguins
Quick Reasons: well-rounded, intriguing, realistic characters; challenging, emotionally-driven plot points; the different perspectives were tonally the same, making it difficult to follow which character we were seeing through at times

Huge thanks to Stacy Mitchell, CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, and PR By the Book for sending a free digital galley of this title my way in exchange for an honest review! This in no way altered my read of or opinions on this book.

Just from the blurb, I knew this read was going to touch on some hauntingly painful, poignantly emotional topics. The journey that these characters go through--from finding their "one and only" love, to losing it, to rediscovering an affinity for love within themselves and each other--is powerfully written and beautifully portrayed across these pages. It's a splattering of romance and friendship, of hardship and companionship, that makes this story--and the characters--so very realistic. I did feel as if some of the dialogue and character reactions may have been written a bit over the top--some of them came off as very dramatized, instead of true-to-life. This might just be my personal perspective on things like grief and trauma, though; we all experience these things differently, after all, so I can't say for sure that my opinion on this is exactly right.

I did feel as if the different perspectives were a bit TOO similar, tonally--they sounded very alike in terms of language choices and descriptors, which made it a bit difficult at times to remember which character we were seeing the world through at any given moment. This can, unfortunately, be a bit confusing if readers aren't paying full attention to the headers on the chapters--or if they set their book down for a while and return to it at a later time.

This was realistic, emotionally challenging, and hard-hitting. The characters are vibrant and well-rounded. I did feel as if some of the interactions were a bit over-dramatized, and that the different perspectives sounded very similar tonally. However, I'd recommend this to lovers of contemporary romance, hard-hitting growth journeys, and poignantly realistic characters. Would you save a faceless cell phone contact, Penguins, or let them suffer alone?
