A simple, cute, drama-free and feel-good book.
This isn't something you will think about months from now, but also not something that'll make your blood boil in rage. In short, I find this entire series to be books that are fun, cute and fast reads - gauranteed to end happily without a single obstacle in the way.
Sometimes you need a long, slow burn, realistic romance and sometimes you need fluff. Fluff this is.

'Emma and the Earl' by Samantha Holt is book Three in The "Bluestocking Brides" series. This is the story of Emma Chadwick and Lord Morgan Radcliff, Earl of Whitehurst. I have read the other books (and loved them!) but this can easily be a standalone book.
Morgan is trying to out run a married women that is after him. Although Morgan is a known Rake he does not daley with married women. But when Morgan is caught hanging from a window by Emma things go off track. Emma tries to help Morgan get down from the window but he falls on her and from there they are caught. So as we know this means they will have to marry. Although they have seen each other before a few times they have never interacted with each other for long. So they both are trying to make the best they can of the situation. They both are attracted to each other which opens them up for more than just a marriage of convince.
I love the Chadwick sisters! Their stories are funny, sweet and loving. I can't wait for more from them!

This was a lighthearted, entertaining read. The characters of Emma and Morgan were very likeable. I enjoyed the interaction between the Chadwick sisters and the way they had their sister’s best interests at heart. Morgan has a secret that he doesn’t wish to share which makes things awkward for Emma. However, it’s amazing what a difference an unwanted admirer makes to the situation! I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I have, however, purchased a copy.

I took a gamble on less than perfect and it ran away with my heart. Emma and the Earl is an adventure in romance. Holt continues to captivate with unique characters, witty dialogue and the sweetest romances. Emma and her Earl are proof that the most precious treasure is what resides within.

Trying to hide from a married woman a little too insistent for his taste, his life will take a sudden and different turn when he jump from the window and land on Emma, thereby compromising her. That's how he end up with a wife he didn't wish for. There's nothing wrong with Emma, but Morgan never intended to marry or at least, not yet. That's why he's gonna need time to settle into the role of husband. He may not be as confident as he appear either. But if she wants to stay close to her family, the heroine is gonna have to show her new partner how to enjoy the countryside or she'll have to follow him in London.
I wish this novella could have tell me or show me who Emma is. Since the beginning of the series, she's been searching what her true calling is and I don't think we found the answer. In this one, there was a lot of the usual trope we often find in Historical Romance but I liked it anyway. Like in the other novellas, the real charm of this series is seeing the complicity and affection between the sisters.

This made for delightful light reading in one afternoon. I always enjoy Samantha Holt's stories and this one is no exception.
Emma and Morgan's story begins in a most unusual way....he falls on her! Yes, falls on her!! lol Wouldn't you know it, her mother discovers them in that compromising situation and before they know it, they are married! Emma, having had no wish to marry and Morgan, being a confirmed bachelor and rake, must now make the best of it and get to know each other. He not only has to deal with Emma, though, he must also deal with all her sisters who are not shy of voicing their opinions:) Also, because of the nightmares brought on by his parents' death in the country, he prefers to live in London while Emma prefers the country. Amidst these problems, love blossoms and it's very heartwarming to read how they reach their HEA.
I was given an ARC of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

A great love story about Emma and Morgan who are forced to marry to save her from being ruined in the eyes of society after he is caught laying on top of her at a party. He actually jumped out a 2nd story door to escape a married woman trying who was trying to trap him. They discovered love and had a HEA. The story is well written and entertaining. I would recommend this book as a good read.

