Stepbrother Studs #17

Stepbrother Studs: Preston

Rate this book
Lara has a horrible secret she’s hiding from everyone. The only person in the world she thinks she could tell, who might understand and help her, is her stepbrother, Preston. But when Preston’s helicopter goes down in the mountains, Lara believes she’s been abandoned by the only man she’s ever loved. But fate has other ideas. Lara dreams of a stranger and wakes up to find herself alone in a locked room with no food, no water—and no memory of what has happened to her. Injured, blind, and helpless, all she has is a vague memory of a man who has carried her to this place. She’s afraid of what might lie behind her… and even more afraid of what may lie ahead. What if she’s jumped from the frying pan into a much hotter fire than she ever could have imagined?

Lara has a deep dark secret that she has been keeping from everyone she knows. She only knows one person that she trusts enough to tell and that person is her best friend and stepbrother, Preston. When Lara finally get the courage to tell him everything that has been going on the stepfather comes home home and ruins the holiday. When Preston is on his way back to school the helicopter that he was on crashes and there are no survivors. That day Lara stop caring about anything and everything. Now she has nobody to tell what is happening to her. Then one day in a blink of an eye Lara's world is turned upside down and inside out. And a blast from her past walks back into her life. Will this past be her savior or will it cause her more pain and misery?

I really enjoy reading Selena's books. She is one of my favorite authors. I could not stop reading this story once I started it. The flow of the story was on point. The story was very believable. I can't wait to read more books by Selena. I recommend this book to others.

Broke and touched my heart!

Wow!! This story was not what I thought it was going to be. Lara being abused by her step father and not being able to escape broke my heart. Lara loved Preston despite his father. Preston loving her no matter what happened and risking his life for her touched my heart. I recommend reading this book.

It was a dark story of surviving abuse. And coming together in the end to find happuly ever after. The story was bit jumbled in the beginning with two timeline intertwine. Going back and forth. Though it was shorterotica, the story was complete with details and background story.