This is a fun, engaging novella. Nicely written although there are one or two typos, but nothing that detracted from the story. Steamy scenes were beautifully written and there was good character development. My only other thought that some of the speech and attitudes were a little modern, but no more than a lot of other Historical books I've read. Can be read as a stand alone and Emma's siblings also make appearances. I would say that your reading experience would be enhanced if you read the series from the beginning if possible so you understand the family dynamics. 7/10

Samantha Holt has left the best and most comical for last. In this book which is fashioned to be the final one in the series we find Emma who has continuously blundered her way through an endless array of hobbies has finally blunderer her way into a scandal and certain ruin.
She only meant to lend a helping hand to this overly handsome earl who needs help down from the window ledge. Unfortunately for the both of them he fell, not to the ground but on top of Emma with her mother and other guests as a belated audience.
Morgan, like Emma had no intentions to marry but he is honorable and would never leave a lady to be ruined. His reason for not wanting marriage is put aside and they are wed.
What sort of trail will this scandalous if very comical beginning take and how will it end?
This third book of this series is not to be missed. I gave it 4.25 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 3.5 of 5.0 flames. This book is more comical than sensual but does have it's intimate scenes.

EMMA AND THE EARL is the third book in the Bluestocking Brides series. Each will stand on its own, but I highly recommend reading them all and in the order of release. This is the first I have read in the series and had no trouble understanding the previous relationships. Still, it goes without saying that I want to read the others!
Something different happened while I was reading this book. My fiancé asked me what I was reading and what it was about. I read the book blurb to him. It was fun explaining terms (like ton, rake, and bluestocking) that a modern, American gentleman wouldn’t know. We laughed that I would be considered to be a bluestocking. He made me feel valued just as our book boyfriends always do for their girls.
What starts as a bit of a Laurel-and-Hardy-esque farce for Morgan as he tries to rebuff a married woman soon turns very serious for him and Emma. The story is a light affair that was quickly read and kept a smile on my face as we prepared for our own serious business (Hurricane Dorian is on track to enter our backyard).
Not all stories need to be full of grit and angst. Sometimes we need a light and fluffiness. This was exactly the fluff I needed now, and I will seek out the rest of the series for more fluff, sweetness, and loving.
That’s not to say they didn’t have just-married issues to resolve, but they were handled with tenderness and compassion… and a little bit of properly placed jealousy.
I would highly recommend this story for anyone who needs a little escape from whatever trouble is brewing on their horizon. Then you can pick up those sand bags and continue on with a smile.

Emma Chadwick doesn’t really want to marry. Now that her older sisters have married well, she hopes Mama will be happy and leave her in peace – no such luck.
Emma never thought she would fall in love. She certainly didn’t think it would fall on her, but that’s exactly what happened. All she wanted was to escape the ballroom for a while to get away from the noise and the heat. Lord Radcliffe, Earl of Whitehurst wanted to escape an unwanted encounter with Mrs. Newton. Morgan thought going out the window was a fine idea, until he realizes that her couldn’t go back in and it was a long way down. Emma’s attempt to rescue him fails when he bounces out of the straw cart directly on top of her. As luck would have it, this took place in front of an audience, including Mama. Scandal or marriage? Morgan and Emma marry. It seems that all might work out except they discover that he hates the country and she hates London. Can Emma uncover the secret to Morgan’s dislike of the country and convince Morgan that the country is wonderful, or at least not horrible? Or will she have to live in London?
Emma and the Earl is the third story in the Bluestocking Brides series. It is a quick and entertaining read. There is romance, humor, and just a little mystery. There is even a villain of sorts, actually more of a pest, who thwarts Emma’s attempts to sway Morgan’s anti-country attitude. The characters from the first two books are all here, entertaining as ever. It was fun watching Emma and Morgan come to know each other. This is a delightful addition to a wonderful series. I look forward to the next book. I can’t wait to what is in store for Catherine.

Morgan and Emma marry. It seems that all might work out except they discover that he hates the country and she hates London. Can Emma uncover the secret to Morgan’s dislike of the country and convince Morgan that the country is wonderful, or at least not horrible? Or will she have to live in London?
Emma and the Earl is the third story in the Bluestocking Brides series. It is a quick and entertaining read. There is romance, humor, and just a little mystery. There is even a villain of sorts, actually more of a pest, who thwarts Emma’s attempts to sway Morgan’s anti-country attitude. The characters from the first two books are all here, entertaining as ever. It was fun watching Emma and Morgan come to know each other. This is a delightful addition to a wonderful series. I look forward to the next book. I can’t wait to what is in store for Catherine.

Poor Emma and her earl! Emma is just trying to help the gentleman out of a tricky spot, which she doesn't completely understand, when through no fault of her own—or his even—she becomes utterly and thoroughly compromised. She hadn't wished to marry in general, and she certainly did not want to marry a man like the earl or marry without love. They're also quite different in their preferences for living; the earl is decidedly a city man while Emma much prefers the country. Their initial moments after the wedding are a bit awkward, but he will not force her into any intimacies she is not ready for. Their relationship becomes a bit of a game when they make a wager before going to the country to see one of his friends. She is bound and determined to make him like country life on this little visit, and so she makes a deal with him: he will do everything that she requires of him during the stay, and if she convinces him that the country life is a good one, he will agree to spend some time in it; if she cannot convince him, she will not continue to pester him about it.
I like these two characters. They both had such strong history coming into the story, him with a desire to continue his roguish ways in the city and her preferring to keep to her bluestocking, confirmed spinster ones. But they are both good people who are trying to make the best of a bad circumstance. I like the interplay between them as their relationship thawed. All in all, I thought this was a very enjoyable Regency.

This was a another winner about the Chadwick sisters! Emma Chadwick's older sisters have now married so she really doesn't feel the want or need to marry & maybe her mother will leave the marriage matching alone now - probably not!
Emma never thought she would fall in love & has never found anyone to draw her interest until she attempted to escape the heat & noise of the ballroom & ran in to Lord Morgan Radcliffe, Earl of Whitehurst. Morgan was also attempting to escape; however, he was escaping an unwanted encounter with Mrs. Newton. Poor Lord Morgan Radcliffe, Earl of Whitehurst, has no idea what he has gotten himself into with the strong-willed bluestocking redhead he has to marry. Morgan is a rake, but still an honorable one. He will not become involved with a married lady, so he goes out a window to hide from Mrs. Newton. When he is found dangling out of a window by Emma Chadwick, she tries to help him get down safely by dragging a hay cart underneath the window for him. Unfortunately, he falls on top of her, they are found by her mother, and that is more than enough to make their marriage necessary to suppress any possible scandal or a ruined reputation.
Because secrets are involved, misunderstanding ensues and Emma will not back down regarding the virtues of spending life in the country versus staying in London. So she begins the task of persuading her new husband that the country is a much better place for a happily married gentleman to live.
This was such a fun book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I am the first to admit to preferring light-hearted fun and laughter in many of the books I read. This one easily meets that preference for me! Emma is a strong-willed young lady with a great deal of confidence. Morgan won’t know what he’ll soon be facing! Will she dig out his secrets? Or should this one stay hidden? Terzo capitolo della serie, questa volta seguiamo la "sobria" Emma che per via di un equivoco si ritroverà sposata con nientedimeno del famoso libertino Morgan. I nostri protagonisti sono un concentrato di insicurezze e senso di inferiorità, quindi direi perfettamente amalgamati ma con poco brio, e nessuna scintilla particolare è scattata con la sottoscritta. Emma ha sempre sofferto perché, rispetto alle sorelle, non è mai riuscita a trovare qualcosa che l'appassionasse realmente, provando cento hobby diversi e fallendo in tutti, mentre Morgan ha alle spalle un passato traumatico (che sorpresa) che non ha nessuna intenzione di condividere con la novella sposa che suo malgrado si è trovato tra capo e collo. L'intesa tra i due è comunque ottima e il finale, seppur affrettato come spesso accade in questa serie, ci regala un epilogo soddisfacente e anche un pizzico di vivacità, che durante il racconto è portato solo dalle fantastiche sorelle, qui un poco meno presenti del solito (sigh).

No good deed goes unpunished, as Emma discovered when coming to the Earl of Radcliff's aid, thereby resulting in a hasty marriage. On the surface of things, Morgan is easygoing and wins society over with his wit, charm, and good looks. However, as Emma comes to realize, it is all a facade to hide a desperate man coming to terms with his past. They are also at an impasse. Emma loves the countryside and her family, whilst Morgan will do everything he can to avoid having to deal with fresh air, rivers, and mud. In some ways, Emma seems to be the most scatterbrained of the Chadwick sisters with her ever-changing interests, most of which frustrates her long-suffering family. Morgan hadn't intended to marry or to subject a wife to his fears, but in Emma, he finds a soulmate and the one woman who will look beyond the obvious to what lies beneath. This sweet romance comes to a happy conclusion, but not without bringing a wave of fresh suffering to her sisters as she takes up a new hobby.

I received this book as an ARC and having read this author previously, I was excited to have been given the opportunity to read and review. I was pleasantly surprised to realized that it is a series and all four books were included. This is the story of four sisters, although there are actually five, but one has already found the love of her life and married. Although it is a series, I like that the author wrote the books so each can be read as a stand alone. She introduced the sisters in the first book but cleverly gave hints in each book to the men who will appear in the next book. I truly enjoyed the series and would highly recommend for your reading pleasure. If you enjoy following sibling sisters and the men who capture their hearts, I strongly suggest you pick this one up.

What a delightful story! Emma Chadwick is the next unmarried sister in the Bluestocking Brides series. As in the first two, this story gets your attention almost from page one and holds it to the end. Morgan, the Earl of Radcliffe has gotten himself in a situation and it takes literally falling on Emma to start their relationship !! Samantha Holt is always so clever in her characters and making you really like them despite their flaws! Morgan holds a secret that nobody knows and is afraid it will push Emma away. Can they find happiness and defeat any threats? You will need to read to see what happens and then be waiting anxiously for the next story in this wonderful series!!

Where do I begin?
Everything was going great till I reached chapter 6.
I starting getting confused. The author in the previous books stated that heroine's older sister was Amelia who married a duke then the second oldest sister was Julia who married a viscount. Suddenly Julia was the duchess. Julia was in the story then Amelia came in and I could not figure out whether the duchess was speaking or the vicountess was. Also it was not stated whether both sisters were there which might have clarified this issue.
I finally gave up on this book at 33% due to the mess and called DNF.
I enjoyed the previous books and was looking forward to this one as I like the sisters and they made me laugh.

A hero plagued by nightmares, a headstrong and sassy heroine and an unfortunate moment that leads to compromise and scandal. The opening scene, and the ensuing scandal, is one of the most hillarious I've read. An excellent way to start Emma's story, a lighthearted, quick read, with funny moments, quite a few steamy scenes, secrets that threaten Emma's and Morgan's happiness, and a sweet happily ever after. I couldn't help smiling all through reading! If you're looking for an enjoyable afternoon read, this is the perfect story.

What a great quick read. I have to say I'm falling in love with these BlueStocking Brides. I hope the series continues or at least we'll see updates regularly. This is a well written engaging historical romance with a few funny moments but a lot more sweet and loving moments. I loved watching Emma finally find her passion and watching Morgan come to terms with his own issues. Fans of great historical romances that are quick and easy to read will adore this one. I highly recommend it to everyone!

I enjoyed reading Emma's story as much as her sisters and can't wait to find out Catherine's story. The characters are interesting and the books flow nicely together. I always enjoy the Blue Stocking ladies because they are not cookie cutter material but rather a bit more individual and always have some new interest that usually adds a degree of humor. I think anyone who enjoys a good series of characters would definitely enjoy reading this book as well as the two previous books.
